Letter Bomb
In response to Glenn Beck's hugely successful rally on "Restoring Honor," a liberal group calling itself "One Nation Working Together" is planning a counter-march on 10/2/10 to hang on to the "Change We Voted For."
One Nation Working Together describes itself as a "grassroots" operation, which oddly seems to be made up entirely of unions and hard-left organizations. In other words, to quote Nancy Pelosi, they're more "astro-turf" than grassroots.
But the logo they've created is odd to say the least: a quasi-American flag in which the field of stars has been replaced with the letter "N". Ouch!
Which got us thinking: if someone at the Glenn Beck rally had carried this flag, the quick-to-see-racism mainstream media would have had a feeding frenzy.
But actually, the "N" in their logo is a theoretically clever graphic pairing of the number "1" and the letter "n," to suggest "one nation" if you stare at it for a long, long time.
But strangely, Hope n' Change was just sure that we'd seen a similar design somewhere in the past. And then it hit us...
Maybe their logo has captured the essence of the "Change They Voted For" after all...

We always KNOW they will top themselves, even though we reach places where we cannot imagine ourselves HOW they can do it - yet they always do!
ReplyDeleteStunningly, without surprise, easily and efficiently.
A giant N word. Amazing! Simply Amazing!
Who'da Thunk it! Seriously!
1N - 1 Nation --- O - Obama = NO!
Right?
Right? ???
Obama formin' the little "n" - just way too hilarious.
ReplyDeleteWhose mind works like yours, Stilton? Too funny - too true!!!
I still love that pic. As my Daddy said, "Considering what Cash 4 Clunkers did for the Japanese Auto industry, the Emperor should have bowed to Obama!"
ReplyDeleteA "counter march". Counter to what...restoring honor? So what are they gathering for if not the status quo of big-government, statist, high-taxation, no-jobs, graft, greed and corruption. Now that's something to protest for.
ReplyDeleteIdiots.
+1 to Hoosier Dad...
ReplyDeletei find it perverse that they feel the need to mimic (mock?) the US flag. shows lack of inspiration. either create your own banner, or proudly display the stars in stripes in any of its past versions.
ReplyDeletei'm going to take a shot in the dark here and guess that i know who is funding this tripe. (hint: everyone look in the mirror).
the honorable people who came for beck's rally (even though i don't like the guy) united peacably to demonstrate, and appeared at their own expense. this rally is your bailout dollars at work.
I'm so sick of gubment sponsored bull shit, and a President bitterly blaming all on his predecessor. All the while this little Socialist SOB (that stands for Son Of A Bitch)is digging us further and further into the ground.
ReplyDeleteThis little march is like Obama putting his thumbs in his ears and sticking his tongue out at a huge percentage of Americans that refuse to see this little SOB (that stands for son of a bitch)as the Angel of Light.
Don't think that after November when Junior has his hat handed to him anything is going to change--he'll have the Socialist fires burning until the last man is shoved out of his Executive Branch.
Can't wait to see the media estimations of the "crowd" on THIS one....
ReplyDeleteThe first thing I thought of when you said the flag had an "N" on it was NOT "nation"....
Wasn't it Einstein that said there was no limit to human stupidity? And here we have another example of people going out of their way to prove him right.
ReplyDeleteO N W T ??? Puleeeeeaze.
Can't they even try..just once..to have an original, logical, reasonable thought? They find it better to be a mindless lemmings worshiping at the alter of entitlements.
Shit. That's it. I'm buying a house in Canada. It's painful (1) that they are currently more conservative than the US, (2) have a better economy, and (3) a less laughable government.
ReplyDeleteTables seem to have turned, and the laughing stock is no longer to the north.
BTW: Cash For Clunkers not only favored the Japanese, with whom we have been locked in an economic fight-to-the-death since WWII, but it drove a nail into the wallet of anyone needing a dependable, cheap car: they destroyed those by pouring liquid glass into the crank case. Anyone out there besides me trying to buy a vehicle for recently-of-driving-age offspring? Yeah - you know what I'm talking about.
It's become harder and harder to write these nuances of 0bama policy off to the law of unintended consequences. All of this can't possibly be happenstance spun out of buffoonery. They are hard at work tearing this country from its very roots.
