Rain of Error

What a week it's been for the Democratic Convention. The "War on Women" party staged a salute to Teddy "Ladykiller" Kennedy, then put a serial abuser of women (and likely rapist) named Bill Clinton onstage. So delightfully wonderful was Clinton's speech that a rhapsodic Chris Matthews gushed that if the former president were somehow transported to Mars (we like the idea so far...) that he'd know how to have sex with the Martians.

And no, we don't know what that means either, other than that Chris is off his meds again.

Meanwhile on Earth, the media picked up on the story that the Democrats had removed God and Jerusalem from their party platform, and panicked Democratic leaders quickly called a voice vote of delegates to put them back in. Unfortunately, the delegates angrily shouted down the "God" proposal three times before a teleprompter told the convention chairman to just declare the motion passed, quite possibly making this the first official vote fraud of election season.

Hilariously, Barack Obama's (ahem) "historic" acceptance speech had to be moved from a giant outdoor stadium to a much smaller indoor venue. Everyone with a double-digit IQ knows that the Democrats were unable to fill the stadium - even with free tickets, free bus rides, free hotel rooms, and (for all we know) the promise of free sex with Martians.

But to save face, the Dems declared that they'd moved the event because of the extremely dangerous possibility of lightning strikes (and less than 50% chance of rain) at the stadium. Showing, perhaps, that a few of them believe in God after all.

But now the conventions are done and the battle is officially on - and Hope n' Change couldn't be happier about that. Let's roll.

------------

Friday Bonus Material: Here's some mischief I posted on Facebook this week. First up, my little tip of the hat to the "empty chair" meme which has driven the liberals crazy...

Meanwhile, this cartoon got me labeled a racist for the umpteenth time - perhaps for suggesting that Barack Obama's father was black...

And finally, during the Democratic Convention, our national debt hit $16 trillion (making me think we should officially change the number "trillion" to "Obillion"), a number so high and unpayable that even Tennessee Ernie Ford is singing the blues...

Oh these are just too rich...I am lovin' it. While keeping track with the Obammanation called a Convention...I couldn't help but notice that the delegates were somewhat taken back by having something shoved down their throats by management. Unions tend to get a little testy when that happens. Seems it's running wild of late...RNC and DNC share more than they'd like to acknowledge, rule change wise any way.

Love the "Memes From My Father"! That was just beautiful. But, of course, we all know you're racist after that all those assholes look the same to me comment - Either a racist, or a proctologist. And, in - pardon the expression - hindsight, I think you must be the latter for your ability to look into the world of politics as you do...

Anyone else catch Governor (MI - sigh) Granholm's unhinged rant crediting the Prez for saving 210,000 auto jobs, and manufacturing 'is roaring back'... Yeah it is, in states that tossed Dem governors and started behaving responsibly again...

GAWD I hate lying idiots, and the idiots that believe them...

As much as I'm opposed to Term Limits in general, as a concept, when it comes to Governors, hard to see the down side...

Stilton - sex with martians? I didn't watch the DNC & hear of it through alternative medias. Matthews' speaks kinda' stream-of-consciousness - no regard for truth, content, or common sense.

Maybe Chris Matthews is onto something here. Knowing these idiots, Clinton is positioning himself to be the newly appointed Czar of the Dept. of Extra-Terrestrial “Relations”. And who better to be the first ambassador to Planet Mars than Sandra Fluke? She’s got a great mentor for her on-the-job training, she has lots of previous hands-on experience, and she’s got enough air between her ears that the pressures of space travel shouldn’t faze her in the least!

Now that the DNC has concluded, I repeat my previous analysis "Wotta Nightmaaah!". In the Dem meme, 'The Truth Will Set You Free' has turned into 'The Truth Will Get You Called A Racist' (or a Nazi). Any further proof needed about who we need to elect? Also remember the House/Senate elections - a President can only move forward with his plans if Congress is a willing participant (unless you're 'The One' then you can violate the Constitution by Executive Order).

I think we should play Fantasy Cabinet, like Fantasy Football, you pick the best Cabinet - my immediate choices: SOS: Joe Bolton, Sec'y Treasury: Herman Cain, Sec;y Defense: Alan West, Sec'y Education: Michelle Rhee, Sec'y HUD: Donald Trump.

