...but not for sure. |
Happily, we're not as pessimistic as we used to be either, owing to it being a near certainty (at the time of this writing) that Donald Trump will have beaten Hillary, and will become President with a GOP majority Senate and House. Which means that Obama's "legacy" can go into the woodchipper beginning with Trump's first day in office!
Analysts have not yet determined how this major upset happened, although we'd like to think that we helped a little by having actively distributed a Wikileaks story about Hillary that may not have been entirely accurate...
We'll soon have a LOT to say about this election and what it means for our future, but for now we're calling it a night (just like Hillary's campaign director, John Podesta, did when he told all of her supporters to go home and not wait for any announcements from her - no doubt because she's in a towering rage and can't get her eyeballs to align).
We don't want to jinx anything by absolutely declaring Trump the winner yet - but we will say that we're currently experiencing more hope for change than anything we've felt in the past 8 years.
UPDATE: TRUMP WINS! HILLARY LOSES! OBAMA'S LEGACY? HA HA HA HA HA!
In honor of National Schadenfreude Day...
I really am going to enjoy saying PRESIDENT TRUMP!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat acceptance speech. VERY Presidential....President Trump. Fantastic!!!
ReplyDeleteI could barely watch. I was sure Trump had huge support, polls notwithstanding, but there was so much cheating going on that I thought the victory would be stolen. I'd love to know what the numbers would have been once adjusted for all false votes.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Sandra. I couldn't be happier; I just hope he'll get the cooperation he needs to correct course.
I thought Crooked Clinton was waiting for the check to clear before speaking. In the words of our favorite Cajun, Serpenhead, Please God let this be the end of Clintons and Bushs. After listening to Trump extol the hard work of the evil one, I was waiting on lightning to wipe him out because it gave me pause whether or not he is going to throw her wide butt in jail as he said he would. Then, I wonder how many of those never Trump folks that are leaving the country have their bags packed. (I did read where the Canadian Immigration web site crashed). Anyways, I hope ya'll had as much fun as I did watching the talking heads squirm, turn pale and looked like they wanted to barf.
ReplyDeleteI think CNN, NBC and MSLSD say it still way too close to call but looks like a landslide for sHrillary and the DemonRats.
ReplyDeleteThen suddenly CNN started non-stop reporting on the missing Malaysian aircraft and MSLSD went to all night long polka music.
Unsure what this all means.
However the majority of other unreliable sources report that they may be slightly exaggerating the numbers since those are the the ones joshing in earnest was supposed to report before failing to show at the podium. The one the white hut gave him last week to report tonite.
In a totally unrelated story a top programmer on loan from g. soros to the just-us dept was seen boarding a plane to Bogotá, Columbia.
There was a brown out in parts of dee cee following what appears an extremely large amount of shredders sudden spontaneously starting - probably some sort of computer glitch.
Well lets hope the morning continues bringing good news and that the SON will shine once again
While it still may be to close to call the clear loser last night was the mainstream media and minions.
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine how all those Clinton (crime) Foundation donors feel now about the cost of those favors and influence that they WON'T be getting from President Hildabeast? Doesn't it just break your heart?.....
ReplyDeleteThis was a case where crime DID pay, and was very dearly paid indeed!
ReplyDeleteTrump's gracious acceptance speech was elegant, inclusive, and very open to all Americans. Donald will do well. I agree, it would be wonderful to know the final REAL tallies because you know there is no chance that creature could muster that much without a lot of cheating.
I love that Donald, er, President Elect Trump, has never bowed down and won this with throwing everything out to the wind. And we also owe Julian Assange a great thank you. I hope Trump pardons him, at the very least.
At 68 I watched the coup / assassination of JFK. No one came along to pull things together after that. Reagan never captivated me much at all because I saw the similarities between him and Maggie and knew he was not the one.
This feeling of hope, optimism, is rare and, as a fan of The Walking Dead, I know hope only exists to be destroyed by yet a darker threat of one sort or another. Hope is usually a precursor of something going terribly amiss.
Hope is well worth the risk because we really do have nothing to lose at this point.
Okay. Did I call that wrong or what? My humblest apologies to any who I might have convinced that Hillary was inevitable. America is clearly more pissed off than even I imagined, and still retains some ability to demonstrate it.
ReplyDeleteI'm still sticking to my opinion that America chose a Democrat over a fascist. Time will tell if I'm right or wrong on that one as well.
Speaking of pissed off fascits, can you imagine what Hillary's hotel suite must look like right now? I bet it rivals the aftermath of a stay by any number of coke-addled '70s rock bands during their prime.
