Many on the Left were devastated Wednesday when it turned out that the mass shooting in San Bernardino, California did not (as originally reported) happen at a Planned Parenthood clinic, nor was it perpetrated by "three white men."
Rather, the horrendous slaughter was committed by "devout Muslim" Syed Farook and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, who are believed to have been in communication with individuals under investigation for international terrorism. Additionally, the couple's home has been described by authorities as a virtual "IED factory" for producing bombs.
Even Barack Obama is having trouble calling this "workplace violence," as much as he desperately wants to. In the face of overwhelming evidence, he grudgingly admits that the shooters may have had "mixed" motives.
We can only speculate at this point, but it seems clear that this couple - and an unknown number of others - had spent considerable time preparing to commit a massacre. Had it not been this "workplace" party, it would likely have been a mall, a church, a school, or some other soft target.
Our thoughts go out to the victims and their families, and we hope (but don't expect) that this terrible incident can finally inspire serious policy discussions about radical Islamic terror within our borders.
Relax, America. Obama has a plan to stop moderate Muslim workplace violence. |
Don't forget the two "victims of gun violence" inside the SUV. They'll be used to pad the anti-gunner's statistics soon.
ReplyDeleteAnd the terrible part of this whole scenario is that there is a large number of other sleeper cells in our country. I think I read that there are as many as 1,500. That and the 30 odd training camps.......
ReplyDeleteI think Mayor Giuliani is on to something.
ReplyDeleteJust out of curiosity, was this another one of those "no guns allowed" zones?
ReplyDeleteYes, Sandra, this was indeed a 'gun free zone'. Cowards such as those don't want anyone shooting back.
ReplyDeleteIt's no surprise that officials are already contorting themselves into pretzels to avoid calling this terrorism. The couple in question reportedly had more than $30K in weapons and bombs in their home. California must pay their public servants very well....
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, Sen. Boxer-shorts (D-Ca.) (Can anybody refer to her as "Honorable" w/ a straight face?) says that if it weren't for California's "sensible" gun laws, the body count would have been much higher... All of the usual suspects are calling for more gun laws, as though more laws=less terrorism?
ReplyDeleteThe left is trying to make up any excuse not to call this terrorism. Now they say Farook may have been offended by the Christmas party he attended and then shot up. Evidently the assault rifles, 6000 rounds of ammo, and the bomb making factory were just his way of disagreeing with the holiday.
ReplyDeleteI also find it interesting that the authorities now are saying that this case is basically closed even though eyewitnesses swear that there was a third shooter. There is also evidence that the rifles used were actually purchased by law enforcement officers, and just accidentally ended up in the wrong hands which could indicate a false flag operation.
Nah, nothing to see here....move along.
Let the left keep talking all this nonsense; I hope it gets even more ridiculous. Their asses are showing already. We're within a year of an important election.
ReplyDeleteWe should be waking everyone up to hear this crap and know who's behind it, quietly convey the logical & sane counterpoints; and assure everyone who has sense and actually supports this nation will be registered and will vote next November.
There's not that many progressive nut-cakes out there; they HAVE to command attention. There's a lot who are dependent, frightened, bought off; don't really see what's happening, or see it but remaining quiet; thinking they can do nothing.
Many issues, many complications, a LOT of noise & misdirection; but it will all boil down to an election... then a housecleaning. THAT will be the tricky part.
I find it really sad and scary that the neighbors were so justifiably afraid of how Obama and his minions would pillory them for islamo-prejudice if they reported the suspicious activity going on at the terrorists' garage. So they decided to protect themselves by saying nothing to the authorities. Thanks, Obama, I guess your intimidation tactics are working real well to protect us.
ReplyDeleteGood morning. Yours is one of the few blogs I follow. A suggestion: instead referring to the sorts of things as happened in Colorado Springs and San Bernardino as "shootings" -- which emphasized the firearm -- refer to them as "attacks" or "murders", which emphasizes the intentional nature of the violence. Have a great day! CBI
ReplyDelete"...believed to have been in communication with individuals under investigation for international terrorism."
ReplyDeleteOK, so we have NSA spying on everyone's email and phone, and yet, somehow, they missed this? Is it because they focus on visitors to conservative websites?
Well, it did indeed push both the UnPlanned UnParenthood shooting AND the COP21 Climate Spoils Conference off the front page.
