Taliburned

For the second time in two years, American interests have been badly served when it turned out that a theoretically important leader was, in fact, a complete imposter.

In this case, the United States and Afghan government had been negotiating with -
and giving bags of money to - Mullah Akhtar Muhammad Mansour, who was supposedly a high-ranking Taliban official. Only - oops! - he wasn't really.

The imposter flew on NATO aircraft and met with top officials (when he wasn't cashing those hefty checks), giving the U.S. hope that great progress was being made in the ongoing negotiations with the Taliban.

Unfortunately, it turns out that the imposter was simply a shopkeeper from a tiny town in Pakistan, who presumably hires himself out as a
pretend "Mullah Akhtar Muhammad Mansour" to children's birthday parties, where he charms the guests by blowing up balloons and the occasional room full of civilians.

But no real harm was done, except for all of the money lost, the reversal of our hopes for a negotiated peace in Afghanistan, and the ridicule of the world for being so easily duped by an alleged "leader" with bogus documentation.

Again.

  2. And our four year national nightmare just goes on and on. I don't even care anymore if the jug-eared turd is American on paper. He actions show that he's not American in his heart.
BTW, I say we get our money back from that Afghan impostor by any means necessary. A lesson must be taught that it's just not nice to f**k with us.

  3. alan markus- Glad you liked today's entry. I'm afraid the only "best of" collection of cartoons is the file the government is keeping to build a case accusing me of "mocking public officials."

Philip- Great links. And I don't care if libs would sneeringly call me a "birther," but Obama's paperwork has never passed the sniff test. And nobody spends the money he's spent to hide a document that is perfectly legit.

Angry Hoosier Dad- Very well put. The alleged president's actual paperwork is almost beside the point now.

  5. Our military should do a sting operation in
Ass-ghanistan and set up in a cave to give "free money" to Taliban members for their guns. When they came in to collect - shoot 'em. We'd at least get rid of the stupid ones.
