America is teetering at the brink of the "fiscal cliff" - a financial catastrophe that will plunge the nation back into longlasting recession unless bold, decisive, nonpartisan action is taken by Barack Hussein Obama. Which is why the president has announced, in no uncertain terms, that he's going to be enjoying another luxury vacation in Hawaii when our economy goes "Forward" into the abyss.
Much to the delight of any "Choom Gang" members who are out of prison and eager for a reunion, Barry will be in Oahu for three full weeks of high-level pakalolo smoking, intensive golf sessions, and laughing at the poor bastards on the mainland who'll be receiving year-end Obamacare pink slips instead of Christmas bonuses.
The vacation is estimated to cost $4 million to taxpayers, which inspired us to ask just how many households it will take to pay for Barry to work on half a tan? Interestingly, if you look at two-earner households with $50,000 of taxable income...it will take every cent from 666 of them to fund Barry's vacation. And frankly, 666 seems like a pretty ironic number of households to get the shaft on Jesus's birthday.
In fairness, a significant part of the expense of the Obama family vacation comes from providing them with massive layers of security, even though the only risk to Barry in Hawaii is getting a brain freeze from munching a rainbow-colored shave-ice too quickly.
But could those millions of dollars for security have been better used elsewhere? At this time, Ambassador Chris Stevens has no comment.
While in Hawaii, B. Hussein will visit Father Damien's leper colony,
which first gave him the idea of taking "an arm and a leg" from taxpayers.
UPDATE: TRUE HAWAII TRIVIA King Barry will be vacationing in the shadow of the Nuuanu Pali Lookout (seen below), where Hawaii's King Kamehameha finally defeated his political enemies by forcing them over a precipitous cliff. Coincidence? We think not...
FRIDAY BONUS: Okay, I didn't post much on Facebook this week that didn't appear here, but hopefully you'll enjoy this shout out to the man who helped Timothy Geithner do his taxes!

Was there really ever any doubt that once the worthless SOB and Mrs. SOB got reelected there would be a never-ending succession of golf games and luxurious vacations in exotic locales?
After all, inciting class warfare and ruining the economy is hard work...
I usually, as a rule don't bring religion into our discussions here at Hn'C, but today I think its relevant to do so...
The Good Book has a few choice words on how your house should be run. I equate the running of the White House and the conduct of its occupants to the running of the nation.
Proverbs 21:20
"In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has."
Ecclesiastes 7:4
"The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth."
Matthew 7:24-27
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
I think no explanation is necessary. Those sacred words more than speak for themselves.
I am only surprised that he has stayed this long in DC - What happened to the pre-vacation vacation? It's been 24 days since the election, he might have a seizure after having to toil 3 1/2 hrs/day, 5 days/week at being president.
In some ways I agree with Ann Coulter and Charles Krauthammer, the Republicans are being set up by the White House and Harry Reid to take the blame when we go off the cliff, so, might as well just say NO, go off the cliff, and enjoy the ride while we can. It is obvious that the liberal Democrats believe that they have a mandate to spend their way into utopia, hence the WH and Reid’s theatre of the absurd presentation of their budget proposal – course, these are the same geniuses that still swear Obamacare will deduce the deficit. The problem, you libertards is, in the words of the Iron Lady, Margaret Thatcher, “sooner or later you run out of other people’s money”. Interesting that the liberal Hollywood types are in an uproar over Obama’s proposed taxes on their industry – gee, you didn’t see that coming????
Thank you necron99. Great advice.
Oh what a perfect offering to Madam Pele, she is fond of pork.(and Gin) I bet she would really love coby beef feed pork. I can see her smiling face in the clouds, after all she is supposed to protect the islands and they are (and we are) facing a disaster far worse than a tsunami. I can dream can't I? That would be well worth 4 million- easy.
At least when he's out there, he's not, at least actively, bowing to anyone except his putter, and therefore maybe can do less damage. I still think the cliff is appealing to BamBam - after all, tax hikes across the boards, big defense cuts, more people out of work and going on "disability" (which I may myself consider sooner, rather than later), what's not to like?
As angry as the lavish vacations make me, if you ponder if for a bit, $4 mil is a small price to pay to get him the eff out of DC for 3 weeks. For a lousy $260 million, we could keep him in Hawaii until the end of his term. Corgress spends that in about 10 minutes, right? And there are bonuses. Imagine the White House being free of fried chicken and beer farts for four straight years! I'm sure the staff would be most grateful.
