Robbing Hood
Barack Obama, whom we've never seen in green tights (although photos from his college days no doubt exist), is now pushing yet another new campaign theme: Mitt Romney is "Robin Hood in reverse," making the president the real Robin Hood.
No, really.
In fact, Obama is now referring to his opponent as "Romney Hood" - claiming that if the "evil rich" (also known as "small business owners") continue paying the same tax rate they've been paying for years, it amounts to stealing from the poor and giving money to those filthy bastards who are struggling to meet payrolls and already paying the vast majority of the taxes which fund the building of our roads, bridges, and other infrastructure - and provide direct benefits to 47% of their fellow citizens.
But for Barack Obama, the robbing hood from Chicago, that's not enough! Nope, he'll steal from those evil rich folks and give to the poor! In fact, he'll do even better than that - he'll create more poverty and make sure people stay in it!
But while we don't question Mr. Soetoro's proclivity for theft - or love of secret identities - is he really only stealing from the rich?
That certainly wouldn't be the opinion of the 20,000 retirees who had their pensions stolen by one of Obama's merry men. Specifically, Tim Geithner involved himself in the GM bailout and had the pensions cut off for 20,000 retirees who didn't belong to the UAW, while making sure that the union members received every penny of benefits.
Which sounds a lot like stealing from the poor to give to a rich politically-connected union, doesn't it? But of course, the UAW is hardly the only group of fat cats enjoying plunder stolen from the little people. A list of the recipients of stimulus spending would bear a stunning similarity to a list of Obama's campaign contributors, donors, unions, and vote-swinging political machines.
Which is why there wasn't actually much "job stimulus" money left to create jobs.
You know, the sort of jobs the poor want...so they won't be poor anymore.

Isn't it funny that the man who signed the largest single tax increase into effect for the middle class is whining about the poor and middle class paying too much in taxes....Does he think we are all like his supporters and only have the attention span of a gnat? Does he think we all forgot about Obama-care and the Supreme Courts Decision?
Random thought alert:
If most people are like me, we all have a "junk drawer" somewhere in our house where stuff of all kinds is collected because..."who knows, it may come in handy someday". Well, Obama's campaign is a junk drawer filled with useless bits and pieces, screws, hex keys, old concert ticket stubs, odd little batteries, etc. He's taking the contents of that junk drawer and throwing the entire thing at Mitt Romney and vainly hoping that something,...anything will stick to him and make him unattractive to voters. The only thing I see Obama ending up with in November is an empty junk drawer. At least the hutch or cabinet it belongs to will be lighter and easier to move this coming January.
It is because of sites such as Hope n' Change, Breitbart, GBTV, & others - along with Rush, Sean, & FOX - that I believe we conservatives have a real chance at taking back the Presidency and the Senate. Thanks to Stilton for all you do!
@Dave David - actually, yes they do think that we all are like the Obamabots, program them and they will react, i.e., Sandra Fluke.
@ Angry - I noticed that CNN (CNN???) broke a story last night that the latest Obama ad regarding 'Romney Causes Cancer' is false (duh!). They say that the facts show that the woman had her own insurance coverage from HER job. The other pertinent fact, one does not just 'come down' with Stage 4 Lung Cancer - by that time you have had some serious health issue warning signs - coughing up large amounts of blood among them (having had two relations die from lung cancer, I'm somewhat knowledgeable). So, one has to assume that the 'wife' either ignored her health issues, or the whole issue is just patently false (and besides, under Obamacare she probably would fit into the non-treatable class).
Obama's tax proposals bring to mind Maggie Thatcher's comment "The only problem with Socialism is that sooner or later, you run out of other people's money".
OT - The Ohio Voting suit - the thing the Obama organization keeps harping on is the 'fairness' of letting the extended time apply to all - just a reasonable request, nothing to see here, move along. The brief's arguments are actually along the lines of 'the military is being granted special consideration which is unfair to the rest of the electorate'. The danger with this is that a ruling in favor will set precedent that military absentee balloting be treated no differently than regular absentee balloting. In the 2010 elections, I believe it was 7 states that applied to the DOJ for waivers from the federal law passed by Congress that made it a requirement that absentee ballots be mailed to registered military members 45 days in advance. Their argument was that due to the number of run-off elections, it was not possible to meet that requirement - co-incidentally all 7 states had Democratic Governors and Secretaries of State. Eric the Unjust granted the waivers in the majority of the states so that military absentee votes would not be counted. Think about the heavy military vote in North Carolina and Florida (California too, though the % to population is less).
