In an opening statement at his military trial, Fort Hood terrorist Nidal Hassan - who is presenting his own defense - said that he is a "mujahideen," and that "the evidence will clearly show that I am the shooter. The dead bodies will show that war is an ugly thing."
In response, the prosecution said "no further evidence," after which a firing squad composed of recovering Fort Hood survivors stood, took aim with their rifles, then blew Hassan into the land of imaginary virgins.
Just kidding, of course. Although the scenario above makes perfect sense to Hope n' Change, the reality is that the trial is expected to take at least a month, and perhaps several months - during which time Hassan will denigrate the United States, our military, Fort Hood, and his multiple victims (some of whom he's actually calling to the stand), while praising radical, militant Islam and the glories of executing his fellow soldiers in the name of Allah.
All of which is a huge waste of time and money, an insult to both the dead and the survivors, and a scathing rebuke of Barack Hussein Obama's contention that poor old Nidal was nothing more than a disgruntled worker who had a bad day at the office - and that the rivers of blood which flowed that day had nothing to do with the president's cherished "religion of peace."
One thing is certain: that blood flowed in no small part because this president has made it clear that he won't tolerate "discrimination" against Muslims, including those who print business cards that say "Soldier of Allah," and who give Powerpoint presentations describing the way they'll behead infidels and pour boiling oil down their throats.
Put another way, Benghazi was only the tip of the iceberg: Obama has already given the "stand down" order for our military to protect itself from the Nidal Hassan's of this world.
Perhaps another trial is in order to find out why.
So, another foundation in Ă˜bama's house of cards has broken loose. Wonder if the LIVs will even notice...
ReplyDeleteSonofabitch should have been taken out, tied to a tree like a rabid dog, shot, and buried in an unmarked grave. Three years ago.
ReplyDeleteAs I recall, the main reason for calling it workplace violence as opposed to an act of war, is that it drastically changes the benefits for a) the survivors, and more importantly the survivors (wives, kids) of the dead.
ReplyDeleteYes, that's right - da Preezy is screwing widows and orphans to the wall to pay for his Kobe steaks...
Ok, that may not be the REASON for doing it - "never let an opportunity for a cover up go to waste" - but it sure as hell is a side effect.
Religion Of Peace, My Ass...
And yes, if anyone had even been paying NORMAL attention to this person, as someone in a position of power and influence, much less putting him on 'potential terrorist / flip out' watch, this whole entire mess could have been avoided.
How many innocents must die, Barak, how many?
I believe his card said “Soldier of Allah” (SoA), not “Soldier of God”. It is an important distinction that we should be as clear as possible about: Allah is NOT God. This needs to be fully understood and proclaimed. And, Islam is NOT a religion; it is a barbaric, controlling, hateful political system disguised as a religion.
ReplyDeleteThat we are watching this trial and that this was ever listed as workplace violence only shows how successful the Islamists have been in using our freedoms and political correctness to their advantage, and to the detriment of common sense, truth, and the future of the free world.
If I'm getting this right, it appears Nassan is going to claim it was OK to kill those people because he was in the middle of wartime. Say what? Didn't he hear his brother Barry declare that it was workplace violence?
ReplyDelete@TrickyRicky,
I totally agree, but for one thing. His grave should be in a public place and clearly marked, so the survivors and relatives of his victims can stop by every day to piss on his grave.
@NSA,
ReplyDeleteJust wanting to be clear and let you know that TrickyRicky and Colby are talking about Hassan... not the other SOB. No need to call out the black helicopters. :)
@Emmentaler- I doubt that Barry's words will be held against him, although I'd certainly like to see this admission from Hassan used to establish benefits and suitable honors for the dead, the wounded, and the families of Fort Hood. That this hasn't happened already is a disgrace.
ReplyDelete@TrickyRicky- I'm mostly in agreement, with the exception of his eternal resting place. If the grave was unmarked, how could Americans find it when their bladders were full?