@SeaDog,
I have not heard what Ann Coulter and Charles Krauthammer have said, but I agree. We are NOT going to win this battle. At best, we will get promises of spending cuts in 2037 or something, and we all know how well that's worked in the past. I think all the Republicans should very publicly excuse themselves from the process and let the Socialist fockers take full blame for the end product.
@Grafton Cheddar,
The Democrats are practically drooling over the possibility of FINALLY slashing the military budget to shreds, like they have been wanting for so many years. They will gladly push us over the cliff to accomplish that one goal. Then there will finally be whirled peas and no more wars... and obama will be in Hawaii, which will absolve him of any involvement in the matter should anything go awry... not that it will... Al Quaeda will leave us alone if we have no weapons... right?
"But could those millions of dollars for security have been better used elsewhere? At this time, Ambassador Chris Stevens has no comment."
Wow. That really drives home the point.
The Republicans are in an absolutely no win situation. On that I think we can all agree. I vastly prefer the short term wailing and gnashing of teeth that will result in sticking to principle over the death by a thousand cuts resulting from rolling into doggie submission and making a stupid deal with tax increases now and maybe some spending cuts sometime, perhaps. The real fiscal cliff (nice Cheers reference Stilt) is when it all blows up a la Weimar Republic. This impending bump in the road and accompanying deep recession is nothing compared to what the commie has planned for us.
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/11/29/Top-Five-Reasons-Republicans-Should-Take-Us-Over-the-Fiscal-Cliff
So much for being available to negotiate with the Republicans.
@Colby, Who needs a military when we're "leading from behind"? Actually, aren't we really getting eff'ed from behind? I personally am feeling a bit sore...
@CenTexTim- Warren Buffet recently said that taxes should be raised on the rich even if it couldn't truly help balance the books, because it would "raise morale" in the working classes to see the big guys get stung. It seems to me that Obama might better "raise morale" with a show of austerity when it comes to spending tax dollars - but it will never happen.
@Necron99- I think your citations are exactly on target, and their wisdom is not contingent on faith. Thanks for sharing.
@SeaDog52- The president's initial offer to avert going over the fiscal cliff is "The GOP should raise taxes and give me unlimited spending and borrowing power, and in return I'll fart in your faces while tickling my own nipples." In other words, not really an appealing offer. I'm leaning towards giving the Obama voters the gift they voted for and richly deserve: the fiscal cliff. I hope the Republicans produce a substantive, appealing offer which does NOT raise taxes on anyone...and then lets Obama veto it, raising taxes on everyone before King Barry even returns from vacation.
@REM1875- Clearly, Obama has nothing to fear from an actual tsunami in Hawaii because he could part the waters as they raced towards the shore. And I'd love to see him try.
@Grafton Cheddar- There's a good argument to be made that Barry wants to go over the fiscal cliff: Republicans get the blame and it devastates the American economy: two of his favorite things. The only way it could get better for him is if he got 72 virgins for his efforts.
@Colby- I'd happily kick in money towards keeping Barry in Hawaii fulltime. In a military stockade, perhaps...
Regarding the budget negotiations, does NO ONE remember the previous promises and lies which then forced creation of the "superdupercommittee" which would, by gosh, FINALLY come up with real spending cuts...and then went nowhere?! The game is the same this time: give us more taxes and spending up front, and we'll "address" spending cuts someday. Maybe. Don't hold your breath. If that's the game Barry wants to play, the GOP needs to make it very clear to the American people - and then walk away.
@Grafton Cheddar- The "sequestration" cuts to the military are exactly what the Left wants. And hadn't you heard? Al-Qaeda was demolished by Barry with a teeny-tiny bit of help from Seal Team Six. Our problem now isn't Al-Qaeda, it's filmmakers who use Freedom of Speech to slander the prophet of Islam and must be, in the words of Hillary Clinton, "arrested and prosecuted."
@Greg- I've got to admit that this juxtaposition really pisses me off - all the more so because the Lying Jackass In Chief still refuses to come clean on Benghazi. Perhaps he thinks the blood on his hands will wash off in the warm waters of the Pacific.
@TrickyRicky- It is a no win situation for our side...but that doesn't mean we couldn't still make the loss much worse for our side. If the GOP caves now, then they might as well disband the party because they'll have no credibility with anyone in the future - least of all Tea Party conservatives.
