Harry Potter & The Half-Blood President

A US Army reservist refused to be deployed to Afghanistan because he believes that Barack Obama's continuing refusal to prove his citizenship means he's not the legitimate Commander in Chief. So did the Army court martial the protestor? Throw him in jail? Make him peel potatoes? No...this week they simply revoked his orders and said they don't want to talk about it.

Even liberal bastion NPR has given up trying to prove that Obama is a citizen, and instead has adopted the editorial position "who cares where he was born?" Sure, what the hell - it's only the Constitution, right?

  1. And then the Dept. of Defense pressured his civilian employer into firing him. If this is not a total admission of Obama's lack of birthright, I don't know what it is.

  4. Interestingly, it seems like support for Obama is ebbing most quickly in freshman Democrats. For some reason, the Dems who've been playing politics the dirty old-fashioned way for decades seem the most comfortable with Obama's alleged "Change."

  5. That's right, Stilt.

One reason why this constant mantra of “CHANGE ! HOPE !” is so irritating is that they’ve been peddling this snake oil by Liberals for decades.

  7. In regards to the NPR article you linked, read the comments posted there. NPR listeners are quite liberal and even they thought the argument the writer made was absurd. It's added proof that the Messiah is losing his mojo - and fast!

Btw, you are a brilliant cartoonist.

  8. I don't think Rush Limbaugh owns the market on conservatism...however I'm shocked that even HE refuses to "go there" when it comes to Obama's birth certificate.

    This is getting so weird.

  9. Interesting comment from a NPR listener :

Obama's lawyers, Strumwasser and Woocher and Perkins Coie have so far managed to repress access to his academic records at Occidental College, his passport history from the Department of State, and his original long form birth certificate, alleged to be a "vault copy" in Hawaii's Health Database.

Perhaps "Foreign Policy" and NPR should do just a bit of investigative reporting of why Obama spends so much money preventing public access to his records.

  10. Thanks for the great remarks everyone! Nothing warms the cockels of our hearts here at Hope n' Change like seeing a lot of participation in the comments section! Which is good, because under Obamacare, our heart cockels won't be covered anymore...

  11. Philip I sure don't understand howcome he's allowed to hide all that stuff when they dug up every piece of paperwork imaginable on Sarah Palin's past, as well as McCain and Bush!!!

  12. You're right, Suzy.

But, mark my words : American people will hate Obama. The more his policies will hurt people the more his mojo - as said Shayne - will disappear. And it will happen soon.

Weeks after weeks, the approval ratings plunges.

  13. I'd like to think that people will come to hate Obama's policies (if not the man himself) sooner rather than later...but I'm enough of a pessimist to think that history may need to play itself out first; for people to lose their insurance, their doctors, and their ability to choose...to lose their jobs, their savings, and their retirements... to lose national security and important allies, before they truly realize all that Obama and the Democrats have labored to destroy.

I do believe it will happen...I'd like to think it will happen when America still has a prayer of recovery. But for that to be the case, it will have to happen soon.

  14. Stilt, I couldn't agree with you more.

Besides, since we are in the wrong track, I ABSOLUTELY cannot imagine this guy could be re-elected.

    As Dick Morris said :

    http://www.newsmax.com/morris/Obama_stimulus_recession/2009/07/15/236024.html

    Stimulus Demands Will Doom Obama.

    (...)

Of course, we all know that the only way to put the inflation virus back in the test tube is to trigger a new recession, this time caused by massive increases in interest rates, as Fed Chairman Paul Volcker did in 1979.

If the recession doesn't doom Obama to a single term, the inflation will. And if the inflation doesn't get him, the subsequent recession will.

The deeper he gets into his term, the more it is apparent that he threw it all away when he first took office and demanded over $1 trillion in stimulus and supplemental appropriation spending. He was doomed to lose the game right after he received the first kickoff.

  15. Unfortunately, I never thought he could get elected. I've lost any pretense of understanding the stupidity of the American electorate.

I was amazed at how unpopular Bush became and how easily the Democrats were able to take advantage of the media to put their man in office. I would have thought it would take 50-100 years before we had another Jimmy Carter. But it took less than 30.

  16. Yes, you're right Shayne. I never thought he could get elected too.

But Stilt is right when he said that history may need to play itself out first.

Why Obama May Lose in 2012

A very wise friend suggested to me that Obama's second term is an inevitability.

I have to take issue with him because it seems all too clear to me that the president has abandoned the ironclad strategy for victory.

What he should have done was to dedicate himself to fixing the banking/financial system, to restore its foundations, to bring about better rules, and to restore public confidence in the lifeblood of the system.

Had he done that, eight years would have been a foregone conclusion.

Instead, he has made the financial system an interesting sideline to go along with his attempts to bring about the eschaton through salvific, wishing-makes-it-so public policy.

His current path stands a decent chance of returning the nation to stagflation. And no politician can wear that millstone and make it look good.

  17. By the way, Shayne. We NEVER thought he could get elected, fair enough.

But keep in mind that the last election was not a landslide at all.

  18. Some people are concerned about term limits being abolished. That's a scary idea.

The other remote possibility is something happening to allow the President to initiate Martial Law which would also allow him to skip an election and stay in office.

Yep. And some people already planning for Obama's third term :

  21. I was particularly struck by Obama's choice of words when the President of Honduras refused to obey constitutional term limits, and was removed at gunpoint.

Obama called it a "terrible precedent" to remove him by force. Huh? It's only a "precedent" if some OTHER president decides not to leave office when the constitution says he must...so what does that say about Obama's frame of mind and plans for the future?

  24. In what way exactly has Obama refused to prove his citizenship? He posted a copy of his frickin' birth certificate on his campaign website for all to see, and the original has been vouched for by everyone who has examined it. His grandparents posted an announcement of his birth in the Honolulu paper, for crying out loud. Does anyone seriously think that they knew there was a chance that he would run for president someday and they would need that evidence?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Joe, the document on Obama's website is not, and never was, a Hawaiian birth certificate. It is a different document which simply acknowledges that an individual CLAIMS to have had a baby in Hawaii, but lacks the necessary state seal, doctor's signature, etc.

You say "the original has been vouched for by everyone who has examined it." Who, exactly, would that be?

An announcement of birth in the Honolulu paper has no legal status and, moreover, is exactly what a family would do if they were trying to establish citizenship without the proper documentation. Not because they were expecting him to be president, but because they didn't want their grandson to have only Kenyan citizenship and miss out on the myriad benefits of US citizenship.

  27. Joe, we appreciate the link, but were disappointed with what we found there. The document which Factcheck is so proud to have "examined and handled" is, by their own admission, a print that was issued in 2007.

The original "long form" document would settle the question once and for all...but the world still hasn't seen it, and Obama's lawyers aren't letting it out. Even Factcheck said "We tried to ask the Hawaii DOH why they only offer the short form, among other questions, but they have not given a response."

So the question remains: if there is a long form birth certificate, why is it being hidden?
