Forget Iran's nuke-seeking mullahs - the real fireworks in this week's political scene happened when Dick Cheney went nuclear on Barack Obama's well-deserving keister.
Appearing on a radio interview with host Hugh Hewitt, the former Vice-President was asked to assess Barry's (ahem) "vision" for the policies he's executing in the Middle East. To which Mr. Cheney replied, "I think his actions are constituted in my mind as those of the worst president we've ever had."
And even though many of us would also call that the most obvious statement ever made, very few in either politics or the media have had the courage - and love of country - to say it.
But that wasn't even the best thing Mr. Cheney said. For us, it was this:
"If you had somebody as president who wanted to take America down, who wanted to fundamentally weaken our position in the world and reduce our capacity to influence events, turn our back on our allies and encourage our adversaries, it would look exactly like what Barack Obama’s doing."
Hope n' Change has made this same point repeatedly, but it can't be said often enough. The debate over whether Obama is damaging our country by intent or by ineptitude is entirely meaningless, because either way his actions are the same...and are causing the same chaos.
Is it Evil or Stupidity that has caused Obama to ignore ISIS, give up our victories in the Middle East, turn his back on Israel and other allies, and decide that a nuclear-armed Iran is a good thing?
Is it Evil or Stupidity that keeps Obama from bringing our runaway debt under control, causes him to wage war on our nation's energy resources, and demonize the most productive citizens?
Is it Evil or Stupidity which inspires Obama to issue threats against any border agents who attempt to enforce the law rather than stemming the tide of illegals flooding our country (including another 39,000 juveniles heading our way).
Is it Evil or Stupidity that motivates Obama to keep stoking the fires for a race war in our country while doing everything in his power to keep Black Americans on their knees?
And the answer is, ironically, "what difference does it make?" Because Obama's intentions don't matter if the end result of his actions is the crippling of America.
Nor do the intentions of his supporters, be they evil or stupid. Or quite possibly both.
Once again, sexism raises its ugly head.
Dick should offer to go hunting with Jimmy and Barry! Do 'em all good!
ReplyDeleteUp a bit earlier this morning and glad of it; well said and funny. And Lucy's back; what a hoot.
ReplyDeleteMy chat group has had this discussion a coupla times, whether Soetoro is evil or simply incompetent. General consensus was that he is evil because he is so anti-American, but I disagree, mostly on semantics.
ReplyDeleteThat he is arrogant is inarguable. Petulant, definitely. Narcissistic, oh, yeah! He is educated far beyond his natural intelligence, little more than a parrot reciting the Soros mantra in an oversized empty suit manipulated by Jarrett.
I see him asa wannabe frat boy who was never inducted into anything. He wants so badly to be cool, but hasn't a clue how to go about it. His world view is skewed by his fundamental loyalty to Islam under the thin taqiyyah guise of Christianity.
His problem is egotism, not evil. His great love of self relegates anything else to insignificance, and he wouldn't know how to destroy a termite mound if he didn't have instructions on his teleprompter.
Evil, no. Needs to be squashed under foot like a cockroach as a disease-carrying threat to general health and safety of the nation, yes.
Maybe moochelle could incorporate a new work-out routine to team up with barry's retarded policies:
ReplyDeleteGet UP for Downs. 60 minutes a day....mmm-mmm-mmm barack hussein obama.
As a 9/11 Truther, I find anything Dick Cheney says to be highly suspect, since he ordered the military stand down on that fateful day and was seen wandering around outdoors instead of in a required secure location after the alleged plane destroyed the Pentagon budget office where Donald Rumsfeld had just coincidentally announced that 2.3 trillion dollars had gone missing and any investigation as to it's whereabouts became impossible after the attack.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.storyleak.com/vp-cheney-issued-911-stand-down-orders-while-missile-approached-pentagon-tip-of-the-government-conspiracy/
However, I will agree with Cheney on his assessment of Ă˜bama, simply because I believe Bush is not intelligent enough to be the "worst president we've ever had".
The critical question is not whether barry is Evil or Stupid, but rather what can we do to undo the damage he has caused*.
ReplyDeleteSadly, from where I sit, the answer is "not much" ... except, perhaps, to have some 'coffee' this morning.
Why this should be news befuddles me, other than it takes the media attention away from the cluster Obama is about to sign, which totally vindicates what Cheney says. Like the stupid deal Clinton did with North Korea 20 years ago, Iran wants the part of the deal they are after up-front, for consideration to be paid later. Like with the Norks, it looks like we're about to get rolled, again. This is why Democrats cannot be trusted to do foreign policy.
ReplyDeleteAnd Cheney is right: If you actually wanted to destroy America, what could one possibly do differently?
If there's an upside to the Obama era, it's that it should finally put an end to the meme that these overcredentialed Ivy leaguers are the smartest people in the world. In fact, some of them are even having trouble digesting the "big words" coming from the adults.
If fact, my assessment of "smart people" isn't left just to the Ivy league, but to mainstream American academia in general. The latest example comes courtesy of the University of Michigan, which cancelled a scheduled showing of "American Sniper" because some Muslim kids complained. So "American Sniper" was replaced by (and you can't make this up) "Paddington Bear". Hopefully none of UM's 20-somethings will be offended or emotionally crippled by the teddy bear movie.
