The Rat To Remain Silent

Generally speaking, there are two ways to get over the jitters when it comes to public speaking. The first is to imagine every member of the audience in their underwear...although this method has fallen out of favor recently, because who the heck wants to talk in front of a room filled with creepy Anthony Weiner types?

The second method is to warm up the crowd with a really good joke, which is what Michelle Obama did at a recent campaign fundraiser when she said that her husband never takes a day off.

Except, of course, for dozens of vacations and...oh, yeah!...just a little golf. Way back in March, it was estimated that this president had already spent the equivalent of seven 40-hour weeks on the golf course since taking office. So maybe the first lady doesn't actually see "worry creasing his face," but instead sees that he's developed a squint from staring into the sun too long while driving golfballs.

Still, campaigning and fundraising isn't really about telling the truth. In fact, Michelle isn't even being truthful about campaigning and fundraising, because she's having taxpayers pick up the bills to send her and her entourage to small, pointless events which just happen to be near her big campaign stops...thereby allowing all of us to underwrite her husband's fundraising efforts.

In any event, Hope n' Change is sorry to hear that Barack Obama never takes a day off, and we promise the first lady that we'll do everything in our power to give him plenty of days off as soon as possible.

Even when golfing, the president's brow is creased by worries.

    No. Never just one day!

  2. Obama reminds us how desperately we crave leadership in this country...by his total lack of same.

Amen! AMEN, I say to you!

And just how much is all that golf costing us, the taxpayers? Probably much less than the jet setting adventures to New York, Europe, Chicago et al in search of suitable fare for the r0yal family's collective palate, but still: I can't even afford to take my family BOWLING thanks to the Jackass In Chief.

(I would count the JIC's salary as one of those losses, but I put that in the "sunk cost" column shortly after the election...)

  4. Never takes a day off.....WHAT F***ING WORLD does she live on?? I wish I could have as much leisure time as Mr "Do-Nothing" Obama!!!!

  5. Hey, give the guy a break, you try destroying the greatest country ever and see how much down time you need.

Maybe he golfs so much because he's preparing for his career on the tour after he, hopefully, gets run out of office.

It always astounded me that he went on and on about inheriting these problems. He didn't inherit anything. He wanted the job, he campaigned for the job. He didn't inherit shit!

  6. He must be a couch potato because if what she says is true then he must think that playing golf is work. I bet he had kids just so he didn't have to get up to get the remote.

  7. There's just noting to say to this, is there?

I'll try anyway. When reality isn't real, what's left? On what common ground can there be a joining together to save this land when there is no common ground? When there is no truth, no right, no wrong ... where is the guide? If everything is "relative" then nothing really matters ... nothing is important.

  8. GAAAAAAAAAA!!!! I can't take anymore. I'm with Dave; this ignorant windbag gets up in front of a bunch of anti-American socialist airheads and spouts this crap, and they feed on it like starved pirhanas. What world, indeed!

I just hope that at least ONE of the great candidates running on the Republican side has the balls to point out the almost three year vacation that the Obama's have taken at our expense. Of course, the Soros and Alinsky (sp) crowd would just shout "LIAR!"

    Stilton,
I think the little clock that is just below the Heritage Foundation Headlines is broken or something. It seems to be running WAAAYYY to slowly.

  9. My current hope is that Barack will lose his job in 2012 and then when he runs again in 2016 (you KNOW the Demo_rats will try him again) he gets wiped out again. Let's see how much golf he plays when he has to pay for it himself!

  10. I see you have to join Politico to see the comments to that blurb about FLOTUS' remarks about Barack Hussein. And that there are 637 comments. Has anyone read them?

  11. I'm surprised anyone's surprised - the only person that didn't age visibly was Regan - mainly as he was already older than dirt..

  12. @Readers- There really isn't a lot for us to say that hasn't been said before. It's just dumbfounding to hear the blatant lies told about (and by) Mr. Obama to bolster his status. It really is a complete disconnect from reality.

