New Dog, Old Tricks
In Sunday's NY Times magazine article, Barack Obama admits that one of the failings of his first two years in office is that he concentrated on pure policy so much that he didn't pay enough attention to politics. This from the man who routinely describes elected Republicans as "bomb throwers" supported by "shadowy" foreign powers.
But to prove beyond doubt that he's willing to play political games now, the president has just declared that he wants every senior citizen in America to get another $250 "stimulus" check, and he's making that offer just before the midterm elections. What a stunning coincidence!
Unfortunately for Mr. Obama, senior citizens are not quite so easily fooled...and a politician's empty promise of $250 will not make them forget or forgive the fact that Obamacare has just stripped $500 billion out of Medicare in order to provide healthcare to señors instead of seniors.
Which is why the voters who use walkers are likely to take out their anger on every Democrat who's running.

Seniors vs Señors - THAT was a nice one!
ReplyDeleteHave to wonder if this is the same bunch that got the last bunch of checks, including what, 750,000 dead people?
I can see the point, I suppose, he had to thank them, they VOTED for him after all.
Pretty sorry state of affairs when the dead change their minds, need to be re-bribed..
Wow! 250 whole dollars. That might be enough to cover one prescription for the month. Party on, seniors.
ReplyDelete$250? Democrats sure go for cheap these days.
ReplyDeleteyeah..I'll try not to spend it all in one place! What a dope!
ReplyDeleteIf I could really count on it, I would contribute the whole thing to Sharron Angle's campaign against Harry Reid.
ReplyDeleteMy supplement went up $70./month! That $250. might as well be $2.50!!
ReplyDeleteDang! It just keeps happening! Every time I ask myself, "Does O'Buttmunch REALLY think we are that stupid?", he does something like this. Folks, he REALLY DOES think we are that stupid.
ReplyDeleteLet's see, $250 would buy, what, about 30 seconds of one of his vacations???
I guess what scares me the most is the people who fall for his crap, and will vote for libs again because they don't have to eat dog food for one month.
I think you're on to something there,Colby....most folks don't pay attention like we do here...its unfortunate, but true I'm sure. Just another reason I would rather some people stay away from the polls if they havent educated themselves about what really is happening!
ReplyDeletemuch as I like bashing Spud it wasn't he that has been screaming "where's my COLA?" when there wasn't any inflation. duh. People have no conception of even the simplest mathematical concepts. You're supposed to get a Cost of Living Adjustment ---ooops, make that an increase. We had a teeny bit of DEflation and checks were actually cut by a few dollars and Washington DC almost exploded. Want to have some fun? Get somebody started on how it is that most of your payment is interest at the beginning of a 30 year loan. "That's so they get their INTEREST first." Yup.. I mean Duh.
ReplyDeleteI guess he figures he'll get it back in social security once death panels start.
ReplyDeleteMy husband got that Social Security "stimulus" before and then when April 15th rolled around IT WAS DEDUCTED IN IT'S ENTIRETY FROM OUR REFUND. So, it was NOT a stimulus for us, but rather a loan. I guess we should be happy they didn't charge us any interest. So this time around I think we'll just hang on to it for when they force us to return it.
ReplyDeleteReaders- Great comments...and it seems like no one is particularly impressed with this $250 bribe. Oops, I meant "stimulus"!
