The debates are over (and Hope n' Change is quite happy with how they went) and people are casting early votes all over America. Which makes this a crucial time for all of us to step up and do more than just vote. And no, we don't mean using the Democrat strategy of voting multiple times or doing the whole "Weekend at Bernie's" thing by dragging corpses to the polling places.
Rather, you can multiply the value of your vote by volunteering to help Mitt Romney's campaign reach undecided voters in the most crucial states. You can make phonecalls which can make a difference - or at least ruin a liberal's day - either of which is a worthy goal!
Becoming a phonecaller for Mitt is as easy as going to this volunteer page which will walk you through the process.
Or if you prefer to keep things more informal and you have friends (or soon-to-be former friends) in key states, you can reach out to them personally over the phone, on Facebook, or other social media to encourage them to vote the right way. Especially if they don't want all the horrible secrets you know about them blabbed all over those same social media!
By the way, don't treat it as a bluff. If you know anyone voting for Obama, you should by all means post whatever pictures you have of them attending Tiajuana donkey shows or smoking weed with the "Choom Gang" in Hawaii. Hey, they're willing to screw up our lives, so we might as well get some entertainment value out of seeing their lives thrown into chaos.
Seriously, we're down to the final battle here - and it's important that ALL of us do all we can. Cheering on the sidelines is great, but it's not going to change the score. And this is one event that we have to win. So check out the volunteer opportunities in your state - because the more people we have working together, the easier it will be to finally - finally - take out the trash.
"Hi, Joyce? I know you're a big Obama supporter, but remember that picnic last July...?" |
I wholeheartedly agree. I've got several things going here in my area!
ReplyDeletePerhaps it's just me, but I'd rather admit to participating in a donkey show than have it known I voted for Obama.
ReplyDeleteHmmm. I KNEW that Joyce lady!! It was my mushrooms that laid her out on that picnic table!!
ReplyDeleteBTW, Stilton, GREAT strategery going on "social" networks. Time to put "Social" back into Socialism!!
@Dr. J, I've been trying to talk sense into the "0" drones I know for the past 4 years. As I posted before, a few are actually coming around, but the deeply entrenched..., I've forsaken. They have become those "former friends" you mentioned in your post today. They are the brain washed, self-loathing, lost souls I have relegated to "Enemy of the State" status.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't forget Congress! Get the socialists out of there, too. I managed to get quite a few Øbamanites to admit that 4 more years of The Øne would be the end of the US as we know it, so they're now supporting Romney (or, at worst, not voting for anyone) - however, at least one of them believes the likes of Debbie Stabmenow, a consistent rubber stamp for Øbama, Reid, and Pelosi, is "doing a good job". Even if you get them off the Øbama train, they still clearly don't understand the whole issue. In any case, don't forget to promote anti-socialists at all levels of government - and also don't forget their attempts to get their socialist agendas enshrined in your state's constitution (there are some doozies in on Michigan's ballot this cycle...). It all must go. None of this "as long as we get rid of Øbama, we're ok" BS - it all needs to be addressed. It's a "whole cloth" thing, folks. If you get the bad politicians out of power, but still let their policies slip through in manners making them difficult to eliminate, you've not done anything.
ReplyDeleteBesides, a sweeping defeat for democrats at all levels will send quite a message - a message that, with luck, will send all the socialists back into hiding for at least a few cycles as they determine how to change their "marketing strategy" to sucker the country once again. And why they're off in the weeds figuring that out, maybe we can work on the MSM...
I know lots of people (including myself) that are out there doing what they can. Romney supposedly has NC sewed up, but two weeks is a loooong time! Then I hear about this on Rush Radio this morning...
ReplyDeletehttp://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/10/23/NC-Romney-Voter-Voting-Machine-Recorded-Vote-For-Obama
Folks, we are not just fighting Obama, were fighting the so called press and maybe even the elections boards. Grrr...
