Obamaprayer

(Click cartoon for larger size)

In 1964, Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart famously said that while he could not define obscenity, "I know it when I see it."

Which is why Barack Hussein Obama's latest attack on the Supreme Court and the Constitution is, without any doubt whatsoever,
spectacularly obscene.

In order to support his illegal healthcare power grab, the president of the United States is drawing upon his experience as a radical community organizer to send protesters to surround the Supreme Court as they hear arguments on Obamacare.

Are you throwing up in your mouth yet? Wait - there's more! Because this won't be just an
ordinary group of protesters. NoooOOooo. The man who just threw Catholics and freedom of religion under the bus (and famously was a 20-year member of a radical, racist, America-hating church) invited dozens of allegedly religious activists to the Whitehouse to coordinate his "prayer vigil" to support Obamacare

In commenting on this clear blasphemy and Constitutional assualt, the Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney is direct and eloquent:

“It is troubling that President does not celebrate the National Day of Prayer at the White House or attend church on a regular basis, (as he did all during the 2008 campaign) yet he will call for prayer vigils to help support and promote his political agenda. Mr. President, prayer should never be about advancing a political agenda, but honoring God.

The President seems very ‘selective’ in celebrating and respecting faith and religious freedom. President Obama is calling for public prayer and expressions of faith to support legislation that crushes religious freedom with immoral and unjust HHS mandates against the Catholic Church. I would suggest that the President pray and seek God to put forward health care legislation that honors the Constitution, respects religious freedom and protects innocent human life.”

Frankly, Hope n' Change doesn't believe there's a hoot in Hell's chance that Mr. Obama will pray for any such guidance...nor would he accept it if it was presented to him by God personally on stone tablets.

And so, the Chicago Organizer's "Occupy the Supreme Court" protests will undoubtedly happen.

And if a pillar of salt is subsequently found in the Oval Office with its feet up on the desk? Then our prayers will have been answered.

  3. There exists an extremely powerful spiritual being that WILL hear Obama's prayers and WILL act upon them. Thankfully, God is more powerful than that being, so WE need to be vigilant and prayerful.

I do not wish to offend non-Christians, but this is how I believe. God will not be mocked!

  4. It would be great if absolutely no-one showed up to "occupy the Supreme Court". It would be poetic. But, of course, Bill Maher, Chris Matthews, Katy Couric, et al. are sure to be there (in spirit, if not in body), representing those there as "masses" - regardless of the actual number present.

It continues to be amazing to me that this can be going on around us, and that none of the remaining branches of our government seem willing or able to check his progress. And the media - that stalwart defender of the common good - sold out eons ago...

  5. I thought that liberals don't pray. I had even heard that they don't want prayer in the public sphere at all. So somehow I don't think they're going to get many prayers for Obamacare, so much as they'll get threatening mobs to chant slogans.

  6. Just when you think it can’t get more bizarre. If 30 people show up it will be embellished to 30,000 in the media. They will not be praying to God … they’ll be praying to their gods, assuming they pray at all and just don’t make a bunch of noise.

On a related note, to many people, including Øbama, Øbama IS god. Maybe they’ll be praying to him?

  7. Glenn Beck was mocked by the msm for doing the same thing. And the families who attended were derided as uninformed. Plus there were the usual digs about the mostly white crowd which obviously implied they were racists. But they sure cleaned up after themselves.

  8. @Proof- Somehow, I keep managing to be surprised by how low Obama will sink. And I'm still betting that in the run-up to the election, he'll hit new and currently unthinkable depths.

@Angry Hoosier Dad- The way you can tell them apart is that a big rock of salt will be surrounded by licking cows, but a big rock of cocaine will be surrounded by Hollywood liberals.

@Colby- I am neither Christian nor anti-Christian, and your comments don't offend me in the least. The president's religious hypocrisy, however, offends me to the depths of my being.

@Emmentaler- Unfortunately, I'm sure this be a well-attended and photogenic event (at least as far as any images the public will see). But as you say, there should be louder and stronger voices than mine calling "foul" on the president reverting to his community organizer training and putting together protests from the Whitehouse. It's now officially a war between the Constitution and Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals." Obama has chosen his side: every other politician in Washington has to do the same.

@Jim Hlavac- This effort has all of the theological integrity of a funeral protest by the Westboro Baptist Church.

And per your comment that "liberals don't pray," if you follow the link in my commentary about Jeremiah Wright's church, you'll see a video of Barack Obama praising him as a "great man," and explaining that what drew him (Barry) to the church is the "stories and songs" of black people, and the way the churches were a good system of organization. He mentions nothing about God, Jesus, faith, or belief. Rather, he saw (and sees) the church as a tool he can wield to influence others.

@Chuck- There already is a church that believes Obama is God. It's called the mainstream media.

@Earl- Great point. People of faith are routinely depicted as ignorant, primitive racists (you know, the kind who bitterly cling to guns and God) by the left...but Obama's protesters will be presented as angels of wisdom and mercy. It's enough to make a maggot gag.

