Bomb Mot

Barack Hussein Obama's controversial "big hugs and no preconditions" policy towards Iran finally paid off this week, as a chastened and repentant Mahmoud Ahmadinejad fired up his showroom-fresh nuclear reactor, then announced a new tool of Iranian diplomacy - a long-range bomber.

In a nationally televised speech, Ahmadinejad said that the bomber's main message is "peace and friendship," and that along with a payload of
four stealth cruise missiles and two 250-pound bombs, it is the "messenger of salvation and dignity for humanity."

All of which begs the critical question: is it more important to evaluate a threat based on what something
actually is, or simply on what it claims to be?

Telling the critical difference would, we suppose, be a matter of wisdom. But Barack Obama has already gone on record that matters of
wisdom are of no interest to him.

  1. While I believe in peace through strength-enough-to-incinerate-half-the-people-on-the-planet, I know we aren't stupid enough to call our military capability and nuclear arsenal "peace and friendship" devices. They are a clear message: Don't f**k with us. I have no problem with that message. I have a problem with the mental state of someone who would address the rest of the world like it's a two-year-old.

  2. And so it begins...

I can't comment at the moment. I'm busy digging a retro 1950s, lead-lined bomb shelter in my back yard. I'll have to get back this you on this one.

  3. Amazing what a little spray paint can do for WWII Nazi technology.

  5. Sorry about going back to the mosque issue, but I just read the words of Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf's wife, Daisy, and it made my head spin. Regarding people protesting the mosque she said, "We are deeply concerned because this is like a metatastized anti-semitism...it's beyond Islamaphobia. It's hate of Muslims." Huh? What? When I think of metatastisized anti-semitism, I see much of the muslim world (think Ahmadinejad and his ilk) and their non-stop hatred of Jews. Daisy (where'd she get that name?) just took the word "anti-semitism" and bastardized it to mean something she perceives to be worse: hatred of Muslims. How ironic, her husband (we're told) is on a goodwill tour for the mosque. Meanwhile, much like one of Iran's new "peace" missiles, she blows up this facade of tolerance with an offensive, divisive, and revealing choice of words.

  6. Anonymous- We couldn't agree more. Daisy's comments either show a complete ignorance of Americans' sensitivities, or a complete disregard for those sensitivities...and either of those conditions means she shouldn't be speaking to this issue. And for those same reasons, the Ground Zero Mosque should not be built.

Meanwhile, her husand - on a taxpayer-funded tour sponsored by the State Department - is telling Muslims overseas that all of the "attention" the mosque project is getting shows that it's "successful." So presumably this growing acrimony is exactly what he and his mysterious group of financial backers has wanted all along.

  7. yeh Buzz...i thought the same thing...looks like a nazi buzzbomb they shot at London!

Whats amazing to me, the Iranian leader is doing the same thing Obama is, talking to us like we're 2 year olds, and expecting us to buy it!!

  9. Don't worry about Daisy talking out of school on this subject anymore. When her hubby gets back from his trip he will beat the living hell out of her...as is the muslim way.

  10. Just heard on tv that Daisy will be joining her hubby on our dime. (Can't confirm the accuracy of this.)

  11. Daisy?! Her name is Daisy?! Let me guess: her maiden name wasn't Duke, was it?

I've read a bit on this person while digging my shelter, and all I can say is that the duplicitousness; the ability of these people to say things that are different facts depending on your perspective on the issue must be a muslim trait - particularly since you see both 0bama, and this cohort of mosqueteers in New York pulling off this brand of doublespeak with distinct aplomb.

"What gives me strength," she says, is that "we are in a history making moment. Our ideals must prevail. We have to fight for a bigger society." - Daisy non-Duke Khan in the Washington Compost

Yes. Yes you are. The triumphant erection of a muslim monument to the conquering of yet another infidel territory is a history making moment. Our ideals must prevail. - this is a scary statement, considering the background of she who utters it. Where their ideals don't prevail, heads will roll, hey? "...We have to fight for a bigger society." of muslims.

I cannot for one minute believe that this "community center" is for the community at large to "to scale up and build up people of all religions" as this islamic version of Hillary Clinton suggests. What the hell does that mean, anyway: to scale up"?! To scale up what precisely? The muslim population of New York, perhaps?

And that other mosques are being denied across America should not raise a singular eyebrow: the mosque has always been a symbol of muslim triumph over the conquered. It is not a religious center, it is the islamic version of the arche de triomphe. We should tolerate these buildings on our soil no more than we should tolerate the mexican nationals desecrating our flag and subjugating it to theirs upon US territory.

Turn that missile around, ahmadinejad. You need to make sure your own house is thoroughly blown up before addressing mine.

    Back to the shovels...

  12. Take a break for sec, my friend....I saw her on TV too, but...you dont even have to stop and listen to ANY of these people anymore...have you noticed....we KNOW what every one of them is going to say, dont we? Im speaking of the muslim people in favor of building this shrine, to Obama, to ANYBODY on the left as they plow their way through our beloved Constitution and our lives. I was wondering what George W's, or his dad's feelings would be on this deal. Or REAGAN'S !!!!

better get back to your diggin now, bud.

  13. Its a requirement of their belief to lie to the infidels. As far as I am concerned, if their mouth is moving, nothing but lies are coming out. Religion of Peace? My ass.

  14. An explosion of tolerance and peace from the religion of peace and tolerance.

  15. Readers- Top-notch comments as usual! And we agree that the words coming from Daisy and her husband about the mosque are meaningless. We all would easily recognize words that sound like genuine openness, contrition, appreciation of other faiths, and sensitivity to the horrible pain inflicted on our country on 9/11. But we're not hearing so much as a syllable of it out of these people (or, for that matter, from their Democratic supporters).

The 9/11 attacks were committed in the name of Islam. This Islamic mosque is supposed to be built on the site of the 9/11 attack. If these "experts" can't understand why this bothers Americans (and have no interest in finding out), then they have no business building their mosque.