Despite my overwhelming phone phobia, I have managed to make calls for Mitt myself, volunteering at the local Republican headquarters. I convinced my sister, who has never vored before, to register as a Republican so she could vote for Romney. I proudly display my Romned/Ryan window decal in my car window! On a side note, I took a trip from the Piedmont NC to Virginia a couple of weeks ago and saw dozens of Romeny yard signs along the way. I did not see one single Obama sign. I'd say NC is more than "Leaning Romney"!
ReplyDeleteI read on Tea Party Nation that Gloria Allred is going to Boston today to try to get Romney's records unsealed - using the old Chicago-style destroy your opponents strategy if you can't win fairly. I have a phone number to make calls to OH - plan on making them next week.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all you do.
First off, I HATE phone calls like that - go straight to the recorder, then delete. Tho I *do* like the idea of harassing the die hard Dems...
ReplyDeleteMaybe pointing out that if Obama wins, the country goes totally broke, and the gravy train comes off the rails. The ONLY hope they have of keeping up the free sh*t is to vote for Romney...
As for 'former friends' - ran into the guy that accused me of being willing to vote Dahmer over Obama, and he totally snubbed me. Ah, well.
And yes, fixing the Oval Orifice is only part of the solution - we REALLY need to bounce the reprehensitives and get REAL conservatives (and preferably REAL people!) in there!
OH, forgot (Thanks Irene! for the reminder) supposedly Trump is going to lay a smack down on the Prez today. Can't imagine what it might be, unless he found the person who faked the Birth Certificate...
ReplyDeletePete, either that or he found out that Dunham isn't his mother...his real parents are Angela Davis and Bill Ayers!
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine out here on the Left Coast told me he got a call from the obama campaign and chatted them up real good, they stayed on the line for 45 minutes. At the end of the call when they asked if they could count on his support he said HELL NO!!! They said it sounded like you were interested in obama and were considering voting for him...why did you ask so many questions? He said "Well that was 45 minutes you weren't able to call some schmuck that might vote for him!" And hung up.
ReplyDeleteAs for former friends, I have many. Having moved to So. Jersey, making new "friends" is contingent upon their political orientation. While walking in the morning, I pass by a very beautifully landscaped home - often! One morning I noticed a Prius in the driveway. Libs? Dems? Perhaps financially driven people? I had considered speaking with them - but now? Not so sure!
ReplyDelete@Pete D. my brother & I haven't spoken in 2 mos. He's a committed Lib & lives in CA.
@Doc -love your phone strategy.
Great post Stilton. A call to action is what is needed right now. Now where'd I put that camera...lol
ReplyDelete@Velcro- Good for you!
ReplyDelete@Coon Tasty- It's not just you. And frankly, we've all been forced to participate in this Democratic Donkey show for entirely too long already.
@The Doktor- Regarding the gal on the picnic table, I added an extra beer bottle to protect the sensitivities of readers. I would have said "to protect her modesty," but that ship sailed a long time ago.
@Necron99- One of the toughest parts of trying to deprogram an Obama supporter is getting them to admit they made a mistake in the first place. Which is why I liked Clint Eastwood's approach: you don't have to admit your vote for Obama was wrong, or even say you don't like the guy - you just need to agree that he wasn't able to do the job he promised to do, so it's time to give someone else a chance.
@Emmentaler- The down ballot races are tremendously important. The changes currently needed in Washington aren't going to happen while the Democrats retain power to impede and/or sabotage.
@Colby- The voting machine issue makes me nervous and suspicious. And some Republicans have received official-looking letters saying they can't vote because of questions about their citizenship (a hoax). I firmly believe we're about to see the "dirty tricks" truck back up and empty a full load on our electoral process. Which is why it's so important that we do things like volunteer and try to push the vote totals to places where even cheating and fraud can't overturn the results.
@Susie Bee- Good for you, and good for your sister! I think I saw my first Obama yard sign recently (plenty of Romney signs where I live). And a couple of days ago, I came out of the library and found that the car next to mine had its door wide open - blocking access to the passenger side of my car. Inside, a woman with a bluetooth phone in her ear was yacking away, oblivious to everything. I finally had to attract her attention and she gave me a dirty look for being in her world while she was on the phone. And, oh yes, she had an Obama/Biden bumpersticker.
