Hey, It's All Gore

obama, obama jokes, tea party, conservative, hope and change, hope n' change, stilton jarlsberg, 72 virgins, 99 virgins, al gore, current tv, joy behar

Overstuffed "green energy" huckster Al Gore has sold his virtually unwatched "Current TV" cable network to terrorist-lovin' Al-Jazeera for $500 million dollars (every one of which came from the sale of evil, Earth-destroying oil) so that they can reach American viewers with their exciting "Must See Jihad" lineup of shows.

Current TV is so left-wing and anti-American that MSNBC looks fair and balanced by comparison - which may account for its dismal viewership numbers. And Al Gore has remained true to his political beliefs: he turned down what was reported to be a higher cash offer from Glenn Beck and chose Al-Jazeera because "the legacy of who the network goes to is important to us and we are sensitive to networks not aligned with our point of view." That "point of view" being that America sucks, right Al?

Al-Jazeera has already said that it will scrap Current TV's format and programming, which will come as a considerable shock to the countless millions of cable viewers who didn't know that Current TV had either of those things.

As far as the Jewish Ms. Behar's future with the network, things are a little uncertain - although the network is rumored to be preparing a one-hour special for her called "Joy Behar Gets Stoned."

We assume that it's about legalized marijuana...but you never know.

Tricky, let's hope it's not Al-Gore-Rhea, which is what you get when you cross Current with All-Jizzeera. The look on Joy Behar's face when Leno confronted her with the idea of Osama being her new boss was priceless - it caught her with her burqa down.

Make it public. Ask how Gore, a member of the Leftist elite, justifies trying to make more money by at least trying to sell before the start of 2013.

Wasn't paying taxes Patriotic? Isn't Gore at the Obama level of "at some point, you've made enough money"?

And really? Glenn Beck's philosophy is too different from Gore's to have justified selling to him (so they say). Doesn't that imply that Al-Jazeera IS more in line with Gore's, and by association (remember that this man was the Democratic candidate for President and was a sitting VP) the Democratic Party's views?

So Democrats = Al-Jazeera? Isn't that the message, here?

Why won't Obama say it loud and say it proud -- you know, when he gets back from his vacation on the public's dime (about 200 million of them, if the $20M pricetag is correct)?

Orwell was right -- some animals ARE more equal than others. And they have a (D) for political party affilition ...

Colby said...

C'mon now... let's all just coexist, OK? If we embrace Al-Jazeera, they'll return the love, right? Al (is his name an interesting co-incidence?) could have made more money from Beck, so we should thank him for making such a sacrifice for whirled peas.

One of my favorite things is hearing about libs that are caught off guard by the results of their actions and efforts. Like all the libs whos heads are exploding because their SS taxes went up... Stick THAT in your little bongs and smoke it, you idiots!

I hope that toad Behar enjoys the unemployment line, and I hope AlGore-ithm buys a tropical island and becomes a hermit.

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@WMD- I have no problem keeping my powder dry, but sometimes the news makes my mascara run.

@TrickyRicky- Now that's a disturbing image.

@Grafton Cheddar- Joy Behar is one of the few women on Earth who make me think that burqas might be a good idea.

@Earl Allison- You're quite right that Big Al tried to ram the deal through before January 1st in order to avoid the increased Obama taxes on the evil rich- or should I say he wanted to avoid sharing "just a little bit more" with those most in need?

There's no question that Al-Jazeera's worldview is easier for the Left (and quite particularly Barack Obama) to accept than that of Glenn Beck.

@Colby- Gore liked the idea that Al-Jazeera supports efforts to reduce Global Warming- for instance, by converting Jews directly into carbon footprints without a lengthy, energy-wasting "lifespan."

And it is pretty funny to see the liberal voters who didn't realize that their Social Security taxes were going up. I only wish they were getting hit up for more so we'd finally get a few to wake up.

SJ - Gore's sale to Al-Jazeera rather than to Glenn Beck is a most unbelievable event. Even Gore ought to have known better. So that means he did know but chose to sell it anyway. Ideologies being the same? OMG! I can't believe much of what is happening from the libs & Dems. It seems to be unpatriotic & punishable by law. These people really do hate America. A chiropractor I knew once told me how America is a selfish, greedy, & obnoxious country of elitists & left-wing zealots.
@Earl Allison - Orwell was right about many things - am now re-reading 1984 (as per Necron99's recommendation) & find much to compare with the current admin. The Times They Are A'Changin.... and not for the better......

