Down In The Mouth

Just when we thought there was no possible way that Barack Obama could further debase the dignity traditionally associated with the office of President of the United States, he chose to ignore any observance of the anniversary of D-Day and instead attended a Gay fundraising event at which he drew appreciative laughs by joking about Michelle having oral sex with Ellen DeGeneres.

In his scripted double-entendre, the president mentioned Michelle's appearance on Ellen DeGeneres's show during which the two did push-ups...and Michelle did the most, causing Ellen to get "some teasing."

"But," Obama said slyly, "I think she claims that Michelle didn't go all the way down..."

This generated a
huge laugh from the Gay attendees, which Obama enjoyed for a few seconds before adding - like the seasoned comedian he is - "That's what I heard!"

Once the media backlash started, the president's handlers immediately started calling the remark
entirely innocent, suggesting that the first Gay president is so innocent that he has no idea what the euphemism "going down" commonly refers to - even though he was quite conversant with the sexually-loaded (and perverse) term "teabagger."

Other presidential supporters claim that he was blindsided by simply reading the double-entendre off his teleprompter - mounting the odd defense that when words come out of Obama's mouth, they aren't
his words and we shouldn't assume he even knows what he's talking about.

But anyone who has worked professionally in standup comedy (full disclosure: that would be me) can listen to the tape of Obama's remarks and tell instantly that the joke was intentional and skillfully milked for its full potential.

To make a few things absolutely clear, Hope n' Change has no problem with Gays or issues of Gay equality in law. In fact, we think it's hypocritical that Mr. Obama recently expressed his "personal preference" for Gay marriage to please donors but when it comes to signing legislation which would actually make it happen, his pen doesn't "go all the way down."

Nor do we have a problem with jokes, including dirty jokes. Even filthy dirty jokes.

But we do have a problem with a president who refuses to act in a presidential manner or show at least token respect for the office he holds and the people he serves.

That being said, is it hypocritical for Hope n' Change Cartoons to "diss" the first couple instead of showing respect for the office?

Oh Hell, no. Barack and Michelle Obama used up all of our charity (and patience) years ago. And it is our respect for the office which demands that we continue to point out this president's seemingly endless insults to America, so that November's election will see his loathsome administration go all the way down.

  1. Just when we thought things couldn't get any worse... now this.

    Strange days, indeed.

  2. @SJ - "mounting the odd defense that when words come out of Obama's mouth, they aren't his words and we shouldn't assume he even knows what he's talking about."

Funnily enough, I frequently assume that whatever he reads off the TelePrompTer are not his own words. I think it is well-known that he is the most obvious puppet President of all time.

  3. thought it was the worst joke delivery I'd heard in a LONG time, and that includes drunks in the bar @ midnight... "wait, wait, I'll get this"..

  4. Ahhh, THIS is going to go ever well with the evangelistic Christian gun clinging crowd! Every time something like this happens (which now seems to be daily), I give it the "W" test. That is, what would the MSM do if George W. Bush said the same words? Right about now, Ed Shultz would be foaming at the mouth, and Rachael Madcow would be calling for impeachment.

God, please send us an American president!

And, yes, this was on a teleprompter, but you know damn well he proofreads everything. He may be a lot of things, but stupid is not on the list.

  5. A view from the Teleprompter of the United States:
SAY: "I think she claims that Michelle didn't go all the way down..."
    PAUSE.
    SMILE.
    HOLD ON.
    SCAN THE AUDIENCE.
    WAIT FOR IT.
    WAIT FOR... NOW!
PINCH FINGERS OF RIGHT HAND AGAINST THUMB AS IF HOLDING A SMALL PIECE OF PAPER.
MOVE RIGHT HAND IN ARC FROM CHIN TO HALF WAY TO PODIUM AT LEAST TWICE.
    SAY: "That's what I heard."

Since the joke wasn't peppered with "Uh...um...", we can be assured that it was totally scripted. And, frankly, I don't believe Øbama proofreads that which his handlers put in front of him. He's much too important for that. Plus, it would make it more difficult to disclaim the statement later when it results in an "Elmer Fudd" moment, ala his Bain comments.

I don't think this will serve him, as indicated. Most of his most recent pandering has been to minority groups so small that even if they and their families and friends decide to vote for Øbama, it would have little impact at the polls. As indicated, those he offends with these and actions in a similar vein are far superior in number. Clearly his ideology and narcissism is interfering with any ability to be pragmatic about his situation, as Clinton was way back when...

  6. A little off topic, but here is something that I caught in an article yesterday:

Between the Lines: By Mark Halperin

Another danger for the President: the media freak show. Stalking that circus' center ring is Matt Drudge, whose caustic website continues to help drive the news cycle with an emphasis on negative, mocking items about Obama and Vice President Joe Biden and their wives. The latest sign of Drudge's potency: Ed Klein, the author of the virulently anti-Obama book The Amateur, was barred from major TV appearances and mostly ignored by the mainstream media, but the book's prominence on Drudge's website propelled it to the No. 1 slot on the New York Times nonfiction list.

