No commentary or links today other than to say that everything above is true, with the possible exception that the new Whitehouse dog is solar-powered.
Truth be told, Hope n' Change is feeling a wee bit too stressed out for deeper news analysis today...

Stilt, the gif is priceless, if not a bit racist...
Revs. Ja-hackson and Sharpei... where are you?
Anon, it's spelled "where".
@Stilton,
For what it's worth, us H'n'C followers are still holding up the Jarlsberg family in our thoughts and prayers. Hang in there, and please don't worry about us on top of all else.
I also hate to be critical, but there is no way Bob Schiffer would ever report anything as newsworthy as a new White House dog. This would exceed the scope of his journalistic capabilities.
In somewhat related news, I loved what Trey Gowdy said about de-funding Obamacare. He said he believed that the same amount of Republicans who voted for the ACA should also vote to fund it. Take that, McConnell. You and your cronies didn’t vote for it, so why the hell would you fund the damn thing?!
During the Clinton years when the corruption tales kept coming out at increasingly unprecedented rates, I bought into the theory that it was all by design; "Scandal Fatigue" is all about getting the public to accept the hopelessly absurd and corrupt as the normal state of affairs, and to wear us down from even wanting to confront the reality of it, much less actually fighting it. All of the above certainly confirm this.
Our non-policy in the Middle East has put our former allies in the odd position of actually coordinating with their enemies over us:
Allies Thwart America in Egypt
Israel, Saudis and U.A.E. Support Military Moves

It seems that the Obama Administration's "appease the Egyptian Muslims" policy not only is contrary to the interests of practically every other power in the region, it's actually serving to align the Israeli's with the Arabs!
"A senior Israeli official called the anti-Muslim Brotherhood nations "the axis of reason."
How's that for an "international reset"? T he Obama Administration has so alienated Israel that they're now coordinating with their former enemies (the Egyptian Military) and an emerging Arab "axis of reason".
Remember 2004 and John Kerry's "global test"? I think he's clearly failed it.
Shillary starts her campaign... Oh, never mind.
Joe Biden for President: Heck, I'd probably vote for him over whatever squishy the GOP is likely to promote next time around. At least with Joe, you know exactly what you will be getting: Crazy. Crazy can't possibly harm America any more than what the academics behind Obama have done.
The bored kids: Let me ask you this; So if you mindlessly kill someone of another race simply because you are "bored", does that preclude you from being charged with a "hate crime"?
Bob Schiffer: Whatever. His only use in the world is as a proxy for the worthlessness of what the liberal media has to present in the name of news.
As always, our thoughts and prayers are with you, @Stilton. Just remember, that you aren't any use to anybody if you reduce your head to a bloody pulp. As I mentioned above, that's exactly what they want you to do!
Oh, and yesterday in Georgia, another well-armed whack-job goes into a school to supposedly create mayhem. Except, instead of just shooting the place up, the first thing he did was go to the front office and request that the receptionist call the local television station. He was captured in short order, and thankfully nobody was injured.
Since obviously all he was after was attention, I won't be using his name. I suggest that all future attention-seeking sociopaths be referred to as numbers only. (I'll only be calling him "Psycho Fool 20130820")
And predictably, we have renewed calls for more gun control from the usual suspects.
It didn't take long for the background on the perpetrator to come out; he's been in trouble with the law since his early teens, is likely bi-polar, and was recently arrested and released, and assigned "anger management". His own brother publicly states it was a matter of time before he did something wacky, and already had a restraining order out on him.
And yet it was the guns that were responsible.
How about a society and legal system that is so reckless with its "compassion"? What does it really say about a society that is so recklessly concerned about the rights of the obvious psychos that it instead directs its energies towards suppressing the rights of the sane?
John, that's Obama, the Great Unite-er for you. Both the Libs AND the Cons hate him, now apparently he's actually getting the Israelis and the Saudi's to work together? Miracle!
