Faceless Evil
Nightmarish evil in the form of a young man came to a South Carolina church Wednesday night. He walked in the door, took a seat with others in a Bible study meeting, and waited - no doubt smiling and nodding over the course of an hour - after which some unspeakable, pustulent growth in his soul ripened and burst...and the killing began.
He shot 9 black men and women to death, pausing to reload his weapon several times, then spared one woman so she could "tell the world what happened."
But what he really wanted was for the world to know his name. To give him notoriety, even of the most heinous kind, because he believed it better than the nameless obscurity which he actually deserved.
Which is why you won't see his name or face here. Fame is not a just reward for being a murderous loser.
The tragedy of what happened to those 9 victims is unfathomable. And there will certainly be a second tragedy when this horror is eagerly appropriated and manipulated for political purposes, because such is the sad nature of our times.
So Hope n' Change would like to preemptively clear the air by naming some of those who are not to blame for this massacre: Democrats or Republicans. White people or black people. Al Sharpton or Rush Limbaugh.
Neither the NRA nor the NAACP is to blame. Not Facebook, Youtube, Twitter or Instagram. This is not the fault of Barack Obama, movies, television, Rap music, violent video games, schools, religion or atheism.
The list could go on endlessly, because there is only one person at fault here. A nameless, faceless hate-filled punk who is certainly insane.
We only hope that our nation can maintain its own sanity enough to remember that simple fact over the next few days.
Stilton Jarlsberg
Well said Stilt! Especially in regards to what you chose NOT to say. When it comes to the names of these narcissistic stains, "less is more" for sure.
ReplyDeleteGood call. If these killers knew there was only anonymity at the end of their worthless lives, they find some other way to find their fifteen minutes of fame.
ReplyDelete@Stilton you are correct as usual. I want to add one more to the long list of crazy people.
ReplyDeleteSouth Carolina State House Minority Leader Rep. J. Todd Rutherford (D)said: (the suspect) "did so based on some ill-gotten belief, on some wrong belief that it’s okay to do that." "He hears that, because he watches the news, and he watches things like Fox News, where they talk about things that they call news, but they’re really not.
They use that coded language, they use hate speech, they talk about the president as if he’s not the president. They talk about church-goers as if they’re really not church-goers. And that’s what this young man acted on. That’s why he could walk into a church and treat people like animals when they’re really human beings.”
I think that Mr. Rutherford needs to find some help for himself.
I don't know about others, but I keep missing the code. Do I need a decoder ring?
Yes it was very well said, I will add this though,it is a horrendous loss of life for 5 minutes of notoriety stoked only further by the indignant sensationalism of the modern press.
ReplyDeleteStilton: you indicated that this killer was insane. I have heard it said that it can be considered insane to destroy that which is priceless. as I can't determine the worth of a human life, it is ,therefore, priceless. it follows logic that taking a life is considered insanity. however, that does not absolve him of his crime.
ReplyDeleteI will say that the great uniter's speech afterwards was a crass piece of propganda.
ReplyDeleteYes the blame falls squarely on the shoulders of this cowardly little punk.
The greatest sin and failure of obozo has been the missed opportunity to continue assimilation and continue the great American melting pot. I hope there is a ring below what dante wrote about for this one and his minions.
I pray for peace and healing for all those effected. Our heart goes out to them in these times of troubles.
ReplyDeleteWhat a horrible, senseless tragedy. And to add insult to injury the race baiters are all over this. This young man's actions do not represent the feelings of the rest of the United States but sadly that's what the baiters will sermonize just to advance their own hate filled agendas. I pray for unification and serenity.
ReplyDeleteWell said Stilton, my hat is off to you. As a commenter on another blog noted, in other news 150 million law-abiding gun owners killed absolutely no one that horrible day. May the victims and their families find peace.
ReplyDeleteThank you for a glimpse of sanity in these troubled times.
ReplyDeleteWhat the MSM fails to report in this case, as usual, is that the shooter was on Suboxone - a habit forming drug used to fight opiate addiction which is also known to cause violent behavior. What they and the gun control freaks also fail to mention is that the shooter had a previous felony drug conviction, making it illegal for him to own a gun in the first place. Stricter gun laws would not have prevented this tragedy.
ReplyDeleteThe biblical doctrine of man's depravity explains this young man's horrible deeds and mindset. It is by the grace of God that men are not as wicked as they could be.
ReplyDeleteIf members of that church were carrying sidearms, this punk would not have killed as many.
Amen.
ReplyDeleteIn spite of the manipulation and exploitation, we will probably learn that this still nameless and faceless punk (Thank you, Stilt) has been given passes, had excuses made for him, and assumed rights where he should have earned privileges for a long time. I'm very concerned about how prevalent that has become.
ReplyDeleteYes, well said Sir.
ReplyDeleteEvil. That is all. Let us mourn and then move on. That is wishful thinking on my part but I will say it anyway.
Thanks @Stilton for refusing to publish his face & name. I've long argued that in this age of extreme narcissist horrors that since what these monsters really seek is attention, that perpetrators should only referred to in media by a number, say 20150617. That will certainly take much of the glamour out of googling one's own name after the fact.
ReplyDeleteOver the coming days and weeks, we'll be exposed to countless explanations and speculation as to what made this kid tick. Sometimes when pure evil is involved, there is no simple explanation. Evil is just evil.
And of course, we cannot discount the possibility that he was an extreme racist. They exist, and we're fools if we pretend that they don't. Acts like this should remind us that extreme hate can easily overpower rational thought; even more easily so when mind-altering substances are involved.
