Slings and Narrows

Monday's meeting between Barack Obama and Bibi Netanyahu reminded us of the old joke about the tragedy associated with a performance of "Our American Cousin" at Ford's Theater: "Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the show?"

Because that was the same kind of wildly dismissive, "ignoring the elephant in the room" remark that B. Hussein made to the press about his summit with Netanyahu. Referring to his preposterous deal which in no way reduces the risk of Iran developing nuclear weapons with which to wipe Israel off the map, the president said "It’s no secret the Prime Minister and I have had a strong disagreement on this narrow issue."

Of course, there are a few other little "narrow" issues where the two leaders don't quite see eye to eye. Like the creation of a Palestinian state within Israel's borders, labeling Israelis as "terrorists" for defending themselves against a recent wave of knife attacks on civilians, and Obama's agreement to help defend Iran in case any other country (we wonder who?) might attack their nuclear enrichment or weapons development facilities.

All of this considered, we're not exactly sure what areas the two leaders do agree on, other than the fact (grudgingly admitted by Obama) that the Holocaust actually occured.

Or "Holocaust One" as it may eventually be known.

Following racial protests which forced the resignation of Missouri University President Tim Wolfe and Chancellor R. Bowen Loftin, both of whom were just dripping with evil, irredeemable white privilege, the University Police are taking bold steps to restore order, get the black members of the football team to suit up again (really), and save the life of a valiant black grad student who went on a hunger strike for almost a week. Which, technically, is more of a diet than hunger strike.

Specifically, the University Police have issued a campus wide call for students to contact them immediately in case they are exposed, or even feel they are exposed, to "hateful or hurtful speech." The police are asking for descriptions, license plate numbers and, if possible, photographs of anyone suspected of saying something which is potentially hurtful.

While hurtful speech has not been specifically defined (indeed, it depends entirely on the "feelings" of the aggrieved party) it presumably will bring a halt to use of the n-word, words beginning with any other offensive eurocentric consonants, and professors giving "hurtful" grades or homework assignments. Tragically, the police crackdown also likely spells the end of "yo mama" jokes on campus, but you can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs.

These policies, and others like them, are part of a comprehensive effort to increase the diversity of  the faculty and staff of Missouri University which, unconscionably, consisted almost entirely of people who were not insane.

LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST...

It's a bit disorienting shifting gears from talking about mendacious politicians and aggrieved collegiate crybabies to trying - trying - to properly honor our nation's veterans on this very special day.

We're writing these words while taking a break between Presidential debates, and are keenly aware that the only reason we have good men and women on that stage talking about our nation's future is because of the great gifts our veterans have given us - the freedom and liberties which they continue to defend every day.

We humbly thank all who have served. You are the best of us.

  1. At the "FREE NORTH CAROLINA" web site, I read that the family of that hunger striker is worth twenty million dollars.

His father is an executive for the Union Pacific railroad.

  4. I keep hoping and praying that millions of my fellow veterans did not serve in vain. My uncles and father fought across the Pacific and Europe, I was fortunate enough to serve between Korea and Viet Nam but many of my peers were under the dubious leadership of that great micro manager Lyndon-The-Great-and-Wonderful. The disturbance at the MoUniversity is no more that political correctness run amuck. We must survive for another 363 days ... plus a couple of lame duck months. Here's a countdown clock to help pass away the time: http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/to?iso=20161108T07&p0=611&msg=Countdown+until+Obama+is+OUT+OF+OFFICE
I hope I have enough moonshine stashed to last ..............

  5. O'Liar refuses to attack ISIS and refuses to stand up to Iran, but is there any doubt he would bomb the living crap out of Israel at the slightest provocation? There is no doubt in my mind, should Israel finally decide to protect themselves from nuclear attack by blowing up Iran's enrichment facilities, the retaliation from O'Liar would be swift and brutal. I just pray we can make it past his (p)residency to elect a leader who isn't a radical Islam sympathizer.

Concerning the fiasco in Missouri, welcome to Orwell's 1984. The speech police are real.

And yes, many, many heartfelt thanks to those who put their lives on the line to protect me and my freedom! It is my fervent prayer that the PC progressive socialists like Obama do not destroy what came at such a dear cost.

  6. You gotta admire Netanyahu for maintaining his composure when in the presence of such a high ranking Muslim Jihadist. Oh....wait a minute.
Thank you vets for attempting to preserve our nation. Hopefully your sacrifice was not in vain.

  7. One thing that has crossed my feeble mind; how many in our military today would follow orders from Captain Bligh ... oops, I mean o'boner-the-clown to take up arms against Israel? I think we would have a full scale and justified mutiny......

  8. I may have shared the experience before. If so I apologize.

Some years ago I had the opportunity to go through a restored B-17. As I walked through the top turret to get from the cockpit to the bomb bay I stopped for a few minutes and looked out over the fuselage and wings of the plane. I had a sudden feeling of chills down my back as I pictured what those young boys, in their twenties, must have felt as they flew over Germany. As they saw the flak. As they heard and felt the shudder from bullets ripping through the plane skin. As they felt the cold, and saw their comrades blood flowing across the floor. At about that time a young Air Force fellow sarcastically made the comment, "What an antique! WE have real planes!"
I replied, "If it weren't for those PILOTS flying these antiques, YOU would likely never have had the chance to fly your modern computer controlled planes."
There also was an old fellow with a cap indicating his unit of the air corps he was in during WW II. He walked around that plane patting it every so often. When the pilot asked if he wanted help getting up into it he said, "No. I spent enough time in one, and saw enough people die in one years ago. I don't want to go back in again." Then he broke down and sobbed.
To him, and every other real hero that made my life today possible I say THANK YOU!

