In what is likely a desperate and purely political attempt to make Hillary Clinton look like she wasn't the nation's worst-ever Secretary of State, John "You Rang?" Kerry has just come out with the least encouraging pronouncement imaginable about the throat-cutting, suicide-bombing, allegedly non-Islamic murderers of ISIS, ISIL, Daesh, or whatever the hell other name the administration thinks is likely to be unrecognized by Democratic voters.
Specifically, and in keeping with Barack Obama's strategy of only using "D" words when describing action against ISIS, Kerry further downgraded our nation's goal from destroying, degrading, or disrupting the maniacal killers to merely "denting" them.
Denting them.
Not only is that the pantywaist equivalent of making an empty threat to give Hitler a noogie, but Kerry is saying that he only hopes we'll be able to make this dent (the first $500 of which goes to ISIS's deductible, after which the rest is paid by their CAIR insurance) by the end of the Obama administration.
Put another way (and surely the way ISIS and our former Middle Eastern allies are hearing it), this means that the president has no intention of seriously damaging ISIS - and perhaps his "legacy" - prior to his exit. Which means that the radical jihadists can pretty much look forward to another unfettered year of metastatic spread without significant U.S. intervention.
Still, we shouldn't underestimate the power of the dents. After all, it was they who voted Obama into office - twice.
We can only pray that ISIS didn't learn of anti-dent defense systems from Hillary's hacked email server. Or an infomercial. |
I'm afraid the only serious 'dent' will be the one in John Kerry's head!
ReplyDeleteHey Dudes, I've got a really bitchen idea. We should organize a "Dentathon" and invite all of the American "Dentists" to participate. We could teach ISIS how to "Dental Floss". I'm pretty sure they would succumb to our Good Will and surrender.....Dude.
ReplyDeleteAnd please pass the bong back over here. You've been Bogarting it for quite awhile.
Peace,
Jim G
Gnarly!
ReplyDeleteOf course Ă˜bama has no intention of seriously damaging his ISIS friends. He only pretends to attack them and then likely asks Allah for forgiveness during his 5 daily prayer sessions. I only wonder if he has actually had a Qibla installed in the White House.
ReplyDeleteYes, they are running out of weasel-words for whatever it is they're doing; or not doing. A weak term every once in a long while could indicate a need for more coffee; but after a while words like "slow, oppose, degrade, contain", etc and now "dent"; all spoken from a nice, highly protected & safe podiums and meant for the news clips... it tells all we need to know. And what about obituaries for folks who are placed in harm's way with these rules of engagement? "Smith was lost while engaged in action to dent opposing forces." One of many examples: Flying a sortie but not using ordnance because that might not be P.C. Mr. Kerry: Please read up on General Patton quotes; he understood. But then since you still won't really get it; just shut up and go away.
ReplyDeleteDenting them? The mind boggles.
ReplyDeleteWhatever happened to "kill them and break their stuff"?
Or am I being intolerant and non-diverse?
This whole administration has been one long, costly acci-dent...
ReplyDeletePatton, Chesty Puller, and even Ike must all be rolling over in their graves.... "nuff for today, I have to figure out how to get two feet of snow off of my 650 foot driveway. Think I'll just wait until the sun shines. God Bless America.
ReplyDeleteI think "ISIL" is a deliberate attempt to be insulting to Israel. "Levant" physical is the area of Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, and Turkey.
ReplyDeleteThat's probably why Pres. Obama only used "ISIL".
My "D" word? "Dismal".
ReplyDeleteThat's the reality of dealing with the fundamentalist Islamic threat. Sure, at this point we could turn the the ISIS-occupied regions of the Middle East to glass, but that would hardly be the end of it. In a short period of time, ISIS would be supplanted and replaced by something just as ideologically hideous just as the Al Qaeda supplanted the Taliban, which inspired Boko Haram, etc, etc. What has been happening over the last quarter-century is the re-ignition of a war that has been going since the 7th century. ISIS is just the latest, most obvious eruption.
The problem with ISIS is that to many who are sympathetic to the fundamental values of Islam, ISIS appears to be winning. This emboldens some who might otherwise be called "moderate", and encourages many who are already marginally unhinged.
On a very related topic: As a young econ student many decades ago, I'd engage anti-oil leftists would argue that America sending billions of dollars a year to the Middle East to feed our "addiction to oil" was politically destabilizing. And to a degree, they were right, but not the way they assumed. However, I'd respond that "If you really want to see what real destabilization looks like, wait until we stop sending billions of dollars a year to oil exporting countries." The vast amount of American wealth transferred to the Middle East and North Africa allowed the indigenous populations to explode along with the political dysfunction. What would happen of the flow of money in were to suddenly stop?
And today, with America largely energy independent thanks to the fracking boom and oil around $30-a-barrel instead of over $100, we're starting to find out what that meant:
"As the crash in commodities prices spreads economic woe across the developing world, Europe could face a wave of migration that will eclipse today’s refugee crisis, says Klaus Schwab, executive chairman of the World Economic Forum."
What is going to happen to Europe when it's indigenous population which isn't even replacing itself is overrun with "refugees" from the Middle East and Africa? What will happen to America?
Again, "dismal".
Next up: Kerry will warn ISIS leaders they face being placed in "timeout" if they don't cease misbehaving. I am certain that will finally get their attention.

ReplyDeleteFrankenKerry would have done more damage to Iran by sending James Taylor there.
ReplyDelete@Thomas, it's already happening:
ReplyDeleteOregon Folk Singer Heading to Syria to Sing Songs of Peace to ISIS
"An Oregon folk singer plans to leave next week to serenade the Islamic State, and he intends to bring the black-clad barbarians a prayerful message of peace — despite a warning from the State Department that his life could be in danger."
Personally, I think this is a great way to thin out our population of idiots.
Yeah, next he'll tell us they plan to 'bondo' all those dents they put in ISIS/ISIL!
ReplyDelete@Jim G
ReplyDeleteNow are we talking about "professional" dentists, or can other dentists also participate? The reason I ask is that I keep hearing a radio ad for a teeth whitening product which boasts that "thousand of professional dentists" use it.
I wasn't aware that there were "amateur" dentists, but now that I am, I'm getting out my dremel tool and putting up a sign on my driveway offering drive through dental procedures. (Procedures will NOT be covered by Obamacare.)
Give Kerry a break. I hear he is a great butler and he plays a mean harpsichord.
ReplyDeleteKerry believes 2016 will see Islamic State 'seriously dented'
ReplyDeletehttp://www.reuters.com/article/us-mideast-crisis-usa-islamic-state-idUSKCN0UZ2JE
Asked at a media roundtable on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, whether this year would see the end of Islamic State, Kerry replied, referring to the militant group by an Arabic acronym:
"I think that by the end of 2016, our goal of very seriously denting Daesh ...will be achieved.
As Winston Churchill might put it, if he were alive today, these inspiring words:
"We shall go on to the end. We shall dent them in France, we shall dent them on the seas and oceans, we shall dent them with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall dent them on the beaches, we shall dent them on the landing grounds, we shall dent them in the fields and in the streets, we shall dent them in the hills; we shall never surrender..."
RE: New film "13 Hours". I saw it this weekend; am now trying to find more detailed factual information that has not been pre-washed or spun. That's not easy to do. But it does seem they pretty well stuck with the basic facts at-hand in the movie and didn't over-spin the politics. The film-fighting was surely Hollywooded? I don't know. Any Comments? Better resources to find the truth?