...and did anyone notice that they have Charlie Rangel on their website to add credibility?
ReplyDeleteAnd Suzy... You watch, the MSM will estimate the crowd at well over a million,,, easy!
Whew! Please, Wizard, send me back to Kansas!
Emmentaler L. - you got that right about Cash for Clunkers - friend was over last night with a 2003 Toyota Tundra that he just bought used - 100,000 miles. Took him 9 months of scouting dealerships in our metro area & Craigslist. He said most vehicles were on either end of the spectrum - real clunkers that should be scrapped (but weren't, because guess what - their owners can't buy a new vehicle, even with a Cash for Clunker payment) & the other vehicles were late models that were selling for about $5000 less than what a new one would cost. Cash for Clunkers was just a lap dance from Obama for the UAW. I saw a lot of perfect vehicles that were scrapped - people gave up vehicles that were worth a lot more than the Cash for Clunker payment.
ReplyDeleteNow, here's something else depressing the used car market. Our paper just had an article about auto dealers in this metro area who have a new problem - motivated buyers (with money & quality trade-ins) but no inventory, because one of the compenents of rescuing GM & Chrysler was that the manufacturers had to reduce their inventories. So, people are coming to the dealers looking for a car, but there aren't many to choose from. Some dealers said they could sell about 30% more vehicles if they had enough nventory.
But, maybe Obama will succeed in reinstituting higher tax rates on the "wealthy", so they probably won't be in the mood to go buy a nice new car. Like the rest of us, will just keep driving what we have until the wheels fall off.
Sorry to go so far off topic here, I just couldn't let it rest.
Man, what was done with the logo - pure comic genius. Would have never thought of that myself, but once you see it, it is very real.
I have this theory that Stilton Jarlsberg is actually a computer at Comedy Central that is on the fritz. On the fritz because they're just a "funnier" version of MSNBC and CNN, so anything conservative from a computer of theirs must be a glitch...
ReplyDeleteYes, yes: I forgot to include my commendation to Stilton for his version of the "n". You, sir, have a great eye, and a stunning wit.
Man, I agree!!! This is the most uplifting blog on the net!
ReplyDeleteThese progressives-in-power have shown us all what they are about. There will always be those who would take this route, hopefully the folks here in this country will remember this for a long time (at least till the next generation or two, and it might happen all over again), but, for now, they have shown their colors and it aint pretty! No creativity, just talking points...no compassion, just politics, and on and on it goes. Come on, November!!!!
Readers- I've got to admit that it was a great moment when I realized how much that "n" looked like Obama taking a bow. This blog can actually be hard work sometimes...but when something like that springs to mind, it's fun to be me! And of course, most of that fun comes from being able to share with you!
ReplyDeleteEveryone attending the rally should wear a Nebraska football helmet. It's got a big N on it, too.
ReplyDeleteOr Napoleon hats...

Baaaaa! Suzy. GMTA. My FIRST thought when I read it. But it will be more like 10 million showed up because the want to "Keep the Change "THEY Voted For."
Their socialist commies--of course they do! And Rush called him the first week after the Coranation: "I hope he fails." And failed he has.
Great job on the bowing thing to Stilton. And there they go again. Taking the flag and basturdizing it again. 1N and NOT the 50 states that were, still are individual but make up one hell-of-country that is the city set on the hill for the world to see. The only of individual freedom. FREEDOM! ! !
Looks approprite to me as long as the N is in refernce to Obama and his socialist democratic party
ReplyDeleteAnyone notice that they came up with another new logo in the same font as their new dnc web site... which uses the same circle as the obama logo?
ReplyDeleteWe can also expect that, AS USUAL, they'll use ONE sign in their march, printed by one or more union/s and handed out to them, and they'll all wear the same t-shirts (union logos)... They'll be paid to protest by the union, and they show up in a union provided bus. After all, the unions got two car companies that were taken from their rightful owners and 'given' the them, cash 4 clunkers so folks could by cars 'em, brand new seats on the boards of private companies, boatloads of cash written into every stimulous bill... WHY WOULDN'T THEY MARCH TO KEEP THE CHANGE THAT WAS GIVEN TO THEM? It's the rest of us who got the shaft.