While he's no Stilton, he does have a seat in the WH Pressroom, a keen insight and a scary post today. Can you say "junta"?

@Pete: EX-governor. Where's she living now? Canada? And, regarding opposition for term limits, I can only say: Levin. Of course, I can also say: Conyers. Oh, and Stabmenow...

@Abbey Road Walker: Quite the contrary. It is those who already have the vacuum of space between their ears that are safe in space without a spacesuit. Airheads would pop just like helium balloons do as they climb into the stratosphere. I say: send her up!

@SeaDog: Amen!

Point to ponder: Could the Dem's "God" vote have been a staged effort to court the evangelical/religious vote? After all: Peter denied Christ three times, too...

I am always amazed that people forget history. Lauding Clinton's economic prowess, they tend to forget that it was under Clinton's administration that the housing bubble was greatly expanded by the 'Affordable Housing Act' that forced banks into providing mortgages to people who had no hope of being able to pay for them (http://www.openmarket.org/2008/09/16/clinton-pressure-to-promote-affordable-housing-led-to-mortgage-meltdown/). Corporations were encouraged to take depreciation on investments that did not qualify for the purpose of creating a better 'book value', thus two sets of books, one for the stockholders and one for the IRS. Does Enron ring a bell?

That whole teleprompter incident should have been a clear enough example of how the ironically-named "Democratic" party is really run. The election results were already programmed into the teleprompter, like the rest of their agenda for America. You delegates on the floor are only there to provide mere window dressing. Nobody really cares what they think. They just need their money and their vote.

I can't help but feel as though that was a wake-up call to at least some delegates who may now be feeling like the useful idiots they have been. The Democrat elite are everything they accuse conservatives of being; users who'll consume people as long as they're useful. And when they're done, they'll toss them like a used condom.

And considering that today you can be labeled a "racist" for merely making comments about playing "golf" or saying "Chicago", if the average conservative isn't being called a "racist" at least once a day, it just means that they aren't talking.

Both of these themes bode well for conservatives; more disenfranchised Democrats staying home in November.

@Seadog, see my post yesterday explaining the myth of the Clinton years. Clinton had absolutely nothing to do with it.

After four days of mismanagement, misinformation, slander, and outright lies, my overall impression of the democrat's convention is that they booed God and cheered a lying adulterer.

That pretty much says it all...

@Ricko from Georgia- It seems both political parties celebrate "the voice of the people" - as long as The People stick to the prewritten script.

@Emmentaler- I'm actually a proctologistician, a person whose job it is to try to make sense out of assholes. (Hmm, I may have to Photoshop a diploma for my office wall...)

@Pete(Detroit)- Sticking with the automotive analogy, a "governor" in an engine is supposed to keep things from going out of control. Clearly, Michigan needs a new one.

@Irene Peduto- I won't defend Chris Matthews very often, but I've got to say that I agree with him here. If there's any life on Mars, Bill Clinton would find a way to have sex with it.

@abbey road walker- I like your suggestions and think Fluke is indeed the right woman for the job. After all, she has so much in common with all of the other craters.

@SeaDog- I'm hoping that names like those will be appearing in a new cabinet soon, and it won't be a fantasy. More like a dream come true.

@mlester101- Readers, here's a clickable link to the article that talks about Obama's clear intention to throw out the Constitution if he's reelected, and simply rule by edict - choosing which laws to enforce or not enforce, and issuing "directives" which have never been voted on by our representatives. He's done it repeatedly already, and nobody has stood up to him. But in a second term, it would be almost unimaginably worse.

I find it fascinating that the YouTube video linked about the delegates shouting down the "God" proposal, now shows "this video has been removed by the user".

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@Emmentaler- I don't think the "denying God three times" scene was staged (well, not until the chairman halted the procedings before God could be denied a fourth time).

@SeaDog- I no longer have much faith in people remembering what happened last week, let alone "history." It's a rare liberal who even remembers that Obama's first two years he had a Democratic House and Democratic Senate supermajority, and could pass whatever he wanted (and did). Instead, they look at his wretched administration and blame "obstructionist Republicans." Clinton was a stellar president compared to Obama (granted, I've set the bar incredibly low there), and much of the economic upturn of the time had very little to do with him.