Seeing that cartoon of Obama carrying an instrument of crucifixion almost had me believing the Romans had a good idea...except for that whole murdering my savior thing.

  10. @Readers- Per the link I mentioned to Obama talking about his church, he says "My own faith is not necessarily a traditional faith. I don't come out of an institutionalized religious setting." He then goes on to say that what's actually important to him is using the black churches to work with people.

    Any questions?

  11. @My Dog Brewski- As tempting as that image might seem, rest assured that any cross Obama would be dragging would be made of the same lightweight styrofoam as the Greek columns he used as props for his speeches, and so would be incapable of supporting any weight. Much like the president's Constitutional arguments for Obamacare.

  12. The Reverend Mahoney is right--this whole thing is VERY disturbing. But then, everything the POTUS does is distrubing.
@Colby--I'm right there with you--God will not be mocked. There will be a day or reckoning--and I hope it will be in November!
We do need to all pray for this nation to remain strong and hopefully we will find some truly good and decent men and women to lead this country and to remind "We the People" that the USA is the best place on the planet..not because of what the government is doing for us but because we know how to be great without so much government interference.

  15. He never ceases to amaze ... his hero, Saul Alinsky, Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins -- or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom -- Lucifer.
    -- Saul Alinsky
So maybe the prayers will be to Lucifer ... the real god of the left.
The One ... cites biblical verses to justify increased taxation, Immigration reform, and same sex unions.

Last month I was engaged by some "christian" lefties citing Obama's use of the Gospel to justify increased taxation. They told me how that proved his sincerity in Christianity. I then asked them to please cite me the Gospel verses that Obama and the lefties use to justify abortion and infanticide. Conversation over. Well, ya gotta ask.

christians are always quick to use religion as a weapon against Christians.

  16. @Cookie- Good sentiments. Although I'm not a churchgoer, I understand the huge difference between praying for personal strength and wisdom... and praying for God to do your bidding (as Obama wants). Someone needs to explain to Obama that the Bible is not Aladdin's lamp.

@Pete(Detroit)- Don't wrack your head trying to do so. The one good thing in Johnny Optimism's world is that Barack Obama isn't in it.

@TheOldMan- "...and you don't mess around with Him."

@elcedar- I don't need any special theology to tell me that Saul Alinsky is a devil.

And it's preposterous for anyone to believe that Obama is following the teachings of Jesus by raising taxes. Especially when you hear B. Hussein in this link explaining why America is not and must not be a "Christian nation."

  17. Not to dwell on my Christian beliefs, but...

There is a passage in the New Testament where Jesus talks about "righteous" people praying out loud in public; these folks are using the prayer for their own glory, and the attention from the crowd is their only reward. Those who shun the crowd and pray in private will receive the true blessings of God.

Oh, that we had a president that understood this principle! I can picture in my mind a Ronald Reagan off in a dark room by himself on his knees praying for God to bless our country. Instead we have a self centered prima dona with a big neon sign that says, "Look at ME! I'm PRAYING!"

Elcedar pegged who the recipient of those prayers is! ...and he was supposedly the most beautiful angel of all...

    OK - done ranting now!

Got my Watch this weekend! I have been proudly displaying it ever since.

  18. If only they would unwittingly pray for God to smite the enemies of America, and God would hear their prayers and answer them accordingly. The sudden loss of bad legislation and executive orders, bad television, bad movies, bad news reporting and bad commentary would be as a breath of fresh air in an industrial hog lot.

Earl: I went to Beck's 8/28 rally in Washington D.C., and found it to be just about the most reaffirming gathering of folks you could ever hope to meet. Everyone there was respectful and courteous - the only exception being the occasional useful idiot 'plants' who showed up in an effort to discredit the whole affair... they were ridiculously outnumbered, and so were about as effective as a bug fart in a hurricane. I would like to think that this was an accurate cross section of Americans willing to go to some effort towards changing the direction of America: something like fifty thousand to one in favor of conservatives (and that may be a conservative estimate). This might explain why the progressive movement always tries to make conservative Americans feel outnumbered, surrounded and ultimately defeated. Conservative America, remember who is in the majority here, and who owns most of the guns. Progressives would like you to forget that.

  19. @Colby- As you say, Obama never exhibits genuine religiosity (nor does he ever appear to be motivated or guided by it), but he'll scream his "devotion" from the rooftops if he thinks it will sway a vote or two.

Glad you got your Hope n' Change watch! I've got a couple more still headed my way (and if anyone missed out, you can still buy them at the links in the original cartoon - but not at the discounted price).

@Mike Porter- Now you've got me fantasizing about the opposite of The Rapture: The Crapture, in which the really loathesome people are sucked from the surface of the Earth.

And thanks for the on-the-ground reportage of the Glenn Beck event. I can already promise that whatever "prayer vigil protest" Obama whips up will get far more (and far more favorable) coverage than Beck's event did.

But the MSM isn't everything. And personally I believe that the Tea Party is just waiting for the primaries to clear up so we can roll up our sleeves and really start making the case about how this election has to turn out.

