Groucho Harpo Barack O
Every now and then, if you keep perfectly still, hold your breath, and have exceptionally sharp ears...you can hear a little "truth" in between Barack Obama's lies. And what a truth it is...
In this week's press conference in which the president was arguing to raise taxes during an economic crisis, he said this: "I do not want, and I will not accept, a deal in which...I’m able to keep hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional income that I don’t need, while a parent out there who is struggling to figure out how to send their kid to college suddenly finds that they’ve got a couple thousand dollars less in grants or student loans."
Let's review that again slowly: Barack Hussein Obama finds it unacceptable that anyone should have an income which provides more than they "need". And others who claim to have needs (but insufficient means) should simply be given the confiscated wealth of the person who earned it.
And that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is Marxism 101: "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs!" And who determines what those "needs" are, and in which direction the money will flow? The government, of course!
But just how can the all-seeing, all-knowing, and all-beneficent government really understand how much of someone's income they actually "need"? If the person is able to meet all their bills, they clearly don't need that extra money, right? Unless they're saving up for a better home, or retirement, or hope to take some time off, or are setting aside money to eventually start a business, or perhaps just want to buy more and better stuff (also called "energizing the economy.")
Or from my own personal experience, how about someone like a writer who may go years earning almost nothing between major published works...then get ONE year that puts them into the "evil rich" bracket (suitable for economic rape). It would be nice - and logical - to be able to bank that "extra" money for the lean times which will follow until the next project comes to fruition. But no, rather than allowing "income averaging" as the IRS did in years past, people who dare to get into the "evil rich" bracket (even if the one year of pay represents multiple years of work) are now treated as despicable robber-barons.
But it's pointless to get into too many specifics when the overall message is so simple and so important. In America, no one - least of all the government - can decide what you do or don't "need," or declare that if your earned income is more than you "need" that it should be confiscated.
Call it Marxism, Socialism, Communism or whatever you like. Call it Liberalism or Progressivism if you prefer to be timely and trendy.
But don't call it American. Don't call it moral. Don't call it Constitutional.
And don't call it an acceptable sentiment for Barack Hussein Obama to feed to the American people in continuing hopes of inciting his very own ass-covering, blood-spilling class war.
Stilton Jarlsberg
There's nothing quite like leftist hypocrisy is there? I don't have exact figures but Obama is among the top Presidents for making 7.7 million dollars while in office (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/may/18/barack-obama-tax-returns-books). If he really believes people who make more than $250,000 a year (he's made 30 times that much) should pay more, why doesn't he donate all that money to charity? I'm sure one of the failing Barack Obama Elementary schools (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_places_named_after_Barack_Obama) could use some extra cash.
ReplyDeleteIf I were prone to violence, it would not be against the president. It would be against the media fluffers - you know, the "watchdogs" of the fourth estate (more like fifth column). They listen to this socialist crap every day and have the opportunity and obligation to sound a warning but they say nothing. They are little more than stenographers for this vile regime and they deserve no mercy.
ReplyDeleteWhy get upset now? He's ALWAYS been about "redistribution of wealth" - ie, penalizing success, and rewarding failure / incompetence / lazyness. D-Baggery of the first water. I'm sure we're all for a safety net, but when did it become a hammock on teh beach? W/ free drinks? And cute attendants to bring them to you?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
ReplyDeleteYou really said a mouthful there! This arrogant dickhead has money coming out his wazoo, but WE'RE supposed the share OUR money! Him and The Wookie are taking million dollar vacations, but what do you want to bet they don't voluntarily give a crying dime to the needy?
This is just one more example of how screwed up communism is. The people powerful enough to make the rules are never willing to part with THEIR money. They are all born with pointing fingers.
Oh how I wish somebody, somewhere would find enough dirt on this guy to get him out of office. We can NOT afford even one more month, much less a year and a half.
I know all about their evil rich designation as last year on Jan 1 I retired to get to 128k cash bonus to pay off bills to keep from going bankrupt. Of that 128k they took 20% in taxes off the top and then had to pay 10% in penalty for a loss of 30% or almost 40k. At the end of they year my gross income was around 180k (first time ever over 80k between the wife and me) they decided to hit me with another 19k in taxes as I was way to rich, for that year, and needed to give it back. I made way too much for them and they had to redistribute it. So now I'm barely making the payments they require or as their letter says I will have everything taken away or garnished until the bill is paid off.
ReplyDeleteMoral of the story it doesn't pay to do the right thing as the Democrats and Obama government will bend you over for it and stick their Marxist dick in you. If I had just taken the bankruptcy the government would have been proud of me and probably given me freebies.