Fortunately, there's still a few people and UM with balls, namely football coach Jim Harbaugh, who announced that the football team would be showing and watching the movie.
This wasn't necessary, as by this time, the UM administration was starting to feel the heat over their PC stupidity, and announced that they'd be showing both movies. The poor, easily offended progressive weaklings will still be able to watch their teddy bear movie.
This is academia in America in the 21st century; a Progressive romper room. It's scary that we allow these children to procreate and vote.
Geoff King,
ReplyDeleteI agree that, when a person makes a statement which they proclaim to be a true fact, it can be considered by others to be "suspect," but Mr. Cheney was expressing an opinion. How can an opinion be "suspect?"
And your link simply proves that you can find anything on the internet, even proof of global warming, sasquatch, and honest politicians.
@Proof- Classic male bonding. What could go wrong?
ReplyDelete@Rod- I can't go too long without letting Lucy air her views. I think it does us all good to consider views from the opposing side.
@bocopro- I'm going to respectfully disagree. Mind you, I agree with almost everything you said, but I agree with Dinesh D'Souza's theory that the "dreams from my father" that Obama inherited were to take down American colonialism, redistribute our wealth globally, and end our reign as a superpower. So my vote goes to "evil."
@Japheaux- I've got a good friend with Downs who I respect infinitely more than Barry.
@Geoff King- I'm afraid I can't get on the "truther" train, even after poking around at various articles which claim to reveal the conspiracies.
@CenTexTim- Exactly; how can we fix the existing damage and prevent more damage? And the answer is: I don't know. Although for starters, Congress needs to rein in Barry's increasingly dictatorial use of executive orders.
@John the Econ- I'm pretty sure that Iran will get exactly what it wants, because Barry wants them to have it (as long as he can get some modicum of political ass-covering).
Your link to the story about Marie Harf dismissing Iran policy critiques by Henry Kissinger and George Schultz by saying "I heard a lot of, sort of, big words and big thoughts in that piece" thoroughly depressing. It's "Idiocracy" brought to life, with arguments being dismissed (by idiots) out of hand because of the "big words."
And the "American Sniper" story is also depressing. I remember when students were supposed to be challenged by different viewpoints on campus. Now, they reject such stimuli as being offensive to their sensibilities even without seeing/hearing/reading the material in question. Ironically, in this case they're against an anti-war movie and probably don't even know it.
@Ben Dover- I believe anything can be found on the Internet, right or wrong. Which is why it's still important for news sources to have, and guard, credibility.
Grey's Law: "Any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice."

I live around the corner on the other side of the planet. AKA Downunder.
ReplyDeleteWhat I do not understand is how the US system apparently enables one person to bring your fabulous country to its knees. Has the president always had the power to disregard the country's laws unimpeded and unpunished?
Is the Capitol just a nice place to go for lunch? Doesn't anyone or any body have the power or the will to stop a person who appears quite treacherous?
In what ways is a one man dictatorship different to today's USA?
I've always had a big problem with stating the obvious but kudos to Dick Cheney for saying what we KNOW to be obvious. No way do I think the dic is stupid. He knows exactly what he's doing and it's straight out of the Marxist playbook. Ergo...evil. As for the nonsense at U of M, that university and the city of Ann Arbor are known liberal enclaves. As a Michigander I can vouch for that with certainty.
ReplyDeleteWell, Lefty Lucy, I heard on the radio this morning that Hillary is going to try to compete for Worst President Ever. She will announce her candidacy on Sunday. Now, the MSM will back her all the way instead of dumping her for Barack Hussein like they did in 2008. They are probably figuring that they don't need to expend time and energy protecting Slick Willie any more, because he's "old news". So now, it'll be All Hillary, All The Time from the news media. The traitorous scumbags.
ReplyDeleteLefty Lucy is spot-on today...although it would take some doing to surpass O's capacity for destruction! And, I believe the causes are 'evil' AND 'stupid'! And I long for the day when 'men' of his ilk down thru history get what's coming to them as God sets the whole thing straight one these old days!

There is one thing that cannot be found on the Internet: a logical argument as to how a huge airliner could possibly be flown into the most secure building on the planet, situated in the middle of the most secure air space on the planet, when that building has the most advanced anti missile and anti aircraft defense system on the planet mounted on it's own roof that is designed to take out multiple incoming aircraft or ballistic missile targets, and is surrounded by several highly advanced military and air force bases, and was aware that NORAD had already gone to DEFCON 1.
ReplyDeleteEiither we have wasted billions of dollars on national defense, or the entire 9/11 scenario was orchestrated. There are no other possibilities.
There is one other possibility, @Geoff King: Sheer incompetence.
ReplyDelete@Geoff King- I haven't been able to find confirmation that the Pentagon had any such anti-missile, anti-aircraft weaponry mounted on its roof.
ReplyDeleteMoreover, the Pentagon is situated in very close proximity to a civilian airport. It would be hard to know if an incoming jetliner was heading for the runway or the Pentagon until it was too late to do much of anything.
And as always, we really can't rule out wasted money and incompetence.
