Vice President Chain-y

If Atticus Finch saw Joe Biden stumbling up the street, foaming at the mouth, snarling and wild-eyed, he'd firmly tell his children to go in the house while he (ahem) took care of the problem. Because Uncle Joe is, at this point, barking mad.

How else to explain his campaign speech yesterday in Virginia in which he told a racially mixed audience that it is Mitt Romney's goal to "put y'all back in chains"?

He did not, however, specify whether the audience members would be shackled before or after Romney gave them all cancer and Ryan killed their elderly parents.

Sigh...

We expect the worst from Democrats, and expect sheer lunacy from Joe Biden - but is there really nothing off limits for these angry, despicable liars? For awhile, the ugliness coming out of their mouths was almost funny in an appalling way, like a drunken college freshman upchucking beer at a frat party.

But the Democrats' four-year toga party is over. It's "the morning after in America."

And the sight of Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and the liberal left passed out in their own rhetorical vomit is both sad and disgusting.

Swing low, sweet chariot, and carry these jokers out of Washington.

You hit the nail on the head, because besides being almost funny, BO and co. have about as much common sense as the drunken freshman.

You already know the answer to your question, Stilton. Nothing is off-limits to the Dems. There is no depth they won't plumb. There is no nasty they won't embrace. This is the stuff of desperation and desperation can drive weak men to do terrible things. The drunken freshman man be humorous in a way, but what if he's psychotic and unhinged and the most powerful person on the planet?

Hey, Joe-I think you need a little history lesson. It was the Democrats who started the KKK, who enacted Jim Crow laws, who resisted civil liberties legislation. Remember your ol' buddy Robert "Sheets" Byrd? He wasn't just in the Klan; he was an active recruiter-while he was a congressman! How about Abe Lincoln, who was willing to go war with his own country to put an end to slavery-yeah, he was a Republican! The GOP may have a lot of faults, some real, most not. But racism is NOT one of them.

TrickyRicky said...

Honestly Stilton, this may be your best post ever. And that's saying a lot. Unfortunately, that's not only a testimony to your skills, but to the gag inducing depths to which the administration and their minions have descended.

The sad truth, of course, is that the Democrats long ago put the shackles back on their voting blocs, through institutionalising welfare dependence.
Not only that, but they made it seem like welfare dependence was a valid lifestyle choice that one needn't be ashamed of.

I have to say I'm loving it. The Obama campaign has absolutely nothing they can trumpet as an achievement. And the "I inherited this mess" meme is worn out.

And Biden is the gift that keeps on giving. Quite frankly, I'm surprised that I even saw the Biden clip on the networks this morning. I'd assume that they Obamamedia would simply ignore him out of sheer embarrassment. Even they know that they can't ignore this stuff anymore.

And Obama (who apparently used to eat dogs) keeps bringing up the Romney vacation story. That's it. That's all they've got.

And to the black community that the Democrats still take for granted: Do you get it yet? The chains you think you wear are not from the GOP. It's your masters in the liberal establishment that assume you are all illiterate idiots. And by continuing to vote for these boobs, you only confirm their opinion of you!

Perhaps HRH Barry has has told Joe to "Just go out there and wing it; say whatever pops into your head." Then he told the MSM to publish ANYTHING ol' Joe says, no matter how crazy. What better way to set Biden up for replacement.

What's really sad is I can really see this as just a slip of Slo-Joe's tongue. He was talking about banks being unchained, and just took the metaphor too far. I can honestly believe it was innocent on Biden's part.

However, I also know, for a drop-dead fact, that had someone with a party affiliation with 'R' after the name wouldn't have gotten the pass Biden did, either.

I'm more mad at the Media and the Dems in general than poor, dimwitted Slo-Joe. No way a Republican gets a pass on something like this.

Racism is alive and well in America, and it's the Left doing their damndest to fan the flames and keep it alive.

When (and I pray it's when and not if) Obama loses in November, bank on hearing stories about the racists in America. Nevermind that, if there was such racism, the Composite President would never have been elected in the first place.

I know Dems have always had the Black vote sewn up, but it would be nice if they did something to EARN that loyalty, and not, say, snubbing the NAACP, or letting Slo-Joe make a deplorable (if, again, I think an honest mistake) comment and not apologizing.

An apology, a sense of decency, could net the Dems so much -- and we see them just dig their heels in and double down instead.

Thanks for the cartoon! And I concur with the others so far, would love to see the Matthews cartoon!

OT, just read a report that it wasn't the Weather Service that ordered 25K of .40 Jacketed Hollow Points but the Fisheries department - guess they were worried about all those attack bass. Seriously, their published rational was they need them for target practice, really? Yo - you use Ball Full Metal Jackets for target practice - much, much cheaper. JHP's are used to prevent jamming in the mag feed and have only one purpose - to kill people primarily from the hydro-static shock. But...Oh Look, a squirrel!

@Earl Allison, of course Biden is given a pass. His whole tenure in public life has been predicated on the premise that Democrats are entitled to a pass that would condemn anyone to the right.