Also speaking of pissed off, how about all those billionaires who've been shoveling cash to the Clintons for the last dozen years who now only have memories of lame 20-minute speeches to show for their investment? Ouch!
But the biggest loser of the evening has to be the mainstream media. Best quote on that I've seen comes from some guy named Dave Rubin:
"Media which got everything wrong will now tell you all the things that will happen as a result of the thing they said wouldn't happen."
The MSM went all-in for Hillary, and they lost. So not only were they wrong, but they realize how ineffective they were. And now they're going to pretend they're still credible. Is already both funny and sad to watch.
I gotta get some sleep now as I need to be up early in anticipation of some opertunistic chaos on Wall Street. Like myself, Wall Street assumed a Hillary victory and is likely to throw a bit of a temperor tantrum. Futures are down about 2%, which means that America is going to be great again, it's currently on sale!
Seen on CNN website:-
ReplyDelete"Scarcely believing the way their night had turned out, Clinton fans face the prospect of four years of a President they see as divisive, intolerant and damaging to the country."
Well, they have had 8 years of Obungler, so they should know what that looks like.
BTW Have Whoopi Goldberg et al started packing for Canada yet?
Last night I went to bed at 7, poll closing, this morning I blamed my early bedtime to election fatigue, my wife blamed it on the 1/2 bottle of Wild Turkey.
ReplyDeleteWhatever the reason, with this mornings news, turns out it was the best sleep of the past 8 years.
I am so excited that we have elected President Trump! The mainstream media and the NeverTrumpers were so wrong! Finally after 8 long years, I have real hope for the future of the country.
ReplyDeleteWell, it appears that everything and everyone I voted for or against here in Arizona went the opposite way. No recreational Marijuana, yes to increased minimum wage, and John McCain won yet another term as our senator who only shows up when he wants our votes and otherwise does absolutely nothing for our state.
ReplyDeleteAt least Gary Johnson had a good enough showing to hopefully make the Libertarian Party a viable force in future elections, and with Trump as president we have possibly avoided WWIII with Russia.
I will withhold any praise of him until I see if he actually makes any positive difference in our country's direction, or at least brings justice down on the Clinton Crime Syndicate before Chelsea runs for office.
God bless America and Donald Trump!!
ReplyDelete@msm...you can kiss our arse!
Are you changing the name of blog now? Maybe "Hope for Change". "Trump 2016" is in the alive and well.
ReplyDeleteIt remains to be seen how much of the rancid scum can actually be cleaned out of the Potomac cesspool. The sleaze and corruption didn't happen overnight, more like over a century, but it's a start. After eight long, long years of a lawless and dictatorial executive I feel as if I have awakened without my hair shirt on. It seems the Supreme Court won't end up utterly compromised. I don't hold out much hope at this point for a meaningful shrinkage of the federal beast, but maybe we can staunch the flow of jihadis. At lease we have a chance now, if we can get the mossbacks in the Congress to get on board. If Ma Barker had won I truly believe the next stop for us was the being the new Venezuela.
ReplyDeleteThe REAL loser in all of this is the Media....Think about it: for the last eight years, they've been carrying the Kool-Aid for Barry and the libs. Now, they're actually gonna' have to do their jobs again, and for that, they're shi**ing their pants.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless America again. We did it!!!!! Thanks to all. Now we can go forward with the rebuilding of our great country.
ReplyDeleteThank you 'Hope'N Change' for your part in putting up a road block to left wing lunacy run amok. Three times a week I eagerly open my e-mail to read your insanely funny exposures of the insanity in D.C. Do not underestimate the role you played in this. You have a huuuuge following and you put complex issues into a simple easy to digest format.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work!
Ok, so from here on out, whither Hope 'n Change?
ReplyDeleteI trust Hope'N Change will keep an eye on the Donald. I know I will.
ReplyDeleteStilton, I too, went to bed before the results were finalized, when Trump was sitting at 254 E-votes. A camera went to the shrillary headquarters (what Willie used to pay for... well) and caught the harridan drafting the suicide letter of her campaign manager.
ReplyDeleteI can't WAIT for the phone calls to "U-Haul" for all the actors who will be moving to Canada!!!!! Bye Whoopie, See Ya DeCrapio... sayonara Cyrus, don't let the border hit you in your corpulent caboose Lena Dumbass, Cher... oh, wait... Jupiter is NOT in Canada.
Well, at least I won't have to listen to talk about Trump and the Frump anymore!