@Irene Peduto- Gloria Allred is a pestilence and media whore. She hasn't popped up since representing the woman Herman Cain allegedly harassed. I'm not sure what she's up to this time around, but I'm already sure it will stink.
On a related note, Donald Trump is supposed to reveal some sort of dirt on Obama at noon- rumored to be old divorce papers from a tough spot in the Obamas marriage. If so, I hate the idea. It's not germane to anything going on, is a total cheap shot, and could actually create a negative backlash against Mitt even though he's not responsible. Trump is, if I may coin a phrase, a bullsh*tter in a china shop.
@Pete D- Hey, I didn't say I wanted to get annoying political phonecalls, just that it's important that our side is making them (grin)! And as far as your former friend goes, I'm sorry. Well, sorry-ish. I've "defriended" (on Facebook and in life) a number of people over politics this year; not because we disagree, but because at some point they accuse me of being a racist, or homophobe, or Nazi - any or all of which can hurt a feller's feelings.
@Doc- Whatever Trump's got, I hope it's authentic and that it's germane to the current political situation. Maybe proof that Bill Ayers' parents paid for Obama's college education?
And I have to laugh at the story of wasting the Obama-caller's time. I've done the same myself (albeit not for 45 minutes).
@Colby: "A machine that needs to be calibrated" my a$$! How much calibration is required to ensure the button pushed is the button recorded. Are these "touch screen" machines like the old Palm Pilots that needed pointer calibration? If so they should not be legal for elections. I think this is just the tip of the iceberg they intend to let hit Election Titanic. Mark my words.
ReplyDelete@Irene Peduto- I've got to admit that trying to ferret out peoples' political leanings is now part of the process of getting to know them. In the end, it's a timesaver. I'm sorry that you're not speaking with your brother, though I'm glad he lives in California and can be enjoying the many (ahem) "benefits" of his party's fiscal policies in the state.
ReplyDelete@Red- We need to set up a "liberal shaming" page somewhere...
@ Stilton -- Not quite germane to the topic of your post, but I think some pressure ought to be brought to bear over this nauseating act of political grandstanding and propagandizing. I suggest a campaign to inform NatGeo and its advertisers of a major boycott ...
ReplyDelete@Irene Peduto,
ReplyDeleteA few weeks ago, I saw a Prius on the street with a Romney/Ryan sticker on it. While I was surprised, it just goes to show you never can tell!
@Stilton,
ReplyDeletevia hotair.com (http://tinyurl.com/9v2448r) Supposedly the "Trump Dump" will not be about the alleged divorce papers. Thankfully.
Still not optimistic that it will be anything more than publicity for The Donald.
I'm still hoping Trump found the guy that faked the birth cert... (it's almost 1 here, but still havn't heard anything..)
ReplyDeleteSeriously? That's *it*?
ReplyDeleteSERIOUSLY?!?!
Geeze, you're a douche, Don.
NEW YORK (AP) — Donald Trump has a deal for President Barack Obama — if he releases his college and passport records, the New York real estate mogul will contribute $5 million to a charity of Obama's choice.
Read more: http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/article/Trump-offers-5-million-if-Obama-releases-records-3977918.php#ixzz2AEgxOqnB
@Pete D -- Really. The Donald should have said he'd donate the money to The Won's campaign. That would have been more interesting, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteOn another, more pressing note, this just isn't going to [and shouldn't] go away.
ReplyDeleteHorse hockey! If I had all the resources an entity such as Donald Trump has and could bring to bear, I would have found the real dirt "0" wants to stay buried a long time ago. I mean, its not like "0" doesn't have skeletons aplenty scattered (literally) around the world. This All Red hag is attempting to have something about Romney unsealed, where's the public outcry for "0's" dirty laundry to be unsealed as well... And why hasn't a wealthy conservative pursued it as actively?
ReplyDeleteWhat is it going to take to get one Toto to pull the curtain away and expose the Wizard of "0" to all the scarecrows, tin men, and cowardly lions following him?
I personally volunteer to throw a bucket of water on Peloser, Botoxer, or Wha-Wha-ters!
