Not So Safe Space
This pretty much captures how we're feeling today. We know we're supposed to be reporting on Trump's alleged victims of gropery and Hillary's latest laundry list of felonies, criminal conspiracies, racial and religious slurs, and general bitchery - but we decided to give ALL of us a break today and take Friday off.
As usual, we encourage folks who want snappy news and commentary today to visit our good friends at The Daily Gouge.
Meanwhile here at HnC, the comments section is open and we wish everyone a great weekend!

LMAO and you call that a break?
ReplyDeleteI don't care what your political affiliation is - this cartoon will appeal to all.
ReplyDeleteYou got a window in your cell? Lucky dog.
ReplyDeleteYou can recycle that cartoon after the election when les deplorables are languishing in the retraining facilities.
ReplyDeleteDeplorable Donald is on the cusp of a very bad weekend, and rumor has it that Hillary's 33,000 missing emails are about to get dumped. And it won't make a wit of difference. The GOP's fatal mistake was always irredeemable, and the hard evidence of the Clinton's money laundering op only confirms what pretty much everybody already knows.
ReplyDeleteThe GOP should have walked away with the election if they had only nominated a decent human being. But as I have been saying for some time, even that is doubtful, because at the end of the day, it really comes down to the fact that for well over a decade now, over 51% of the electorate now gets some sort of check, subsidy, or other favor from the Federal government, and they'll vote to keep it that way. That means pre-assigned candidate, Hillary Clinton.
So, I think we're at the point now where we need to start looking at the upsides of 4 or more years of Hillary.
A) If you've got money, then it looks pretty good for you, for awhile anyway. The Clintons like money, so will always favor moneyed interests, which is good news for Wall Street. Hillary is a "corporatist", a close cousin of fascism.
B) If you're in a "rent seeking" profession, (lawyers, financial services, "compliance" industry, consulting, etc) you should do very well. People in group A will be needing allot of your services in order to safely stay in group A.
C) Tired of your out-of-pocket health care costs? "Single Payer" is on it's way. The ultimate goal of ObamaCare; the complete collapse of the private health insurance, care and pharmaceutical industries will be coming in short order. Of course, what will replace it all will be worse, but at least the out-of-pocket aspects of it will be well hidden from you.
D) The complete destruction of the Democratic Party as you thought you knew it. The left and media have taken great glee over the last year and a half documenting the self-immolation of the GOP. But the reality is that the GOP pretty much destroyed what was worthwhile about itself a decade and a half ago, when it allowed the growth of the post-911 Federal government to get completely out of control. What the left and media haven't noticed or are interested in talking about is what has happened to itself. Since the first Clinton administration, the former party of FDR has been completely transformed into the party of the mega-wealthy and the poor, and now exclusively encompasses everything evil that they've said about the GOP for generations. The Podesta emails further illustrate the contempt that the Democrat elite have for pretty much everybody that isn't a white, rich, secular Northeastern Progressive.
And finally,
ReplyDeleteE) We're on the cusp of a major disintegration and rebirth of both political parties in America. With the post-Trump GOP disintegrated, and the majority of Democrats waking up to the fact that just like Bernie's kids, they've been used and are in fact going to be just as much victims of the Democratic elite/Clinton crime syndicate as non-Democrats.
This will get kicked off after the very short Hillary honeymoon is over, and it becomes clear that Hillary can not or will not deliver on most of her promises. Anyone remember that just months after taking office in '93, Bill Clinton apologizing to the nation for being unable to deliver the "middle class tax cut" he promised during his campaign? It was all downhill from there. Except Hillary who doesn't really do apologies, and will blame the GOP instead. But at that point, I don't think people will care.
On top of that, proposals for a VAT and "imputed income" taxes will return, and will be necessary to pay for what Hillary has promised. But enough people will figure out that a VAT and "imputed income" taxes will affect the poor and middle class far more that it will the "rich".
And the best part is that the favored Democratic identity constituencies will discover that they're not at war with the former GOP, but are actually at war with each other. Women and the LGBTQWERY groups will realize that mass immigration of non-assimilating cultures from the south and east are very hostile to their way of life. More Blacks will figure out that their future looks more dim with more poor people competing for both low-skilled jobs and welfare. And as our universities become just as dysfunctional as our public largely are, they're not going to be as happy either. As the middle class continues to sink while the government class thrives despite their abject incompetence, more people will question the wisdom of turning their lives over to "big government".
We may finally be getting that "change" everyone talked about 8 years ago. It's not just the change they thought it would be.
@Readers- Glad you liked the cartoon. I think we can all identify with those guys in the dungeon right now, willing to live on tepid water and moldy bread crusts if it means we can stop hearing about the election.