@Pete(Detroit)- Exactly. The widows and orphans are taking it in the teeth because of Barry's semantic games.
And there's no question in my mind that Hassan would have been forced out of the system before the violence occurred if our military hadn't essentially been ordered to look the other way when its own members espouse radical Islam.
@Chuck- D'oh!!! Yes, the card said "Soldier of Allah" and I can't explain what sort of brainfart I had that caused the error. It's a huge and critical difference, and I've now corrected it. Thanks for pointing it out.
And this does show the degree to which the most dangerous elements of radical Islam are protected by political correctness (and its vigorous enforcement by the Left).
@Colby- In fairness to Obama, he didn't know there was a war going on. Sadly, he still doesn't.
And I see that you and I hold the same opinion about the Nidal Hassan Memorial Urinal.
This and the Bradley Manning "Wikileaks" trial of makes me wonder if it's even possible to commit treason in America anymore.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, if carefully planning and executing the killing of 13 unarmed fellow soldiers and injuring dozens more on the eve of deployment to a war in which you've explicitly allied yourself with the enemy doesn't qualify as an obviously treasonable offense worthy of a quick trial and execution, just what does?
Quite frankly, the US lost its resolve over 40 years ago when we allowed Jane Fonda back into the country after her misguided USO tour to North Vietnam in 1972. (Nixon was solidifying his squishy credentials)
As the situation stands now, even when found guilty, Major Hassan will likely outlive most of us in prison before he's executed, if ever.
Speaking of the enemy: "As Al-Qaida Grows, Leaders Remain A Global Threat
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=209731985
"Far from being on the brink of collapse, al-Qaida's core leadership remains a potent threat — and one that experts say has encouraged the terror network's spread into more countries today than it was operating in immediately after 9/11.
President Barack Obama, who ordered the May 2011 raid that killed Osama bin Laden, has described al-Qaida's headquarters as "a shadow of its former self." White House spokesman Jay Carney on Tuesday called it "severely diminished" and "decimated.""
Apparently not.
Meanwhile, notice the complete lack of media "navel gazing" surrounding Major Hassan; I mean, where are the countless hours of network TV talking heads hosting panels to speculate on what motivated Major Hassan to commit mass murder like we got after the Virginia Tech, Gabby Giffords, Aurora Theater, and Sandy Hook shootings? (It was mere minutes before the Tea Party was blamed for most of those) Where are the sappy calls for introspection and understanding? Where are the pleads for intervention to prevent this kind of violence in the future? Heck, even the anti-gun fascists are silent! (Is talk of denying the sale of weapons to homicidal Muslims what it takes to shut them up?)
And irony-of-ironies, Fort Hood, an actual army base, was rendered a "gun-free zone" by Bill Clinton in one if his first acts as President in March 1993.
As the Washington Times pointed out shortly after the Fort Hood shooting, "Because of Mr. Clinton, terrorists would face more return fire if they attacked a Texas Wal-Mart than the gunman faced at Fort Hood, home of the heavily armed and feared 1st Cavalry Division." Major Hassan's shooting spree ceased only after a civilian policewoman from off the base arrived to put a stop to it.
Just another example of how elections matter, decades after the fact.
@txGreg- Thank you for the clarification. Yes, we're talking about executing Hassan, legally, for 13 murders. And if some of the particulars strike people as being "cruel and unusual," then we should really work at making these measures more "usual" in cases like these.
ReplyDelete@John: Spot on, though, based on the performance of our "president" and many others in WDC, I'd say you really didn't need this nor the Wikileaks trial to demonstrate that it is very difficult to obtain a charge of treason, much less prosecute one. Just remember: I'll have a lot more flexibility after the election...
ReplyDeleteI remember shaking my head over that Clinton mandate. He nor Carter were any friend to the military, but to disarm your fighting force while on duty? Asinine.
EXCELLENT post, John, and an absolutely brilliantly accurate conclusion.
