Unreality Show

obama, obama jokes, jay carney, south africa, deaf, schizophrenic, tea party, conservative, stilton jarlsberg, hope n' change, hope and change, spokesman, mandela, funeral
As Barack Obama delivered a self-serving eulogy which was only marginally about Nelson Mandela, his words were interpreted for the deaf by a man communicating in sign language which grew increasingly bizarre, while the message he was delivering became entirely meaningless. In other words, it was exactly like most of Obama's speeches.

But in this case, the alleged sign-language interpreter, Thamsanqa Jantjie, claims he was actually having a severe schizophrenic episode in which he started hearing voices, seeing angels, and believing that if he liked his health insurance he could keep it. Adding to the problem, it now seems that Mr. Jantjie knew as little about sign-language for the deaf as Kathleen Sibelius knew about hiring competent web designers.

To his credit, Mr. Jantjie tried to remain cool and composed when he noticed the winged lizards crawling out of Barack Obama's ears because he was still sane enough to realize that he was surrounded by dozens of well-armed security people who have extremely little tolerance for people who start to shriek and roll around on the ground near the president unless the SEIU has paid them to.

Happily, Mr. Jantjie is once again taking his anti-psychotic medications and should soon be ready to tackle an exciting new assignment:  hosting his own show on MSNBC and using sign-language to communicate with their many "differently abled" audience members who are hard of thinking.

That's sticking the knife home between the ribs.

  3. P. S. I know which one one was more believable and he stayed in South Africa.

  4. I thought maybe he was translating into African click language. Another differently abled group that no one seems to want to talk about. ;)

  5. Apparently he repeatedly used the signs for "donkey" and "prawns". - Given that Obama is a jackass with a fishy past, I find the interpreter's comments to be highly appropriate.

  6. I have in on good authority that Jay Carney has stepped down and President Obama has named Thamsanqua Jantjie as White House Press Secretary.

  7. It's brilliant! It was obviously a devious plot by deaf people to destroy Obama. They, too, were tired of listening to him.

  8. Dr. J I have to say that cartoon was absolutely the most brilliant thing I've ever read. The subtext, the classic irony, the naked purity of its truth and the statistical density just made my week. I was laughing out loud trying to eat my frozen waffle. (OK I know, I should have toasted it first)

The connection between Carney and Mujabbwahey or whatever, set up by this cartoon was nothing less than a grand slam. Obviously I'm not in your business ( My daily focus is to keep people safe at railroad crossings) but the obviosity of it was perfection.

I am jealous of your skill of combining humor, snark, satire and pointing out the obvious that is hiding in plain sight. How many of us could honestly say we could do that job? I freely admit I couldn't, of course, I guess that's why I come to HnC.

    Keep up the great work.

By the way, just so there is no misunderstanding I mean every word of what I said. I am not being sarcastic. Todays cartoon was just plain brilliant, and neon brain spiders? Just trying to get a mental image of them.

    Merry Christmas everyone!

  10. So many great commenters, it really brightens my day. Every day I'm depressed when I turn on the radio and find that Obama still exists. When is this nightmare going to end?
The Secret Service must be made up of the old Keystone Kops. That guy was standing right next to the liar-in-chief; he could have taken time out from his gyrations to calmly put a bullet through the fake El Jefe and ended up as the hero of the century.

  11. I don't know which is better today, the cartoon and narrative, or the comments. Well done to everyone.

  12. Stilton,
BRAVO Dr. J! Your brain spiders are obvioulsy functioning on a much, much higher plane than Carney's. Great cartoon and commentary; you are indeed a gifted wordsmith. I will point out, though, that you missed one detail. Jantjie is obviously a racist. Coffee spew award goes to "...hard of thinking!"

This event got me to fantasizing about Garrett Morris being the official White House interpreter for the hearing impaired.

It is truly priceless that O'numbnuts' attendance at Mandela's funeral will be marked in history not by his passionate and brilliant speech, but rather by a "selfie" with a blonde chick, and a mental patient making meaningless gestures in the background during his I I I, ME ME ME blather. People have already forgotten Barry's words, but the "signing psycho" will live on in Youtube infamy.

