Letter Bomb

Despite Barack Obama's claim that he was "surprised, disappointed, and angry" over the release of the Lockerbie bomber - who blew up Pan Am flight 103, killing 270 people (including 189 Americans) - a previously secret letter has been revealed that shows his administration pre-approved the bomber's release to a hero's welcome in Libya.

The fact that the president was being less than truthful isn't exactly news; even
Hope n' Change had the story nearly a year ago. What is new is the release of a letter the US government sent to Scottish authorities, proving that they were well aware of the bomber's impending release, and found it "far preferable" to the bomber's being transferred to a Libyan prison.

The release was said to be on "compassionate grounds," since the bomber presumably had only months to live. However, doctors are now saying that the bomber may live
another 10 years or even longer.

Sadly, this means that a mass-murdering terrorist got away with his crime.

It remains to be seen whether Barack Obama will get away with his.

Barack Obama is surprised, disappointed, and angry that we now know
that he helped make possible the hero's welcome for the killer of 270 people.

  1. Bishop Fulton Sheen once made wonderful remarks about the dangers of false compassion (in fact, it's on YouTube). There was nothing compassionate about letting the bomber return to Libya and in fact, anyone who wants compassion with a MASS MURDER is himself mentally sick.

  2. "the bomber presumably had only months to live. However, doctors are now saying that the bomber may live another 10 years or even longer."

Must have been a mix-up about the health care plans the bomber was presumed to be under. Right now, in the USA, someone with prostate cancer should have an excellent 10-year survival chance. I'm sure that the health plan that Obama aspires to will have a much shorter expected survival rate, and Britain's National Health Care System is trending downward in most regards.

What I'm saying, that part is just a minor "oops" - Obama was just "forward-thinking" to the day when someone with prostate cancer will have much shorter life expentancy in the USA than in Libya. And prostate cancer mostly affects older guys, anyway, so what the hey!

  3. obama should be hanged for treason! He should be brought up on murder charges too. He did not kill them but he approved the killings by helping the person who did it go free. What difference does it make if the person is about to die or not? They should be punished. That is the liberal's way.

  4. Spinelessobama- Whoops! Slow down! Before going any further, we need to repeat that about the only thing not acceptable in this comment area is suggestions of physical violence against anyone. But your post has been left up so we can remind everyone.

With that out of the way, we find ourselves in the unusual position of actually defending Obama in regards to your accusations; he did not initiate the bomber's release...it was already in the works and he simply didn't fight it. Then he pretended not to know about the deal so he could proclaim, Casablanca-style, that he was "Shocked! Shocked!"

His degree of involvement doesn't make him culpable in the deaths from Pan Am flight 103, but it dishonors the dead and gives "aid and comfort" to terrorists. And at the very least, he should be forced to confess what he knew about the release, when he knew it, and why he lied to the American people about an issue of such importance.

  5. Stilton,

Sorry about that. It hit me like a ton of bricks because obama did not care about the 270 people getting killed. He cares more about the killer than the ones killed.

  6. I'm not calling for violence against anyone, but I do sometimes wonder if Mossad will accept private contracts.

  7. Spinelessobama- Understood, and we're also angry. I think Rush Limbaugh nailed this topic today when he said that the president simply doesn't care about, or give weight to, anything that happened before he was elected. Therefore, the 270 victims were ancient history to him...but allowing the release of the bomber could help his current agenda of showing the Muslim world that he's a different kind of American president.

My Dog Brewski- Oh great, now we have to juggle rhetorical questions (grin). In any event, we highly doubt that Mossad hires out for private parties.

  8. youre right, Stilt, Obama showed our enemies just how "compassionate" he is toward someone with a deadly disease....yeh, he is about as compassionate as an Obamacare Death Panel.

  10. he's a different kind of American president

Yes. Yes he is. First, he's the first non-white president. Second, he very may well be the first COMMUNIST president. Finally, everyday he steams along without releasing documents to prove otherwise: he may be the first non-American as president. That last makes him a criminal against the constitution; however, one might argue that his every action since taking office have been crimes against the constitution and the people of the United States - WE THE PEOPLE.

Me? I believe he is all of that, plus a traitor and therefor worthy of a traitor's fate.

  11. Emmentaler- We agree. And while we don't condone or encourage violence, we're extremely keen on due process and court-approved punishment.

  12. I am of the opinion that due process should never take more than a week, and in some very blatant cases, such as we are discussing here, 15 minutes should be just about right.

  13. Dr.D - The Constitution guarantees the right to a "speedy trial," so it seems the founding fathers are on your side.