  9. "Hey, we need some muscle over here!"

That dumb academic noodle brain - clearly a Marxist provocateur - she could be much improved with the proper use of a wood chipper ("Fargo"). And I mean that - academia is nothing but zombie commies. And those students at Mizzou - and most likely the whole damn generation of millennials - a bunch of losers. Total zombies doing what other zombies tell them to do.

    Do zombies talk? Must.

My best regard to all veterans. You don't deserve what this country has become.

  10. Obama & Israel: One wonders why Bibi even bothered to meet with this guy, especially after news like this:

U.S. to Help Iran Rebuild Nuclear Reactor

"The United States and other global powers are helping Iran to update and reconstruct a nuclear reactor that has been suspected of helping the Islamic Republic produce enough material for a potential nuclear weapon, according to regional reports and statements from the State Department."

Speaking of Halocaust II: Check out the hip fashion to be found in Gaza. It's a shame they didn't have a shop in Merced for Faisal Mohammad. No doubt they stock ISIS flags as well for convenient one-stop shopping.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Speaking of Merced and Faisal Mohammad's "random act of American non-terrorist violence:

"The California college student who stabbed four people last week was carrying an image of the black flag of ISIS according to a report Tuesday, as well as a handwritten manifesto with instructions to behead a student and multiple reminders to pray to Allah, yet authorities continued to insist Faisal Mohammad's motives had nothing to do with radical Islam."

Again, no terrorism or Islam to see here. Move along everyone. Unless he's paid dues and is carrying a "member in good standing" card, it doesn't count as "terrorism", or even a "man caused disaster".

Missouri: So some dumbs*** racist drunk kid uses some unsavory language against some black kids, and it explodes into all this. The kid was immediately suspended, and will no doubt be expelled. But that's was not enough for the hate industrial complex.

So they got the scalps of the president and a chancellor over something that they had absolutely nothing to do with. Oh, and all new faculty, staff and students will have to waste a semester in "diversity training" before they can move on to their real jobs and education. So where's this "white privilege" I keep hearing about?

    And it continues:

"The University of Missouri's journalism school praised a student journalist Tuesday after he stood his ground and asserted his First Amendment right to take pictures of a campus protest, despite aggressive pushback from a mob of students and faculty members."

So the student journalist and the professor who stood behind him will have to go too.

Oh, and note that in the video, protesters called for "muscle" to eject journalists from the protest. I thought campuses today had a zero-tolerance attitude towards "bullying". Apparently, enforcement of that is selective as well, depending upon the race and cause of those involved.

So how is the UC Merced "incident" and what has transpired at Mizzou related? They are in the diametric handling of race and violence. At Merced, a kid with an agenda and actual hate arms himself and with purposeful thought and foresight and then physically attacks people, whereas at Mizzou some redneck gets drunk and starts spewing verbal diarrhea; nobody is sent to a hospital. In the wake of these events, at UC Merced, basically nothing happens whereas at Mizzou, all hell breaks loose and the status quo is upended. At UC Merced, Faisal Mohammad was ejected from a study group because he made other students feel "uncomfortable". At Mizzou, students are now encouraged to call the campus police should anyone say anything "hurtful". No doubt had students at UC Merced done that regarding Faisal Mohammad, they'd be called "racist" and flagged for "diversity training".

On one hand, it's not entirely unpleasant watching the Progressive academic left starting to get consumed by the runaway ideology of their own out-of-control progeny. But on the other hand, this does not portend well for peace and the well-being of America. The former supposed bastions of "free speech" have been converted into intolerant conformitoriums.

  12. Unrelated to the topic at hand, but relevant to last night's debate:

Since the Econ family doesn't subscribe to cable, we didn't get last night's debate on "Fox Business". (If fact, we didn't even get "Fox Business" back when we did have cable) So I'm just now reading through the aftermath.

One such statement was Jeb Bush's "Even having this conversation sends a powerful signal. They're doing high-fives in the Clinton campaign right now when they hear this. That's the problem with this.”

It's moments like this that I wish I could channel through people. My response? "Seriously Jeb? Is enforcing the law a problem for you? Because if it is, you're running for the wrong job."

No Jeb, if they're doing "high-fives" at the Clinton HQ, because your stance is indistinguishable from than theirs. You, the establishment GOP, and pretty much everyone else outside your rich donor class is not happy about the massive inflow of illegal immigrants with whom they must compete with for scarce jobs and who are overwhelming social services. Your position might make you more popular with La Raza and the illegal aliens than Trump, but those people aren't going to be voting for you anyway. You know who does find Trump's position attractive? Legal aliens who are allowed to vote, and have to live with the negative consequences of your & the Democrat's de-facto open-borders policy.

An aside to the GOP: A well-known characterization of the "millennial" generation is that they don't subscribe to or watch cable TV. They get most of their content on-line, so every time you guys schedule a debate on a cable pay channel, the largest demographic that you need to reach is deliberately excluded. Real dumb, GOP, and another major blunder by those high-paid consultants you rely on to tell you what to do and say. But then again, it explain so much why you are failing, and making Hillary the likely candidate to take office in 2017.

  14. Remember all those kids that used to whine and cry and call for mommy to tuck them in because, "there's a monster under my bed"?

Well, they all grew up and went to Mizzou and Yale.