Bleu cheese, I mean STILTON,
ReplyDeleteEveryone is forgetting the brilliance of lamont in figuring out it was a VIDEO that 343 people saw that caused the furor of BenGazzara, and so it is with THIS imbroglio... here is the video that FORCED nidal hassan to react... I mean, how could he NOT respond when such an egregious attack against a peaceful religion is waged... it comes up as the first item after the ads...
http://youtu.be/OlMJfX_V6Ic
I can recall back in '07' when I first became aware that the current "Phony in Chief" even shared space on the same planet with me.
ReplyDeleteBeing the person that I am, I began to research this individual and do threat analysis. My findings were that he was nothing more than a "Pied Piper" groomed to be little more than a "Marxist Agitator" for the "MTV/American Idol" mentality segment of our population.
And as it is with any of these psedo-celebrity types; Its not about the quality of the music or lyrics, its about the delivery and performance.
To the great shame of our Republic, "the collectivist's" followers & complicity media toadies tremendous excitement at ANY of his pronouncements is more like a new foolishness than a return to old wisdom. If only these "sleeping unwashed masses" would wake up and be cautious and resistant when they hear the song he sings. It is in fact a new song, inspired by overheard snatches of the old songs, but expressing the RECENT and rather foolish excitement more than any ancient insight.
However, his song betrays an important weakness in thinking. Notice that it is almost always uttered in the passive voice - his songs describe actions, but it gives no indication of WHO is doing the actions! Somehow HOPE will be restored. Someone will bring about CHANGE. Most significantly, EVERYONE'S lives will be improved - but how, by whom? These things are all apparently just going to happen. And this points directly at the unrecognised problem with all the celebration of his supporters. NO ONE HAS ACTUALLY ACCOMPLISHED ANYTHING YET.
HOPE still needs to be restored. Someone still needs to bring about CHANGE. EVERYONE'S lives still need to be improved. And most importantly, our Constitution and Bill of Rights still need to be upheld.
Someone has to do these things, but the "sleepwalkers" continue to party, riot, and sing as if this had already happened somehow.
This segment of our society is more prone to echoing the mindless enthusiasm od Hansen's 'MMMMM-Bop' song than aspiring to Beethoven's 'Ode to Joy'
They are the real problem. Wake them up and get them to start exercising Critical Thinking, and you pull the teeth away from the phonies they follow.
Problem is.... How?
This fantasy of a heavenly utopia that would spontaneously emerge as soon as "the great phony" took office was certainly attractive to the dim wits in '07', even if it was rather unlikely. Those who believed his song to indicate only a future of joy and bliss were misunderstanding it, and had an unpleasant surprise coming to them.
ReplyDeleteNow, nearly six years later, all this has been proven fact. Yet these masses continue to allow themselves to willingly be led to slavery by "Race Hustlers & Limousine Liberals".
John & Emmentaler: Clinton and Carter aside, I don't recall having open access to my assigned weapon at any time during my membership in Uncle Sam's Bullshit & Marching Society(AKA the US Army). In fact, if memory serves(it was a LONG time ago)there were a couple of periods when I didn't even HAVE an assigned weapon. That was during schooling at the Defense Information School and when assigned as "permanent party" at Ft. Polk, LA.
ReplyDeleteEven when particpating in LBJ's "Youth in Asia" program there were times when we were supposed to be unarmed, i.e. when visiting the fleshpots of Saigon, a dictum that led to pretty massive possession of concealed pistols.
@It's No Gouda: yes, true - via military regs; however, I don't believe any president besides Clinton ever made it an executive decree. Didn't DoD Directive 5210.56 result from this decree? In any case, I''l grant you that the impact is pretty much the same; the agenda is what I believe differs. I may be all wet, but, as I understand it, the reg was/is intended to protect military personnel from each other, and gave the post commander some flexibility. Clinton's mandate, on the other hand, had more to do with gun control than the welfare of military personnel. Prior to that, it was up to the base commander as to who carried and who did not (it possibly still is up to the commander with all the power they wield on base!). Afterward, only the MPs could openly carry, and, then, only issued firearms (AR 190–14). At the very least, those on base should be allowed to carry those DHS scissors Big Sis says are so effective against an active shooter... (See? It's that agenda thing again.)
