As Iran happily enriches weapons-grade uranium and tests long range missiles, Barack Obama is getting tired of holding out his arms for an unreciprocated hug from the terrorist state. Stopping just short of using the dreaded presidential frowny face, Obama has now announced that he will "ratchet up the pressure and see how Tehran responds."
Presumably, they'll respond much the same way the French knights did in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," and call the president a "wiper of other people's bottoms" whose "mother was a hamster and father smelled of elderberries."
And just what "pressure" the president intends to "ratchet up" is something of a mystery.
Neither Russia nor China is on board for sanctions, and Obama's only threat to Iran is that he hopes to talk the UN into writing a stinging letter. Meanwhile, Ahmadinejad is loading his catapults with nuclear cows, confident that Obama will - once again - "run away!!!!"

Don't forget that Iran has been holding three American hikers in Evan Prison for "illegally crossing" into Iran territory eight months ago. This is the same prison where Iranians protesting last year's presidential election were tortured (some died). Iran wants a seat on the U.N. Human Rights council. Not much comment from Obama or apparent pressure to stop this from happening.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous- Great point. There is no pressure on Iran from Obama, and his weakness is actually increasing the danger in an already volatile region.
ReplyDeleteWasn't it also a nurse in One Flew Over the Coo Coo's Nest????
ReplyDeleteBuzz- Right you are! Come to think of it, Nurse Ratchet would make the perfect poster girl for Obamacare: mean, bureaucratic, powerful, vindictive...and eager for troublemakers to be lobotomized.
ReplyDeleteIf Obama was smart he'd turn his head the other way, keep his mouth shut and let Israel take care of Iran they way they want to before Iran can built an ICBM and uses it in Israel without remorse.
