Double Jump
Exactly one year ago, Major Nidal Malik Hasan shouted "Allahu Akbar!" and used a laser-sighted pistol to methodically murder 13 soldiers at Fort Hood and wound over a dozen others before he was felled by law enforcement officers.
Despite the fact that Hasan had spoken repeatedly - and favorably - about Muslim suicide attacks within the US military, the president insisted that the American people shouldn't "jump to conclusions" about his motivation. And even now, a full year later, the official government report on the massacre refuses to even mention "radical Islam" as a possible cause.
Which seems to make it rather insulting that Barack Obama is "jumping to conclusions" and treating the host countries on his Asian getaway as if they are dens of terrorist activity. The trip is estimated to cost taxpayers as much as $200 million per day, owing largely to the amount of security the president seems to believe he needs to protect him from people of different races and faiths.
We could go on and on about this president's hypocrisy...but instead, Hope n' Change simply asks you to take a moment today to think about the fallen and families of Fort Hood. And to remember that it was, and is, real blood that stains the altar of political correctness.

Still Some Bugs in the System
Even though it makes our skin crawl to talk about it, there are already skittering sounds coming from the smoldering ruins of the Democratic party...because Harry Reid survived politically.
The Senate Majority leader, wriggling his antennae angrily, has announced that "Republicans must take their responsibility to solve the problems of ordinary Americans" instead of "simply saying No."
Although when ordinary Americans' problem is big government, "no" seems to be the answer they resoundingly voted for.
Busily nibbling a crumb of something he found on the floor, Reid grumbled that if Republicans are "unwilling to work with us, there's nothing we can do about that." Not exactly the most promising words to suggest that we'll be seeing a new spirit of cooperation in Washington.
Although it's possible Mr. Reid had more conciliatory remarks prepared for his statement...but unfortunately his news conference ended suddenly when someone turned on the kitchen light and he skittered back into the shadows.

Hard of Hearing
Following Tuesday's massive electoral rejection of Barack Obama's policies, the alleged president conducted a news conference to acknowledge that the voters had spoken...but, well, he isn't actually listening.
To hear him tell it, the big message voters were sending was "you need to move your agenda ahead faster." Ummm, no.
Obama conceded that some people may have felt that he didn't do enough to enact his promise to "change how things are done in Washington" because, in his rush to enact Obamacare, he didn't change how things were done. And although he promised to eliminate earmarks, he admits that he signed lots of bills with huge earmarks because he "had to."
In other words, judging him on his deeds instead of his words gives people the wrong impression.
For instance, the president says that he's going to crack down on spending and deficits, and is going to discuss it with newly-empowered Republicans in a meaningful way "in a few weeks"... after he returns from his $200 million a day "Avoid The American Press" overseas tour which is starting immediately.
In other words, Mr. Hope and Change has no intention of changing just because of the hopes, and votes, of millions of frustrated Americans.

Reality Checkmate
A long time ago, a wise man said "the time has come to set aside childish things."
Well actually, it wasn't all that long ago...it was January 20, 2009. And the man wasn't all that wise either, because these words were spoken by Barack Obama in his inaugural address.
At the time, he was referring to "childish things" like believing that the unborn have a right to life, or thinking that actual evidence was necessary to believe in global warming. And in the place of these "childish things", the new president promised unicorns and rainbows, world peace, full employment, free healthcare, free pie and, best of all, free Obama-money!
But none of it happened. And voters eventually realized that the genuinely "childish thing" had been electing a fast-talking Prince Charming who promised them a "happily ever after" when we live in a real world, with real problems, requiring real solutions.
Which is why on Election Day, 2010, Americans sent a resounding, historic, and unmistakable message to Barack Hussein Obama. And the unicorn he rode in on.

BULLETIN: ELECTION NIGHT UPDATE!
THIS JUST IN! MSNBC's Chris Matthews voices his feelings about the overwhelming defeat of Democrats who had aligned themselves with Barack Obama!
Serfs Up
Not long ago, a smug Barack Obama falsely promised voters "If you like your plan, you can keep it. End of sentence. Case closed."
But today is the day that voters finally get the chance to tell Obama and the Democrats exactly what they can do with their plans. End of sentence. Case closed.
We genuinely believe that today could be a day of miracles - and not just the usual election day "miracles" in which Democrats find ways to make the lame walk (to the polls), the blind see ("Here, let me touch the screen for you"), and the dead rise (via absentee ballots).
This could be the start - and admittedly only the start - of a real longterm movement to save this country and restore it to greatness.
If you haven't voted yet, please get out and do it! Don't rely on others to do the work, or become overconfident about a "sure win." The political world will be watching to see the actual numbers that come in...and full voter participation is the only way to make sure the conservative message to politicians in both parties is heard loud and clear.

Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas
Here at Hope n' Change, we love Christmas Eve. The excitement, the decorations, the expectations, and the knowledge that something magical is about to happen. Oh, sweet suspense!
And that's pretty much how we're feeling today. Filled with the joyful spirit of Election Day, but wishing that it would just get here!
The Republicans and Democrats have already said and done everything they can in order to plead their final cases for having been "naughty or nice," and can now do nothing but wait to see which list they've ended up on.
And while we don't want to be overconfident, we're guessing that tomorrow, the former Illinois senator who was best known for voting "present" won't be getting one.
So let us all give thanks that our founding fathers wrote free elections into law. Because yes, Virginia - that is our sanity clause.

Night of the Living Dems
When you open your door this Halloween and see a terrifying ghost, ghoul, or zombie begging for a treat, it might be a trick-or-treater...or might simply be a Democrat trying to scare up the last few votes before election day.
By all accounts, Tuesday is going to be the scariest day of the year for Democrats, who have been so engrossed in their monstrous work at forbidding castles and secret laboratories that they've only recently caught on to the fact that the peasants are angrily heading to the polls with torches and pitchforks.
Hope n' Change would like to wish everyone a very happy Halloween...and remind Democrats not to eat all your candy at once. Last time (specifically in 2008), you enjoyed the initial sugar rush but then it made you sick.
Along with everyone else.