  20. Dear Lord, please let the "occupy" people, Ms. Fluke, Rev Wright, and all the other usual suspects and nutcases show up to demonstrate for the imposition of their new order. Let them loudly and clearly have their say so it can be made clear to the rest of this great nation what they are up against this fall.

    Amen.

  21. Colby, and others....you are so right, I am beginning to feel deep down that God will only be mocked for so long, as this nation has done in the recent past and is even now ratcheting up the blasphemous policies and literally SPITTING on the Constitution. Or worse....they would use an 'H' that word! Bill Maher for sure!

  24. Obama's minions will be permitted to display crosses and religious symbols in The Public Square, and perhaps even be permitted to utter the name of the Diety?

I call it Pay to Pray.

  25. @John the Econ- I echo your prayers, but I'm sure that Obama is happier sticking to the shadows while others do his dirty work.

@Pryorguy- It really does seem like things are reaching a fever pitch. Obama has gotten away with so much for so long that it barely seems like he's even trying to give the impression that he cares about the Constitution.

@Coon Tasty- D'oh! That's right! If The Crapture is the opposite of The Rapture, we'd be getting worthless ratbags dropped on us. And lo, here they are - and their name is Legion.

@Bob Mack- Thank you, sir. It makes for a pleasing mental image if I say so myself.

  26. @Quite Rightly- "Pay to Pray" is very catchy...I just hope it doesn't give the Bamster an idea for a new form of taxation.

  27. Stilt - @Tea Party
I think it's not the primaries so much as the weather. I (fondly) recall seeing the hotties starting on their tans around Valentines Day, but that was when I was living in College Station, and if you didn't tan, you spent six months hiding from that killer nuclear furnace in the sky. For most of the rest of us, April 15 is a MUCH more 'rational' start to 'Tea Season'...

Coon - Detroit has DEFINITELY been hit w/ the Crapture. Can you EVEN believe it was USA winning bid for the '68 Olympics? Of course, given what happened here in '67, Mexico's getting the nod might have been a GOOD thing. Then again, w/ the prospect of the Olympics coming, things might have been different here, then, too... Who knows, playing 'what if' gets pretty silly pretty fast, and 'what is' ain't 'silly' at ALL.

  28. Speaking of the primaries...

Seems the MSM is pounding hard on how divided the Republicans are; you know if we don't pick a candidate soon, all will be lost for us!

I'm a little sick of hearing it to be honest. I can't speak for anybody but me, but I would be glad to vote for ANY of our candidates, and when that candidate is finally picked, I will back them with all I have. Sure, I might prefer one over the other, but compared to BO, they are all fantastic. Stilton is right; the Tea Party is not even close to "kicking in" yet. When we are down to one candidate, watch out.

So, MSM.... shut your big fat mouths and let ME decide if I'm confused and lost.

  30. Actually, Lot's wife was turned to a pillar of salt when she looked back on Sodom and Gomorrah as they were fleeing their destruction, so a salty Øbama at his desk with feet up is not quite apropos. He would have to be coated in burning sulfur for the simile to really work a treat (which, notably, works pretty will with the comparison to Satan made earlier)...

And I agree with the MSM that this primary season is detrimental in that (a)they're consuming their funds while infighting and (b)giving the enemy camp PLENTY of ammunition.

I would have personally liked to be down to, at most, two candidates by now, but the underdogs are clinging to the race like a surprised squirrel stuck on the face of an equally surprised biker - if early numbers are any indication (which, I guess, they're not), you can stick a fork in Ron Paul - he's done. Newt, too.

This prolonged battle does make me a bit nervous, but, frankly, I'm not enamored with ANY of the Republican offerings. I will, of course, vote for whomever they eventually run to defeat Øbama as it's better by far to have a squishy-RINO in office than a socialist-communist bent on "fundamentally transforming" our nation. I just hope the desire for, and pursuit of perfection doesn't cost us the whole.

  31. @Pete(Detroit)- You're right, April 15 is a natural date for the Tea Party to emerge again. Except that's really not an apt way to put it: I don't think the Tea Party has gone anywhere or been inactive. Rather we're simply biding time until we see where we'll need to focus our attentions. Personally, I feel like an eager horse in the gate before a race - can't wait for the main event!

@Colby- MSM "news" about divided Republicans is meaningless and untrue background noise intended to dispirit us - and it will get worse. I don't believe it for a nanosecond. "Anyone But Obama" is going to get massive support. And in my own case, I'm eager to send a campaign donation to our eventual candidate. I think the day our nominee is finalized, you're going to see fiscal floodgates open.

@Emmentaler- If I mentioned coating the Bamster with burning sulfur (Heaven forbid!) I would expect an unpleasant visit from the Secret Service. But until someone other than God can turn someone into a pillar of salt, I think I'm on safe ground.

And as I said before, I'll wholeheartedly get behind whichever candidate is running against Obama. Not just because that candidate isn't Obama, but because all four have qualities which I like.