Also OT, I'm sure many have noticed, but every time the Obama Administration's dirty laundry comes to air, it's usually broken by foreign news organizations first, the latest being the pension shafting of the non UAW retirees. Just doing the job American news organizations won't.
@Irene - Unfortunately, many will still believe the mantra of the Obamabots and consider all the mentioned evil. We must believe there is hope, as one of my friends, a fifty year yellow dog democrat(by his own admission), actually began to watch Fox (and GASP!!! O'Rielly) and saw the light. One has to realize, as he did, that the Democratic Party of our fathers, and even of our youth no longer exists - it's been taken over by the Socialist Progressives.
While the interest is in the national elections, we all must bring our conservative values all the way 'down ticket', all the way down to the local school boards.
@Dave David,
No crap! Robbing Hood and his minions did their homework on the monstrous tax increases for the health care crap. It's not going to really hit until 2013, supposedly AFTER we re-elect King Barry. His gnat minded supporters have already overlooked it and are convinced its only going to stick it to the evil rich, and the rest of us have grown complacent - "Oh well, screwed again - nothing to be done about it...." I hope Romney uses this over and over in his campaign. It's low hanging fruit!
Stilton,
Great post yet again! We shall never see Da Won in tights, though. The tights would just show a giant prick with no nuts.
To amplify what SeaDog said about spreading our conservative values all the way to the school boards: even those running in "non-partisan" portions (judges, justices, etc.) have a back-trail. I was amazed at what I found looking at the circuit court judges in our race, and ended up only being able to cast votes for two out of the allowed three - and even one of those made me nervous. And you can bet that they'll be just as non-partisan as Kagan in the event that they make it into office, so use their record as your guide. (Shoot - most of the Republicans running for Sheriff sounded like closet socialists when you read their "statement" - beware of those who seem to be trying to appease to get elected. Once an appeaser, always a risk to your freedoms.
@Colby: Today's Coffee Spew Award goes to you - but I'm betting the tights would show a camel-toe. Crimony, it wouldn't surprise me based on what we actually know about Øbama to find he's actually female. Would surely explain his fealty with the gay marriage crowd. And why Moochelle always has hat salient look of dissatisfaction...
Hey, Stilt- When are you gonna' go back to sharing your brilliance with us on a daily basis? It's not like Barry and his sycophants don't provide ample material....
Your website is the first thing I go to on a daily basis. On the off-days, I kinda go thru "Hope n' Change" withdrawals.
The worst thing is how many people are believing Obama's crap. GRRRRRRR!!!!!!!
I mean, I'm not a Romney fan, but I'll be voting for him because he's not Obama. But the idea that any conservatives are actually "robbing the poor" is ludicrous.
Unless of course you believe that "robbing" means taking something back that was originally yours....then I suppose in that light, tax cuts for taxpayers is an incredible crime.....
@Dave David Schmoyer- As you point out, there IS tremendous irony in Obama stumping on his tax policies (and people buying it). Like you said, Obamacare is the biggest tax increase ever on the middle class. And he accuses Mitt Romney of giving extravagant tax cuts to the rich - but doesn't mention that Romney isn't proposing any such income tax cuts; he's simply saying nobody's taxes should be raised from the rates Obama is currently charging.
@Angry Hoosier Dad- When you described that junk drawer, it also sounded like the Democrat party itself- a hodge-podge collection of mismatched doodads that don't work and don't fit in anywhere.
By the way, if Obama wants to raise some REAL money, he should sell raffle tickets to help carry his crap into a U-Haul when he loses the election. I know I'd cough up $3 for a chance.
@Irene Peduto- I think we have a very good chance of taking things back, and alternative media has played (and continues to play) a big role. Although I, personally, can't take any credit. Hope n' Change exists just to keep people laughing enough to hang on to hope. Real hope, that is.
@SeaDog- The "Romney Causes Cancer" ad was a complete lie from top to bottom. But think about the Democrats' underlying message: losing employer health insurance causes death. If that's true, then what's going to happen when 1 in 10 Americans lose their employer sponsored insurance because of Obamacare?