So proud to have the Marxist Obama and the Democrats making decisions on what to take from me so they can take the country to hell in order tear our economy up and get rid of Democracy. I guess they didn’t learn the same lesson that I did which was each to his ability so you work for what you want and make your obligations good such as bills.
@Anonymous (top)- Excellent point. If Obama has more money than he needs (as he asserts) then why not just hand it all over to the treasury right now? Obama seems to be saying that even He (we're always supposed to capitalize deities, right?) won't give an extra dime unless he's compelled to by tax law. Well here's a news flash: there is no "moral good" attached to an act which you're compelled to do. And apparently, "moral good" isn't of interest to this president.
ReplyDelete@Angry Hoosier Dad- I hear you, brother! When Obama announced that he "couldn't guarantee" that Social Security checks would go out, the reporter should have asked "why not? Why isn't there money in the coffers? Where did it go?" But as always, the crickets simply chirp in the silence.
@Pete(Detroit)- I've mentioned it many times in the past, but Obama has said that he wants to raise taxes on the rich even if it reduces revenue for the poor. Asked to explain, he said "because it would be more fair." It's all about his desire to inflict pain and punishment on the "rich"...and not at all about helping the needy.
@Colby- I wonder if "Hussein" translates to "Hypocrisy"... because it's sure as hell Obama's middle name.
@Anonymous (immediately above)- Thanks for sharing; that's a good example of how individuals get hurt by "fiscal stereotyping" that puts you in the "millionaires and billionaires" club without looking at the big picture. But of course, the government doesn't want the big picture - they want your money.
So much for the American Dream....So many families struggling to even own their own home...and if they do happen to make enough to afford it, they have to also figure in enough taxes to keep Uncle Sam happy enough to leave them alone.
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong, I am not advocating class envy...what I'm saying is, I'm so tired of the government punishing people for working hard enough to earn that "American Dream" while rewarding those who sit on their butts and wait for a paycheck in the mail.
So interesting that Obama is worth MILLIONS but I've never even seen him truly give a handout to someone who needed it. Ever. You know what, if I had millions...I'd buy a few bags of groceries for a struggling single mom....or help someone with a light bill one month....or something...Obama talks big but he's the most selfish guy ever to be called "President" our country has ever seen.
One look at the uninhabitable "community" that the Sleeper the sheeple elected and his Chicago cronies "organized" in Illinois should be sufficient example of the Improvements he and his gov't will bring to the nation.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember the exact numbers, but about 3 years ago, I saw a list of politicians' contributions to charity, and Joe Bite-me gave LESS to charity than I had. Just for perspective, I made about $65k that year. How pathetic is that?!
ReplyDeleteSoooo.. to all you fockers out there that want to decide how much the rest of us kick in, EAT MY SHORTS! If you would pay it forward like us Americans do, there would be no starving, naked children or old people eating Alpo for dinner.
Whew! An added note.... I am currently in the middle of reading "Atlas Shrugged." Really, really freaking scary! This book was witten a long time ago by someone who had experienced communism firsthand, and it is just waayyyy to close to home. Was Senator McCarthy really a nut, or did he have the right idea? Just sayin'
I once heard Ted Kennedy give a speech in which he talked about how we needed to make those ultra-wealthy people pay more in taxes. Apparently he said this with a straight face. I had to seriously wonder what a Kennedy would count as "ultra wealthy" if not himself. Maybe it's someone who makes 25 cents more than him? And naturally, nobody in the news media covering that speech would dare ask the Hero Of Chappaquiddick what "ultra wealthy" meant. Why is it that it's so easy to be a socialist or communist when you're born into money?
ReplyDeleteObama's a Marxist? Who knew?
ReplyDeleteAn open letter to those who think that Marxism is going to make their life any better:
If you consider yourself "poor" and live in America, it is almost certain that you still have a standard of living that is many, many times superior to almost all of the 6-billion-some-odd people who live on Earth. To most of those people, YOU are "rich". And many of them are looking at your wealth as the "fair" solution to their economic "needs".
What are you going to tell them?
The kreep said he can't go along with any agreement that lets millionaire authors like him keep millions of dollars "that I don't need". I want someone at one of these news conferences to hold him to that. There's a line on the 1040 for how much additional money you want to give to the government. I want him to GIVE THE GOVERNMENT 2 MILLION DOLLARS. NOW. I don't want to hear about his daughters or their education or some crap. HE really doesn't need that money. ALL his expenses are paid by the USG, he is going to get a MASSIVE lifelong pension forever including a staff etc that can never and will never run out. GIVE THE USG 2 MILLION BUCKS. NOW. Bite the Okra, big boy. Make your bed. Mow the lawn. Wash the car and take out the trash. Whatever your household chores are. BUT GIVE THE GOVERNMENT 2 MILLION BUCKS. You have it. You don't need it. Show us. Teach us a lesson. GTG2MB. GTG2MB. GTG2MB. GTG2MB. GTG2MB. GTG2MB.