@rickn8or- The Whitehouse actually claims that by announcing Mr. Soetoro's vacation schedule, it increases the sense of urgency for everyone to come to an agreement. Because God knows we don't want the SOB to be late for his luau.
In letting the left do what they want, it is important to follow Ann Coulter's advice and state publicly, loudly, clearly and often that they know what the left wants is a disaster, but the electorate has spoken, and if the left really wants to go down that road, the republicans will follow Ă˜bama’s example from his senate days and vote “present” ... and the left will own the hell-on-earth they create!
And like a phoenix rising from the ashes, the 2nd Republic can take shape and be the new beacon of hope in the world that the first once was.
Give us your tired; your poor; your huddled masses, but keep your liberals and leaches.
@Grafton Cheddar- After Barry's been leading from behind, we're bleeding from behinds. That's why it will be at least another four years until I'll be able to ride my unicycle again.
Not only that, but from what I understand, the President's vacation in Hawaii not only steals millions of tax dollars, but also restricts the residents of Hawaii from certain movements during this time. So other people lose some of their freedom during the holiday just so The Chosen One can get MORE rest and relaxation. Sigh.
@Stilton, An appetizing image with the unicycle - I think I will start including more fiber in my diet. As for a non-PC food item, how about a pork dumpling with the image of the Prophet embossed on the exterior? They could be test marketed in Tehran, no?
Wonder when North Korea next plans to test one of their long range missiles? (Not that I would ever condone such a thing.) But in all seriousness, I've wondered before if North Korea would enjoy wiping out Hawaii just for fun before they attempted the same on our western states.
Aloha!!!
Where will the O's stay in Hawaii? In their newly purchased estate? http://weeklyworldnews.com/politics/51125/obama-buys-40-million-estate-in-hawaii/
@Suzy- Logistically, it's got to be a real pain in the butt for the folks near the president's vacation area. I'm very familiar with Kailua beach (where he's staying), and it only has small winding roads in and out. I would imagine that Barry will also have machine gunners everywhere to keep windsurfers, swimmers, and beachcombers from getting too close. You know, the peasants.
@Grafton Cheddar- My mouth is watering already!
@Earl- From a strictly hypothetical standpoint, it would make good strategic sense for Korea to lob a high hot one at Oahu while B. Hussein is playing golf there. But it would be wrong, that's for sure!
@Grafton Cheddar- Aloha? Oy...! (Only funny if you read it with a Yiddish accent).
@Anonymous- While I think it's pretty likely that Barry did buy the $40 million estate, I don't consider the Weekly World News the most reliable source of information. Why? Because for a brief period I wrote some of their stories, and they were (how best to put this?) fact-challenged.
@Necron99 - I loved those quotes but O is neither a fool nor wasteful. He is intentionally cooperating with Soros with a "slow, managed decline of the dollar". The last quote concerned me the most - falling with a heavy crash - I'm fearful that is the only way back for America.
@Sea Dog 52 - Glad to hear that Hollywood is "in an uproar" over their increasing taxes. Really?
@Colby - I like your suggestion that the Republicans publicly excuse themselves from the vote or just vote present as Chuck said.
@ Greg - ditto to your quote.
@ Tricky Ricky - I fear you are right!
@SJ - I didn't know about the King's upcoming $4 million vaca! Yikes!
Wanting to raise taxes on the wealthy (just to satisfy the left's tendency to over-react in the name of fairness) sounds like more of the same educational babble I confronted over 30 years in the "system". Morale was always the lament of the teachers - rather a "Lack of Morale" was the standard over those long decades. I do agree w/ you about the Fiscal Cliff - Obama wants the Republicans to be blamed for it, the Republicans had better take the conservative stand on raising taxes for no-one!
@Chuck - voting present will send the message to the voters - not that they pay attention, anyway, but their principles will at least be intact.
@Anonymous - really? A $40,000,000 estate? We will never be done with the family of Obama in the course of our lifetimes. Their children will inherit the throne with that kind of fortune.
I've never gotten particularly excited about presidential vacations, since Presidents are never really "on vacation". (Remember all of the flack the media would give Bush about the trips to his ranch?)
But what does get me is the amount of of money we've been paying for the Obama family's "vacations". $1.4 billion last year alone???
That's more than the total budget for the House of Windsor and all of the other crowned-heads of Europe alone!