I can picture the shows:
"Muarmar does an honor killing"
"Bus bomb stars!"
"Off with their heads!"
"Infidels, can't live with them?"
"The Crusader Games" (where knights get tortured and thrown from parapets.)
"Muslim eyes for the Christian guy: the make over."
"Cooking with Camel Meat."
"Mohammed and the Camel Races"
"Honey, don't leave the house."
...
I can't wait to not watch this network like I didn't watch the "current" one.

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@Irene Peduto- The WSJ has an excellent piece on the network which Al Gore thought was a great ideological match and kindred spirit. You can read it here.

@Jim Hlavac- I expect your phone will be ringing today when Al-Jazeera calls to get more of your (funny) programming ideas. Be sure to hold out for the big bucks like Greenhouse Gore did!

John the Econ said...

Hearty laugh of the day kudos to you @Stilton for the "Joy Behar Gets Stoned." joke. Classic.

This is a gift on so many levels.

1st, it's another highlight of Al Gore's hypocritical rent-seeking career; one where he's made a somewhere around a half-billion dollars not by producing anything that people actually want, but through crony-capitalist "rent seeking"; using his political position and connections to impose himself upon the marketplace and hundreds of millions of dollars ultimately extracted by hapless consumers.

The only thing that gave "Current TV" any value at all was the fact that it was carried by most cable systems. And why would any cable system care to devote a slice of their limited and precious bandwidth to a network that attracts at best 42,000 viewers at prime time? (Boo the dog - http://www.boothedog.net - could easily do better than that)

Answer: Because those cable systems regularly have to go before government regulators and committees controlled by Democrats. For this reason alone, if you have cable, you've been paying a nickel or dime a month that ultimately went right into Al Gore's pocket.

(It's also an another argument for "a la carte" pricing of cable tv, as I also resent subsidizing anything on MTV and "Honey Boo Boo", but that's another topic)

Speculatively, this deal now makes Al Gore more wealthy than another "rich white male", Mitt Romney. The difference? Mitt Romney got rich because his companies produce and sell products and services that people actually want to spend their money on.

It's also rich (pun intended) that Al desperately tried to get this deal done before the "fiscal cliff" for 1%-ers such as himself. Sorry Al, but it looks like you'll be paying more for ObamaCare than I will; there's still some justice out there it seems.

2nd, personally I'm looking forward to Al-Jazeera as a media alternative. I think I will find it interesting as a contrast against what the alphabets serve up. Yes, I know it will be propaganda for the burqa-imposing set. But is whatever Al-Jazeera will be spewing be any worse than what Current TV or MSNBC spews? Or CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, NPR, etc, for that matter? It will likely be more honest when compared to what we've been getting from the American media.

Actually, I think Al-Jazeera on America's shores will ultimately prove to be more troublesome for liberals and their narrative than anybody else. Although Fundamentalist Islam and contemporary Democrats share similar fascist political values, Islam could not be more hostile to "core Democratic values", such as "free speech", secular humanism, the role of women, and sexual issues such as promiscuity and homosexuality. It's not just Joy Behar who needs to look out.

SJ - I read the article of Al-Jazeera. It was quite informative; not that I thought the network was anything other than a propaganda machine of the Gvt. - kinda' like we have here. When Daniel Pearl's father quoted the network as a "..clash with the norms of civilized behavior.." that's enough for anyone with any sort of common sense. This network is dependent upon the Gvt. and will always slant their news that way. Gore is a disgrace to his nation.
@Jim Hlavac & Bob Horan - loved your titles of shows....
@John the Econ - unfortunately this network will be bad for the libs but also for any patriotic American - like Obamacare, like his tax hikes, we all pay.

John the Econ said...

@Irene Peduto, just how would this be bad "for any patriotic American" any more than the rest of the psychic pollution that makes up most of television today? IMHO, MTV, E!, TLC, VH1 and numerous other channels do more damage to "patriotic Americans" than anything you're likely to see on Al-Jazeera.

In fact, I'd even go as far as to suggest that Al-Jazeera and I would feel the same, for the right reasons!

I'm not too thrilled about a network dedicated to the destruction of the American way of life being shown on U.S. cable networks.

Fortunately, it's being replaced by Al-Jazeera...

And in related news, Time Warner Cable has already dropped Current-Jazeera from its lineup. I'm not a big TWC fan, but in this case I'm with them 100%.