Got that? (bolds in article are mine). An unflattering book was written about Obama, the media cooperates with the President by keeping it in the shadows, but alas, some people still found out about it and it becomes a best seller. Damn that Internet!!

I bought the book, read it (better than I thought it would be) and have several relatives & friends that will be borrowing it. Plenty of time to circulate it in the next 5 months.

Shouldn't use this opportunity to shill for an author, but obviously buying the book is an action that bothers some in the MSM.

  7. @BS Footprint- I've come to accept that things will keep getting worse. The suspense comes from wondering how?

@Coon Tasty- The teleprompter provides the speeches, and the autopen signs bills into law when Obama is out of the country. I say we cut out the middleman and let the machines finish the remainder of his term.

@Pete(Detroit)- I'm not saying it's a funny joke. But I think the rhythms of his delivery show intent.

@Colby- I keep trying to imagine George W. saying this, but my mind locks up. I just can't picture it happening. But you're right, of course, that the Left would be apoplectic.

@Emmentaler- I like your breakdown of the teleprompter instructions, and can easily imagine them being pretty close to the mark.

You then mention that you don't think that this sort of pandering to a special interest group will have much impact at the polls, but I think it probably is effective for drumming up more money - which is seemingly his only interest these days. Obama ONLY voiced his "preference" for Gay marriage to get Gay money flowing in (which worked) and by making this "inside joke" he clearly hopes to further ingratiate/identify himself with the Gay donors he was speaking to.

  8. @Alan Markus- It's disheartening (though not surprising) that the mainstream media is still actively trying to avoid vetting Barack Obama. I wonder how many mainstream outlets ran with the story that in 1996, Obama signed a pledge linking him to a socialist political group called "The New Party?" In 2008, Obama's campaign denied his involvement and called the reporter who wrote a story about it a crackpot. Now he has uncovered documentation that proves his allegations - but only Fox News and the alternative media are reporting it.

And glad to get your review of The Amateur. It's funny how many conservative and/or anti-Obama books shoot up the bestseller lists these days. But where are the bestsellers which talk about Obama's wonderful accomplishments, or give insight into the good things in his past? Don't those on the Left write/buy books?

    ReplyDelete
  9. No, most of those on the left don't know how to read or write. That's why they have Michael Moore make movies about stuff!

Getting ready to read The Amateur myself.

  10. So much for political tv being "family friendly". Geez.

You know, barring any personal feelings about gays and gay marriage...sex is FOR THE BEDROOM. PERIOD.

Not for the teleprompter. Not for a public address. Not for marches in the streets. Come on! I do NOT WANT to know what you do in the bedroom, or how, or when, or even why. And I certainly do not want my kids to have to pick through filthy jokes in order to read about current events. Please!!!!

I'm so sick and tired of Obama's stinkin anti-American ways. As much as people hated Bush...at least he was a patriot.

That, I miss. A shame...that I have to "miss" having a PATRIOT in the White House....

  11. Suzy - miss a LOT of patriots...

  12. Colby you have some good points--but I'll take "stupid is sure the hell ON the list" for $50 when talking about The Bamster.

  13. Velcro: No, most of those on the left don't know how to read or write

And they don't understand how the Internet works - that their stupidity displayed on-line has a half-life similar to uranium.

    ReplyDelete
  14. @Velcro- I think those on the Left also fancy themselves well-informed because they read Tweets. Which are just the right length for their intellects and attention spans.

@Suzy- This wasn't supposed to be political TV and wasn't a public address. It was a fundraising event where the president felt comfortable letting his hair down (you know, the hair he flies a barber in from Chicago every two weeks to cut). And so Obama felt comfortable saying things he wouldn't usually say in public - sort of like when he referred to average folks in flyover country as bitterly clinging to their guns and religion. Both of which he finds laughable.

@Pete(Detroit)- Hopefully, we'll be seeing them in Washington DC soon. Preferably after the place has been power-washed.

@Comanche Voter- I think Obama is smart in a lot of areas, but has a big stupid blind spot about traditional American values.

  15. Just one of many enablers, Ashleigh Banfield / CNN did 3 minute stand-up -actually it was a full grovel cover up for the IDIOT AND CHIEF w/ no factual basis. Don't think this was a crafted, audience calculated zinger? This guy does:

  16. While I dislike Michelle Obama and think she is a disaster as a First Lady, if I were her, I would be livid, I would be "rip his balls off and he can sleep on the couch for the rest of his short life" furious at my husband if he said anything like that about me in public, much less on national TV.
I am not astonished to find there are new lows this President and his administration cam sink to, but I never thought verbally "pimping out" of his wife would be one of them.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Stilton: agreed - smart like a con artist in his ability to fool enough of the people enough of the time, and stupid like one in his inability to recognize that conning people for a living is generally not sustainable.

Graylady: "pimping out" is what these people do... it's pretty much the only thing that they're even good at.

