Liberals who have been vigorously calling for the building of a Ground Zero mosque for the "healing of America" were appalled to hear Glenn Beck dare to mention Christianity in his call for "Restoring Honor" to our country.
And what a call it was. Even news organizations that loathe Glenn Beck and conservatives were estimating 300,000 in attendance for Saturday's event at the Lincoln Memorial, with other estimates as high as one million.
A petulant USA Today described the crowd as "overwhelmingly white," while failing to mention that the racially-mixed crowd could more accurately be described as "overwhelmingly patriotic."
The tone of Beck's event was a mixture of religious revival, history lesson, and motivational speech...delivered to an enthusiastic crowd which was entirely peaceful, entirely positive, and (as usual) tidied up the national mall before leaving.
Because the "Restoring Honor" event was pro-America, pro-troops, and non-partisan (Barack Obama's name was never mentioned in 3 1/2 hours of speeches), we hope that the liberal media will show as much of an open mind about Beck's faith-based initiative as they have toward Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf's proposed Ground Zero mosque.
Yeah...that'll happen.
America shows its support for "Restoring Honor." Nicely done, Glenn.

GORGEOUS! JUST GORGEOUS!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd Possibly high as 1 million? We figured, given the way Liberals estimate things - but I never heard an actual estimate that high. but it's very easy to believe.
I'm from Texas and not solely because of that, but with many other things, we didn't make it there, but watched all we could and prayed for you guys, so much! Just so very proud, and I really feel a very solid something in my spirit - best said as "Absolutely never ever the Same, ever again."
God bless you all, Psalm 91 - the Soldier's Shield - Protection and Blessings on all of you who went, helped, anything! God bless you all.

This morning, our local Democrat Party Document (newspaper) printed an AP story that described the crowd as "mostly white" and would not even mention the crowd size. They focused half the article on "several thousand" counter-protesters led by noted race-baiting poverty pimp Al Sharpton. By the tone of the article, you could tell they had hoped there would be some uncivil or violent interaction between the groups but all they could muster was an incident of "taunting". They ended the article by highlighting the one T-shirt they saw that referenced throwing Obama out. Poor babies of the LSM...they must have been crying over their coke straws and cheap whiskey last night.
ReplyDeleteYeah yesterday I saw that "mostly white" thing and I'm like "HOW DOES THAT MATTER?!" I only heard the "several thousand" too.
ReplyDeleteI keep saying...by the time Obama gets out of office...everybody will be racist against somebody for some reason.
Our local paper started the article, "Tens of thousands of people..." I immediately jumped to the end of the article to see who wrote it. New York Times of course. The article was okayish, with equal time given to the Al Sharpton crowd described as "smaller but no less spirited." (Hey, guys, how MUCH smaller?) Anyway, in paragraph four, the two sides come briefly together near the Lincoln monument and the estimate of Beck's crowd becomes "tens of thousands, if not hundred of thousands..." (Hey guys, why not lead with that estimate? You appear to be deliberately burying some information.) In reporting the obvious, the Beck crowd was described as "almost all of them white" and the Sharpton crowd was described as "nearly all of them black," no doubt to give the "appearance" of fair and accurate reporting.
ReplyDeleteI did see on estimate of a million just before I went to be this morning.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand CBS had an authoritative estimat of 87,00, plus or minus 9,000.
Yeah, I know--I never watch them or read their stuff--somebody else mentioned and I couldn't believe it, so I went an looked.
None of the estimates include the people like me that watched it on Facebook/Ustream (more than 130,000 at the peak I think), CSPAN and I don't know what else.
Larry- The "authoritative" estimate quoted on CBS was gotten from an aerial photography company (AirPhotosLive.com) that doesn't list "crowd estimation" among the services offered on their website.
ReplyDeleteOther, more scientific, analyses point to a number closer to 300,000.
In any case, you'd think that so many people coming together to celebrate America and dedicate themselves to our constitutional values would be seen as good news by the media instead of an annoyance to be buried or lied about.
The medias are left wing socialist and back Obama and his followers. They've played a very important part in the demise of America over the last 60 years and will continue to do so. This is why I always seek my news from other sources than ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN or MSNBC. www.americagonestupid.com
ReplyDeleteWhen the Rally began Beck said that the mall held 200,000 and was full, the field behind them held b/n 250,000-300,000 was full and that crowds were filling in towards the Washington Monument. There was one time 140,000+ online watching on facebook and other media outlets online or more. So overall, I could see almost 600,000 or more there.
ReplyDeleteNot bad! I watched it online for as long as I could b/c I had to leave due to plans already in place. Watching it made my heart swell!
God Bless America!
Over at Brutally Honest, he ponders where the liberals are on this:
ReplyDeleteWhat's not to love about Sharia law?
Some quotes at the link:
Recently we learned that the Imam at the center of the Ground Zero Mosque kerfluffle had said this about Sharia law:
“Throughout my discussions with contemporary Muslim theologians, it is clear an Islamic state can be established in more than just a single form or mold. It can be established through a kingdom or a democracy. The important issue is to establish the general fundamentals of Sharia that are required to govern.”
In that same piece, he's quoted as saying the following:
“America’s Constitution and system of governance uphold the core principles of Islamic law.”
Nonie Darwish at Big Peace* shares some of the tenets of Sharia that should be read by all... I excerpt but a small portion and can't help but wonder as I read along where in hell the liberals are on this:
19- Homosexuality is punishable by death.
20- There is no age limit for marriage of girls under Sharia. The marriage contract can take place anytime after birth and consummated at age 8 or 9.
21- Rebelliousness on the part of the wife nullifies the husband’s obligation to support her, gives him permission to beat her and keep her from leaving the home.
22- Divorce is only in the hands of the husband and is as easy as saying: “I divorce you” and becomes effective even if the husband did not intend it.
23- There is no community property between husband and wife and the husband’s property does not automatically go to the wife after his death.
24- A woman inherits half what a man inherits.
25- A man has the right to have up to 4 wives and she has no right to divorce him even if he is polygamous.
26- The dowry is given in exchange for the woman’s sexual organs.
27- A man is allowed to have sex with slave women and women captured in battle, and if the enslaved woman is married her marriage is annulled.
28- The testimony of a woman in court is half the value of a man.
29- A woman looses custody if she remarries.
30- To prove rape, a woman must have 4 male witnesses.
31- A rapist may only be required to pay the bride-money (dowry) without marrying the rape victim.
32- A Muslim woman must cover every inch of her body which is considered “Awrah,” a sexual organ. Some schools of Sharia allow the face and some don’t.
33- A Muslim man is forgiven if he kills his wife caught in the act of adultery. However, the opposite is not true for women since he “could be married to the woman he was caught with.”
*Sharia for Dummies
I just watched the Chris Wallace interview with Glenn Beck. I thought the questions were pointed but fair, and Beck answered honestly and well. I did note that Wallace began the interview saying there were "tens of thousands" at the event. Then, in a later question to Beck, said "hundreds of thousands." I don't know if the estimate grew because better numbers had just come in? (The interview was held right after the event.) Anyway, I felt I needed to share this since I had been snarky earlier about the NYTimes reporting similar figures. (I will give Fox News the benefit of the doubt.)
ReplyDeleteFunny how the liberal minds works. When there is no truth, no right or wrong, just endless shades of gray, any position or argument can be justified.
ReplyDeleteI doubt the Iraq war protests would be considered "overwhelmingly white" or Dr. King's marches overwhelmingly black.
When liberals get together to protest, march or rally it is the highest form of patriotism, even that patriotism takes the form of vile, America hating, outrage. Conservatives gather and they are immediately labeled hate mongers, racists and traitors.
I don't agree with everything Beck says or does, but the man is sincere and loves his country. Not some vision of our country dreamed up in some class room by some professor or an actor in Hollywood or some progressive journalist, but the America envisioned by the founding fathers. When we start re-envisioning and reinventing the ideals that made this country so great and ignoring the lessons of history we are doomed to fail. On that, Beck is dead on.
It was so hopeful to see such a huge crowd of AMERICANS at that rally...it is blatantly OBVIOUS that the folks are sick and tired of all this anti-american crap!
ReplyDeleteI truly feel that all the Obama ass-kissers in the media, his cabinet, the dems, and wherever they may roam....your time is growing short. The danger there is....when you dont have much time left, you do wild, desperate things. We'll see. GOD BLESS THIS COUNTRY
THANK YOU for posting! Your blog is a Must Read!

