Give Peas A Chance

In times of great crisis, real leaders rise to the occasion with powerful words of courage
and inspiration. "Ask not what your country can do for you," "Nothing to fear but fear itself," "Tear down this wall," "I can hear you and the rest of the world hears you," and now, as our nation stands at the edge of a financial and social catastrophe..."Eat our peas."

Such was the distilled wisdom of Barack Hussein Obama, the smartest carbon-based life form in the universe, when trying to explain what needs to be done now that his administration has spent
trillions of dollars which were neither budgeted nor available, and continues to guarantee entitlements which can never actually be paid.

After John Boehner declared that raising taxes during a fiscal meltdown was unacceptable (which is a very polite way of saying "insane"), the frowny-faced president took his case directly to the American people - whom he clearly feels aren't very bright - and said we need to
"tear off the bandaid" and "eat our peas!"

He then took a pair of steel balls from his pocket and started rolling them nervously in his hand, one eye twitching, and whispered to a puzzled Timothy Geithner that he needed a new report on the "missing strawberries."

While Mr. Obama's apparent disconnect from reality seemed reason for concern, Joe Biden quickly reassured the home television audience that the giggling, twitching president was "still bright and clean and a nice-looking guy, even if he's
not exactly articulate anymore."

And so the deficit-reduction meetings will continue, with the Republicans continuing to talk about the fiscal responsibility so important to their constituents... and the president continuing to talk about vegetables.

Many of whom are his constituents.

  1. Readers- No, I haven't changed the M-W-F schedule, but I couldn't just let the condescending sonofagun tell us to "eat our peas" and then twiddle my thumbs today!

  2. I was listening to a radio news report about the stand-off and marveled at how the LSM continues to seek the sage words of Nazi Pelosi, even though she has no power to affect anything anymore. Like I've said before, the LSM sees the Democrats as the "natural" rulers and will always turn their cameras and microphones toward them for the final word...and because they share an agenda of course.
The sheeple are torn and suffer a disconnect when they hear the moronic utterances of Turdbama for themselves and, at the same time, hear the media extolling the brilliance of this regime and it's supreme leader. What do they believe; what they are being spoon-fed or their own lying eyes?
So many still refuse to accept that a man can rise to become President of the United States who so hates this country and wants to tear it down. They wallow in their ignorance and, for the moment, we must forget they are our countrymen and be about the business of removing this foul stench from all of our nostrils.
Sorry...rambling again...too much coffee this AM.

  3. Don't you get it? Instead of deficit reduction, we need another stimulus for those "shovel ready" projects!

We're closer to being Greece than even I realized. Except that we don't have a Germany ready to bail us out.

  4. Ah, great words: "Never before has one man done so much to screw so many." (Isn't that what Churchill said? I paraphrase of course.)

Meanwhile, truly, I'm allergic to green peas, as in really bad for me -- now what do I do?

And exactly how bad do things have to get before Obama's supporters in the press and his acolytes on the street realize he's the one doing the damage? But those Obamaphiliacs I know are getting might defensive when I connect some dots for them; it's getting almost dangerous to even quote Obama without a bush being hurled at you.

And how come every time Obama says "deficit reduction" it's attached to phrases like "keep on spending money like no tomorrow," and "tax 'em till they bleed." And where exactly are the leaders of the Republican Party putting this in stark terms instead of "let us get in power and we'll do something, sometime, we don't know what or when, but trust us."?

  5. wouldn't the tougher thing to do (i.e. eat our peas) be not to raise the debt limit?

because raising it just seems like another easy excuse for, among other things, more spending. fiscal responsibility is difficult.

  6. Obama’s arrogance knows no bounds.

They say the line between genius and insanity is thin. I submit that what the left saw in Obama as genius was, in fact, insanity. He has lost whatever touch with reality he had … assuming he ever had any.

But as long as 49% of the voters (inmates) in this country are beholden to the insane leaders to take care of them, and 2% enjoy the power they wield over the useful idiots, the insane will rule.

Always keep in mind that this debt ceiling increase is only designed to keep us able to borrow through the next election … and then it will need to be raised again, because they are going to continue to spend more than they take in until the very end. And by “end”, I mean exactly what you think I mean.

@drozz - Yes: the tough medicine would be to NOT raise the ceiling and reduce spending to levels below revenues.

