McAuliffe said that the 150 year old law which he unilaterally rescinded was originally put in place to suppress the rights of black voters, suggesting that he thinks the words "black" and "felon" are entirely interchangeable. Which, sadly and statistically, is pretty much the case here.
He also suggests that if the GOP is unhappy about this new voting bloc (or cellbloc), they need to "quit complaining and earn ex-felon's votes," perhaps by adopting Hillary's inspiring proposals to get tough on cops, empty the prisons, and send convicted criminals to all-expense-paid colleges where they can use whomever's bathrooms - or showers - they feel like.
Then again, perhaps in the heat of this tortuous election cycle Hope n' Change is being too cynical. After all, it's not like Governor McAuliffe has any suspicious political ties to Hillary Clinton.
Well, other than being her Presidential campaign manager in 2008...

"quit complaining and earn ex-felon's votes"
ReplyDeleteI think republicans already earn enough for their fair share for felons and they kinda fail to show their gratitude. I mean it wasn't the demonRats money that kept them from starving to death while incarcerated or their families.
And they are not planning on pulling jobs..... ahhh....I mean....ahh..working jobs given to them by demonRats business owners. (at least not legal ones)
To show his heart is in the right place I think all these new demonRats....ahh..... new voter ought to vote in a single polling place say in Alexandria VA so they they can tour the sites of dee cee while they are there? Appreciate some of the sites associated with this great country.
I also think that it's noteworthy that he doesn't believe there were any whites in detention facilities in the last 150 years- I suggest he be one of the first.
One of the lecture I received on military justice warned a conviction could lose us our right to vote and they never even mentioned that only applied to minorities. And here I wasted all that time trying not to get caught- if had only known.
Let's see ... 206,000 felons get to vote Democrat, round up to the nearest ... oh, they will cast 1,000,000 votes for Hillary this fall!
ReplyDeleteAll I'm going to say is that it seems to be a bit of a conflict of interest and leave it there..... Because I live in the mountains of Virginia and if I say what I feel should be said Gubboner McDummy will have his goons seek me out and hurt me. So there. Besides, I need to make a comment so that I can get all of the other comments in my email thingy.
ReplyDeleteI watched McAuliffe on The News Hour the other night. He kept talking about how we need to bring these felons back into society, because, after all, they had "paid their debt to society". It seems to me that if the crime committed has no statute of limitations, then said perpetrators should never have their "rights" restored. Even if the crime has a statute of limitations, the sentence includes jail time AND loss of rights. Finishing the jail time part does not, by itself, pay one's "debt to society".
ReplyDeleteAll the elected criminals in D.C. get to vote, so why not in Virginia as well?
ReplyDelete@Fred Ciampi - I live in the Shenandoah Valley and I'm not terribly worried about this carpet-bagging son of a bitch sending anyone to my door. He's a useless piece of trash. He should go back to Syracuse, NY and leave us the hell alone. Thank goodness we have a one-term limit for governor here in the Commonwealth. Been thinking we should amend the state constitution to prohibit all except native Virginians from getting to the governors mansion.
ReplyDeleteEach time there is a new President the military has to make a transition. That transition is smooth when the incoming President agrees with the former President. This time there'll be a dustup of biblical proportions, C.B. DeMille would be jealous, so immense that the occasional dust clouds in Phoenix seem like child's play. There will be a mass exodus of the buttheads currently in D.C.. Maybe they'll see 'refugee' status.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why so many criminals are being released in the first place. Of course they'll vote for Hilliery, she's one of them (or should be). She can relate to their poor plight of being forced to commit crimes. ..... NOT. We are so doomed.
ReplyDeleteJim Irre, I agree with you 100%. I'm a Virginian by choice and I do love it here. I'm retired and don't want to spend my remaining years under a demonic administration. At least our representative seems to be on our side. Semper Fi.
ReplyDeleteDon't publish this, but the word "courtesy" in the third panel needs to be corrected. I'd hate to see libs making fun of this fun cartoon.
ReplyDeleteAnd the left's War on the Middle Class continues. Just the latest example of how they will stop at nothing to dilute your vote into irrelevance. It's this kind of crap that until recently has fueled Trump.
ReplyDeleteFor decades, I've argued that the right should proudly allow the left to own the gutter and let the Democrats be the party of criminals. Unfortunately, I underestimated their ability to drag the rest of the country into the gutter with them. A year from now, this country might actually be led by a criminal.