ReplyDeleteIn for former case, it may be off the front page but it's certainly not forgotten. It's provided a stark contrast between the official narrative of the left and reality; that "lone wolf white guys motivated by overexposure to the Confederate flag and right-wing media" are the big threat versus the open invasion taking place via the State Department.
That doesn't mean that they aren't desperately trying to stick to the narrative. This was actually said last night on the NBC Nightly News:
"Police describe the picture of a heavily armed group of attackers, two of them backed up by an arsenal of pipe bombs and thousands of rounds of ammo fully capable of launching a follow-on attack. And yet authorities without more evidence are still pointedly refusing to label it at terrorist attack of where the applications are so terribly profound."
Profound indeed. With this level of denial of reality, it's almost as though they want to stage a Trump presidency that in relative terms would seem to appear sane and coherent.
This just in:
"Tashfeen Malik pledged allegiance to the leader of ISIS just before she and her husband carried out the San Bernardino massacre, law enforcement sources told NBC News."
Is it "terrorism" yet Mr. President, or will you still be sticking with "workplace violence" today like you still do with Fort Hood?
Speaking of Tashfeen, it's interesting that we have yet to see a picture of her.
Another shattered narrative is the absurd notion that Islamic fanaticism is the result of poverty and "climate change". Syed Farook was on the gravy train with a secure, comfortable and undemanding government job as a health inspector, making well over $100,000 in salary and benefits. Tashfeen was a pharmacist. Was that not enough Marie Harf? What more could or should have America given him to prevent this?
@Mike aka Proof, sadly, you are probably right.
ReplyDelete@FlyBoy, I caught Sen. Boxer's presser yesterday. Unbelievably dumb, even by standards for her. She's not a good enough actor to sell that level of absurdity. Again, is she a sleeper campaigner for Trump too?
@Geoff King, By next year, I expect "Holiday Parties" to disappear in California as the Progressive response not to offend and provoke the Islamic Terrorist community.
What I do find interesting is that we have yet to learn exactly what transpired at that party that supposedly instigated the "workplace violence".
@Rod, I agree that the harder and longer the Democrats keep trying to sustain their "nothing to see here, move along" narrative virtually guarantees a GOP victory next year. It's already finished the "refugee" debate.
Oh, rank-and-file Democrats will continue to support the refugee issue, because doing anything other would be hate, racist, xenophobic, etc. But that's why we have "secret" ballots where they'll vote their true opinion.
@CBI, right. Brilliant.
@John Ortmann, I agree. For over a decade now, we've been told we need to all sacrifice our own privacy so that the national security apparatus can do its thing to keep us safe. And yet, even when literally hand-fed warnings about known troublemakers as they were with the Tsarnaev brothers, they literally ignore it. My guess is that the NSA has a better focus on everyone here than they had on Syed & Tashfeen.
I see this as a terrible tragedy because of the senseless death and injury AFTER the people who invited this camel-shagger and his wife into their midst and gave them a baby-shower for their future terrorist, let down their guard and allowed a koranic toady into a Christian event. mooselimism in a nutshell (apt allusion) is "conquer the infidel, convert the infidel or kill the infidel"... THAT'S IT!!!! mooselimism.
ReplyDeleteJohn the Econ,
I have it on good authority, (my fecund imagination), that the perps of this imbroglio were Smegma Jizzwan Fuhcue and his lovely goat Gashqueef Malignant! That MIGHT be extending a measure of respect they don't deserve, but accuracy is my M.O.
Meanwhile, lamont is still checking himself for colon polyps!
It’s pretty obvious Farook and his accomplice had been preparing for quite some time for their eventual, cowardly ambush on unarmed people. I’m guessing it took nothing more than someone wishing him a “Merry Christmas” or such to push him over the edge.
ReplyDeleteAnd Senator for Life Babs Boxer? Moonbats elect moonbats. Are the people of California who keep voting for her getting what they deserve? Maybe some of them, but there are plenty of smart, informed, conservative folks living there that are getting screwed and even killed because of self serving asswipes like her.
And, of course, O’Liar was on the “let’s take away people’s guns” bandwagon before the 14 dead bodies were even at room temperature. I don’t get it. Why isn’t he pushing to make it illegal to shoot people? Oh wait…..