  7. To default or not to default; that is the question.
No it isn't. We won't default. Duh Won will simply have to decide who gets paid and how soon. We can service our debts without a rise in the debt ceiling, we just can't continue crazed, profligate spending. The very thought of that is anathema to certain people.

  8. Captain Queeg's crew eventually took over the ship, and Queeg was proven to be nuts in court. Could we be so lucky?

Let's pray Boehner still sees the light and remembers who put him in power. So far, he is hanging tough, but the pressure from the clowns in the white house has to be severe. Everybody: get behind your favorite conservative congressman and encourage them to stay the course. Let's make dumbass eat his own stupid peas.

You are assuming they see it as we do. I believe THEIR word for what we see as damage is progress...

(Don't bother with my linked website: DTE has it in their evil, powerless hands until they clean up the storm damage...)

  10. Can you picture Churchill talking to the British citizens about bandaids and peas? Here's a favorite Churchill quote. He was addressing his nation in a 1940 broadcast after France fell to Hitler and Great Britain was preparing for the battle of Britain to begin: 'If we can stand up to him (Hitler) all Europe may be free and the life of the world may move forward into broad sunlit uplands. But if we fail, then the whole world - including the United States, including all that we have known and cared for - will sink into the abyss of a new Dark Age, made more sinister, and perhaps more protacted, by the lights of perverted science. Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves that, if the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say, "THIS WAS THEIR FINEST HOUR."'

And now that Mr. Bandaid and Peas has threatened to withhold Social Security checks, basically breaking the backs of American citizens to further his treasonous agenda, let us pray that Republicans and even some Democrats stand up to him in what would be THEIR finest hour.

  11. Jim Hlavac...you asked...

And exactly how bad do things have to get before Obama's supporters in the press and his acolytes on the street realize he's the one doing the damage?

My sentiments exactly, and I'm sure if the insolvency of this nation becomes a reality, George W. will STILL get the blame!!

  12. @Earl- Very well said! And this also explains why Barack Obama didn't want that bust of Winston Churchill looking over his shoulder in the Oval Office.

The threat to withhold Social Security checks - when there are a HOST of useless things the president could choose to delay payment on - is beyond despicable. Obama is the sort of thief who doesn't even have the balls to rob another man, but instead reaches from a moving car to steal an old woman's purse...and perhaps kill her in the process.

You're right: it's time for anyone who cares about this country (especially politicians) to live up to the obligations of their "finest hour" and fight Obama's depredations.

  13. Earl,
There is absolutely, positively NO doubt in my mind that, if Churchill was anything like our "Peas in Chief," Britain would have fallen in a week.

It sickens me, though, that his sheep will believe any lie or fabrication that spews from both sides of his mouth.

  14. Come to think of it, Neville Chamberlain would have applauded Obama and said, "Give peas a chance."

  15. "The threat to withhold Social Security checks - when there are a HOST of useless things the president could choose to delay payment on - is beyond despicable."

It's so far beyond despicable that you can't see it from there.

  16. Earl, Chamberlain would have said "Peas in our time". Then there is also the the phrase from the '60's, "Imagine whirled peas"

    ReplyDelete
  17. Like Chamberlain, Obama is good at a-peas-ing the enemy!

  18. Dude, I knew you wouldn't last 2 weeks. Face it, Obama is too damned funny not to be mocked 4 times a week

  19. I wondered why Obama was scheduled to speak yesterday morning - fool must have thought he could escape your treatment because it would coincide with your "off" day. Kind of like how often bad political news is held until the weekend.

Obama doesn't realize that you are like a sleeping dog - eyes closed, but alert to anything that needs to be "barked" about.

  20. @DonSurber- I really do need to work on some other things, but the compulsion to comment on Obama's idiocy was irresistible. The rule remains that I'll promise cartoons on M-W-F...but depending on the circumstances, I might post additional cartoons at any time.

@alan markus- Rather than weakness on my part, I prefer your supposition that Obama simply stepped into my trap. Yeah...that's the ticket!

  21. No doubt Obama had his Nobel Peas Prize on his mind when he made the remark.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Obama totally dissed peas. His speech inferred that peas are undesirable and that people have to be forced to eat them. That wasn't very nice to the poor, innocent peas. Actually, that was quite racist to the peas. Why not broccoli or spinach? Why were peas singled out?

That or its just a psychological result of being bossed around by Michelle all the time...naturally people who are enslaved to a tyrant will treat their own "slaves" the same way as they have been treated.

    The poor peas.
