Unsinkable

Despite the president's attacks on Arizona's immigration laws
and law enforcement officers, as well as his assertion that there is a tremendous need for immediate "immigration reform," Obama has decided to take it off the table for now because he doesn't think Congress has "an appetite for it."

Rather, he thinks that Congress should work on something
much more urgent than uncontrolled border violence, drug cartels, sex slavery, murders, and millions of people in limbo. Of course, we're talking about the Energy Tax, which is urgent because...uh...because...hang on, there must be a reason...oh yeah! It's urgent because it gives the government more power and money!

Which they will use, of course, to buy deckchairs.

It's not that he doesn't think Congress has the appetite for it (nice goading there from Fauxbama), it's that he knows the minute men and middle class working folks have a stronger voice and back their words up with action. He is a coward and acts like a petulant child.

Red- We agree. It's not so much an "appetite" Congress lacks as nerve, integrity, cajones, responsibility, initiative, beliefs, leadership, courage...oh, the list goes on and on.

It's urgent because with the news media awash with pictures of abject birds and otters covered in oil from the Gulf, he will be able to push more "green energy" like windfarms (profitting his dear friends at GE) and solar panels. Can't let a good crisis go to waste!

I feel a bit of optimism that more people are ignoring the rhetoric from Washington, D.C. and doing simple math instead. Whether it's Obamacare, the debt, government spending, a porous border, etc., people are looking at the numbers and can see that they don't add up. When you stir in the almost daily demagoguery from the White House (helped by the MSM and Hollywood), folks are understandably a bit riled. November will show that people don't like being called names when their main motivation is saving this nation from collapse.

The "Cap and Tax" push is only more urgent because he and his cronies are running out of time to get even more of our money diverted into the pockets of his inner circle.. (SEIU, AFL-CIO, Valerie Jarrett, the Chicago Carbon Exchange, etc)

He is choosing to ignore the problems that do not impact him personally in favor of those that do

Exactly, Dark Knight! The more time he lets slip by, the more he risks having his entire corrupt circle exposed. Glenn Beck has done a great job tying it all together, and (hopefully) it's just a matter of time before someone with a strong voice in the MSM will be gutsy enough to expose what's really going on.

CT Yankee, et al...

I seriously doubt he's even remotely concerned about having his corrupt circle exposed... the nice thing about this recent batch of Progressive/Socialists is that they have become more bold making them easier to spot.

If there were any chance of prosecution then people like Andy Stern, Franklin Raines, Chris Dodd and Barney Frank would already be behind bars.

Unfortunately the very people who have been entrusted with our nationals security, both against foreign and domestic threats, are too impotent and/or ignorant to act.

Franklin was right when he responded to that woman over 200 years ago... "A Republic, if you can keep it"

Perfect summary - besides, the NØbamunists must have some sense that if they push their "Immigration Reform" a.k.a. AMNESTY it will make the public more PO'd than they already are!

Readers- once again, really good comments! The "Titanic" metaphor in today's cartoon struck us as being apt because there are absolute limits to what a vessel can hold (whether it's an ocean liner taking on water, or a country taking on the financial burden of millions of immigrants), and because the time to do repairs in an emergency is NOW...not when it's more convenient or more popular.

Instead, we get a naked power (and money) grab, with the specific intent of hoarding as many goodies as possible while the democrats still retain power.

But to torture the metaphor as much as possible, if Captain Obama is currently standing on the bow of his ship shouting "I'm King of the World," the rest of us are maneuvering a major iceberg into his path. And it should be there right about November...