@Irene, Orwell... heavy stuff, right?

So Fat "Cat" Albert Gore is cashing in his chips on what I called "The Hippie Channel"...

Yes, I have been subjected to viewing the continuous loop of tripe espoused on that channel by such libtard luminaries as Howard "Everything Bad that ever Happened in History is the White Man's Fault" Zinn, Richard "There is no God and Christians are Fools" Dawkins, and the never ending parade of other various and sundry brain dead Catastophists from Che Guerra T-shirt wearing college age "Trustafarians" to Fat Albert himself.

I can't see how Al-Jazeera can make it any worse.

Now if only Hammas would make a bid to buy the OWN channel....

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@John the Econ- Thanks for bringing in a point that I hadn't made. Gore clearly created nothing of value with Current TV, so how could he sell it for a half billion petrodollars? And you've nailed the answer - even though it's watched by no one, it's available to millions because of Gore's political connections. So we've got crony capitalism at its worst, mixed with anti-American Islamist propaganda - all courtesy of a man who came within a gnat's fart of being president.

@Bob Horan- You know, I might actually watch "Monday Night Goatball"...

And these days, it is interesting to get news from other countries to see what the MSM is actively covering up.

@Earl- I wonder if Al has ever considered the possibility that the Earth isn't being heated by greenhouse gasses, and the reality is that he just sweats like a fat man?

@rickn80r- I'd love to see the emir of Qatar (the sheik who's funding the deal, and who appointed his cousin to be chairman of Al-Jazeera) lose a ton of money on this deal, but I don't think he'll care as long as he doesn't run out of oil. The guy is so rich that he recently donated $400 million to the terrorist organization Hamas (per the WSJ link I posted above). But still, Big Al likes the emir's values more than those of Glenn Beck. Not much I can add to that.

@Irene Peduto- Time Warner Cable (whom I've got to call today to complain about raising my bill) actually dropped Current TV as soon as the change in ownership was announced. Some people say that Time Warner shouldn't be restricting "alternative viewpoints," but I'm pleased with their decision. I don't want a freakin' nickel of my cable bill going to a network which has voiced the opinion that all Jews should be killed.

@John the Econ- Wouldn't it be fun if the new channel actually went after the decadence and moral laxity of the Left? I'd enjoy seeing the liberals squirm when called out for being heretics, whoremongers, and camel spawn.

Come to think of it, Al-Jazeera could probably just buy up old episodes of "Jersey Shore" and rename the series "Heretics, Whoremongers, and Camel Spawn" and rack up pretty good ratings!

@Bob Horan- Great letter! I'm feeling very uneasy with where this new "gun grab" program may be taking us (did you see the story about the NJ mayor who's offered a $1000 bounty to people who turn in neighbors who have an unregistered gun?). The problem isn't the guns - the problem is crazy people. And another problem - which the Founding Fathers addressed - is the danger from power-hungry beureaucrats who would attempt to control the American people by force, and would prefer to do so unchallenged.

Out of curiosity, during lunch I did a scan of the available channels on my cable system, and there is was. But the high point of the exercise was that I don't actually get the channel, as I am "not authorized", meaning that it's not part of my "basic" package.

So at least Al Gore wasn't getting any money off of my overpriced (gone up twice last year) cable bill. (Unfortunately, I'm still supporting Snooki's spawn and Honey Boo Boo)

After 911, I recall numerous people in Hollywood vocally suggesting why these people hated us so. Usually, it was supposedly support for Israel or imperialist conspiracy. If they had only actually listened to what was being said in the middle-east "street", they would have heard loud-and-clear want it was about: Corrupt and immoral western values exemplified by Hollywood.

So again, I say let the battle begin. I look forward to being a spectator during the debate between unfettered free speech and advocacy for genocide; rights for "alternative" lifestyles versus the proper methods for exterminating them; Blasphemy versus beheading the blasphemers. I'd even pay to see a debate between MSNBC and Al-Jazeera hosts. I'd pay even more to see it fought with guns.

@Stilton: Did you see the media (and the useless Police Chief) gushing over the 'rocket launchers' turned in LA's cash-for-guns program? One was marked in 1" letters 'TRAINER', the other was the useless fiberglass tube of a used, one-use LAW, commonly sold in surplus stores for a couple of dollars. I also have to be very concerned about these idiots that don't even know the difference between a semi-automatic vs an 'assault' rifle, contemplating laws to 'regulate' the weapons and violate the Constitution. The 'assault rifle' I carried in RVN was an M-60, a belt fed weapon with a canvas AMMO BELT bag. A good, but very long article An Opinion On Gun Control is worth the read.