And we do know that he had drug issues. Mind-altering substances and not-yet-developed adolescent brains are never a good mix. No doubt that had a part to play. (I find it oxymoronic that the trend in America is to legalize mind-altering substances while outlawing guns)
We need to pray for the victims of this tragedy, and we need to pray for the sanity of our nation as people remain upset and start speaking and acting based more on emotions (like hate) that rational thought. After all, I suspect that is what 20150617 actually wants to happen.

ReplyDeleteDecided to take the "high road" huh? If you think environment had "nothing" to do with this you all are sadly mistaken.
ReplyDeleteFor all of those who are wont to shuffle up their deck of race cards and play them for the slightest of words or deeds, this is what a true racist looks like. I also must commend the people in the community of all races who came together, arms joined to mourn the loss rather than burn and loot. And it knocked Rachel Dolezal off the news. That's all.
ReplyDelete@Joseph ET- Rutherford should be ashamed of himself. He's not just wrong, he's actively lying to promote discord.
ReplyDelete@George in Houtx- We're in agreement. When I called the killer insane, I wasn't referring to the kind of diagnosis which would amount to a legal defense. I'm talking moral insanity.
@REM1875- I come close to weeping at the thought of the racial progress this country could have made in the last six years if it was really something the president and his cronies wanted. Instead, we have lost precious ground and not by accident.
@Geoff King- It will be interesting to see what comes out about the shooter's mental condition and medications. I think a lot of good is done by some of those meds - but they can also be incredibly dangerous.
@Manfred- I certainly wish that someone in that church had been armed and able to stop the carnage.
@Rod- I'm sure you're right; we're going to hear a frightening history fraught with warning signs. Of course, the trick is to prevent the real lunatics from acting out without crippling the freedoms of the general population.
@Juanita the Icon- My thoughts exactly.
@John the Econ- Good points. And I certainly don't deny the existence of racism and the damage it does. Puzzlingly, the shooter's Facebook page showed one third of his "friends" to be black.
And your summary is exactly right: what 20150617 wanted was black and white Americans at each other's throats. I hope he'll be bitterly disappointed.
@mlester101- As if we needed another iota of evidence that Hillary is a divisive, opportunistic whore.
@Anonymous- Let's be clear, we all live and act in the context of what goes on around us. That has an effect - but we are all still individually responsible for our actions, which is why I'm refusing to play the blame game.
But I'm intrigued by your somewhat cryptic comment; would you like to amplify on what "environment" you're referring to?
@Shelly- Well said.
ReplyDeleteExactly right.
ReplyDelete- Charlie
I told my wife as soon as I saw this item on air, "I'll bet drugs were involved", simply because in every case such as this, drugs were a factor. According to the Word of God, there is a tangible link between drugs and demonism, the word for demonism being 'pharmachia',(like in 'pharmacy') probably not spelled correctly, but I feel drugs open the door to evil, and it always comes through that door, to steal, kill and destroy, because the devil does just that if you let him.
ReplyDeleteGod bless those folks in Charleston. And thank you for you tasteful handling of the whole thing.
Having watched the "victim impact" statements of the various family representatives of the deceased I can only say that I am in awe of these families so firmly grounded in their faith that they can say, as most did, that they forgive him his sins and hope that God had mercy upon him. These people, as their family representatives reflect, were of the finest quality that our nation can produce.
ReplyDeleteThe sick little monster, just the opposite.
Each of us should and must be seen as individuals and judged on "the content of their character".
Racism is a hideous ugly creed and this vile act among the worst expressions of that creed.
Now, can we please have the press call racism for what it is every time it rears it's ugly head no matter what form it takes.
-Brad
As I understand it, in the state of South Carolina, churches can ban guns from their premises and that that was the policy of this church. Unfortunately, this horse has already left the barn but I believe a whole lot of frisking is gonna be going on from these days forward.
ReplyDelete"Gun free" zones only impair law abiding people. They declare "open season" for the lawless.
ReplyDeleteI endorse this message and add to the list of things that were NOT involved: flags.
ReplyDeleteStilton: God Bless you for the straight-forward insight on this terrible tragedy caused by an evil person with absolutely no morals. My Prayers and thoughts are with the victims/families/friends of these good heart-ed Church-goers who were there to only share faith in the Lord and each other.
ReplyDeleteThe city of Charleston has come together, in all races, to mourn and make strength out of this weakness that they endure in this time of sorrow and remembrance.
I wonder if Al(not so) Sharpton will still go to Charleston, even if there aren't any riots/looting/burning buildings/cars on fire. It's gotta piss off Oracebaitinghater that his agenda won't be realized there. I hope the Charleston people tell Sharpton/et all to stay away.
Thank you so much for this post. I rant about this all the time. My blood boils when I see the television coverage with the name and face over and over again. Thank you for making this point so clearly and eloquently. If only the mainstream media could understand this.
ReplyDeleteQuit promoting Charleston HOax. Those hucksters got $30,000,00 from Uncle Sambo, and more from all the donation pages.
ReplyDelete@Bob Bacon- I'll agree that it was inappropriate for Obama to open up the purse strings for Charleston when he hasn't done the same for many others, but that's on his head - not the families of victims. I've seen no evidence whatsoever that the killings were a hoax, nor do I believe this was a false flag operation.
ReplyDeleteAll that being said, more people were killed in Chicago over the July 4th weekend than in Charleston - and nobody seems to give a damn. Apparently #BlackLivesMatter only when it's politically convenient.