Can only hope so - we've seen our fair share of the "Downfall" parody videos ("Hitler finds out ......")

Someone with talent could take the "Signing psycho" video - mute down Obama's voice, then do captions of what Obama "really" means to be saying. Actually, even Obama's true words would be funny overlaid on that video.

The "you can keep your insurance, period" would be a good start.

  15. Here is a comment that is showing up all over the internet - I attribute it to commenter Bob Boyd at Althouse as that is where I saw it first, but others are posting it as their own.

Without any training or experience, this guy applied for the job, got the job and fooled people for years by just putting on an elaborate show. The fact that he was standing on stage next to a lot of important people put him beyond question in the minds of most people. Those who really understood that what he was saying actually made no sense were ignored.

And now we have this South African interpreter doing the same thing.

  18. Oh, man....greaaat stuff today, folks! That incident in South Africa was unbelievable...except that EVERYTHING about Obama is UNBELIEVABLE, as he and his crew have demonstrated these last few days!

Isn't it great, in one way, guys,....WE all knew this is where he and his cohorts operate, we just did not know to what extent! And we've known it since he was campaigning!

    Exceptional work today, Doc!!

The video is an awesome idea, and I think we both know someone who would be up to the task. Stilt? It could also be done with snapshots as well.

    rickn8or,
Yes, but tell us how you REALLY feel about kwanzaa. And you ask who vetted the signer. It was the same people who vetted obama... nobody.

  20. @Readers- I don't have much to add other than that I'm really enjoying all the comments. The whole situation is funny because the parallels between Obama and the other fraud on stage are so perfect.

Meanwhile, the deaf community is rightfully outraged and says such an incident is unheard of. Then again, they say that about everything.

    (Sorry! Sorry!)

    ReplyDelete
  21. @ Colby; we both know someone who would be up to the task. Stilt?

My thoughts exactly, I was going to suggest that as a holiday gift from Stilt to his faithful HNC readers, but then I figure that it would be rude to demand a present.

  22. Tough to add anything to the above regarding the "lost in translation" episode. Like I said yesterday, the deaf got the better speech.

Alas, in the end all this provides other than a hearty laugh at government incompetence is a distraction from government incompetence that actually affects people.

  23. Which brings me to the latest ObamaCare news. More phony stats from the White House: Mrs. Econ has a great story from the wonderful “dot com” era, when she was representing her company at some industry shindig where new companies would puff their feathers about how wonderful they were, even though they’d actually never made a dime. One such exchange went something like this: “We’ve increased our sales 50% in the last 45 days”. Mrs. Econ would ask, “And what were those sales?” And the reply was “That’s proprietary information, but the 50% is accurate.”

We regularly laugh at this every time someone wishes to promote their supposed success with contextless percentages.

Such was the case the other day when HHS released their latest ObamaCare enrollment numbers. We are being told that 364,682 have “signed up” on the Federal and state exchanges. Who hoo! Except that we weren’t told how many of those 364,682 people were actually able or willing to complete the transaction. That’s like Amazon.com counting everything that is put in a “cart” as a sale, instead of only the goods that are actually paid for and shipped.

And, of course, we’re still being denied the demographic information that will determine if ObamaCare will be viable or not; meaning will the young-and-healthies who are going uninsured by choice but are needed to subsidize the old and not-so-healthy signing up? And what percentage of those signing up are Medicaid or are only doing so because they’re totally subsidized?

I think the answer is pretty obvious; If the real data on ObamaCare was the least bit flattering, it would be proclaimed in 300-point type on the front page of every newspaper, web site, and news show in the country. Instead, all we are getting are these evasive and totally meaningless site-hit stats which only allow reporters and pundits to guess as to their real meaning.

    http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702304477704579252481397105554

But the reality comes down to this, that to date the “net” enrollment of ObamaCare is at least a negative 4-million; this is, counting the millions of people who’ve lost their insurance because the Obama Administration considered them “non compliant” minus those who've actually managed to purchase compliant policies. And that 4-million also doesn’t include the millions who’ve had their jobs cut to part-time status, or lost their jobs and employer-provided coverage altogether.

