Pitiful excuse of a Super Bowl. I've been a Broncos fan, not rabid, but a fan, since the franchise started when I was 4 years old. The alleged game yesterday pretty much wiped out the good memories of the two that they won back to back, on the strength of Terrell Davis. Pitiful and disgraceful.
What a horrible day in the Colby household. Mrs. Colby and I are huge Bronco fans, and I think this was the first Stuporbowl I can remember that we just gave up, shut off the TV and went to bed. Although, I still feel pain from their first one back in 1978, when SF beat the snot out of them, 55-10. Hats off to Seattle; they made the League's MVP look completely inept. There's always next year....
Just be glad if you didn't actually go to the Superbowl. The cheapest tickets cost $1,816, while the most expensive ran around $449,645. All that to submit to police state scanners, pat downs, and para-military snipers aiming assault rifles at you while you sit on an uncomfortable seat in the cold and watch a ridiculous blow-out of a game.
@Colby I too am a Broncos fan, and do remember SF beating the snot out of us 55-10; however, it was Dallas whom beat Red Miller's team in Denver's first Super Bowl27-10 in New Orleans.

@Colby- Believe me, I was thinking about you when the Broncos started sinking beneath the waves (never to reappear). But yes, there's always next year - and despite the Superbowl loss, the Broncos had a heckuva season.
@Geoff King- I frankly don't understand why people pony up that kind of money for Superbowl tickets when they could buy an entire superduper home entertainment system for the same amount and get razor-sharp high-def graphics, closeups, and replays from the comfort of their favorite chair.
Of course, if you're a conservative there might still be a para-military sniper keeping an eye on you. You never know.
@robsan19- Yeah! (I have an abysmal ignorance about sports, but figured that I'd seem more manly if I agreed with you.)

Just occurred to me, I TOTALLY called it last night... When it was revealed that the person singing the anthem was an opera singer, my comment was "that's it, game's over, the Fat Lady sang"... how right I was...
Also, as poor a showing as the Broncos had, at least they GOT there...
Saw clips of O' interviewing o...same old obfuscation, nuancing, and dancing around the questions. One thing struck me that O'Reilly said later...he said, "I totally feel that he is a 'believer' in his policies, and that he does not intend to hurt anyone." Hmmm...don't know about that, but, at this point...WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?
Robsan19, Oops! Right you are! I guess the 55-10 thing was so painful, I was trying to make it longer ago than it really was. And let's not forget the drubbings by NY and Washington. Sigh.... At least we won two of 'em!
@Pete, Yes, it's quite an accomplishment to just make it to the big dance, and I'm hoping The Lions will be there soon; they are way overdue.
The Econ family didn't have a dog in the fight, either at the Superbowl, or the far more competitive "Puppy Bowl", but we were pulling for Seattle because we personally knew a bunch of little boys who consider themselves as the "12 Man".
The Broncos really never recovered from that safety in the first minute of the game. Pretty much set the tone for almost everything that followed.
@CenTexTim, if this morning's performance of the stock market and recent economic news is any indication, that predictor may not play out, at least very soon. But that's not to say that I don't enjoy markets that dump significantly. While the media whips up anxiety over what's happening to everyone's 401K, I treat it as an opportunity.
@Colby: Way, way, way, way, way, way, way, way overdue. Never is a long, long time. However, one of the requirements for making it to the Bowl is that the team has to WORK its way there. C'mon, get real: They're in Detroit. NO-ONE works in Detroit anymore...
As for the Broncos, I blame legalized marijuana :)
