  2. Which came first - the chocolate Easter bunny or the chocolate egg?

Happy Easter to all, and to all a good night!

    Oh, wait...

  3. Your cartoon reminded me of an "Uncle Arthur" story about the selfish boy who always took the biggest and the best. One day his aunt sabotaged the dinner and everything he grabbed was rotten or bad tasting. It finished with him taking the biggest piece of chocolate and it was bitter and had no sugar. It was an old-fashioned teaching moment. But that was back in the 50's when there were consequences to actions.

  4. Earl; Consequences still exist they just aren't as immediate as they were "back in the day". Gratification, however, is expected to be IMMMEDIATE and ongoing.

  5. I like the picture. The "New Hope" ( a false one) contrasted to the true Eternal Hope. God bless you all.

I just turned on the radio; obama has just resigned!!!

    April fool....

Hope all is a well as could be expected, Dr. J. And don't worry about posting unless you really feel like it and want to... and short ones are good too. Buck ofama says a lot!

  8. For an agnostic, you sure know a thing or two about truth!
Prayers and blessings to you and yours, Doctor.

  9. Happy Easter to you all ...

and now, this being National Politicians Days ... well, they tried to rename it, we go by the old name "April Fools" -- but still, let us celebrate by putting all the politicos on a merry go round and spin it really fast -- and see who can hang on the longest. And who knows how much much change centrifugal force will spit out of their pockets!

By the way, I've announced the creation of The Gay Republic in northwest Mexico -- it'll solve so many problems -- well, I posted the announcement at my blog -- and well, now I can finally grow up to be president!

    Cheers and merry to all....

  14. Not really on topic, but ...

In the title "Hope n' Change", shouldn't the apostrophe (grammatically speaking) be placed before the lowercase "n", NOT after it?

    Just sayin' ...

  15. @Pete,
A word of advice from someone with experience in these matters... don't quit your day job just yet. And I still have not made the connection between bunnies and eggs. I guess the small, round things that real bunnies leave behind aren't all that appetizing or something.

    @TheBigHenry,
Actually (not to be a know it all), there should be an apostrophe for each missing letter, so it would be Hope 'n' Change. This means those of us who can't bear to type the name that Crap Weasel is currently calling himself could just substitute '. Fitting that a missing president should be represented by an apostrophe.

  16. @Readers- Enjoyable comments as always!

@Earl- Hey, I love the Uncle Arthur stories! They're actually great morality tales in sort of a creepy, twilight-zone way. I think the book should still be taught in schools.

@Gang of One- I'm not religious at all (not even quite an agnostic), and yet I think the church is the biggest organizing principle for good and morality in the world. As such, I celebrate religious holidays (well, not Ramadan) and am a fierce advocate of religious freedom.

@Jim Hlavac- Congratulations on creating The Gay Republic of Northwest Mexico. I'm sure the flag will be fabulous! (grin)

@The Big Henry- I played with "Hope 'n Change, and "Hope 'n' Change," and "Hope'n'Change," and none of them looked right. So I'm surely breaking a rule or three of grammar, but still like the current idiosyncratic spelling.

@Colby- Okay, now you've got me thinking that Hope'n'Change looks good - but I'll be darned if I'm going to go back and change the headers on 4+ years of cartoons!

  17. @Stilton & The BigHenry ~ All these symantics are way over my head but they make me want to go make some Hoppin Joe. :)

  18. @CenTexTim -- thank you for your submission. As chairman of the committee I must reject it. I mean, 3 Caballeros? No, while we in the Republic are in disagreement yet, something with just two caballeros, and a tad more, um, militant would be better, we think. Or maybe the Ode to Joy. Yours, Jim.

  19. @Stilton Jarlsberg:

No biggie, obviously. I just can't help noticing stuff like that. Could be I'm just a tad anal retentive ...

    :)

  20. BTW, in case it wasn't made clear by my previous comment, I'm a big fan!

Sorry to hear that family issues are precluding your continued excellence in exposing the Poser-in-Chief! Hope your personal issues get resolved in your favor. Soon!

If you do manage to get back in full stride, I humbly suggest a new theme for your excellent series: Something along the lines of

"How's that Hopey-Dopey horseshit working for your?"

    Best wishes,
    TheBigHenry