ReplyDelete@John the Econ- Outstanding (and depressing!) analysis. I do think that a president Hillary would be good for the stock market and for those who have a lot of money - because those same entities have bought and paid for her services. Everyone else will suffer, and mightily.
While I think it's clear that the GOP is going to have a major reorganization (largely indistinguishable from death throes), I'll have to think about how much of a shake up I expect from the Dems. Your logic is flawless, but those on the Left seem to have a great ability to disregard logic and facts when assigning their loyalty. In part, because they're idiots.
I see that Killery has jumped on the bandwagon with her allegations of trump "stalking" her on the ellen degenerate show.
ReplyDeleteThere appears to be a political "revolution" coming in this country, and with the way some members of both parties are intentionally screwing over the average American citizen I am afraid we may soon see the results of a quote to this effect that I remember by John F. Kennedy, "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable."
Clintoon and her ilk are doing everything they can to prevent, or derail the peaceful political "revolution" via the ballot box that appears to be coming.
Oh, and I forgot...
ReplyDeleteF) As the most hated-from-the-beginning elected President in history, Hillary will have absolutely NO mandate. Remember, after Reagan's landslides, the Democrats had no choice but to work with him. Not so with the first congress poised against Hillary. At least Bill Clinton was charming (to some) and relatively popular. Most of the pro-Hillary vote isn't pro-Hillary at all, but is actually an anti-Trump vote. Most of those people (the silent Democrat majority) don't really want what Hillary is selling. They just think that Trump is a miserable human being. They'll be letting their congressional representatives know that. After all, this is the way that the Democrats lost their 40-year lock on Congress in '94.
@Stilton, I think we'll be shocked by the coming implosion of the Democrat Party. After the dust of the election settles, there will still be the stench of all of the corruption leading up to it, and the now naked contempt that the power behind the party has for almost all of it's supposedly sacred groups. Bernie's kids, who got their "free education" sooner than expected will not be supporting the party in the mid-terms, and will be shopping elsewhere, especially when they find out that they'll be in their '40s before Hillary gets around to offering them their free college, and will only end up getting stuck with the bill. (The part of "socialism" that was definitely lacking from both Bernie & HIllary's rhetoric)
Meanwhile, attacks from the "religion of peace" will continue to be a weekly event and "the new normal". And officialdom's continued efforts to reclassify most of them as anything but terrorism will continue to make the general public more cynical.
Of course, without a cooperative congress, Hillary will attempt to continue Obama's "phone & pen" approach. But if we've learned anything over the last year, America is far more comfortable with cries of "sexism" over cries of "racism". He's going to have a rougher time with that approach than Obama did.
@John I love that you said "He" in your final statement when referencing Hillary.
ReplyDeleteMrs. SoCal and I knew this shitstorm of anti Trump stories would come shortly before the last debate or election, but this 'Hurricanus Defecatus' is just too extreme to believe. The Clinton's hate losing elections almost as much as the like losing e-mails and paper records. And for the uninformed sheeple of the left, it does not matter the story is right or wrong; they won't fact check it, and believe it because 'Occupy Democrats' posted it, or a liberal politician/famous actor said it was so. If wiki posted a video of Crookery pumping two bullets into Vice Fosters head, the left would proclaim what a hero she was for helping Vince reduce his 'Increased Intracranial Pressure' that was causing his headaches.
ReplyDeleteMy only hope at this point, is that before 8 November, Screechery gets sentenced to Federal Prison, and Trump gets removed from the ballot, so maybe we can start over and have a fairly 'normal' election. Every one have a great weekend, I'll be on vacation in a handle of Fireball.
I would not be putting any trust in.any currently available fact checkers. They have all jumped the shark and the public is waking up to what.we.have been telling them for years.
ReplyDelete@REM1875- I found a particularly groan-worthy example of "fact checking" online this morning. An outlet looked at Trump's statement that Hillary laughed at a 12-year old rape victim, whose attacker she got off with a light sentence. The outlet labeled this as FALSE...because (if you read far enough into their explanation) upon listening to the tape of Hillary, they said she didn't laugh but merely "chortled."
ReplyDeleteAnd as Dave Barry would say, no - I'm not making this up.
@John the Econ. And I liked: "Bernie's kids, who got their "free education" sooner than expected... " You rite good.
ReplyDeleteFortunately, those totally non-partisan people at Google will take over the task for us all:
ReplyDeleteGoogle News launches fact check label
It will be the quickest, easiest way to confirm what Progressives want you to believe.
@Rod, I wish I could take credit for coming up with that, but I'm pretty sure I've seen it elsewhere. But it's a pretty obvious meme, if you ask me.