A great piece on the topic of the double standard for liberals: http://pjmedia.com/victordavishanson/our-not-so-best-and-not-so-brightest/?singlepage=true

Conservatives need to understand that as unfair as it may seem, they must live up to a higher standard. Let us let the liberals like Biden, Obama, Spitzer, Warren, Zakaria, et al own the gutter, and live up to a higher standard; not just because we're better than they are, but just because we should as a matter of course.

My Dog Brewski said...

@drjim- At least drunks sober up the next day. Biden is stuck on stupid 24/7.

@REM1875- Especially because the miners actually cared if the canaries died.

@Angry Hoosier Dad- You've seized the very essence of what's making me so angry. These ARE the most powerful men on the planet, and when they show themselves to be mean-spirited liars who care only about power and nothing about people or principle, then we're all in terrible trouble.

@The Digital Hairshirt- Thanks for the share (and for reaffirming my hope that people would understand the reference to "To Kill a Mockingbird.")

@Angry Hoosier Dad- Too subtle?

@FlyBoy- Great condensed version of actual history. The question is whether Joe doesn't know all of this, or whether he chooses to ignore it in his effort to keep black Americans on the Liberal plantation. Personally, I think it's the latter.

@TrickyRicky- Thank you. The commentary was impassioned (and not exactly subtle) because I get angrier and angrier about what these people are doing to my country. I think it's their goal to win the election at any cost...or cause irreparable damage to the country on their way out.

@Coon Tasty- Well said. The Democrats believe they own black Americans, and not in a metaphorical sense. It breaks my heart to think of the black children who are born into broken families, sent to "schools" that are little more than dangerous warehouses, and raised in slum conditions all to assure that their hopelessness will translate into Democrat votes. In this regard, Barack Obama is certainly the most anti-black president in modern times.

@John the Econ- I'm positively aglow with the quote from Romney that Obama should "take (his) campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago." I'm sick of mealy-mouthed euphemisms, and delighted that Mitt is throwing genteel tact to the wind. It's high time.

@Colby- If the "chains" comment gets the traction that "you didn't build that" got, then you can expect Joe to come down with a severe case of Dropsy which will lead to his replacement. Specifically, he'll be Dropsied like a hot potato.

@Earl Allison- I think Joe ad-libbed the line about putting blacks in chains, but it accurately shows how his mind works. Or perhaps more accurately, doesn't work sufficiently for him to be one heartbeat away from the presidency. But make no mistake, the Obama administration is doing everything possible to inject accusations of racism into this contest. Why else send Eric Holder on a "Jim Crow" tour of the states? Why else would Obama suggest that he differs from Romney in want opportunity for everyone, no matter what they look like? And the media eagerly plays along, attacking Paul Ryan for being (gasp!) a "white guy."

@Emmentaler- Liberalism is a form of mental illness, and it will only be cured when doctors are able to perform the opposite of a lobotomy.

@Sea Dog- I also saw that it was the Fisheries department was ordering hollow point ammo to do target practice and keep fish in line. I would try to believe that the ammo could be used against bad guys trafficking in drugs or humans, but I think government policy is to only give our officers bean bag loads in those cases.

@Coon Tasty- But would that be the lesser evil? (grin)

@John the Econ- Conservatives need to accept the double-standard as a fact of life and deal with it (and at the moment, they're doing a good job of it).

@My Dog Brewski- I agree that the aggressor sets the rules of engagement, but when they lure us onto their playing field we need to be hyper-aware of traps.

@SeaDog- That's funny! Readers, it's a link to the new Michelle Obama "McDonald's Angry Meal."

@Comanche Voter- It does seem like our governance increasing comes from Delta House, doesn't it?

I went through all that so you could be free."

Powerful message right there.

One really does have to wonder if obama will stick with Old Black Joe, or even if it is out of obama's hands at this point. The socialist club that is commonly referred to as "The DNC" is no doubt frantically looking for ways to let him go without seeming like they are throwing him under the bus for political reasons. And would Joe go quietly? Probably so, provided he was offered enough money. Then again, he may just be stupid enough to raise a big stink and blow it for everybody with a D after their name.

But, in the meantime... as long as we have Joe giving us these wonderful gifts, let's use them to the full extent.

I wonder that anyone else making such a stone stupid statement like good ol' Joe made would at least try and mitigate what they said. If not at the time, at least in a follow up interview explaining they made a misstatement.

To be honest I doubt Joe gave a single thought to what was said on the ride home, other than he did good, and said all the words on the little teevee like his boss Barry asked him to.

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@Colby- If I was a betting man, I'd wager that Joe won't be on the ticket and Hillary will. Barry needs to energize his campaign, and he's not going to get there by preaching to the unwashed that Romney and Ryan are serial killers.

@SeaDog- Frankly I'm surprised that Uncle Joe didn't say we should take the lead in the manufacture of horseless carriages.

Per your link, it turns out that Obama wasn't really in favor of debt reduction. Not exactly a surprise to any of us, but apparently it came as a shock to Erskine Bowles.

@PRY- Biden's Tourette's-like idiocy is amusing until we remember that he's a heartbeat away from the presidency. He could become the most powerful idiot in history, and that's scary.