I am mostly grateful that the robo-calls will now stop (of course those were for local elections, but still...) I am also hoping all those madly insane actors who said they'd leave the USA if Trump were elected will definitely get out of our great nation. Watching the liberal media squirm and stutter was soooooo worth watching! First thing I did this morning was turn on the news just to be sure Trump had really won (I'm not so young as to stay up too late, either). It was a pleasant surprise. I hope Trump can choose a seriously decent and truly patriotic cabinet who really can make America great again.
ReplyDeleteI got up this morning to do chores and for some reason I walked a little taller, had a little more spring in my step, and as I watched the sky in the east begin to brighten and the heard birds begin to sing, heard the nicker of the horses as I got their morning grain, I couldn't help but smile and think that barring any tragedy America is also waking up to a brighter day.
ReplyDeleteI've a whole new attitude. Having become a bit grubby with being busy with lot of things in the last few days, I even shaved in the evening for the election watch.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweep!
It was calm, gracious, inclusive & forward looking speech to start for our new President; and (so far)blessed silence from the harpy. Also a nice start on Obama's well-deserved legacy. The first item on my To Do list for today was "Regroup". It was referring to paperwork, filing & chores; but regroup indeed. >>> Thank you all for your not-to-be-ignored efforts in helping stop this decline. This still won't be easy but I think we've started a needed turn-around.
I am enjoying a nice, hot mug of liberal tears with a helping of steaming schadenfreude.
ReplyDeleteWe can call 11/08/16 "Independence Day 2.0", yes?
A republic, and we're keeping it.
Stilton, I know you are an atheist, but I would like to think God is alive and well, and He does answer prayers. President-elect Trump has to come through for the nation. He must appoint men and women of integrity and ethics to his cabinet, whose greatest interest is this nation, not their bank account. No more "unconstitutional czars" or 3rd Deputy Secretary for the 2nd Undersecretary of the First Ladies wardrobe. Pass on the $124,000 a year dog walker. We don't need or want an imperial presidency. The tax code needs to be simplified. Only the Department of Defense has more employees than the IRS. Justices and judges should be knowledgeable in the laws and rule accordingly, not using the bench to advance their personal politics or views. And, The White House belongs to "WE THE PEOPLE." You are only a guest. A lot of great Presidents and First Ladies lived there. Do their memories honor by not using it as a lounge for interns. Make us proud to be Americans again. I, Dave Neumann, a nation of one, has given you your marching orders.
ReplyDelete@Readers- I'm going to have a lot more to say later, but just wanted to get into the mix here. I actually did end up glued to the TV until Trump's win was official, but was too exhausted to update things here on the site.
ReplyDeleteI am jubilant today and, yes, enjoying schadenfreude on an unprecedented level. I've been so focused on the importance of beating Hillary that I never really stopped to consider the reality that a President Trump and a GOP House/Senate means that Obama's "legacy" will almost immediately start going into a woodchipper.
It's so great reading all of your posts and comments; we've been through a lot together and this community of support, wisdom, and humor has meant more to me than I can say.
As I said, I'll have much more to say soon. For now, I'm running to the TV to watch Hillary's concession speech. And were sweeter words ever spoken?
I know this is going to sound like monday morning quarterbacking, but when the evil one cancelled her fireworks a day or so ahead of the election, I say to meself, "WHAT? WHY? Is it possible?" Nawwwwww, but it gave me a glimmer of hope. Now for the very first time, I'll listen to more than a minute of the evil one and gloat. Then, when PRESIDENT ELECT Trump goes to the WH on Thursday, I hope he ask for a ham sandwich.
ReplyDeletehttps://westernrifleshooters.files.wordpress.com/2016/11/screen-shot-2016-11-09-at-9-47-22-am.png?w=500&h=396
ReplyDeleteHilarity treated her own sheeples like a basket of deplorables by refusing to meet them face to face, yet conceded within 30 minutes.
I just finished watching the crocodile in purple shed no tears. Good bye. Good riddance. I only wish we had seen the last of her.
ReplyDeleteEarlier, I flipped a few a channels over at the msm. What fun! Puppy dog sad faces and all.
They talked about everything except their own self-destruction by becoming the story instead of just reporting it. It gives me the sweet goosebumps! A pox on them in their crotchetal regions.
Obama's "legacy" will almost immediately start going into a woodchipper.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is it's EOs and EAs out the wahoo between now and 1/20/17. He has no reason to pretend for the next couple of months. How much damage can he do. Either that or golfing in Hawaii, which is the choice I hope he makes.
running to the TV to watch Hillary's concession speech. And were sweeter words ever spoken?
I kinda want to listen. I also kinda want to never hear her speak again. Maybe I'll read a transcrip.