Regarding the Ohio election laws, I clearly support giving our troops extra time to get their ballots in. Our troops are already a "special class" unlike civilians. They have fewer freedoms and more regimented schedules, and are frequently voting from distant locations and require all the time they can get. The Obama administration is against this because A)they don't like the way troops vote, and B) they don't like the troops.
And great point about the down-ballot races. We need conservatives in EVERY position, and every voter needs to take the time to educate themselves about their local candidates.
@Colby- All kinds of feces are set to hit the fan after the election. You know, so people aren't "distracted" by reality beforehand. Huge tax increases, massive layoffs in the defense industry, the death of the popular Medicare Advantage program for seniors, and a lot more. If Obama's programs were going to be popular when implemented, why does he more the implementation until AFTER election day?
And great line about Obama's tights!
@Emmentaler- Good points about checking your local candidates. They're quick to mail glossy 4-color ads in which they claim to be Tea Party darlings and conservative to the core. But a little time on the Internet and you may reveal another picture entirely. Rule of thumb: don't base your opinions on anyone's campaign literature.
@Flyboy- I'd like to be doing the cartoons daily again, but there just aren't enough hours in the day because I don't make a cent from Hope n' Change and need to try to earn a living (which, if anyone hasn't noticed, has gotten harder in the last several years).
But in an effort to get a little more material out there on the "off" days, I frequently post some sort of graphic on my webpage at facebook.com/hopenchangecartoons. Note that you don't have to have a Facebook account to read the stuff there.
@Suzy- Obama has plenty of people who believe his particular line of BS. And one of those lines that particularly raises my hackles is that if we don't take MORE of a small businessman's money, "who's going to pay for that?" NOBODY needs to "pay for that" because the government isn't giving one red cent to the person who earned the money in the first place. Our money is not the government's money. But Obama and the Dems believe otherwise - which is why they also believe that we are the slaves, and they are our firm but loving slave owners. And no, I'm not speaking metaphorically.
Funny thing about the Robin Hood story, that never gets brought up. The REASON 'evil Prince John' had such crazy high taxes in the first place. "Good King Richard" was such a crappy commander that when he went off to the Crusades, he got himself captured and ransomed TWICE! Once by the FRENCH!!!! (Ok, that was before they were all wussified, and the but of all military jokes that don't involve Italy) Anyway, you've surely heard of the phrase "a King's Ransom" to describe a ludicrous amount of money - I suspect it dates to these times. "Worth your weight in gold" probably predates, but would also likely be appro...
So, yes, when 'good King Richard' FINALLY returned, the crushing taxes stopped and the people were allowed to get on w/ their own life, which they much preferred. All, of course, leading up to the Magna Carta, basically a revolt of the landed nobility against the crown, outlining specific rights the populous had that the crown could not infringe. Sound familiar?
The point being that the peasants were being crushed by huge taxation to continue to support a worthless monarch (and, no doubt, his crony advisers) who was most appreciated by his absence.
Again, sound familiar?
Too bad this isn't more widely told...
Regarding the "Romney causes cancer" ad: what it doesn't say is that under Obamacare, he would be fined for not having insurance!
Even CNN sees this ad as total Barbra Streisand!!!!!
The President still blames GWB for the very high unemployment that has gone on longer than after WW2.

@Pete(Detroit)- Interesting history lesson...and certainly relevant to what's going on today!
@Flyboy- Great point! Add insult to injury!
I'm now going through the fun of finding a new doctor - my doctor just decided to join her husband's business, the the doc taking over her practice will not accept Medicare, be glad to take me on until November when I am Medicare eligible. So far, the five doctor's offices I have talked to that will accept my company insurance, will not accept Medicare. This is what the future holds...
I'm concerned about Ol' Robbing Hoods Upward Trending Arrows! He shoots those arrows into the air ... and they come down with higher unemployment, higher food prices, higher fuel prices, higher electricity/energy prices, higher numbers of Welfare recipients, and higher numbers of disabled. This Robbing Hood is Jimmy Carter Jr. Appropriate that Moron 2 will play host to a video teleconference from Moron 1 at the Democrat convention. You couldn't fit that much stupid on one stage.
Still the media, and his Kool Aid kids can't see anything wrong with the past 4 years.
I guess Reagan gave all the homosexuals AIDS, and now Romney is giving away Cancer ...
I'm awarding the BDS disease to Obama ... Brain Death Syndrome.