Grafton Cheddar said...

Well, speaking of the impending gun grab, me and Mrs. Cheddar are considering arming the household and decided to check out the local Walmart to make a purchase. Waste of time: nothing on the shelves. The local small store gun dealer isn't open until tomorrow, so I looked online and discovered to my dismay that everywhere I looked (not that I really know where to look) was *completely* out of stock of preferred long guns and pistols. What to do? The Walmart greeter said to forget it; they are getting one or two ARs in per week, and they are gone before UPS unloads them. Where should I look?

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@Pete(Detroit)- I've got mixed feelings; on the one hand "who cares," but on the other genuine concerns about Al-Jazeera's messaging. And sure, Freedom of Speech allows all kinds of things to be said, but not calls to kill the Jews. Additionally, I'm not sure what Freedom of Speech rights we're required to grant to Qatar. Al Gore just sold them his (improperly attained) television network - not ownership rights to the Constitution.

@Colby- Let me echo your thanks for those who serve and have given us the ability to raise our voices in relative safety.

And the editorial you linked to is a good one. How far are any of us willing to go to protect our freedoms and the Constitution?

@John the Econ- Excellent point that what the radical Islamists hate worst about American "culture" is the Hollywood-manufactured degredations. Frankly, I agree that our culture and moral beings have been harmed by the entertainment crap machines - and I can understand other countries and cultures wanting nothing to do with this poison.

But as you say, it could be fun to watch the two sides go at it.

@Bob Horan- I'm no gun expert, but I do know that Diane Feinstein and company seem to be making their judgement based on the idea that the most dangerous guns are the ones which look like Darth Vader.

If Barry decides to start disarming people, I'd like to suggest that he start first with the bodyguards of all the Hollywood celebs and newscasters. I'll bet the MSM would start singing a different tune pretty quickly.

@Irene Peduto- I had Current TV on my cable until a day or so ago, but now (happily) it's gone. Even more happily, I never watched it for a nanosecond.

@Grafton Cheddar- I have no idea where you can find any weaponry, but I'm not surprised the shelves are being emptied.

I don't mean to turn into Mr. Conspiracy here, but it strikes me that B. Hussein has been SO blunt about his desire to grab guns that it's almost like he wants people to arm themselves and feel panicky. But why? Is he planning some sort of confrontational mischief which will require enough gunfire and death that he can declare martial law?

Those of us in Texas too clearly remember the situation at Waco, when the government raided the Branch Davidian compound knowing that the gun-wielding folks inside had been told that the Feds would be coming to kill them (but did not know that the Branch Davidians had been warned the Feds were on the way). The ensuing shootout was a mess, with many law officers killed and wounded. Which eventually gave Janet Reno the authority to move in with tanks and kill every man, woman, and child who had failed to yield to the government's authority.

I don't want to see that played out on a national scale, and wish that I couldn't even imagine the possibility of such a scenario. But under Obama and Holder? Yeah, I can imagine it...

Pete(Detroit) said...

Grafton, try "gunbroker.com" - I've had much good result w/ them. Kind of EBay for gun freaks, and all standard ebay caveats ensue... note - you will need to give the seller the name of a licensed FFL dealer in your area that will accept guns (there used to be a 'find a local dealer' link on the site). The local guy will then complete the deal, for a fee (usually $25 - $50).
So, on all purchases, be sure to add shipping, AND TRANSFER fees to the 'sale price'. Have a dealer lined up in advance. Be sure you can get all required permits, in advance. Line up the hoops, and they're not too severe to hop through. Trying to determine the NEXT hoop only after having completed the previous one will take HUGE quantities of time and frustration (trust me on this).

Gun Genie (google it) is a good resource for NEW hardware, and will direct you to dealers in your area

Google gun shows in your area. Definitely expect to still have to pass background checks / paperwork on all handgun, and most long gun purchases.

There might be online 'shooters groups' (for instance, Michigan Gun Owners) in your area / state that will have a 'classified' section.
Most dealers (and retailers - Gabella's, Gander mtn, etc) could direct you to a training provider (concealed carry classes, etc) and THEY can probably point you to dealers / sellers / sources

Of course, there are surely many *illegal* sources, but I would know nothing about them, nor how to engage, nor would I want to.