ReplyDeleteI am not wealthy....as a matter of fact I am on disability and if not for the charity of my family would be eating alpo and living in a box on the street. People like me that are truly disabled do need Social Security but from personal experience it sure is not a hammock on the beach. I cannot make it on the pittance that the government deems is my fair share....not sure how exactly they figured it out but less then $900 a week when I earned almost $50K a year for YEARS is ridiculous. And now this overgrown man-baby that is in the Oval Office wants to threaten what little I do get? What an asshole....he is not looking out for the people, he is not looking out for his voters....he is looking out for his own ideology and his want of economic revolution and a change in America to his brand of Socialism/Marxism/Communism. We need to get thid joke out of office....and I just hope that all the other people who actually depend on their government Social Security checks realize that he is holding us hostage just so he can get his own way and tax the rich even more.
ReplyDeleteAnother question why was it Social Security and military checks that won't be able to be paid.....but he said nothing about welfare and handouts to other governments and organizations like the Muslim Brotherhood?
Dave...if only they'd have privatized SS a long time ago...your money would still be there! :-( I wish they'd fix it NOW so our children will have something to retire on (or help if they become disabled).
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, its pretty "funny" (in a sick way) that Obama wants to rob paychecks from the elderly, disabled, and the military instead of the people sitting on their fat rears eating Cheetos and watching soap operas and having children. That and the billions that go to countries that hate us and the bribes to organizations, or even controversial places like Planned Parenthood.
I do hope the country bands together and says "Obama, I don't care what you threaten us with, we will not let you get your way...because we know that you getting your way is the ultimate threat to our nation."
Correction I said less then $900 a week.....I meant less then $900 a MONTH!!! $900 a week I could live on.
ReplyDelete@Suzy--Privatization of Social Security is about the only way to protect the program and the sooner the better. I also agree that the country needs to come together and put their collective foot down on Obama.....I just wish it could be mine on his scrawny neck!!
@Dave: some years back, the employees of Galveston County (Texas) were given the option to take whatever money was going from their pay for Social Security & put that money into a "private fund". note that they DID have to contribute to one plan or the other! those who opted for the "private fund" are retiring with roughly 5x the amount of SS. & they don't have to worry about brobama sitting on their checks.
ReplyDelete@Colby: McCarthy did have it right as the Venona intercepts proved. Whittaker Chamber's book, "Blacklisted by History" gives all the evidence you could want.
ReplyDeleteLearn a lesson from the communists: keep on calmly repeating the big lie until the sheep come to accept it as fact. But in our case, it's not a lie, but the truth. Calm confidence is everything. And the truth is that BO is a communist devoted to the crippling of the United States as the pre-emminent capitalist power in the world, and therefore the main obstacle to the spread and dominance of communism.
If I sound like an extremist or a crank to you, then you've had a little too much of the Marxist kool-aid that has successfuly concealed the truth for 60 years or so and demonized anyone who has told it.
George, I'd suggest to anybody, (especially those under 50) to take heed and just assume that they will be collecting little to nothing from Social Security by the time they wish/need to retire. People with their own savings don't need the government to feed them, and won't be reliant upon sleazy politicians like Obama holding up their check in for the explicit purpose of extorting votes from them.
ReplyDeleteEveryone: Forgive me for using this site for a personal message, but I wanted to let Doktor Paulie know that, after four years away, I made a skydive yesterday...in part encouraged by his enthusiasm for his jumps. Yes, it was ugly, but it was awesome and I'm so glad to be back in the air. I intend to keep doing it until infirmity or Obama take it away from me.
ReplyDelete@John the Econ- My concern is that "people with their own savings" will become the new "evil rich" once the evil rich are tapped out. I don't think asset taxes are out of the question. In fact, the so-called "inheritance tax" is actually a HUGE asset tax already...all the government needs to do is apply it to the living. But, you know, just the evil living who are hoarding money.
ReplyDelete@Angry Hoosier Dad- Fun! But don't even kid about Obama taking away your ability to skydive; he'll put a tax on it just so he can say he's responsible for "falling taxes" (ba-da-BOOM!)
@AHD: WHOOP! There is no such thing as an ugly skydive. Wheeeeeee! That's the ONLY kind of skydive. WHOOP!
ReplyDeleteObama can have my Bible, and my guns, and my skydiving when he prys them from my cold dead fingers.
WHOOP!
Excellent sir, linked at RR...
ReplyDeleteReaganite's Sunday Funnies
Well WTF is holding him back from giving away his "unneeded" wealth?
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot....liberals only like to give away OTHER people's money!
Let alone a Czarist, commie like 0bama!