@Red- I'm old enough to remember when black Americans made better choices because there weren't government giveaways. The sad celebration of "Gangsta" life is a direct reflection of the lack of choices the Libs allow blacks to have.

@badlarry- The Huffington Post characterized Joe Biden's statement as "Bold." Not ugly, not condescending, not insulting, and not racially inflammatory. Nope - it was "bold." And I'm sure many other alleged news outlets were just as complimentary. So Joe is probably perfectly happy, and Barry probably slipped a cookie into his mouth as a reward for a job well done.

Angry Hoosier Dad said...

@ Stilton:
I don't see what Hillary could do for Obama that Biden can't. She's not nearly as funny as Joe and Obama already has the shrill, harping, lesbians-with-cankles constituency sewed up. The only difference is that, with Hillary, we'd have two blatant socialists on the ticket instead of one. I don't think Slow Joe is a socialist, or maybe he just hasn't gotten to that in his word-a-day calendar.

Earl Allison said...

I can't see Obama taking Hillary as his VP for two reasons;

One, Sarah Palin just made the same recommendation. How would it look for him to even APPEAR to be taking Palin's advice? He's too thin-skinned to put up with even the implication that the idea wasn't his and always his.

Two, I'd wager even if the Clintons could get over the bad blood of Obama slinging the race card at Hillary during the 2008 campaign, that woman will be eyeing the throne of the Presidency with a measured gaze. I don't think the Clintons really forgive OR forget.

I saw the Post's 'BOLD" comment. Why do I know that, had it been Ryan making the same comment Slo-Joe did, he would have been consumed in a media firestorm?

Oh, right, because if not for double standards, Liberals would have no standards at all :)

Thanks for posting!

Pete(Detroit) said...

Hillary as VP would ensure a VERY short 2nd term, I'm sure. *I* would like Barry to live long and wither, but the likes of Vince Foster, Ron Brown suggest that might not be in the cards. Just sayin'...

My Dog Brewski said...

I'm not sure I know how to respond to your last post. To suggest that Hillary or Bill Clinton killed Ron Brown and/or Vince Foster is absolutely beyond the pale. Pete (Detroit) said...

Agreed, suggesting that the Clintons killed killed anyone themselves WOULD be foolish. Just pointing out that 'inconvenient' folks tend to have accidents, that's all.
After all, we KNOW Foster was a suicide...

Sparky said...

Joe Biden's not called Number 2 for no reason ... [wink]

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@Angry Hoosier Dad- I agree with your reasoning, but think that a Hillary pick (which the Whitehouse is denying at this point) would use up a lot of the oxygen in the news cycles. There'd be no time to review Obama's failures, or Romney/Ryan's goals. And I think those sorts of distractions are what the Obama campaign is depending on now.

@Earl Allison- My best guess is that the Clintons and Obamas hate each other... but each is low enough to use the other if they believed it to be to their advantage.

And Huffpo is an insult. I have an AOL account and wince every time I go to check email over there because I know I'm going to be seeing such skewed and biased headlines. Today they had "MITT ROMNEY GIVEN CEASE AND DESIST ORDER!" Wow, it must be a bigtime criminal offense, right? Nope. His campaign was playing a rock song at rallies - and paying the appropriate license fee - but the band said they didn't want him to use it anymore. Legally, they don't have a leg to stand on (I know a little something about licensing issues) - but Huffpo made it look like Romney was engaged in wrongdoing instead of a nitwit unknown band trying to gin up some publicity.

@Pete(Detroit)- If Hillary was veep, you can bet that Bo the Whitehouse dog would be drafted into tasting all of Barry's food.

@My Dog Brewski- It's really all about knowing people who are good at shovel-ready jobs.

@Pete(Detroit)- Foster clearly shot himself with a gun he didn't own in the middle of a park he didn't walk in (no grass or moisture on his shoe bottoms) after tearing a typed suicide note into pieces without leaving fingerprints on the paper and placing the scraps in a briefcase which was empty when the police impounded it but was not empty a few days later. But at least Hillary didn't cross police barriers to remove boxes of papers out of his office after his death. Well, maybe a couple...

@Sparky- Because he's flushed with success?

SeaDog said...

I said this in 2008, and I say it again, if Obama ever had Hilary as VP, he'd have to hire an army of food tasters ala the mid-evil kings.

Just as we have been talking about the EPA and Ethanol, a court rejected (on a technicality) a challenge to the EPA's E15 (or 15%) Ethanol fuel. "The same people who manufacture the engines which have to burn these modified fuels have told us that as many as 5 million cars from 2001 and beyond could have their engines damaged by the hotter running fuel." I guess the process is to burn up your engine so you will be mandated to buy a Volt.

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@SeaDog- First Obama uses "Cash for Clunkers" to kill the used car market, then uses these "enhanced" ethanol fuels to kill off the remaining old cars. But isn't it "greener" to run an old car (which is inspected annually for emissions) than to expend all of the energy in building a new car? Of course it is. Which is why it's easy to spot that the whole Ethanol boondoggle isn't about the environment at all.