Good luck, and happy hunting!

I have no problems shooting those weapons, but you do have to search a little more for some of the ammo.

@Stilton: One thing that does bother me, McConnell said on tonights news that the schedules for the House and Senate for the near future are going to be all about the debt ceiling and spending reduction, leaving no room for consideration of any gun legislation.  Given Obama's proclivity towards shredding the Constitution when he disagrees with it, I wonder if he will attempt to do it by Executive Directive?  I put nothing past him to advance the loonie left's agenda.  There have been numerous stories recently about the feds buying enormous amounts of hollow point ammo for ‘training purposes’ but at one point someone leaked that it was for civil unrest during the DNC/RNC, and after the election.

Back many years in my military experience, when I was stationed at 29 Palms, we were in a rotating stand-by for 'riot duty' - in actuality, per our platoon skipper, if we (USMC) were called in, it was declared civil insurrection (read declared martial law to bypass Posse Comitatus).  We were equipped with chemical weapon gear, and the gas 'grenades' we would be issued were not CS, but were a combination of CS and a nerve agent that was either inhaled or absorbed through the skin (basically only a full suit and mask would protect) and while not (per se) deadly, it would cause the victim to drop instantly and begin to discharge through 'every orifice and pore' in their body.  Stuff was also air deliverable (i.e., rotor wing and aircraft). I can only guess at the military grade of stuff available now-a-days.  So, it probably wouldn't be like the civil war, brother firing on brother, just incapacitate, secure and hold in the re-education camps (maybe that is why ex-gov Bill Richardson keeps visiting N. Korea?). I used to think that there was no one more incompetent than Janet Reno, but I believe Holder has won that award - so, yeah, a Waco is possible since a friend of mine has heard rumblings of militias being quietly formed. If that is their plan, they best remember Admiral Yamamoto’s statement that Japan couldn’t invade the US because there would be a gun behind every blade of grass.

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@Pete(Detroit)- Useful information!

@REM1875- I was thinking the same thing - Gore just seems to have a strange swelling/bloating thing going on. Perhaps because, like Moore, he's full of...well, you know.

@George in Houtx- This is fun! It's sort of like our own little Hope n' Change gun show!

@Bob Horan- If B. Hussein really does go for a gun grab, I doubt he'll use any path other than Executive Directive- but first, he'll need a dramatic and bloody "inciting incident" to "justify" such a draconian action. And I'm sure he can have one arranged (or, according to the conspiracists, another one arranged).

As you point out, the government has the really scary toys on their side - including things we probably don't know about and wouldn't be happy to find out about.

And I hope that all of this is wildly inappropriate and unnecessary speculation. But I have no trust in this president whatsoever. None.

@Queso Grande, the camel has been pooping inside the tent for decades now. There is absolutely nothing that Al-Jazeera can put on the air here that can possibly do more damage to America than what Hollywood and the New York media establishment has been dishing out for decades.

The only thing that they could possibly sell upon impressionable minds made numb by the current media establishment is the idea that religion has value, something the leftist media has been actively working to destroy for generations now. That's not all bad, and is going to give the status quo fits.

John the Econ said...

As for those insipid "COEXIST" bumper-stickers, I just have to shake my head at the level of delusion that it must take to make one believe that it's relevant statement.

(I think they come pre-installed when you order a Prius, unless you specifically request them not be for an additional fee)

Contrary to what the leftist whiners in media and academia have been preaching for generations, America is the most tolerant country on the planet. The fact that you can put one of those COEXIST bumper stickers on your car without fear of having your car vandalized is simple enough proof of that. It takes absolutely no courage at all to display one of those here.

Now, if one of these lefties really wanted to impress me, they'd drive a car with that bumper sticker somewhere other than America, like in the West Bank or Saudi Arabia. I'd just advise that they have their affairs in order first.

Those perarls of broadcast wisdom will be slurped up just like Jennings/Cronkite/Brokaw/Rather's palavering, and given the same credibility. "TV tolds me so, its gotsa be true!!"
Have you all seen the insurance commercial? Where the gal is 'dating a French model?' And she beleives everything the intarwebs tell her? I think that the company was trying to tell us something, something impportant that we all missed.....

People are IDIOTS nowadays!!

I never knew there was so much money in being an idiot. Makes me wish I hadn't wasted money on a good education. :\ [/sarc]