So yes, as a taxpayer (one of the 47%) who hasn't had a "real" vacation in years, I am appalled. Since I need to get back to work here, I can't afford the time to do the math as to how many real taxpayers it took to pay for all of that.
As for the "fiscal cliff": I'm not particularly excited, since what is going on now is mostly showmanship, and whatever actually gets done in Washington isn't ultimately going to make much difference anyway. The real "fiscal cliff" will be the day when the last straw is laid upon the back of the image of the US dollar, and people discover that they can no longer buy things of consequence with it. That will be when the Progressives will reveal their real "new world order".
BTW, just read over lunch that the Fed is going to keep printing even more dollars to keep us "stimulated", so it's coming sooner than later.
IMHO, the GOP should just let it go, and let Obama own the misery about to be inflicted across the economy. I assure you, it's going to hurt the 99% far more than the 1%. I can't feel too sorry for the GOP; they did this to themselves when they abandoned the principles they espoused when they took over Congress 18 years ago.
@Stilton re Buffet: Talk about out of touch. Just how well will the morale of the "working class" fare when they start getting even more pink slips than they are now?
I can think of a simple act BO could do that would raise morale 3,000% and cause mass partying in the streets. It would also likely send the stock market soaring into the 20k range in a matter of days, and prompt businesses to start hiring within weeks.
Unfortunately, he isn't going to resign. But...
Makes me wonder; if Congress offered him a $1 billion per year retirement and the keys to AF One to just go away, would he take it? After all, isn't his goal in life to look like a bigshot and spend like a billionaire? A $billion a year is piddling compared to the money we'd save!
@Colby - I think he feels like much more of a big shot spending the money we (collectively) DON'T have.
I used to LOVE WWN - the headline "I was Bigfoot's Love Slave" hooked me - I figured that story alone had $.59 worth of laughs in it. My roommate would occasionally buy them 'for me' if he liked the cover. I saved a few of the best ones, for a while...
I too am firmly in the 'let it burn' crowd. Boehner should defer writing the bill to the Minority Leader, allow the Left side of the aisle vote first and then very very slowly, every R should vote 'present' and walk out. Lastly, Boehner states to the House, "Your idea, your votes, your consequences."
And get that beeotch on Utube ASAP.....we have to take back control of the game. The game is, politics as WWF.
"Aaaaarrggghhh, I am the MAN!!! Boehner will CRUSH skinny barry, I'm the toughest, meanest SOB in all of "Merica and that runt WILL bow to my wil!!!"
One cannot bedazzle morons with brains, but we can beat them with bullsheet. I think it was Strunk who wrote..'write to your audience" and the R's HAVE NOT BEEN DOING THAT.
I always just thought I was ugly, the looks I'd get........turns out, most 'Mericans don't LIKE talking about tax policy, foreign affairs and economic growth!!
Just like I ain't getting younger, people are not getting smarter...
As a separate issue, how cool was it to see Don Surber comment the other day?
I hope everyone has a great weekend, enjoy yourselves. And as the Presnidebt told us.....Get in people's faces!!
@Irene Peduto- Lots of great remarks, but I'll just focus on your final one: I'm hoping that one of Barry's daughters will eventually write a bitter tell-all book that will blow the doors off his legacy. Hey, a guy can dream - right?
@John the Econ- Call me cynical, but I'm betting that Barry gets more real vacationing done while on vacation than most other presidents. Even when he's supposedly NOT on vacation, he's skipping briefings and going golfing. He is the par-TAY prezzie.
The "fiscal cliff" is a wildly mixed bag. My best bet is there will be yet another crappy deal which pushes things a few more months into the future. Because it's all a game of time with the Progressives: time to let the printing of money undercut the actual purchasing power...time to let the idea of ending tax benefits for retirement plans sink in ("they're subsidies for the evil frugal!") and so on.
And regarding the morale of the working classes, how freaking cynical is is to try to cheer them up by showing them the pain of the high and mighty rather than by trying to improve their lives? Buffet might as well suggest cheering the masses by letting them watch the aristocrats being carried to the guillotine in horsedrawn wagons.
@Colby- If Barry would take the money and go, it would be the best investment America ever made. Of course, we'd have to get Biden out of the picture too - but that wouldn't take a billion dollars. We'd just have to tell him that he's being moved to a farm where he can romp and play and chase squirrels and butterflies in the sunshine.
@Grafton Cheddar- It's not actually spending money that Barry enjoys; it's his perverse glee in hearing people beg for it.
