An Unclarification

At Barack Hussein Obama's festive Ramadan dinner in the Whitehouse, he clearly threw his support behind the building of the "Ground Zero mosque," getting applause from his Muslim guests. His exact words:

"Let me be clear. As a citizen, and as President, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country. And that includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in Lower Manhattan."

For once the president was clear...and it didn't play well with the American public, who consider the construction of such a mosque to be legal, but an insult, a sacrilege, and an act of provocation by those in whose name the 9/11 attacks were committed.

So now the president is attempting to change his vote to a noncommittal "present" on the issue and has taken a few minutes out of his family vacation to issue an unclarification of his previous stand: “I was not commenting and I will not comment on the wisdom of making a decision to put a mosque there.”

So he wants us to believe that he was actually using the occasion of Ramadan to tell a roomful of applauding Muslims that they're being stupid?

Barack Hussein Obama has a long history of trying to appear to be on both sides of every issue. But when it comes to 9/11 and Ground Zero, the sides are very clearly delineated: right or wrong. For us, or against us.

And his refusal to clearly state that he stands with the American people tells us which side he's on.

Some people have said the proposed mosque "isn't even close to Ground Zero."
But the Burlington Coat Factory building had two floors destroyed
by this landing gear from one of the doomed jets that hit the twin towers.

Obama: I Didn’t Really Mean I Supported THAT Ground Zero Mosque

Obama: No, Wait a Minute. I do Endorse THAT Ground Zero Mosque

Philip- Good links! The president originally refused to give an opinion ("local matter"), then gave his opinion (at the Whitehouse Ramadan dinner), then denied that he'd given an opinion, and now has his spokespeople saying that he stands with his Ramadan comments.

This isn't "spin," it's pure dishonesty from a man who loves Islam more than America.

But, of course, suggesting that Barack Hussein Obama might be a Muslim is vile calumny and dirty slander.
Right.

Angry Hoosier Dad- Our opinion is that Barack Hussein Obama probably isn't a Muslim or, for that matter, an actual Christian. He's too full of himself.

But we do believe that he finds much to like about Islam, and much to hate about America...and in the end, prefers the former over the latter.

Obama: "Let me be clear, what I'm saying is that I didn't say what I said when I said what I wasn't saying. See?"

These are my images of Islam:
The televised beheading of Daniel Pearl. The sickening sight of jets flying into buildings, the people choosing to leap to their death rather than burn and then the collapsing towers on 9-11. The smoldering hole in the Pennsylvania landscape, same day. The scorched and shattered Pentagon wall. There are so many more and yet I am willing to live in peace with Islam while I expect Islam to live in peace with us. That includes respecting our limits and refraining from rubbing our noses in it.
Islam regards our tolerance as cowardice. On this matter, so do I.

This is what can now be coined as "classic 0bama". So well versed at talking out of both sides of his face that you can no longer tell which is which! Let me guess: there were no teleprompters tableside for this "great orator" during his ramalamadingdong festivities?

Antique colloquialism for a traitor's reward: "A short drop and a quick stop..." Back when it was coined, it referred to a hanging. 0bama and his ilk are enjoying the modern day version of this "short drop" in the polls. I hope and pray that the "quick stop" comes with the 2010 election, with a more permanent version to come in 2012.

(Damn! I sound like a broken record, er, CD...)

Angry Hoosier Dad- Excellent post. You're absolutely right, and you express yourself eloquently and (unlike the president) with unmistakable clarity.

Emmentaler- It's our understanding that B. Hussein's remarks for Ramadan were carefully scripted beforehand. We don't see obvious teleprompters in any pictures (no doubt by design), but we're sure they're there. In some cases when there's no place to hide them, the president uses mega-prompters (essentially big screen TVs) near the back of the room. No, really.

I don't usually disagree with you, Stilt, but I'm pretty sure Obama is Muslim...what with all the dinners and all....I've always thought so and he's done nothing to change my mind.

Over at Althouse blog this morning, she put up a post about a couple that Taliban killed for committing adultry. The woman was stoned to death, the man was shot:
The Taliban started throwing stones. We were also asked to throw stones. After a while, the Taliban left. The woman was dead but the man was still alive. Some Taliban then came and shot him three times. The Taliban warned villagers if anyone does anything un-Islamic, this will be their fate

Anyway, a commenter chimed in with this:

"Sounds like somebody could use an Islamic Center for Tolerance more than NYC."

That should be the basis of a rallying cry: "Build your temples of Islamic tolerance where they are needed most!"

What's with Obama saying "mooslim" instead of "muslim?". . . and "Tallyban?" It grates abit for me, sort of like tv anchors with Hispanic surnames exaggerating the pronunciation of Spanish names. Anyway, I don't think he practices ANY faith; he's too arrogant. But he sure has an acute awareness of how not to piss off the Mooslims and a tin ear when it comes to plain old American citizens. He showed this same arrogance when talking about Cambridge cops who acted "stupidly" and Arizona cops who were likely to arrest parents taking their kids out for ice cream and Pennsylvanians who "cling to their guns and religion." He oozes disdain for average Americans. So where's YOUR tolerance Mr. President?

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

Anonymous (above)- There is an exquisite irony in Barack Hussein Obama lecturing anyone on tolerance.

Suzy- Although all of his actions suggest he has Muslim sympathies, I don't think Obama believes in anything bigger than himself.

Alan- Remember, it isn't all stones that kill adulterers, just a few radical stones.

Maybe they'll build it and someone will blow it off the foundation bringing it down just as the twin towers were we can than build a pig farm on the once mosque location. Should like justice for all to me. Just make sure it full at prayer time and they're all facing Mecca with their butts in the air.

They should tell these idiot muslims to build they temple to their false god in the Nevada desert or death valley. We are truly a nation devide and of cowards. Listen and learn wimps

Come to http://www.americagonestupid.com and read all about the clown on the board in NY and the muslim mole wakko president that backs his brothers in more than one way.

The newest spin from the White House: Obama meant that they were allowed by the First Amendment to build the mosque at Ground Zero, but it might not be the wisest choice. The same thing that Sarah Palin said, except she was clearer. So why are the moonbats defending Obama and attacking Palin, other than reflex?
