Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Here at Hope n' Change, we love Christmas Eve. The excitement, the decorations, the expectations, and the knowledge that something magical is about to happen. Oh, sweet suspense!

And that's pretty much how we're feeling today. Filled with the joyful spirit of Election Day, but wishing that it would just get here!

The Republicans and Democrats have already said and done everything they can in order to plead their final cases for having been "naughty or nice," and can now do nothing but wait to see which list they've ended up on.

And while we don't want to be overconfident, we're guessing that tomorrow, the former Illinois senator who was best known for voting "present" won't be getting one.

So let us all give thanks that our founding fathers wrote free elections into law. Because yes, Virginia - that is our sanity clause.

  4. I'd say something about Obama getting a lump of coal in his stocking, but I'd be accused of racism because coal is...you know.

  5. Angry Hoosier Dad- Because coal is...subject to "cap and tax"?

  6. Election Day 2010!! Hooray - it means we are at the half-way mark between Election Day 2008 (another day of infamy) & Election Day 2012! That's the Christmas I'm waiting for.

  7. I believe this election is going to be more like Independence Day than Christmas. If we gain a majority in the house, that alone will stop the steam roller in its tracks. If we gain the House and the Senate, the steamroller will cease to run completely. Yeah, we won't be able to pass any beneficial legislation until we fire Comrade Obama, but you watch; companies will start spending and hiring again. That, alone is worth all our efforts!

This thing I look forward to the most?

Reid and Pelosi being spayed and neutered, or even better.... unemployed.

  8. The people had better NOT vote one crew of rats out, just to turn their backs and let another draw up new, but equally as damaging legislation to butter THEIR own bread. We the People must be vigilant. The slime is still in the ice machine and needs to be checked periodically. BUT, their IS a great feeling in the air. Progressives can all gather at their favorite dumpster and share their Thanksgiving meal from now on.

  9. Independence Day! Oh goody, get out the sparklers and BBQ grills tomorrow...

And Colby...the scary thing is...once companies do start spending and hiring again...Obama will claim the victory and use that to run for a second term!

  10. Tomorrow evening, we will all hear and breathe a collective, natinwide SIGH OF RELIEF! Been a long time coming, and I'm hoping, as I'm sure you all are...that it is even more devastating to the socialist progressives than it appears it is going to be! Our future as a free people literally is at stake! Personally, I kinda like freedom!!!! God Bless America!

  11. pryorguy(and others)- Tomorrow should be a great day, even if it's Day One out of the 10,000 days needed to truly put this country back on the right track.

And yes, we hope that this will be completely devastating to the socialist progressives. Just think of all the political capital and tricks that they could only use once and have now squandered; there will not be another meaningless "hope and change" campaign, no one will believe empty "post-racial" rhetoric or believe that voting for a black man is the balm for (inappropriate at this point) white guilt. Voters will never again accept "we have to pass it so you can find out what's in it" - especially when combined with a sneering "I don't have time to read the bill." Voters will know that you can't borrow your way out of debt, that no politician really intends to do away with earmarks, and that Democrats never planned to "drain the swamp."

The Obama campaign essentially raped the innocent and naive, and showed a hopeful young generation of voters that "The One" was a conniving Chicago politician whose heart was in socialism and anti-Americanism, and whose moving and meaningful words were never intended for life beyond the teleprompter.

The electorate is sadder and a little wiser for having trusted Barack Obama to be a man of honor, and finding out that he isn't...and never was.

  12. Yes, I have thought of the fact that we ARE a little wiser now, after enduring this anti-American, politically correct onslaught for several months! I, personally have learned a lot about progressivism that probably would not have presented itself if the current administration had not been put in place. So, thanks, King Obama, for the impetus for my education! May we all remember that policticians on both sides are just that in the end....politicians. Guys who want to get re-elected pretty much more than anything!

And thank you, doc, for this wonderful place to post comments and be encouraged by others of like mind.

  13. I think, come Jan 21 2013, I'm gonna miss this place >SNIFF!!!<

I recall a highly controversial cartoon of the Statue of Liberty, bruised and cowering on a bed, while Obama was putting his pants back on, caption is 'that's ok, you'll learn to like it' - anyone else see that?

I'm seeing a sequel, his face is a MESS - black eye, fat lip (I know, shut up), broken nose, blood everywhere, held to the wall by her foot across his neck. She's pointing to the door. Caption "I think you had better leave, NOW, Bitch"
    Oh, I get tingles...

THAT having been said, it's NOT a done deal.
    VOTE
    Take your friends to vote!

we can't let them steal this one!