    ReplyDelete
  18. @Graylady: I don't see it as a "pimping out" of Moochelle - she is clearly after the same goal as her alleged husband - and clearly playing the same game. Besides: what's a little off-color ad hominem joke when it has the potential to prolong her lavish vacation on our dime?.

    ReplyDelete
  19. @Comanche Voter,
You have a point there; he DID pick Joe Biden as a running mate after all.

    @Greylady,
I would never in a million years say thing like that about my wife, but if I did, BAM! The hammer would (and should) fall. But maybe The First Wookie lets it slide lest she lose her monthy $200 million vacations? Of course, some folks have no shame; she might have thought it was funny. Or maybe she might even enjoy a little roll in the hay with Ellen Degenerate.

Excuse me; I now have to go wash my brain out with lye soap and a blow torch....

  20. @Stilt, remember that the "...bitter...cling to guns and religion..." comment almost didn't come out. The reporter who publicized the quote didn't want to harm Barack Hussein's chances but she (reluctantly) made it known. You know, because it was actual news about how Barack Hussein feels about Americans. I'm not sure who this latest quote was supposed to let know what Barack Hussein feels about them.

  21. What the fudge Stilford? Today is the national day of blogging silence...or protest...I can't remember which.

In either case all bloggers are supposed to write about...um...damn.
Didn't you get the memo? It's about freeing speech or shutting other people up or something....

    I'll get back to you.

  22. Proofreading the teleprompter would cut into fundraising and the all-important time on the links.

Speaking of the stupid left & the new media, did you catch the tweets about Gov Walker on Wed? (NRO)
There were many actual death threats, some, with what looked like, people’s real names? I know the left is hateful, but, I was appalled at how vicious & vile these tweets were.

    ReplyDelete
  23. How far we've sunk in barely 2 generations. Ronald Reagan wouldn't even enter the Oval Office without a suit on out of respect for the office. 30 years later, we have a supposed President making crude sex jokes about his own wife!

I can't imagine what Mrs. Econ would do if I were to say such a thing in public, and I bet she can't either.

    ReplyDelete
  24. @mlester101- Good catch! The link goes to a page which shows that the favorite comedian of liberals, Bill "Million Dollar" Maher, thinks the joke was deliberate.

@graylady- You're assuming that Barry has balls to rip off, and that Michelle "People of Walmart" Obama is capable of being offended. But putting those factors aside, this is a really sad low for anyone in the Whitehouse.

@Mike Porter- Is it unseemly for me to agree with you for agreeing with me?

@Emmentaler- You're right; Michelle will happily "pimp out" her reputation rather than return to the harsh, cold world of actually working. And keep in mind that Joe Biden recently said that without government assistance, Michelle could never have held down an honest job.

@Colby- Hey, if Barry ate dog, there's no reason that Michelle can't eat... No! I won't say it! (But I'm thinking it.)

@Aaron Burr- Yeah, I'd seen that this was supposed to be National STFU Day for blogs in protest of something or other. I didn't particularly give a darn. What we DON'T need is more silence when it comes to the Obamas.

@SC- There were LOTS of Tweets threatening to kill Walker (or calling for his death). But is Eric Holder doing the relatively easy job of tracking those people down? Nope - he's too busy telling black audiences that Jim Crow is back in down, and refusing to answer questions about "Fast and Furious" on capitol hill. The slippery crap weasel.

@John the Econ- The coarsening of public discourse sickens even me. And I recently wrote an entire sex manual about Barack Obama ("The Obama Sutra") so that's saying something.

    ReplyDelete
  25. @Readers- By the way, in response to a question from Mrs. Jarlsberg, the picture of Michelle sticking her tongue out is completely unaltered. Yikes.

  26. Stilt, That's a great take on Obama's nonsense with the "gay community" -- whatever that is. He's desperate for votes and bucks, so he's using some silly sissies who are blind to this man's miserable record (just as there are many silly heteros doing the same. ) Really, the man is just a cad.

On the other hand, the Republicans seem to be doing what they can to push every last gay person to vote for Obama, or at least abstain from voting. Which really makes no sense.

For the only reality is that gay folks are simply a political football created by both parties -- without a shred of reality or thought that maybe just maybe, gayness is simply not a political issue whatsoever. The two parties act as if being gay is automatically a political position -- it's absurd, of course. After all, blond hair or autism or psychology are not political issues and belong to no party.

    ReplyDelete
  27. @Jim Hlavac- Here's a great cartoon from Mike Lester which I think sums up what we're both talking about - showing that a same-sex male couple is exactly the same under Obama as they were before...except for seeing their economic status suffer.

Like you, I don't think political philosophy is linked to sexual preferences... though the current positioning of the dominant political parties unfortunately helps to steer things that way. Personally, I just can't understand people who have less tolerance of pro-American Gays than they do for anti-American Straights. I don't care what happens in bedrooms, but I care very much what happens in our courts, our streets, our businesses, our schools, and our legislature.
