Out To Launch

After posing the question "When is a war not a war?" with his Libyan invasion, Barack Obama is now causing people to ask "When is a missile defense system not a missile defense system?" And the answer is: "when you give the controls to the people who might shoot missiles at you."

Because Russia is demanding (not
asking, as would be the case if we had a president more intimidating than a kitten wearing a pink ribbon) that the United States give them the ultimate decision-making authority about whether or not we can launch our own anti-ballistic missiles when either we, or our allies, are under attack.

Perhaps the Russians got the idea when Secretary of State Hillary Clinton previously gifted them with a large red "launch" button, which was
supposed to have the Russian word for "reset" on it, but actually said "overload." Oops!

Or maybe the Russians figured out that Barack Hussein Obama is a lousy negotiator and decided to really go for broke ("We'll tell him we want to rape America's women, kill America's dogs, and get control of their missile defenses... and then let him talk us out of the women and dogs!")

In any event, the mere existence of stories like this one make
our heads explode.

  1. WE can count on PresiDEBT Zero to sell out America's interests each and every time. Why should we think he wouldn't sell out to the Ruskies on this?
    Appalling.

  3. @Robert, that was my first thought.

So, but, isn't this then impeachable?

So, it's not "the bombing starts in five minutes," but, "you can have our bombs in five minutes"?

    Egad.

  5. @Louis, Robert, & Jim Hlavac- This isn't impeachable because Obama hasn't agreed to it...yet. But in ongoing negotiations, the Russians have said "you've got to give us final authority on whether you can launch missile defenses when you detect an incoming threat." I try to imagine them "demanding" this of Ronald Reagan, and I actually laugh. But Obama ain't no Reagan...and I'm not laughing.

Consider also the recent debacle with Obama's Libyan action; he scurried to create an international coalition to hide behind, but chose not to even speak to Congress or the American people before going to war. And he clearly doesn't care how his very own war will turn out as long as he can use NATO as a fallguy to cover his ass.

That's why it's so frightening to think that he might actually turn over the keys for missile defense (again, not just for us but also our allies) to Russia in the name of strengthening another "international alliance."

The idea would appeal to him, because - at all times - we have to remember that Obama's ambitions are global. America, that dreadful little country, is only a stepping stone for him.

  6. Has anyone at least postulated any argument as to why this would be a "good" idea? Is there nothing that this government isn't prepared to outsource?

  7. I'm sure Hillary wants the Russians to have the veto over our missile defense, too. The question is, do Hillary and Barack Hussein want that because they think they will get "peace" that way, or do they want it because it will help destroy America? These people have the stench of treason all over themselves.

  8. After I posted my first comment I went to the link and read the article. And it would seem to me that if the Rooskies asked for something like this they thought that there is a possibility they might get it. And I have to agree with them. They might get that very thing. And I still have to wonder, who IS this guy? (king hussein). I believe he would actually agree to something like this. Remember the apology tour?
And soros has BILLIONS incested in Russia. (OK maybe I meant "invested" but got a little Freudian there, or maybe I was right the first time). I never brought up impeachment but since someone else did, can we impeach him for just being a general, all-around, lying piece of crap? He's kind of a 9 to nooner kind of ruler.
And you could still put his resume in a fortune cookie.
I just re-read my comment for editing purposes and it struck me that there might be song in the second to last sentence, "9 to nooner ruler"
How 'bout it creative folks out there?

  9. It would have take Ronald Reagan about 3 seconds to tell Russia to "Take a flying f**k at a rolling donut!" Hell, even Jimmy Carter might have told them the same thing.

We all now know for certain that the U.S. is THE laughingstock of the rest of the world. Our first clue was France taking the lead in Libya, and now this. I'll bet Medvedev and Putin pissed their pants from laughing after this request was made.

  10. @John the Econ- The reason this might be a good idea is that it reduces the chance we might fire our anti-missile defenses for a false alarm. The Russians would be able to immediately confirm "No, no - those are real missiles we're sending your way."

@Robert- As you say, the Russians are asking because it's not unthinkable that Obama would sign off on this. That's the really scary part.

  11. Totally unbelievable!!!!Guess I missed this item. But I know with Obama and Friends it is totally possible, sad to say.

Man, if we get a good man in there with common sense, he is going to be considered pretty boring I think! I'll take that anytime tho over this!!!!

  13. Have you ever noticed that Obama and Steve Urkel have never been seen in the same room at the same time? Maybe that's why the Commi.....er.....Russians want an override switch, they think Obama and Urkel are one and same.

"Mr. President, the missiles are launched and headed this way!!"

    "Did I do that??"

  14. Stilt...KABLAM! Yes, our heads should have exploded ages ago. How much more of this can we take? It’s like we are having one of those surreal dreams (nightmares) that we just can’t seem to wake up from. It keeps going on & on and just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse…

@ Bruce in KC - good one

  15. BEFORE he took office Mr.Obama sent a letter to Putin promising ILLEGALLY to remove the anti missile shield protecting the old Eastern Europe. He (PUTIN) PUBLISHED IT and laughed in his face. Putin thought it must be a trick. Well, Remember Mikhail I told you then and I tell you now -- our sub commanders can and will shred your country like cabbage. Got it, Big Boy?? This guy runs the USA like your child decides what he will study each year.

  16. @moronpolitics- Great catch! I'd completely forgotten about that, but sure enough here's the story: "President Obama sent a secret letter to Russia's president last month (Feb 09) suggesting that he would back off deploying a new missile defense system in Eastern Europe if Moscow would help stop Iran from developing long-range weapons, American officials said Monday."

In other words, even then Obama was offering to give up real defenses in return for empty promises.