@Boligat, the left has a problem confusing "debt to society" with "the consequences of one's actions". One's "debt to society" is what a court imposes on an individual for their actions. The "consequences" are what one has to live with for the rest of their lives. The left honestly thinks they can simply wipe away "consequences", which is impossible.
If he's going to restore felons' right to vote, how about also giving them back the right to keep and bear arms?
ReplyDeleteAfter all, a pretty good argument could be made that it's less harmful to society to shoot the wrong person than to elect the wrong person...
@REM1875- I didn't mention it in the commentary, but today is the first day of the Justice Department's "National Reentry Week," in which they're pushing measures to make it easier for felons to reenter productive society. Which these days is mostly non-productive, but you know what I mean. First up: helping the ex-cons get state ID's without the burden of providing birth certificates or social security numbers. D'oh!
ReplyDeleteLibs are missing the point of permanent consequences for bad behavior: to discourage bad behavior.
@Cat Whisperer- It's only fair they get multiple votes since they were out of the system so long.
@Fred Ciampi- Wait, you get comments in an email thingy if you leave a comment? Even I don't know how that works. Does this have something to do with my private server? (grin)
@Boligat- I agree to an extent that we should want to reintegrate the genuinely reformed if possible. But I'm quite comfortable with never restoring their right to vote. The "pro-choice" Left should acknowledge and respect the choice these people made to be anti-social before granting them society's greatest privilege.
@Geoff King- You make a good and terribly depressing point.
@Jim Irre- McAuliffe just oozes the worst kind of Democrat unctuousness and sleaze. Always has. Which is why it's unsurprising that he used to be head of the DNC and has always been tight with the Clintons.
@Anonymous- Your prediction will be true in case of a Cruz presidency, possibly true for a Trump presidency, not true for a Hillary presidency, and if Bernie wins the military will be disbanded entirely.
@Judi King- It's appalling to me that pandering to black voters means pandering to criminals by pushing open door prison policies. How that's not racist profiling is beyond me.
@the Tunnel Dweller- I'll let your comment stand because I want to thank you for calling the typo to my attention (and now I've fixed it). Perhaps I was just feeling testy when I wrote "courtesty."
@John the Econ- I'm trying not to think about the huge influx of morons and criminals determining the outcome of elections.
And you're exactly right about the Left trying to eliminate "consequences" from actions. That's pretty much their stand no matter what the issue is.
@CenTexTim- You make a great point. Why trust them with a vote if they can't be trusted with a gun?
Speaking of Hillary: For at least a year now, I've been arguing that the difference between Hillary and Bernie is that with another Clinton Administration, Hillary would be more than willing to do a 3-way with the Koch Brothers if the price was right. And negotiations may soon be underway:
ReplyDelete"Oil tycoon and conservative mega-donor Charles Koch had kind words for both Bill and Hillary Clinton in an interview Sunday, saying there was an outside chance he could support her in November."
Of course, publicly Hillary says "no way" to the left's chief boogeymen:
"Not interested in endorsements from people who deny climate science and try to make it harder for people to vote," she tweeted.
Which of course, means "Let's talk", since we well know that the Clintons will do anything for "support" and anything Hillary says is a likely a lie.
Virginny went blue in '08 and '12, so adding more blue to the mix? Meh.
ReplyDeleteTo stop this silly male bovine defecation, I propose Virginia through GOV. McDingleberry's Executive Authority release ALL of the felons on society. Give them a map to their liberator's domicile so they can thank him, in a most personal manner. Hasn't America become greater, or what?
ReplyDeleteWhen Hillary becomes Prez we should rename the White House as "The Big House".
ReplyDeleteIn the news: "Growing number of celebrities vowing to move to Canada if Trump is elected." I'm not a big Trump fan (at least not yet in this disgusting process); but a sensible response is "So what? Might we be hearing less from you then?
ReplyDelete@Rod, I'm still waiting for the last batch of celebrities who swore to leave after GWB was re-elected in '08 to go.
ReplyDeleteThe upside of Gov. McAwful's unilateral change to Virginia's laws (while the legislature was not in session) is that Mike Tyson can now come to Virginia to vote for Trump!
ReplyDeleteVirginia is still a southern state but because of the population centers in Northern VA, along the Potomac to be precise, and VA Beach, the state is starting to look like Illinois when it comes to elections. Illinois with manners, but Illinois.