And, even better are the Usual Suspect Dorks who are using the Oklahoma incident to call for "more gun control" - Um, it's alreay illegal for teens to have handguns, and I'm pretty sure it's illegal in OK to shoot people, even if they ARE white, and foreigners... MORE stupid laws will do NOTHING. Maybe if we controlled crazy people - hell, as opposed to guns, there's GOT to be fewer of 'em, and easier to locate and round up, no?
Thank you @Stan da Man, for pointing this out. Since I can't possibly monitor all media activity nationwide by myself, I can't say the following with absolute certainty or authority, but...
...in the wake of a couple of black teenagers shooting a white guy because they were "bored", I have yet to casually come across any suggestion that we needed more gun control.
But a single white guy enters a school, and we do.
In fact, a quick Google search shows that the only place where "gun control" gets mentioned in context with the Oklahoma shooting is in the international press, not domestic. Interesting.
Racism? Is it only white people who the left feels needs to be disarmed?
Guys, the way the OK murder is being reported here in Australia is with a heavy slant on how this "proves" that guns are evil and should be banned.
They're also doing a Trayvon Martin-esque job of showing an incredibly overexposed picture of one of the murderers, which makes him look Whiter than Conan O'Brien, the narrative being that there was no racial motivation behind the murder.
@Grafton Cheddar- Someone else created that GIF, but I love it - and it sums up my mood beautifully!
@Colby- Thank you; it's both needed and appreciated.
I agree with Gowdy about de-funding Obamacare. NOW.
@John the Econ- Scandal Fatigue is not only a real ailment, I've got it! But not so much that these scandals don't stir my passions.
Regarding the wannabee school shooter, the guy was a nutjob - and that was the problem.
@Stan da Man- Barry should be a great uniter! We can call ourselves "The Coalition of the Sane."
And as you say, more gun laws aren't going to prevent Oklahoma style tragedies. The laws were already in place, and it didn't help the victim a bit.
@John the Econ- Yes, it is only white people who need to be disarmed, because the Liberal Left has already created and reinforced the idea that only white people are responsible for their actions (and more specifically, only white males). I wish to hell I was making that up - but as far as the Left is concerned, armed black youths are simply feral animals living in a world that "morality" never touches.
@Coon Tasty- I believe that one of the three actually is white. Or white-ish (when I see the middle name "Dewayne," I cock an eyebrow). But one of the truly blackety-black-black trigger men had previously posted on Twitter that he just plain hates white people. So where is the outcry about this hate crime? Or is it possible that it's not "hate" when you kill an enemy of the Progressive State?
By the way, I think Australia would be smart to end American tourism today. Not because of our guns, but because of our rampant - and even celebrated - lawlessness.
I found it interesting that he school "shooter" told the office people to call the cops first. He wouldn't check himself into a psych facility, but he'd let the cops put him there? Well, that's better than actually killing someone first, isn't it?
The "boredom" killers: one's black, one's half-black, one's quarter-black. If Barack Hussein had a son, which one would look like him?
@SJ - Michael Jones is either a halfrican or a quadroon. And, yeah, "Dewayne" was a dead giveaway.
I am so tired of the media constantly making out that America has "a gun problem". - By contrast, the State in which I live, Queensland (2.5 x the size of Texas!) is full of gun owners who would be characterised by liberals as being "dumb rednecks" yet they (apparently inexplicably) DON'T GO AROUND SHOOTING EACH OTHER ON A DAILY BASIS! Would you care to guess which ethnic group *doesn't* make up 13% of the population here...?
As I see it, the big problem America has is that those who make up the majority of the criminal class (at least as far as violent crime/murder are concerned) have also become the protected class, to the point where none may criticise them without fear of prosecution/frivolous lawsuits/loss of employment.
It is sad to see the country that gave birth to the greatest political leader the world has known, Ronald Wilson Reagan, has become a complete mockery of the values for which he fought.
Coon, very true. It is quite tragic that due to the "safety for all" groups and the "feed the hungry parasites" groups we have encouraged the bad behavior and sufficiently reduced consequences thereof that Darwin is now actively on the side of the irresponsible breeders. And yes, in full fairness to John the Econ, I've heard / seen pretty much nothing on this domestically - what I *have* seen was from the Aussie PM, and that perennial gun fearin' twat-fart Piers Morgan.
