Conspiracy Theorists
Click cartoon to see larger size
The President has taken to the airwaves to accuse the GOP of hatching a conspiracy to oppose the government takeover of the healthcare industry in order to make him look bad. This is ridiculous for two reasons: the first is that there's a Democratic super-majority capable of passing bills without GOP help, so the real problems are clearly within the president's own party. The second reason is that it doesn't take a conspiracy from anyone to make this president look bad.

Many Happy Returns

Plans have finally been made to lay Michael Jackson's body to rest on his 51st birthday, following a hectic summer schedule of autopsies, viewings, and inquests.
But surely nobody could be as selfish and greedy as our little gopher friend, wanting to use someone else's misfortune as a way to get free dessert. Right? Right...?

Old Dogs, New Tricks

AARP, a group which supposedly represents the interests of older Americans, has been one of the largest and most vocal supporters of Obamacare - which includes provisions for denying care to the old, and billions of dollars in funding reduction for Medicare.
Older Americans are expressing their anger by quitting AARP and giving up their senior discounts, rather than supporting a liberal organization that discounts seniors.

Due to increasing anger from voters about Obamacare, the president is now offering a compromise: he'll take the public insurance option off the table, and replace it with "health co-ops" which will be exactly like the public option, but have a completely different name.
This is in keeping with the president's other ambitious re-naming initiatives, including calling anti-white racism a "teachable moment," relabeling political payoffs as an "economic stimulus," and re-titling socialism as "Hope and Change."

Message To Readers / Cartoon Size

Several readers have mentioned that it's sometimes hard to read Hope n' Change Cartoons, which keeps them from sending them to friends who may have vision problems. The way Blogspot, our website host, works, the cartoons are displayed at a fairly small size - BUT if you click on the cartoon once, it will take you to a new webpage where the cartoon is huge and legible to anyone other than a hardcore liberal. If you'd like to copy and/or send the cartoon to someone, this is the best version to use.
Note that to return to the blog from the "big" cartoon, you need to use the "page back" button or arrow in your browser.
Confusing? Yes, a little...but not as bad as a 1000 page health bill. And because Hope n' Change is a labor of love, we haven't been able to invest the time or money into looking into other blog software options.
To the many people who have taken the time to share our cartoons with others, we thank you. And to everyone else, please know how grateful we'll be if you help spread the word! -Stilton

The Whitehouse has cancelled the enormously popular squealer's hotline at Flag@Whitehouse.gov, presumably because so many conservatives turned themselves in, or pointed out that the "fishy" misinformation that disagrees with Obama's talking points has largely been coming from the Congressional Budget Office.

Axes of Evil

This week, the president announced that doctors would rather make big money amputating feet than by treating diabetes inexpensively. He has also accused pediatricians of cutting out healthy tonsils rather than giving allergy treatments, and further declared that prostate cancer can be reduced by cheaper colonoscopies (hint: in a colonoscopy you'll reach daylight before you find a prostate.)
If he truly believes that doctors are this evil and/or inept, why does he want 47 million more people exposed to them?

Dog Days

To err is human, to forgive divine. Of course, to breed dogs for fighting, kidnap housepets to use as blood sacrifices, and torture and kill dogs for pleasure is sociopathic. Making the Philadelphia Eagles "forgiveness" of Michael Vick not so much divine as obscene.
