Except that's really not an apt way to put it: I don't think the Tea Party has gone anywhere or been inactive. Rather we're simply biding time until we see where we'll need to focus our attentions. Personally, I feel like an eager horse in the gate before a race - can't wait for the main event!

@Colby- MSM "news" about divided Republicans is meaningless and untrue background noise intended to dispirit us - and it will get worse. I don't believe it for a nanosecond. "Anyone But Obama" is going to get massive support. And in my own case, I'm eager to send a campaign donation to our eventual candidate. I think the day our nominee is finalized, you're going to see fiscal floodgates open.

@Emmentaler- If I mentioned coating the Bamster with burning sulfur (Heaven forbid!) I would expect an unpleasant visit from the Secret Service. But until someone other than God can turn someone into a pillar of salt, I think I'm on safe ground.

And as I said before, I'll wholeheartedly get behind whichever candidate is running against Obama. He would have to be coated in burning sulfur for the simile to really work a treat (which, notably, works pretty will with the comparison to Satan made earlier)...

And I agree with the MSM that this primary season is detrimental in that (a)they're consuming their funds while infighting and (b)giving the enemy camp PLENTY of ammunition.

I would have personally liked to be down to, at most, two candidates by now, but the underdogs are clinging to the race like a surprised squirrel stuck on the face of an equally surprised biker - if early numbers are any indication (which, I guess, they're not), you can stick a fork in Ron Paul - he's done. Newt, too.

This prolonged battle does make me a bit nervous, but, frankly, I'm not enamored with ANY of the Republican offerings. I will, of course, vote for whomever they eventually run to defeat Øbama as it's better by far to have a squishy-RINO in office than a socialist-communist bent on "fundamentally transforming" our nation. The sudden loss of bad legislation and executive orders, bad television, bad movies, bad news reporting and bad commentary would be as a breath of fresh air in an industrial hog lot.

Earl: I went to Beck's 8/28 rally in Washington D.C., and found it to be just about the most reaffirming gathering of folks you could ever hope to meet. Everyone there was respectful and courteous - the only exception being the occasional useful idiot 'plants' who showed up in an effort to discredit the whole affair... they were ridiculously outnumbered, and so were about as effective as a bug fart in a hurricane. I would like to think that this was an accurate cross section of Americans willing to go to some effort towards changing the direction of America: something like fifty thousand to one in favor of conservatives (and that may be a conservative estimate). This might explain why the progressive movement always tries to make conservative Americans feel outnumbered, surrounded and ultimately defeated. Conservative America, remember who is in the majority here, and who owns most of the guns.