Nice to know they're down playing the race issue, tho, as it's really a scum sucking d-bag a-hole psycho issue, and they come in ALL colors. So, as opposed to licensing / cracking down on guns, how about we crack down on the psychos, and encourage them (perhaps vigorously) to stop breathing our collective air. C'mon, libs, it's just a little retroactive abortion...
I also note it's another 'victory' as it were, for "the world's deadliest round" - Statistically, more people are killed by .22 than any other bullet. (yes, it is the cheapest and most common by a factor of 10, AND it fires from both handguns and rifles, so there are good reasons it kills more people, but there you go...)
Also worth noting - the gun is NOT responsible for the shooting - it is just a tool, and if they had not had a gun, they probably would have used another tool - more people (in US) are killed each year by blunt instruments (hammers, baseball bats) than EITHER shotguns OR Rifles (including >koff< "Assualt" >koff< rifles).
What's the magazine capacity on a hammer? How often do you need to reload a baseball bat?
And these evil killing machines are just out there, any kid can just pick one up and start killing people w/ one?
No, Joe, say it ain't SO!
Eyarrrgh, some days are just BEYOND coffee...
See if you can spot the intellectual dishonesty;
Person murders someone with a rock ... what is WRONG with them?
Person murders someone with a knife ... what is WRONG with them?
Person murders someone with their bare hands ... what is WRONG with them?
Person murders someone with a car ... what is WRONG with them?
Person murders someone with a gun ... we need to BAN GUNS!
Can anyone spot the cleverly-hidden "one of these is not like the other" rationales for murder?
We assume personal responsibility until it's a firearm. Then it is somehow the inanimate object that is to blame, despite there being at least nine more common ways people lose their lives in a year (falls, car crashes, medical error, etc)
Hint: It is no more about safety than Obamacare is about Health Care -- it's All. About. Control.
A disarmed populace is an easily-controlled populace. And when you have a tyrant-in-waiting like Obama pushing for "gun control," what do you think will happen should he get it?
Remember, this is someone who either tacitly or explicitly gave approval for the IRS to attack the political opposition, who left an Ambassador and other Americans to die in Libya because taking action could have negative political consequences, and who dried and wailed about Bush's actions under the Patriot Act and then expanded those actions when he took office.
But for Double Standards, Barack Obama and the Left would have none at all.
Never forget who and what they are.
Actually @JustaJeepGuy, the call the Georgia shooter asked to be made was to a TV station, not the police. He was in it for the attention.
So instead of clamping down on the 2nd Amendment, logically we should be looking at the 1st. (Not that I'd advocate either) And of course, the left and media wouldn't be please about that.
Usual suspect Jesse Jackson finally checked in on the Oklahoma murderers, by tweeting "Praying for the family of Chris Lane. This senseless violence is frowned upon and the justice system must prevail."
Wow, way to take a tough stance there Jesse. Cold-blooded murder-out-of boredom is merely "frowned upon" by your peer group? I guess it's nice to know there is some standard for outrage. I mean, it's not like it was something truly outrageous, like someone being denied a look at a 5-figure handbag.
Yet more fine examples of the "soft bigotry of low expectations". Liberals expect and accept this level of behavior out of minorities, because they honestly don't believe them to be capable of anything better. So again, just who are the racists in America?
Perhaps the way to kill gun control in America is to frame it as a ploy to disarm America's minorities. After all, that was the original aim of the first efforts at gun control by Democrats well over a century ago.
@John, I stand corrected. I thought I had read that it was the police.
I was surprised today to read about the 8-year-old vet beaten to death by--and they actually stated this--TWO BLACK YOUTHS. Ordinarily, you have to read between the lines to determine the perps' race.
Of the "three bored teens" in OK, the pictures I saw showed the "whitest" one to be Dewayne. True or not?