ReplyDelete(Wandering the hallway of the ancestral rowhouse, tattered robe flapping in the 'breezes', hair askew, mumble-singing a somewhat familiar tune I am reduced to by these continued assaults on reality as it is circa reing of the Wan)
ReplyDelete"Where have you gone, Jack Roooooby, a nation needs your lone gunman schtick right now, woa woa woa......"
@John the Econ- Great points throughout; we need to get you a Bill Whittle "Afterburner"-style set and just have you tell people what's going on.
ReplyDeleteI think "treason" is an outdated concept, as there is no longer an agreed-upon definition of our country as a cohesive whole that even makes it possible for someone to betray the country and all of its factions.
Meanwhile, Al-Qaeda HAS been growing, although it occasionally uses other names. Which doesn't fool anyone except Barry and his pals (and in truth, they're not fooled either - they just hope WE will be).
And you're absolutely right about the MSM whistling and looking the other way on Hasan. They just don't want to talk about him because he doesn't fit their narrative. And by NOT talking about him, they make the next such massacre all the more likely.
@Readers- A side note: since posting the cartoon and commentary, I've seen that most news sources show the killer's name as "Hasan," not "Hassan" (which is what I used). There are plenty of Internet sources with the double "s," but in the future I'll go with the preferred spelling.
@Emmentaler- I believe that "more flexibility" is eventually what caused the demise of the snake Ouroboros.
@Bruce- Well THERE you have it! Proof positive that our so-called "terror" problems aren't the fault of jihadists, but are in fact due to Youtube!
@Necron99- YES!!! You've put your finger on one of the (many) things that piss me off about Obama - his use of the passive voice when lecturing us, rather than showing any semblance of leadership! It gives him the ability to be a scold without actually having to take any responsibility.
For instance, when addressing the Trayvon Martin situation, Barry said "I think it's going to be important for all of us to do some soul-searching." Which means, precisely, what?! That the president has no opinion, but if each of us looks into our hearts we may magically come up with an answer? It's useless rhetoric!
"We are who we've been waiting for," "The fierce urgency of now demands...," and on and on.
Actually, my examples aren't good ones but YOURS are, Necron99. Vague talk of Hope and Change as if these things would happen magically, and not via work or a rededication to moral principles.
And as you say, the great unwashed have had plenty of time to see through Obama and see the damage he has wrought. And yet, in their infinite stupidity, greed, and unearned self-esteem, they still support him. And it sucks the life right out of my heart.
@It's No Gouda- I don't have military experience so can't really comment, other than to express disappointment that the first gun brought (by the GOOD guys) to the Fort Hood massacre had to come from off base. Certainly there should be armed personnel ready to respond on every military installation.
@Emmentaler- Frankly, I'd like to see Barry's Secret Service protectors disarmed to protect them from each other. And, of course, to protect Barry himself in case one of the agents is accidentally exposed to an inflammatory Youtube video.
@Stilton, it's not that Hasan and the Fort Hood shooting doesn't fit their narrative, it's that it totally decimates it. It's prima facie proof that:
ReplyDeleteA) We are at war with an ideology that is at least as hideous that Communism was.
B) The leadership of our military has been infiltrated and compromised not only by "squishy" enablers, but the enemy itself.
C) "Disarmed Victim Zones" are not just limited to airports, schools, and other like public places, but by our military itself.
They can't afford to have people think rationally about the absurdity of this all.
@John the Econ- You're absolutely right, and as sort of a sadly ironic underscore, I note that your comment was posted at 9:11 - my least favorite time on the clock.