It gets ever more difficult to describe the idiocy of BHObama. No simile can be used as it insults the person/thing we try to compare it to, such as "a box of hammers", "a bag of bricks", or "sh!+", all of which serve a useful purpose. I now feel it suffices to say that BHObama is as stupid or (fill in the blank) as BHObama. His conceit, arrogance and general uselessness is incomparable.
ReplyDeleteAn addendum to my previous post: We can now have new catch phrases. Instead of "That's just stupid", we can now say "That's just Obama". "What an idiot"="What an Obama"--"Fail!"="Obama!"--"Brain dead"="Obama".
ReplyDeleteBTW, feel free to substitute "Hillary" for "Obama".
You get the idea.
@Mike aka Proof- Sadly, I'm sure you're right.
ReplyDelete@Fred Ciampi- I'm not sure how anyone can accurately assess the number of sleeper cells out there, but I think it's safe to say it's not "none."
@Judi King- Rudy, bless him, as previously referred to Obama as a moron on these topics. From Trump, the word doesn't mean as much - from Rudy, it says a LOT.
@Sandra Gray- Yes, "no guns allowed." In view of the tragic failure, we clearly need stronger "no gun" decal regulations.
@FlyBoy- I wonder about their financing. Then again, there's very little downside to maxing out your credit cards if you're planning on going out in a blaze of glory.
As far as Barbara Boxer goes, I think this is the wrong time for her to cop a "glass half full" attitude about how peachy California's gun laws are working.
@Geoff King- I haven't heard that information about who originally purchased the guns. Can you share a link? I know the couple didn't personally purchase the guns - so someone has some answering to do.
And yes, lots of folks have tried to suggest that there was a reason behind the mayhem- inviting a devout Muslim to attend a "holiday" party. Only it now seems that the killers had been prepping for a long time. Nothing occurred at that party to trigger the nightmarish aftermath.
@Rod- I hope that our next election will kick off a housecleaning, but I just don't know. I sometimes think that the greater and more obvious the threat from radical Islamic terror, the more the Left will push to acquiesce. Personally, I've always felt that Barry benefitted from our nation's post-9/11 fears when he was originally elected. Fearful Americans thought that electing a "sorta kinda" Muslim-ish guy would calm our enemies (and Obama suggested as much).
And now, rather than hearing any "get tough" rhetoric from my acquaintances on the Left, I'm hearing more demands that we disarm potential Muslim terrorists by letting them know how much we love them and their faith. The Left has embraced a self-imposed Stockholm Syndrome of extreme cowardice and nascent anti-Americanism, and I worry about what they'll do at the polls.
@Anonymous- The government tells us "if you see something, say something." Then they rip apart the police officers who questioned Ahmed the clockboy, and now Loretta Lynch is threatening to prosecute people who say negative things about Islam. In this atmosphere, who's going to take the risk of reporting suspicious activity?
@CBI- That's an excellent suggestion and I'll try to remember to follow up on it. Thanks!
@John Ortmann- As I understand it, the NSA (or whomever) closed their investigations of the alleged international terrorists, and Farook made contact with those people after the books were closed. Which raises the question, why the Farook WERE the books closed?! Meanwhile, I'm pretty sure the intelligence agencies are doing a lovely job of monitoring the comings and goings on my humble comic page.
@John the Econ- It seems like letting Tashfeen Malik into our country was a whopper of a mistake which seriously calls into question the efficacy of our vetting programs.
ReplyDeleteAnd as you point out, this wretched couple was neither hurting for money nor socially ostracized for their beliefs (coworkers gave baby shower gifts to Farook). They killed because they wanted to; not because they didn't have enough of what America has to offer, but because they hated everything America is.
As far as our intelligence agencies looking the other way even when they have disturbing information (like the Tsarnaev brothers), let's not forget the many, many people who knew Ft. Hood killer Nidal Hasan was a ticking time bomb but were afraid to go up the chain of command to say so because it wouldn't be "politically correct." If political correctness trumps acting on intelligence, why do we even bother?!
@Bruce Bleu- Ours is a far more accepting and tolerant country for people of all faiths than anywhere else on Earth. But ironically, it is that very tolerance which radical Islamics want to kill us for.
@Colby Muenster- I don't think anything which happened at that party pushed Farook over the edge; he and his wife had already made their preparations and wiped their digital footprints long before the party. Did he have special animosity towards any of his coworkers? Perhaps - but that only helped him decide which "soft target" to pick.