@Pete D- Weekly World News was hilarious and I would have loved to keep writing for them, but their contractual liability policies were terrible. They'd pay you $75 to write a story, but then say you had to accept the legal liability if anyone sued - AND you couldn't admit in court that a story wasn't true. In other words, you couldn't mount a defense, no matter how ridiculous the story.
Just for grins, here are some of the headlines I submitted back in the day:
BONELESS BABY GOES DOWN THE DRAIN
MAN WITH EYES IN BACK OF HEAD SUES THEATER CHAIN
ANTS ALREADY RULE THE EARTH - And Our Goverment Works For Them!
WORLD'S DEADLIEST SPIDER IS IN YOUR HOUSE - But It Can't Be Seen!
HITLER IS BACK - AND HE'S A BAD, BAD BABY!
ONE-TON TODDLER IS TEETER-TOTTER TERROR.
ALPHABET TO GET NEW LETTER - And You Don't Say It With Your Mouth.
CENTIPEDE BOY NEEDS YOUR SHOES
SWISS ARMY TRAINS IN TWEEZER COMBAT.
ELEVATOR HELL: BLIND NUN TRAPPED WITH BOXING KANGAROO
IRS DEMANDS NUDE PHOTOS OF EVERY TAXPAYER - And It's The Law!
Ah, good times...
@Queso Grande- I like the guerilla nature of what you're describing. I think we need to start instituting some very different ways of doing things.
And regarding Don Surber, it's always a thrill to hear from him. For those that don't know, Don is a great columnist and was one of the earliest and most prolific high-profile political bloggers. Getting an "attaboy" from Don Surber means a lot to me.
@SJ - OMG! Those headlines you wrote sound like they could have been written for one of the outfits like Star or some such. Too funny!
He's not just restricting the residents of Hawaii from going about their business when he goes there. Imagine you've saved and scrimped for years to go to Hawaii, and once you get there...you can't go anywhere or do anything because the First Family is there. I'd be FURIOUS.
@Irene Peduto- I wish the Weekly World News had a more forgiving contract; I'd have loved to pump out headlines (and stories) like that. Although if I really just want to make up ridiculous stuff, I suppose I could always offer my services to the MSM.
@Noelegy- Hawaii or not, anyone who's "scrimped and saved" for anything should be furious these days. But back to the subject at hand, Kailua is a very small town with very overcrowded roads already - having Barry there is going to screw things up royally. Just like when he's on the mainland.
"It's Raining Kimchi"... Hmmm, maybe there's actually something to our idle speculations about BO's Hawaiian New Year's gift from the far Northwest: http://www.foxnews.com/world/2012/12/01/north-korea-plans-new-long-range-rocket-launch/
"Ambassador Chris Stevens could not be reached for comment." Damn. He's the new Mary Jo Kopechne.
I concur strongly with Necronn99's references to the word of God; if you havent read them, they are #2 up there.
Obama and his bunch, the SAME bunch we have endured for four years already, are without a doubt the most perplexing in my lifetime, and no doubt yours also.
It would not surprise me if obama is relelected for a third term, as nothing in our constitution seems to make much difference where he is concerned.
When the ancient nation of Israel rebelled against God, as our nation progressively is, they were judged by God by their almost total destruction from their enemies. When a people do "what is right in their own eyes", as Israel did, their God loves them enough to let them be brought down, so they will not perish completely. That is where I see America now, I have no confidence in our 'system', be it political, economic or otherwise, to change the path we are on as a nation.
Those that do not learn from history are destined to repeat it.
So what IS the solution of not a return to the God of the bible?
SORRY...that's "IF not a return to the God of the bible".
@Grafton Cheddar- North Korea hasn't been shy about this sort of thing in the past. After Barry told them not to test any long range missiles, they shot one in the direction of Hawaii on the 4th of July. Can't say they don't have a sense of humor - and a clear understanding that our president is the Last Twinkie.
@Red- The difference is that Kopechne knew she was going to get screwed (albeit not the way Teddy led her to believe).
@PRY- I have hopes that if another deluge happens, Texas may be the new ark. I'll be darned if we don't already have two of everything here.
And at this point, I don't think a third term for Barry is impossible. I tend to think no horrible political travesty is impossible.
You are a wise man, Stilt! The deluge(of some kind) IS coming. It will change everything in a way secular progressives never dreamed of.
Save me a seat on the ark!
