Warning Signs

Let us be very clear from the outset. Hope n' Change wishes no harm to befall Barack Obama, and it is our sincerest hope that he will live to a very ripe old age, during all of which time he will marinate in the bitterness of being accurately labeled as "America's worst president" after his single, unsuccessful term.

Rather, our point is that substituting signs for trained law enforcement officers is unbelievably useless and stupid...and if Obama's life was on the line, he'd be the first to say so.

But instead, it is the lives of citizens of Arizona (or any Americ
ans passing through Arizona) that are on the line...and the president doesn't care.

That's why Arizona's recent request for 3000 National Guard troops to control drug-related violence got them only 30 troops...and 15 large warning signs telling citizens which parts of America are now controlled by Mexican drug lords.

The Democrats are using their current "open border" policy as a political football while turning a blind eye to the growing violence on our southern border...and actually ceding control of American land to drug runners, human smugglers, and killers. It's madness, pure and simple.

But maybe the president could make a compromise. Rather than sending only 30 troops and 15 signs to Arizona, perhaps he could also assign a few Secret Service agents.

After all, he has 3200 of them.

Obama's party allows "active drug and human smuggling areas"
in America to facilitate the arrival of "unregistered Democrats."

Time to call in the Marines!
A few air strikes should help clean up the area quite nicely.

It's time for Sheriff Joe and/or the AZ Governor, Brewer, to take a bunch of those signs to DC. Plant them in front of the Capitol Building, the White House, and the Supreme Court. It would be easier than transporting captured illegal aliens - particularly known felons - and releasing them on the steps of the Capitol but nearly as satisfying.

It the government cannot handle a task as conceptually simple as controlling a border, how could any intelligent being expect that they should be able to handle something as complex as health care?

to drjim: since O is bringing the troops home,(& they will need some 'decompression' time before fully re-entering society), how about a 12-month tour on the southern border. they will be armed. they will be allowed brief, shallow incursions into Mexico for purposes of chasing lawbreakers. allow 1 week paid leave every 2 months for them to visit family & re-try civilian life.
OH! 1 more thing! release the dogs! no silly rules of engagement. only 2 rules. 1) if it is coming into the U.S. .... stop it! 2) if it is going back to Mexico, make sure it doesn't slow down.

Following the link, 3200 is only the "Special Agents" - total head count is more like 8000!
Pretty big secret!

"If 0bama is the answer, how stupid was the question?!"

Stilton, I have to hand it to you. Being that the 0bama administration is such a target-rich environment for such stuff, I wouldn't have the discipline not to do about 15 cartoons a day. How do you do it, man?

Stilton:
How can you use the term "unsuccessful" to describe Obama? His plans have succeeded beyond his wildest dreams. He believed it would take ten years to get to where he has taken us in less than two. It may be the success of evil, but it's a success by any measure. At this point all we can hope for is that the next president will have the stones to work for the repeal of everything he has done and will do until 2012.

Several things come to mind here - a long, long time ago I had a short career in social services - Sometimes on a late Friday afternoon, about 15 minutes before closing time (or for us, drinking time), a "drifter" would show up, wanting to be put up for the weekend in a local hotel. Their hope was that we would deal with it right away (i.e, a Salvation Army hotel voucher)as it was almost closing time and we would be in a hurry to leave (so that we could go somewhere and tap a keg). Anyway, we were a small city located on a bus line, so what we actually did was keep a supply of one-way bus tickets (the south bound came through in the early evening, so they usually wound up going back from where they had come, as the north bound that brought them had come through earlier in the day). I imagine nowadays these drifters have "rights" & that tactic couldn't be used.

So what does this have to do with today's topic?

Maybe Arizona should establish some kind of a safe zone where these immigrants could cross over. Establish a nice welcoming center (air conditioned, food, snacks, etc.). Then give them a bus ticket good for a specific destination (I recommend any of the Blue states that don't stand a chance in hell of ever turning Red) & a loaded debit card (maybe $250)good only at the destination. I'm sure they would flock there, probably wouldn't even have to bother patroling the rest of the border.

I'm sure Eric Holder would sue, but Arizona could provide the sand to pound in his ears. And I'm sure the destination areas wouldn't have a problem - after all, these are just people looking for a better way of life in their community.

Then take that no-man's land, warn the citizens to get out, and carpet bomb the hell out of the area.

Emmentaler- I'm not sure if you're complimenting my "discipline" in doing one cartoon a day, or suggesting I'm lazy (grin). But the truth is neither - actually I only have time to do one cartoon, after which I scream until I pass out. And when I wake up, it's time to do a new cartoon.

Angry Hoosier Dad- You're right! I said "unsuccessful" because I was selfishly thinking about the country instead of Obama's agenda. But he has been astoundingly successful in implementing his agenda; I'm a considerable cynic (as some of you may have noticed) but I would never have believed two years ago that we'd now be this far down the road to socialism, or approaching the deliberate end of America as a significant world power and a force for good.

alan markus- Some have suggested it as a joke, but I think the free bus tickets from Arizona to San Francisco is a great idea, and I'd love to see it really happen. And just to make sure that none of our "uninvited guests" feel nervous about boarding the bus, we should assure them that they won't be checked for smuggled drugs or weapons.

I am all for taking away this dudes SS and let him fly as far as he can for as long as he can. Take his pension and medical coverage too. This dude is worth nothing, not even the time of day. Oh and send him and his followers back to Africa where he was born.

Alan & Stilton....Yes, SF is a great destination...Washington DC would an excellent one, too!

Just don't ship them to Detroit, please. We're already afflicted by the unions, and have about all the welfare recipients we (I) can stand...

Wow...hateful talk and the tired old "...always blame the Bush administration..." mantra. Well, you know what?...the Bush administration actually DID get us in this massive mess of an economy!! It took that idiot 8 years to completely bankrupt our country. It is going to take a while to UNDO what they did! All you 'Bushie' whiners are too wrapped up in your "rigth-ful-ness" to admit you were wrong and you prey on the emotionally charged meltdown Bush left behind. It's pathetic.
