Gruesome Images

Still queasy from watching television in the Situation Room while the US Military completed President Bush's longterm plan to rid the world of Osama bin Laden, president Barack Obama is now debating when to release the gruesome images.

Oh, we don't mean pictures of Osama with a chunk of his head missing: we assume that picture will be more popular than the cover of Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue.

No, we mean letting the news media again look at the gruesome images of our nation's economy. We know that the images, in the words of Whitehouse spokesman Jay Carney, "could be inflammatory" and bring back painful memories of that nightmarish day, only two and a half years ago, when Obama struck without warning and set into motion the "War on Fiscal Responsibility."

Despite the glad news of Osama's highly kinetic passing, polls show very little improvement in Barack Obama's approval numbers, indicating that the public can tell the difference between what the president actually does and what he watches others do.

In any case, it's now time for Mr. Obama to turn his attention away from that compound in Pakistan...and get serious about trying to solve the economic disasters which have been compounded by his presidency.

OK, OK. I have HAD it with this strip and its constant racist depictions of President Obama. I refuse to read it again until you get different no-racist artwork. Specifically, some that depicts the President as an overweight, older white guy. Also, references to the President playing basketball are obviously racist. Why are there never references to him playing Soccer or Lacrosse? Finally, these approval numbers are consistently worse and worse --- obviously trying to portray some sort of pattern. This just isn't acceptable in today's world.

Unlike terrorist acts, which can only be accurately described as "terrorist acts", the economic misery inflicted upon innocent Americans is truly a "man-caused disaster". Granted, it was initiated by G.W. Bush with his willful disregard for and mismanagement of domestic issues in the pursuit of a war on terror when he should have been focused on both. But his were sins mostly of omission and bowing to the Democrat's agenda. Obama's vile acts are directed at finishing off an already wounded economy so that he can rebuild it in his image and likeness. He deserves no more consideration or compassion than any other violent attacker in your home...rhetorically speaking, that is. Don't want to end up on one of Holder's lists. I already have two strikes against me for being white and loving my country.

Dirtbag-in-Chief doesn't care about his poll numbers, he figures that after he finishes collapsing the economy, destroying the country, and shredding the Constitution that he can just appoint himself Commander for Life by Executive order; and then have Holden Kinetically solve his popularity issues.

Just like the Somali Pirate issue, shamed into doing the right thing. Now he finds out that people who can't afford to buy gas to drive to the jobs they don't have, so they can pay the mortgage on the house they can't afford still don't like him..
Pity that.

IMHO: this administration is not the least bit interested in solving the economic (and other) disasters plaguing the country. They want to make them worse while continuing to promote national dysfunction by increasing the nation’s internal animosities along existing and fabricated social, economic and political divides. Have’s against Have Not’s; one race against another; men against women; heterosexual vs. homosexual; left vs. right and both against anyone not left or right enough. Look at every speech, every policy, every action and inaction and you’ll see that they all serve to generate and amplify prejudice, envy and fear.

“A house divided against itself cannot stand.” (Abraham Lincoln)

And that is the goal: chaos - a state of national emergency calling for martial law and the suspension of: the Constitution? Elections? Due Process? Property Ownership? Civil liberties? Gun ownership?

Ending the Republic.

Chuck,
Exactly right my friend.

Quite frankly, I'm pretty much over the President "getting serious" with the economy. There's not much left to do as his mission there is pretty much done; hyper-accelerating out one-way trajectory towards economic collapse and a wishful Marxist rebirth.

On another topic: Notice how the cluster$#@!s of Libya and Syria have been knocked out of the papers?

@Readers- It's funny to read some poll numbers (no doubt carefully obtained) which do show a bounce for Obama's job approval among those who can "put aside partisan politics" (thanks, New York Times!) Apparently giving Obama responsbility for Osama's kill is fine, but giving him responsibility for his own policies is "partisan politics." Right.