    ReplyDelete
  24. @alan,

You only think it would be rude to demand a present because you're not one of Barack Hussein's constituents.

    ReplyDelete
  25. As I’ve mentioned before, the “back end” of ObamaCare is still constipated. Capitol Hill staffers who signed up for ObamaCare through the District’s exchange are being told to confirm their enrollments in person:

    http://thehill.com/blogs/healthwatch/health-reform-implementation/192820-hill-staffers-warned-not-to-rely-on-info-from

In other words, don’t believe an exchange site when it tells you that you now have insurance. Best confirm with your “Disbursing Office”.

Wait. You don’t have a “Disbursing Office” to call? Me neither. I guess the rest of us are stuck calling our Acorn “navigators” and hoping for the best. White House spokesman Josh Earnest said Wednesday that the administration was committed to making sure “information has been conveyed accurately and completely,” but he stopped short of guaranteeing coverage to those affected by the transmission errors.
In other words, if you think you’ve got your ObamaCare but it turns out that you do not, you have no recourse. Nobody is obligated to help you. Sorry, here’s your hospital bill. And good luck with suing Obama.

Oh, and the award for worst return on investment for a state-run exchange goes to Oregon, which after spending $300-million dollars has managed to sign up only 44 people:

    http://m.washingtonexaminer.com/oregon-signs-up-just-44-people-for-obamacare-despite-spending-300-million/article/2540529

That’s almost $7,000,000 per enrollee! Here’s an offer to any state: Pay Mrs. Econ & I $7,000,000 in cash, and you will never have to drop another dime on our health care ever again!

    ReplyDelete
  26. @alan markus- Trust me, I'm trying to figure out a way to isolate that guy's video for future use. I'd like to see him inserted on clips of every speech Obama has ever given. Even if I have to do it myself.

@John the Econ- We know two things with certainty: the stats being released show that Obamacare is a disaster and even those stats have been faked to conceal the real scope of the disaster.

The situation in Oregon is a stunner: $7 million spent on each and every person who has enrolled, and not a damn dime of that goes to actual healthcare. Nope - it's gone to the Acorn types to use for whatever mischief they want to get up to.

Meanwhile, I read in the WSJ that the Obama administration is telling insurance companies to pay the medical bills of people who think that they have gotten a plan, but actually haven't - and have additionally made no payment to a plan. Better still, the companies are supposed to pay for benefits even if they aren't covered under the plan that the non-enrollees think they have. Yeah, there's a business model that will work.

And there's a huge question which I wish someone in Washington would address: how the hell can Barry and HHS keep making up changes to the law, issuing waivers, and exerting non-legal pressure to try to patch up the holes in this godawful legislation? It's bad enough that these idiots are destroying our nation's healthcare system, but when they make law meaningless then they're destroying our nation itself.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I just don't understand why everyone isn't focusing on the up to $2,500.00 savings that
Obamacare will provide for families since it now law. Or do we have to wait until all the group health policies are cancelled in 2015 when that mandate takes effect unless it is delayed until after the 2016 election.

    ReplyDelete
  28. So seriously, insurance companies are now supposed to assume that any bill that shows up is legit and just pay it even though they've never heard of the claimant? Oh, I get it! They expect the insurance industry to handle claims just like Medicare/Medicaid does! Write checks first, and ask questions later, if ever.

@Stilton, you know from day-1 that I've tried to point out to anyone who'd listen that the real agenda of ObamaCare was to destroy what was left of the private marketplace for insurance and care in America. And come January 1st, America will finally get to see first hand the reality become undeniable.

@pfdr, good question. As someone who's seen their rates more than double since Obama has taken office, I've been laser-focused on Obama's 2nd-biggest lie about my insurance being $2,500 cheaper by the end of his first time. I should be at least $7,600-a-year wealthier today.