Once again, Pete(Detroit) beat me to the bigger point: The real Robin Hood raided the representatives of the state who were profiting from the corruption to retrieve the wealth that was expropriated from the citizens in the form of taxation.
If that context, I hope that Romney is every bit as successful as the liberals fear.
In fact, if I was on Romney's team, I'd orchestrate a campaign around the real story of Robin Hood and run on that.
@Seadog: Welcome to the new reality. The "rich" (and Congress) don't really worry about this because no matter what, they will still be able to get their health care simply by paying out-of-pocket. Those of you dependent upon insurance or Mediscare are screwed.
@SeaDog- You think you're having fun finding a doctor who'll take Medicare, try finding one who'll take the even worse payments for Medicaid - especially when Obamacare adds 20 million new Medicaid recipients in 2014 without increasing funds.
@elcedar- I'm still stunned that the Dems are giving a showcase at their convention for Jimma Cahtah to make the case that B. Hussein is a highly-regarded real world leader. The only world powers that love Obama are the ones who are our competitors or outright enemies.
@John the Econ- It's sad that people don't really even know the story of Robin Hood anymore. But then again, they don't know much of anything anymore. But all of that aside, I wish Romney WOULD point out that Robin Hood was motivated by the unfair burden of taxes on the people.
Per your comments on Medicare, you're entirely right. ALL of us will be screwed to a fare-thee-well by Obamacare. Because that's why it exists.
I cannot really add to the aggregated wisdom already in these posts, but I would like to remind that most revolutions were rooted in the tyrannical taxation of the lower/middle classes.
What is absolutely maddening and beyond comprehension is why the vast numbers of electorate believe Obama's lies.
We saw this coming, but will it register with the masses, especially when it is buried by Obama boot-lickers?
@Gang of One- In my wildest dreams, I don't hope to convince the idiots in this nation to do the right thing, or recognize good things when they happen. I do, however, hope that those with a borderline normal intellect may be swayed to vote intelligently.
Not that I'm holding my breath.
@Gang of One, it's not that vast numbers of electorate actually believes his lies. It's that they are too scared of the alternative to care. These people who know better and yet continue to support him are either on the big government gravy train, or are scared to death of the alternative.
You have to remember that Obamanomics isn't bad for everyone; just America.
@Stilton -- I hear you 5 x 5, and it never ceases to amaze how otherwise [IMHO] intelligent people want this what this snake-oil salesman is selling. I think their fundamental philosophy regarding government and the relationship between government and the governed is skewed toward Hobbes, Rousseau and the like; those Enlightenment thinkers who tended toward strong, paternal government.
@John the Econ -- You are quite right ... too many people have grown accustomed to the gummint teat, and too many believe it is their 'right' to suck as hard and as long as they can.
@John the Econ "When the people find they can vote themselves money,
that will herald the end of the republic." - Benjamin Franklin
@John the Econ- Quite right; a lot of people simply hear that one candidate is promising to give them stuff, and the other candidate is promising to help them EARN stuff. And too many people prefer the surety of the former choice.
@Gang of One- It is much easier to think that the government can control your life and provide for your needs. And it's a comforting thought. Unfortunately, some people simply don't (or can't) think it through to its ultimate conclusion: the immediate loss of freedom, and the eventual collapse of the entire system.
@SeaDog- I know Ben Franklin has gone to his reward, but I still think that a copy of "Poor Richard's Almanac" would make a better vice-president than Biden.
@Stilton - My border collie would make a better VP than Biden, plus he's housebroken.
@Seadog: MAD Magazine provides better advice than Biden...
You know from what I have seen of the Obama ads so far this year he is noat and can not say anything about hiw record or all the good that he's done. And the few positive Democrat ads are so vague they could apply to anything anywhere....Kinda like a telephone psychic. All the rest of the ads are designed to SCARE the hell out of one group or another. Look Romney will raise taxes...Looks Romney did this or that (mostly lies) but whos to let something minor like truth get in the way of the Obummer train.
@SeaDog- "Romney/Border Collie" would certainly get my vote over the current team.
@Emmentaler- In all seriousness, I'm unaware of any decision ever about which Biden has been right.
@Dave David- Obama ran last time on lies about what he would do. But it's a lot harder to lie about what you've actually done. Having no positive accomplishments to point to, Barry's whole campaign this time around is about attacking Romney, attacking capitalism, and stoking class warfare.