I'm delighted that Osama bin Laden is dead (assuming that the fatal bullet wasn't fired by a Navy Seal named U.K.L. Lee), but the death is another distraction. I'm not aware of any intelligence assessment that's ever suggested a date in the future that Al Qaeda would bring America to its knees. But the hardly radical CBO has said that Washington's economic policies will do the job within 20 years or less.

So for now, the most important threat to America isn't Osama bin Laden...it's that Obama's bin Spendin.

You know, on a side note, beyond the $4 gas and the economic disaster continuing (2 foreclosed houses right on my street! That's a first.) -- I think, for once, (just this once, and not that it will do me any good either,) that I'd rather look at the Sports Illustrated's swimsuit cover -- than a picture of Osama's head. I trust he's dead. If it was faked, then Osama will just walk out and do a news conference and dispel the story. And someone here will have a lot of explaining to do.

However, the president is lying about the state of the economy -- and everyday, um, it walks out and gives a news conference about continued high unemployment and foreclosures and taxes and prices and inflation, the deficit and our newly lowered credit rating -- sounds like it's still moribund to me.

One good thing doesn't make it all good. And even a broken clock strikes the time right twice a day.

(And Bush declined Obama's invitation to meet him at Ground Zero in NYC; seems he's got a golf date. Ironic.)

@John the Econ- We apparently posted at the same time. While I call for Obama to get serious about the economy in my commentary, it's only rhetorical: we already know he won't do it (and will, in fact, willfully make it worse).

I dig you dude, and read you everyday. But this does not help your argument when you post a link and the second paragraph starts with: "Daily updates are based upon nightly telephone interviews and reported on a three-day rolling average basis. As a result, one-third of the interviews for today’s update were conducted before news was released about the death of Osama bin Laden."

Did you read it? Did you expect us not to? Don't give the left any ammo with "unfounded" facts. That is their specialty.

Let me see here...a few years ago the MSM could not print enough pictures of the Abu Graib foolishness regardless of Mooselimb sensitivities but now they do not want to post a lovely photo of UBL for fear of Mooselimb sensitivities? My head is spinning...

Looking at the WH Situation Room PR photos posed to make The Alleged President And Circle look 'presidential' and evoke JFK and the Cuban Missile Crisis while the group watches real Americans accomplishing real things with real firearms...Obama looks so...groping for word...INADEQUATE.

That group shot where he's perched on the fringe of the group, golf attire, a peripheral late arrival, the center of no one's attention even for the PR shot. If you didn't know the players you could mistake him for any random WH flunky taking a break from fetching coffee. Biden looks like a dazed deer. Hilary looks like she's about to hurl, or faint--and, tellingly, is the only one with a visible briefing playbook. A tick-cluster of dunces, the paradox of beta males infected with bureaucratic ambitions.

Polls confirming today there's no bounce. If anything, the snuff op makes his kumbiyah core constituency even more uneasy with him...while most seem to be giving credit where due, to the SEALS, intel, Gitmo dunkers and GWB who set all this in motion.

@Chadero- You make a good point, but I haven't actually dropped the ball here. I created the link fairly early yesterday and then checked later to see if there was newer information; there was and it supported the same conclusions but was a bit harder to read, so I left the original link. So yes, I do read the materials that I link to, and intend/hope for my readers to do so as well.

@TheOldMan- The same thought struck me; this president was straining at the bit to release pictures which would inflame the Muslim world as long as it would help tarnish Bush's legacy, but suddenly he's decided not to release pictures of Osama for fear of offending. Although if we're lucky, maybe he'll let us see a snapshot of Osama's 40-minute Islamic funeral after being sponged with rose water. (Okay, I don't know if it was rose water, and I can think of several readily available liquids which I would have preferred).

@Andrew- The picture of Obama in his golf attire is indeed telling. Perhaps he was only told "we're going to shoot 18 holes today" and hadn't realized they'd all be in Osama.

Stilt, I think you've hit on the key to Islamic Rage - they know it's better to be p*ssed off than p*ssed on, and so accordingly take every opportunity to be p*ssed off as much as possible.
