Greece Up

Click Cartoon for Larger Size
In the midst of a catastrophic financial breakdown, Greece has decided to take Barack Obama's longtime advice and blame America first. They feel that their debt-based economy wouldn't have collapsed if U.S. financial institutions, led by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, hadn't similarly tanked. And so they're considering fighting it out in the courts. Which basically puts American taxpayers in the docket.

And the Greeks can probably make a pretty decent case. Despite the recent Congressional push for financial regulatory reform in the U.S., Democrats were careful to make sure that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, largely guided by Barney Frank and Chris Dodd, would remain completely unencumbered to continue their horrendous business practices. In fact, government-owned Fannie Mae lost another $13 billion in just the first quarter of this year...with the money to come from our already struggling economy.

There's an old joke that asks "How do they separate the men from the boys in Greece?" The answer is "with a crowbar." It seems more likely every day that they'll need to use the same tool to separate Democrats from taxpayers.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

  2. "Cactus"- We find it hard to believe, too. He always presents himself in such a strong, totally masculine way. And when it comes to financial matters, no one keeps a closer eye on the bottom line. If you know what we mean.

  3. But what is there to fight about? The Won(tm) has already promised all of Europe all the money it wants, just as fast as we can print it.

Actually, to be so gay, Barney never looks very happy. That is one of the queer consequences of being gay.

  4. Thought for the day.

Some people have the vocabulary to sum up things in a way you can understand them. This quote came from the Czech Republic. Someone over there has it figured out. We have a lot of work to do.

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president."

"The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince.

"The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president."

  5. Anonymous- That's probably the most accurate, and therefore most frightening, statement we've heard in a long time.

  6. People get the government(s) they deserve as someone smarter than me once said. Of course, if you are either a conspiracy buff or just an observer of recent history, you have to wonder if we the peebles aren't getting the government that is being crafted either intentionally or just through a coincidence of overlapping goals, by liberals in all areas of government, plus all sorts of unions and most especially by our educational establishment. Every time there is an "incident" in a public school or any of the colleges, somewhere in the midst of it is a teacher/professor pushing a liberal/socialist/communist agenda or simply a wildly leftist ideology. How those folks came to be the dominant political force within the education establishment mystifies me, but more of concern is that now that there are so many of them, and they are the ones teaching out nextgen how to think, (OR just to accept the group view without the need to think) we are going to see more and more new voters coming to the polls who have been brainwashed to the point of idiocy. I'm reminded of poor old Joe McCarthy who basically got run out of politics for "finding a communist under every bed" back when I was a kid. Poor Joe was probably the only politician this century who was right about the Fifth Column quietly infiltrating our institutions. He actually did get a few Hollywood types, and a few lower echelon government infiltrators. Too bad he never had the chance to interrogate the Dons of the Ivy League. With so much of the populace tipping left, and 20 million or so illegals poised to be given amnesty along with their "Welcome to the Democratic Party and free healthcare for life" papers,I'm thinking the America I love is about to die, so I'm looking at Canadian real estate now. The one great experiment in Democracy has fallen victim to the infiltrators, the useful idiots they've co-opted, and the failure of the rest of us to stamp these cockroaches out like the swarming pests that they really are. Buncha pod people sucking the life out of the whole country.