Speaking of which, did you see the story that the Whitehouse intervened to make sure that the Occupy Wall Street protesters weren't arrested when they started breaking laws? I have no doubt that Obama was hoping their lawless and appalling behavior would grow into full-fledged street riots nationwide.
@Stilton - Look for the 'October Surprise' to instigate full blown riots so that Martial Law can be declared, the Constitution and Elections suspended, and himself's be declared "President For Life" (someone has even said that they believed he would stage a faux attempt on his life to trigger it). Paranoid, nah, not much under this regime.
Seadog - I can't imagine how an attempt on the president's life would justify martial law. There was at least one attempt on Ford, Reagan was actually hit (by a bullet that bounced off the armored car)and Kennedy actually killed w/o provoking riots or martial law. And they were ALL a LOT more popular than this turd burglar.
@Pete(Detroit) - I would find an attempt to be a little far fetched justification too, but when has reality been a major consideration of Obamabots?
Far greater is the ordering of 25,000 units of riot gear by DHS and the Army in preparation for riots at the DNC/RNC conventions, and after the election (search various news reports). Granted we have had riots at the conventions before, but they were always handled by the police and National Guard - since when is that justification for suspending the Posse Comitatus Act via Martial Law to allow the US Military to perform law enforcement duties inside the US - Martial Law would have to be declared. When I was in the Marines, we were on rotational National Standby duty, and we were told that if we went in, civil insurrection had been declared, and we would go in locked and loaded, with a company of crew served and chemical weapons for support. I was in during the '68 DNC and the riots that occured across the country and we were never even alerted to upgrade to stageing status.
I saw the commercial on TV the other night where Barack Obama approves of the message that Mitt Romney made $20 million in one year and "only" paid at a 14% tax rate. I guess he's counting on people not to whip out their calculators and figure out what 14% of $20 million is, because at $2.8 million, that makes whatever I pay in taxes--even at double the rate Romney pays--look pretty puny indeed.
Re: Benjamin Franklin. He wrote a book called "Fart Proudly," and I would STILL take him as President over Obama or Biden.
@SeaDog- At this point, the only thing that will suprise me is if there's not a huge and ugly "October Surprise." There seems to be a lot of effort recently being put into procurement of armaments, surveillance devices, and personnel capable of handling "domestic insurrection." And say, here's an article about a military training scenario against a hypothetical domestic threat which, just for the sake of training, they call "Tea Party activists."
@Pete(Detroit)- I don't think they'll declare Martial Law. But they might find some way to postpone the election for just a bit. At first.
@SeaDog- You're way ahead of me (per my posting above). And good use of bold type, too. Why in God's name would Homeland Security be expecting an increased likelihood of riots after the election?
My guess: because the Right may get angry if the election is postponed or stolen by Obama, or in the event of a Romney win, the Left may riot because they'll be told to by Obama and his friends. Why else would Eric Holder be ignoring every actual duty as Attorney General to be touring the country telling black Americans that the GOP are trying to steal their votes and return Jim Crow laws? He's basically placing the explosive charges...and just waiting to activate the detonators.
@noelegy- Hard to believe that Mitt's "fair share" is more than $2.8 million a year when half the country's "fair share" is nothing whatsoever.
@Stilton, that the White House would want "lawless and appalling behavior" growing "into full-fledged street riots" makes absolutely no sense. They have to realize that such behavior is viewed as abhorrent by the swing voters Obama desperately needs for re-election. Actually, I can't think of anything that would more effectively drive undecided-America into the realm of the Tea Party than spoiled brat hoodlums running amok because there isn't enough "free" stuff for them.
I've always argued that the "occupy" movement is a total gift to conservatives. If the White House is interceding to reduce the number of arrests, it's only to quell the embarrassment that this movement has already become.
@John the Econ- Very well reasoned, and I agree. But just for the sake of mischief, wouldn't full-fledged riots ALSO cause many moderates and even conservatives to insist the government put troops in the streets? Because that could be a slippery slope.
Let me be clear that I don't expect any of this to happen. Then again, history is full of surprises.
@Stilton, I think the "moderates" would insist on people actually being held responsible for their mischief. And perhaps some would want troops in the streets. But it certainly won't be Tea Party activists they will be chasing. That meme that the Tea Party is the real violent threat to America has pretty much been exhausted by both the Democrats and the media itself. Few will take Brian Ross seriously on such issues ever again.