"I am jubilant today and, yes, enjoying schadenfreude on an unprecedented level. I've been so focused on the importance of beating Hillary that I never really stopped to consider the reality that a President Trump and a GOP House/Senate means that Obama's "legacy" will almost immediately start going into a woodchipper."
ReplyDeleteWe can only hope. But now that Trump has to be "presidential", it remains to be seen what he will actually do. On the near certain upside, I think we can shelve our mutual fear of things like the Value Added Tax and Imputed Income Taxes for at least a few more years. I no longer think I'll be retiring before my 60s like I fully expected to under a Hillary regime. My biggest hope is that he's serious about "cleaning out the swamp" of the Federal bureaucracy. That will make business feel free to start making long term plans and investment again. That right there is what will really start to restore our economy. Bernie's kids might learn to love capitalism if they actually get to participate in it for the first time in their lives.
@Sortahwitte, if you really want to see some "sad puppy faces", take a look at what was supposed to be Hillary's victory party.
I still can't believe it! I couldn't turn the TV off & watched 5 stations, back & forth...& listened to most of Trump's speech, which was pretty good.
ReplyDeleteI guess that "basket of deplorables" was a lot BIGGER than the unindicted-felon, her rapist husband, the media & all their supporters thought.
Dick Morris the Econ,
ReplyDeleteBecause of your constant contributions and usual correctness, you are FORGIVEN! (Just don't let it happen again.)
Told you so! Clinton wouldn't win. Yes I did, months ago - look it up.
ReplyDeleteNow comes President-elect Trump's Herculean task of cleaning out the Augean Stables that is Washington DC of all the 'liberal' deadbeats who are holding back your country.
9 November & overnight: Trump wins. On 10 Nov Hillary is the most kind, gracious and patriotic person that ever ran for and lost the Presidency. Oh poor her; she almost broke the glass ceiling but fell a little short; and no one knows how. Networks are full today of "What happened" and "How did Trump win" and "How did Hillary lose" like it's some big mystery.
ReplyDeleteNothing has changed about the collusion with the media. HEY FOLKS! IT HAD A LOT TO DO WITH ALL THAT HAS BEEN EXPOSED IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS.
She won't be President. That's good; but we should not be wondering what's she going to do now. Hopefully she will be defending herself against charges and spending even more of other peoples' and other governments' money trying to stay out of prison. Press still seems complicit; they're hoping we will forget all that and just move on. We need high visibility justice for many co-conspirators to discourage others from trying such criminal activity.
OK I'm off a day on the dates. I'm not drinking yet; just a little giddy over this election. LOL! The dang time change gives me even more trouble.
ReplyDeleteDay after elections- 1700- Central time- that is 6 bells for you sailors, 5 in the afternoon for you Air Force people and other civilians and for you Army Vets Mickey's big hand is on the 12 and his little hand is on the 5, and the Media is still having trouble accepting the election results.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if they have all called it yet.
I am trying to be kind and respectful and compassionate to all those who lost last night. The treat them with dignity and respect and not gloat- because they are unbalanced and could kill me.
The American people - 1
ReplyDeleteEntire liberal power structure - 0
Thank you, thank you thank you. The thought of that vile shrew and her scumbag "husband" back in our White House was literally making me sick to my stomach. Despite having the aforementioned power structure, plus Hollywood, plus the biased media, plus academia and the elites of the opposition party pushing her, the American people won. I've come to realize that Donald was the only one who could beat her. He was the only one who was not afraid to take them on full steam. Any of the others, including Cruz, wouldn't have had the guts to keep going in the face of that steamroller. And he doesn't owe a single soul in Washington DC. I am a happy clam today.
I think the dems did a lot of voter fraud and cheating this year, despite Trump's win. I just hope that the dems never realize that stuffing the ballot boxes in NY, Mass., and Calif. don't really help their electoral vote totals.
ReplyDeleteAs for President Elect Trump, as for an early Presidential action, please stop federal monies from going to "sanctuary" cities, municipalities.
ReplyDeleteThank God!!!! Literally.
The news today is still depressing. The media just does not get it. They are still slanting it just like before we voted. Duh!!! Now that it is over, I may just stop reading anything except Fox and Breitbart.
I am wondering how Trump is going to clean up the swamp. The long timers up there have voted themselves so many perks and advantages that we don't have, it will be a miracle if he can get them to vote to give it up. Term limits is a good start though.
I wonder what G Soros is going to do now that he can't pull the strings with his money. I love that part!
Sorry for all the rambling, I stayed up to late last night and can't put a good thought together, but I sure enjoyed reading all of your comments. Sleep well!