@NVRick- I wish I thought Obama was stupid. But no, he's something darker and more sinister than that. He wants this country to be demoted in status, our wealth spread to the world, and our culture destroyed. I think his main objection to radical Islamic terror in our nation is that, even though it largely aligns with his agenda, it's too obvious and lacks the subtlety he prefers.
Unquestionably, he's done far more damage to our country than ISIS has - or probably every will.
Re Barbara Boxer: Considering how decades of her gun legislation have utterly failed, you'd think she'd resign in shame. Instead, she simply insists on more of the same.
ReplyDeleteThe "Stockholm Syndrome Left" has always been a lost cause. But the "undecideds" in the middle had a big wake-up call this week, watching the sustained level of denial of evil that the left has embraced.
"If you see something, say something": Look what it got the educators and police in Austin; a $15-million dollar lawsuit from clock-boy's dad. Of course, if it ever goes to court, it will get tossed. But that isn't the point. The process is the punishment. How many of you have the spare 6-figures it would take to defend such such a lawsuit? The safe thing is the shut up, like Syed's neighbors did.
(Of course, a "loser pays" law like they have in other countries would put an end to that kind of silliness and punishment. But since the Democrats are owned by the legal profession, that will never happen)
"If political correctness trumps acting on intelligence, why do we even bother?!"
That's my point. I'd probably be more tolerant of having my civil rights eroded if I was actually getting something in return. But the fact is that we're obviously not. If they're going to ignore the obvious threats like the Hasan's, Tsarnaev's and Farook's, then I see absolutely no reason why they should be entitled to scan the rest of us.
Speaking of "Political Correctness": What is Attorney General Loretta Lynch most concerned about right now?
"U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch is assuring Muslims of her support, threatening action against any “anti-Muslim rhetoric” that “edges toward violence.”"
And just what does "edges toward violence" mean? Pretty much anything she thinks does.
Oh, and if you're one of those civic-minded people thinking about "If you see something, say something", it's just not a civil lawsuit from Amhed's dad you have to worry about:
"Lynch, speaking at a dinner held by the Muslim Advocates, a national legal advocacy group, announced Thursday night the Justice Department will investigate the police department in Texas that arrested a 14-year-old Muslim boy who brought a device that looked like a bomb to school. Ahmed “Clock Boy” Mohamed was never charged, but several congressmen asked Lynch for the civil-rights investigation she promised Thursday."
Even if you can afford to defend yourself against Ahmed's dad, I doubt there's any of you who could afford to stand up to the unlimited resources available to Loretta Lynch-job.
Again, it's safer just to shut up.
You deserve a Pulitzer. Thomas Nast would be jealous of your work
ReplyDelete@Stilton: here is the link pertaining to the gun possibly being originally a police weapon. Carly Fiorina speaks about it around the 5 minute mark of the MSNBC video included in the link:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.infowars.com/fiorina-san-bernardino-shooters-gun-bought-for-police/
It is illegal by California law to transfer ownership of an assault weapon, so how did the loonies get these rifles?
"And now, for something COMPLETELY different"
ReplyDeleteAs I expect most of us can use a good chuckle at this point in the week, and I literally had tears in my eyes...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwOH3YsraNs
I have a recommendation for Barack Hussein and Loretta Lynch: if you don't want to see Muslims attacked or profiled, tell the Muslim communities across America to POLICE THEIR OWN COMMUNITIES!! Turn in the terrorists whom you KNOW are planning something! If you don't, after a while, you will deserve what you get!
ReplyDeleteSo @Stilton, doing tomorrow's cartoon before or after the President's speech tonight?
ReplyDelete@John the Econ- You know me way too well! I actually did both: wrote cartoon and commentary before the speech (making my predictions), then did a follow up afterwards to fact check my accuracy. I'd say I nailed most of it, but Barry surprised me by actually changing his tune on a few items. Mind you, I don't believe for a nanosecond that he's changed his THOUGHTS - only his rhetoric.
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch the speeeechhhh. I have an eye doctor appointment Tuesday and I don't think the effects of the bleach would have worn off by then. Besides, I will have all the information tomorrow morning at H&C. Have a good evening........ Zzzzzzzfartsnooze.
