Hopeless and Changeless

Not everything presented as "good news" turns out to be good after all. For instance, the government announced that the unemployment rate last month dropped slightly from 9.7% to 9.5%, which Barack Obama cited as proof that his policies are "on the right track!"

The only little flaw in the president's claim is the fact that the drop in unemployment didn't come from people getting jobs, but because another 652,000 people gave up all hope of ever finding a job and stopped looking.

Put another way, the president of "Hope and Change" is now measuring his success in terms of how many people are driven into hopelessness by his anti-business, anti-job policies.

And in further support of the democrats' drive to encourage people to give up, House speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that she believes the best way to create jobs is to extend unemployment benefits. Logic, apparently, is not the same on her planet as it is here on Earth.

But while more and more Americans seem to be giving up on "Hope," an ever-growing number are dedicating themselves to "Change" in November.

Now that will be good news.

2010 will probably be the end of our nightmare. But it will not enough.

2012 will be the only REAL Change. Because as Barry said it Here :

"So america, unless you want another spanking don't forget... You still my bitch"

Did Johnny Optimism influence today's Hope n' Change?

Johnny Optimism lives in a world where there are two kinds of news: bad news, and bad news pretending to be good news.

In other words, it's the same world the rest of us have been living in for the past year and a half.

Here's an excellent article that articulates quite well why jobs are vaporizing into thin air, never to be seen again:

Barack Obama: The great jobs killer

From the article:

"It's time to call Obama what he is: The Great Jobs Killer. With his massive spending and tax hikes -- rewarding big government and big unions, while punishing taxpayers and business owners -- Obama has killed jobs, he has killed motivation to create new jobs, he has killed the motivation to invest in new businesses, or expand old ones. With all this killing, Obama should be given the top spot on the FBI's Most Wanted List.

Meanwhile, he has kept the union workers of GM and Chrysler employed (with taxpayer money). He has made sure that most government employee union members got their annual raises for sleeping on the job (with taxpayer money). He made sure that his voters got handouts mislabeled as "tax cuts" even though they never paid taxes (with taxpayer money). And he made sure that major campaign contributors collected billions off government stimulus (with taxpayer money)."

alan- excellent stuff. Everything this president does kills jobs for the reasons you cite above.

The one and only thing that government can do to allow job creation is to re-incentivise business by reducing taxes and government-imposed expenses. This isn't rocket science, and the fact that the president won't do it is not evidence of his ignorance, but rather of his true intent.

Obama is not in this to follow the Constitution or make things better. he's in this to make you and I pay for all the anger he has swimming around in that jug eared noggin; and he has a lot of anger.

As an automotive employee (albeit salaried), I take great umbrage at the suggestion the Valued Employees of the UAW are sleeping on the job (with taxpayer money)! Any idiot can see they're just resting their eyes...

Yesterday, Independence Day, I read, for the first time I hate to admit, the entire Declaration of Independence. A very timely thing that listed grievances against the king of England. Funny thing was, some of the accusations sounded kinda familiar. So the O-man aint the first, sure hope he is the last! One term prez at the most, he can go back to Illinois anytime far as Im concerned!

I was listening for a short time to the Glenn Beck program during my errands today and they had a few phone callers who were Democrats talking about unemployment...various callers who had been taking unemployment for extended periods, or whatever....and its sad and hilarious how clueless they are. All the sit-in for Beck had to do is throw out a few honest questions, and they'd back into a corner and start attacking the radio host and republicans, without answering the questions.

Because we have TOO many people in this country who just parrot CNN instead of learning the issues, and learning how to be a solution to our problems...instead of helping to fix them.

Its scary how many of these clueless people we have in this country...its obvious we have alot...after all, Obama did win the vote. *sigh*

Buzz-
You make an interesting point about Obama being motivated by anger. I used to think he was merely a highly composed and controlled liberal politician. When he ran for president, people loved his articulate, measured tones (even though his words were mostly fluff.) Some of us looked at his meager voting record and knew he was extremely liberal. But so was/is Hillary. I'm thinking back about the whole Obama versus Hillary campaign and remember the super delegates slowing peeling off to vote for Obama. I was (and still am) curious about what was said behind closed doors to make this happen. At the time and even early in his presidency, I figured they may have felt Obama was a superior politician to Hillary, and more like Bill Clinton on steroids. He would start from the left, but triangulate when/if necessary; political strategy would trump ideology. Then there was the Cambridge, MA incident where (for me) Obama first revealed a simmering anger. He jumped in with what was basically a racist condemnation of a white cop before he had all the facts. How interesting that since about that time we see very few unscripted words from him unless he is in a controlled setting. I'm rambling, but more and more I agree with you that this guy is seething below the surface and will do his utmost to make white conservatives pay for what he perceives as their sins to the entire world. To him, it's payback time; let the U.S. constitution and bill of rights be damned. Perhaps the first clue was Rev. Wright. Obama's friend, pastor, and mentor.

Anonymous- Obama's simmering anger has actually been front and center for a long time, but was almost entirely ignored in the run-up to his election.

Ann Coulter referred to Obama's (alleged) autobiography "Dreams From My Father" as a "dimestore Mein Kampf" with page after page describing young Obama's distrust and dislike of white people, his anger about living by "the white man's rules," his ability to detect racism in whites because they smiled at him, and the self-described "trick" he used around white people to hide his anger: "People were satisfied so long as you were courteous, smiled, and made no sudden moves."

Couple all of this with his 20-year membership in Wright's church...his radical and Marxist influences during and after college...his "apology tour" telling the world of America's (perceived) faults...and Michelle's scripted and repeated comment that her husband's candidacy was the first time in her adult life she'd been proud of America.

These are people who are filled with rage, and motivated by a need for revenge. And they're getting it, thanks to Obama's ice-cold smile, courteous rhetoric, and his willingness to take incremental steps toward destroying the country instead of distractingly "sudden moves."

And in all sincerity, we hate to say and think such things of an American president. But in over a year and a half, there is an abundance of evidence that this is all true...and not a scintilla of evidence to the contrary.

Hey, SJ, was just checking out johnny optimism...he always thinks things could be worse, and he's terminal....reminds me of Obama regarding what he said about unemployment, it could be worse! and...hopefully his term in DC is terminal!

Stilton, ouch. I had actually forgotten about Obama's book. But now, here's what scares me. Remember Hillary crying about how much she LOVES this country? It's the perfect moment to be played over and over. Was it staged?... (knowing Obama's predilections.) I'm shuddering about the prospect of a "moderate" Hillary" capturing the Independent vote. Sorry to be changing the subject, but I was just watching a show about George Washington (the reluctant leader.)