In fact, I was rather disappointed in Chris Wallace who was interviewing ObamaCare architect Ezekiel Emanuel last week, who was defending Obama's "You can keep it" lie by actually saying "But look, if you want to pay more for an insurance company that covers your doctor, you can do that." Chris failed to ask the obvious follow-up question: "But wasn't keeping your coverage and doctor supposed to be $2,500 cheaper instead of more expensive?"

If Chris Wallace (on Fox, no less) isn't going to ask that question, then who is?

  31. It's something I've wanted to know for a long time, too, Dr. J. Ever since Bathhouse Barry became king, how the hell is it that he/she/it can just make up a law, or change a law, whenever it fits his/her/its purpose?! Hmmm... I suppose that's a rhetorical question; it must have something to do with being a king.

BTW, I was doing some work in a friend's house Saturday, and he invited some fellow 1954 Annapolis grads over to watch the Army/Navy game. EVERY ONE of them conducted themselves as a man of honor, and to a MAN they considered lamont to be intent on destroying this nation! Granted I live in a heavily conservative and military area, but I haven't met ONE person who thinks lamont deserves or is competent to serve in ANY position of leadership, most ASSUREDLY NOT as Commander-in-Chief.

  34. As a deaf man living in the good ol' USA, I can tell you the dude wasn't using American Sign Language (ASL) but most sign languages have a structure that is similar worldwide. What I have seen, the dude was just repetitive and his facial expressions (How we know the inflection of the speaker's voice) was non-existent. And no Stilton, your token deaf fan is not offended.

    ReplyDelete
  35. @Eric Marks- Glad that I didn't offend, as I certainly take hearing loss seriously. This is the year that I finally had to commit to wearing hearing aids - which still haven't been fine-tuned enough that I'm able to easily follow many conversations. Granted, that's a long way from being deaf, but I felt like my hearing loss gave me at least a toe in the water to make a joke.

    ReplyDelete
  39. @Nonny Mouse, a decade or so ago I took a pledge for the benefit of the planet to keep my personal carbon footprint to less than that of Al Gore's. So far, I've found it easy to keep.

Earlier this year, Obama took his $100-million mega-junket to Africa, and told a mass of impoverished African youth, "Ultimately, if you think about all the youth that everybody has mentioned here in Africa, if everybody is raising living standards to the point where everybody has got a car and everybody has got air conditioning, and everybody has got a big house, well, the planet will boil over -- unless we find new ways of producing energy."

Get it poor Africans? This guy flies in on a personal 747 airliner that he takes on a whim every week to play golf with his buddies, and then says no cars, air conditioning or nice homes for you. We intend to keep you poor and dependent. It's for the planet, after all.

That's why this man must be either evil or a complete idiot. Nobody who wasn't one or the other could say something silly like that and sleep at night.

    ReplyDelete
  40. @A Nonny Mouse & Marine4ever- Barry is planning on doing another 17-day vacation in Hawaii; I say we lock the doors to the mainland while he's over there golfing and eating shave ice.

@Coon Tasty- Sadly, even if I lost my hearing completely at this point, I'd still hear that jackass's voice reverberating in my head.

@John the Econ- Yep, yep, yep. And by the way, Barry is infamous for not giving a flying flip about his carbon footprint, keeping the heat cranked way up in the Oval Office. As David Axelrod said, "you could grow orchids in there."

    ReplyDelete
  41. Not a surprise, @Stilton. (And the Hotair story is going in my liberal hypocrisy file) It's unusual that I enter a government building where the atmosphere is anywhere near the EPA recommended settings.

    ReplyDelete
  42. @John the Econ- I've also read that Barry cranks up the heat so he can work in shirtsleeves while others, feeling the gravitas of the Oval Office, wear their suits and ties and start to sweat. Which, in itself, may be Barry's goal to keep others at a disadvantage.

    ReplyDelete
  43. @Stilt,

I have to wonder who are those who recognize and RESPECT the gravitas of the Oval Office--who are also Demo_Rats. Certainly Barack Hussein doesn't and most likely anyone he brought from Chicago.