@Gang of One- I just became aware of the story you linked to; National Geographic is airing a movie about the Bin Laden raid a couple of days before the elections - and producer Harvey Weinstein, a huge supporter of Obama, had structured the film to show Romney opposing a mission to get Bin Laden. An appalling lie.
ReplyDelete@JustaJeepGuy- But who do the Chevy Volt drivers support?
@txGreg- It would now appear that Trump had NOTHING; just a $5 million offer if Obama would unseal his college and travel records. Stupid.
@Pete D- No such luck. Just typical Trump douchenozzelry, and it annoys me because it distracts from more important issues.
@JustaJeepGuy - You really can not tell - Toyota's are mostly made in the USA, I understand - so it is always possible that a patriot purchased a Prius - but knowing that my relatives in CA bought one a couple of years ago (& they are both libs), I have been tainted! Thanks for the info, though, that there could actually be a bumper sticker for Romney on one.
ReplyDelete@Stilton,
ReplyDeleteLOL - so I was right. Nothing but publicity for The Donald...
I don't know who the chevy volt owner support but I do know who is supporting them- that would be us the taxpayers.
ReplyDelete"because at some point they accuse me of being a racist, or homophobe, or Nazi"
ReplyDeletethat reminds me of a good line Michael Graham used at one of the teaparty events in Boston: You've been called terrible names, Nazis, brownshirts... and that's just by members of Congress!
We have a saying here in NC - "As rare as a Prius without an Obama sticker." Now that's pretty rare!
ReplyDeleteFor what it's worth, in Brevard, NC, a little artsy-fartsy town near the flaming liberal artist colony of Asheville, NC, I counted yard signs last Saturday. Now, just for perspective, in 2008, it was ALL obama signs. This time, I counted about five Romney-Ryan yard signs for every one obama sign. Not a scientific poll, but to see that many proud Romney supporters in this village which I know very well, is a very encouraging indicator that obama has let a lot of folks down. People here seem to be waking up from the kool-aid hangover and seeing this phony imposter for what he is, and they no longer want any part of him. God Bless America!
ReplyDeleteWant to irritate a liberal? Plaster a Romney bumper sticker OVER the nobama sticker! Takes them a while to notice! Great fun! Especially on a Prius!
ReplyDelete"Democratic Donkey show" ::shudder::
ReplyDelete"We need to set up a "liberal shaming" page somewhere..."Good idea. I can set one up on the sidebar of mah blahg! Maybe we can all do that...;-D
@REM1875,
ReplyDeleteChevy Volt owners support Obama... all 43 of them. I hope this fiasco is on Mitt's long list of fat to trim. We're kicking in, what, about $30k for every car, and paople still won't buy 'em!
I see Mrs. Colby has finally joined the fray here at Hope'n'Change. I best stop talking about drinking her single malt now.
@Irene Peduto- I hate to judge a person solely on their car, especially since mine is 20 years old (think Columbo's car with a hardtop).
ReplyDelete@txGreg- To quote Bugs Bunny, "What a maroon!"
@REM1875- Touche!
@Sarah Rolph- I have to admit that I get my knickers in a twist when B. Hussein refers to the GOP as "hostage takers" when they don't want to raise taxes.
@SusieBee- Catchy!
@abbeyroadwalker- What remains to be seen is if the lack of Obama signage will translate into fewer votes, or if it just means that people have at least evolved enough to be ashamed of voting for Obama.
@Mrs. Colby- What a lovely idea! I need to lay my hands on some Romney bumperstickers...
@Red- Now that I think of it, my whole blog pretty much IS a liberal shaming page.
@Colby- We spend horrible amounts on supporting the Volt, and the State Department was paying for Volts and charging stations at their Vienna embassy when they wouldn't pay for security in Benghazi.
And we're delighted to have Mrs. Colby speak up. And don't fear, you've never suggested that she was a drinker of quantity, only quality!
@Stilt,
ReplyDeleteYour car is only 20 years old? My newer Jeep is 23 years old. My other Jeep is 64 years old. I wouldn't mind having a 20-year-old Jeep.