"...a complete disconnect from reality" will be the epitaph of the Obama regime.

  14. checked out the comments on Politico, and 99.9% of them are in disbelief that this woman (no offense to women intended) could make a statement like that with a straight face. The great thing is, this is just the beginning!

  15. Now we know how a peasant serf felt living under the rule of some self-centered monarch, don't we? At least we can still vote, and I cannot wait!

  16. Friends,

You've got it all wrong about this poor man (cue rat on violin). He's WORKING when he's out there on the golf course. He's trying to find those guys that murdered Nicole and Ron as OJ can't do it anymore since he's in jail for the rest of his life. This man is FANTASTIC! Not only is he president and commander in chief, he's also sleuth in chief! Those murderers are probably shaking in their boots.

We need to give this poor man credit whether it's due or not. The alternative would be to deal with the horrible suspicion that down deep The One is really like Governor William J. LePetomaine in Blazing Saddles, with some malignant rubber-duck-squeezing Hedley Lamar behind the scenes, arranging the papers to be signed and orchestrating the "Harumps!"

Although, a rubber duck WOULD make a nice alternative totem animal instead of the jackass currently favored by the democrats.

  17. Harump.
The puff lie about Obama I'm most tired of is the 'soaring orator' nonsense. For those disposed to dismay over Bush's faint Texas accent and occasional stumbles, Obama must have been a refreshing relief. But he is at best a bland generically vanilla who most often reads in the flat, almost droning monotone of the mildly bored who doesn't bother to conceal that he holds the task as beneath him. I hear him and am reminded mostly of my high school assistant principals reading the same required morning boilerplate announcements on the PA.
For real 'oratory', try Churchill or either of the Roosevelts or a host of others. JFK and Reagan each had some moments. But at any local Toastmasters meeting you can find total amateurs who can knock Obama out of the park. At any decent high school oratory competition Obama's flat delivery wouldn't make it to a third tier 'Honorable Mention'.
But the MSM puffery paints this droner as Shakespeare-on-a-roll. More detachment from reality in our new Bizarro World. What wondrous new discoveries about the miraculous talents of Dear Leader can we expect as the Permanent Campaign drags on?

  18. I'm with you, Andrew....he is as boring as watching paint dry. And...I really have never seen such insincerity...anyone can say what is expected of them at a disaster, or any other event.

  19. For some really good speeches... try George W. Bush of a good day. I'm not going to waste my time looking back to see which ones but i seem to remember the one of his SOTU's and maybe the second inaugeral as really nailing down what needed to be said. of course, the idiots in the MSM didn't agree but is that supposed to kupposed to keep me awake? it doesn't. Also, as far as Bush goes he also answers questions well, completely and with some style. Both in speeches and and answering questions he has does something rarely done and more rarely praised. He answers the question and/or covers the subject matter. Reagan preferred to compete with the damned wind to see who could get the flag to snap with more vigor. Bush kept that worthless crone of a "speech" writer at first, but then THANK GOD dumped her in favor of writers -- himself among them -- who told the truth and favored sense to sound. Of course, most prefer the reverse and so we got a reprise of "morning in America"
    AKA the Obama campaign.

  20. Robert, You are so right; Obama did NOT inherit this economy. He was in the Senate from Jan 2005 to Nov 2008 sending SPENDING Bills to then, President Bush to sign. I did a little (very little) research on this & one spending bill that Obama did NOT vote yes on was for the surge in Iraq. Which, he took credit for later as “him” winning the war in Iraq. He voted for yes for the first stimulus bill in Oct 2008. So, in reality, he gave himself the debt and deficit. Once elected as President he just made the economy worse because the Dems were in control of both the House & the Senate and spending like crazy.

There is a 12 step program for destructive overspending. It should be mandatory for every member of the House, Senate & Administration to go through it BEFORE taking office.