@John the Econ- I really hope there is a big enthusiasm gap that keeps Dems home on election day. Obama and company are out there touting a recovery which nobody sees or hears (a "dogwhistle recovery?"). And even Bill Clinton says that Obama needs another four years to build the recovery to the point where "you will feel it!"

Which, by the way, is a line Bill usually only uses on women trying to get out of his hotel room.

@CenTexTim- Don't forget their Ted Kennedy "Salute to Manslaughter!"

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@Yakko Warner- Thanks for calling my attention to that! The link now goes to a different video of the same event, and should work properly.

@Stilton,

Great post today! Thank GOD the dog and pony shows are over and we can get on to electing some Americans to office.

@SeaDog,

I like your picks, but I'm hoping the Dept. of Education and HUD will be quickly relegated to history, filed under the "Things to Never Try Again" category. You can throw the Dept. of Anti-Energy in there too. The Dept. of Homeland Security is a joke. What the hell is the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard for?! This CF was one of W's worst ideas. A good way to bolster our homeland security would be to give every CITIZEN a Glock .45 ACP with 10,000 rounds of ammo and some range training.

@Stilton: Re: proctologistician – As it turns out, I’ve been diagnosed with optirectalitis (opti-rectal-itis). This is a condition where the optic nerve gets crossed with the rectal nerve and you develop a shitty outlook on things. Of course that condition can also be caused by paying too much attention to politics. Ah, politics: from the Latin poly (meaning many) and ticks (meaning bloodsucking parasites).

Admittedly, I’ve already been hitting the “coffee” … it doesn’t actually cure the disease, but does help numb the pain some.

More seriously, it constantly amazes me that, when presented with clear proof that they are being lied to and taken advantage of by the very ideology they support, the Left simply refuses to acknowledge the proof. Kind of like the black knight in Monty Python’s Quest for the Holy Grail, only less admirable and decidedly less funny. You just can’t discuss important issues with people who just refuse to engage in any kind of logical thought process.

Great stuff today (as always). Thanks!

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@Colby- I'm not sure if issuing a gun to everyone would make our society safer, but it would certainly encourage people to be more polite.

@Chuck- I can't tell you how often I've wanted to do a "black knight" cartoon and backed off of it because numbskulls would shriek "Ooh! You said that because Obama is BLACK!" But the Dem/lib ability to deny reality is genuinely jaw-dropping. Hmm. I might have to do that cartoon after all...

Pete(Detroit) said...

Sorry, all, I meant to be clearer - Miz Granholm (Aunt Jenny to some) *is* an EX governor - term limited out two years ago. Current Gov, Rick Snyder restructured the books in a way that EVERYONE'S ox got gored - and unemployment fell 3 points (now BELOW nat'l average!) and state is running a (slight) surplus. There was a recall movement (sponsored by state worker unions, natch) but people recognized so much good was happening so fast that it didn't even get to a ballot. So we're good, there.

Emmentaller, she's in Cali, has a political show on some cable network that no one watches - AlGore? MSNBC? Who cares... apparently she's trying to get some attention, want's a position in the O administration. Maybe let her have the DNC chair after DWS head explodes? She appears to be sufficiently deranged that it would be a smooth transition...

To your list of folks who can GO, let's add my New Favorite Reprehensitive, John Dingle. Senile old jackass has been in congress since Harry Reid was a kid - seriously, like 1955!!!

Colby said...

@Stilton,

You will be branded a racist no matter what, so please proceed with the black knight. I mean, you can't even say "Chicago" or "golf" now, so what the hey.

@Chuck,

Be glad you don't have what BO has; acute crainial rectumitis. I don't see how the hell he gets those ears way up there!

Here is some hilarious prime Democrat hypocrisy at its finest:

Democrats will argue until they're breathless about how it's a woman's "choice" as to what she does with her body. But why doesn't the right to such "choice" extend beyond killing a fetus?

When I heard Clinton's remark that "You will feel it", I had some dark thoughts. It's a very vague thing to say about a recovery - it really says nothing either way - "feeling it" can be a good or a bad thing. It all depends on how it affects a person individually. It was a safe word but the connotations are endless.