This might be approprate:
ReplyDeleteIsoroku Yamamoto: I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.
@REM1875 Re: the joke about telling time. HAHAHAHA I first heard that one where the marines were the butt of the joke. Of course, being an army vet myself, it was only fitting to razz the jarheads.
ReplyDeleteTO EVERYONE ELSE: As far as immediate changes to, well, everything, I wouldn't get my hopes up. Keep in mind who the senate majority leader and house speaker are. They wouldn't even try before. Now, if the new republican membership kicks Ryan and McConnell out of office, THEN you can get your hopes up.
BTW, Blunt won here in Missouri, but he really needs to go away. Maybe this will be his last term, I hope. Same with Billy Long, my representative. Both of them are from SW MO and both need to be primaried. Pay close attention to your senators and reps for this upcoming term. If they don't cooperate, start working on getting them all primaried.
The job isn't done yet.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete@Boligat: The job isn't done yet. Indeed. In my home state of Nebraska things need changed. On the bright side, 2nd District (Greater Omaha) 1-term D Brad Ashford lost to GOP challenger Don Bacon, a retired AF one-star. In my home 3rd district (deep red western 2/3s of the state) 5-termer R Adrian Smith ran unopposed, while in the first district R Jeff Fortenberry got his seventh term. Conservative Review rates these guys at 52% and 41%, respectively. They need primaried and replaced. Meanwhile, R Sen. Deb Fischer rode in as a Tea Party heroine in 2012 and has racked up a 55% CR rating, besides being nearly invisible in the Senate. She needs to go. No word from or sign of Sen. Ben Sasse (CR 94%), who first called the election a "dumpster fire". No idea whom he voted for.
ReplyDeleteSasse has been heard from. Sounds pretty good:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.omaha.com/news/nebraska/u-s-sen-ben-sasse-a-trump-critic-congratulates-president/article_2835e804-a686-11e6-a68d-a7bcecaeb1bd.html
I didn't vote for Trump but thanked God he won. A Clinton presidency would have put the final nail in the coffin. So now we have a reprieve and I hope Trump does all the things he promised he'd do.
ReplyDelete@Rod,
ReplyDelete"9 November & overnight: Trump wins. On 10 Nov Hillary is the most kind, gracious and patriotic person that ever ran for and lost the Presidency."
Same with Obammy. He's now blathering about supporting Trump and making a smooth transition, blah blah yadda yadda BS BS....
They know damn well Trump could very easily put the old hag in jail, and completely erase O'Liar's so called "legacy," and expose both of them for being total frauds, so they're suddenly being nice? To paraphrase Wayne Campbell, "I feel like I'm gonna hurl." Still, they are both venomous snakes, and Trump best keep that in mind for the rest of his (hopefully long) life.
We all know damn well there is no way Trump can deliver on all of his campaign promises with the anchor of Congress tied to his ankle, but hopefully he will A) cancel every last one of O'Liar's executive orders, and B) shitcan Obammycare and get us back to free markets. Lowering the corporate tax rate is yuuuge in my mind as well. He will need cooperation from Crongress for the last two things. Good luck with that.
But hey... Congress passed about 47 bills repealing Obammycare. Can't President Trump simply pick one and sign it? I actually do not know the answer to this.
In sad NC news (yes, I'm blathering), it appears Gov. Pat got beat by libtard Roy Pooper. Sad to see Pat go. I've had occasion to talk to the man, and he is a very good person and has his heart in the right place. Granted, Pooper will have to deal with Republican super-majorities in the House AND Senate. He won't get one ounce of his agenda passed, including repeal of HB2. Maybe Prez Trump can appoint McCrory "Secretary of Keeping Grown Men out of Girl's Bathrooms." I take that back; the bureaucracy needs trimmed, not fattened.
Massive instance of schadenfreude yesterday: Progressive friends sarcastically post articles about how their 401Ks are going to suffer because of Trump. (Ironically, because Trump was not the Wall Street candidate!) At stock market open about a 2% drop as a tantrum against the Trump victory. So what does the smart investor do? Sell commodities (up 2%) and buy equities (down 2%). 45 minutes later, the market is back up. By end of the day, it's near all-time highs with a >7% spread from the morning's trades.
ReplyDeleteThat, my friends, is the difference between winners and losers. Losers wallow while winners pay attention and move.
And now for the voice of pessimism. Trump has not actually won yet. There's still the Electoral College to get by and, while it hasn't happened in any Presidential election yet, some of Trumps electors could still be faithless or suborned.
ReplyDeleteThen he has to survive to be inaugurated. No, I wouldn't put it past the leftards to try.