With Liberals, any religion is fines - as long as it is not Christian. They're not anti-religion. Just anti-Christian because Christianity is very American - and, well, you know how they feel about America...
ReplyDeleteGood on Glenn Beck and crew. Too bad sharpton didn't experience a catastrophic life impairment on his way to or from the event. We could use a few less of his ilk.
I THOUGHT THE MEETING IN WASHINGTON WITH GLEN BECK WAS WONDERFUL . AMERICA WAS STARTED ON CHRISTEAN PRINCIPALS AND IS A REPUBLIC. THE PROGRESSIVES/LIBERAL/COMMUNIST WANT TO TRANSFORM AMERICA INTO A SOCIAL GOVERNMENT THAT WE KNOW DOES NOT WORK. ITS TIME FOR AMERICAN PATRIOTS TO STAND UP FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.WE NEED TO STAY A FREE NATION UNDER GOD'S GUI DENSE WITH GODLY PEOPLE RUNNING THE COUNTRY.I THOUGHT DR MARTIN LUTHER KING'S NIECE REALLY HAD A GREAT SPEECH.DR KING WAS ALL ABOUT LOVE AND PIECE FOR ALL PEOPLE.IMMIGRANTS SHOULD BE WELCOME BUT SHOULD COME TO AMERICA LEGALLY. WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO LOWER OUR STANDARDS AS OTHER COUNTRIES HAVE THEIR OWN LAWS AND STANDARDS THAT WE FALLOW TO ENTER THEIR COUNTRY.

I heard NPR news Saturday eve, and they said there were "10,000" people at the rally. This is interesting, coming from NPR. After the so-called "million mom march", the very next day there was no mention of that march on NPR--obviously, that march was a complete failure, so NPR refused to point that out. Also, they mentioned that there was no animosity between the Beck rally and the Sharpton people. Interesting....
