Stilt, that first cartoon ..... I hope for that, but am not holding my breath! the second cartoon ..... sadly, I believe you are right!

Amen to that. Great supposed "rising star young conservative" in that Rubio. We elect folks, apparently, so that they can protect their "franchise" instead of our rights. And they lie, lie, lie to get the first so they can protect the second. Lets watch and see how the effort to recal Rubio goes.

So, what crimes would the B.O. Hussein be guilty of, and why isn't he already impeached and out of office?

George in Houtx said...

10lbsofcheese: what crimes? start with violating his oath of office. the various scandals going around .... maybe he didn't TELL anyone to do what they did, but, as the man in charge, he IS responsible. on those, he is either involved or incompetent. as for why he isn't impeached .... the House has to start proceedings. maybe they don't have enough evidence to convict ..... yet! at any rate, with Harry Reid and the Dems running the Senate, I wouldn't look for a conviction.

I'm sorry, but Obama is merely the metastasization of the disease that's been in our system for generations now. It's meaningless to toss his ilk in jail without doing the same to millions of other politically diseased Americans. Will never and can't happen.

Remember, America voted for him twice. In a sane America, the likes of Obama would have never escaped the college faculty lounge.

On a completely unrelated topic: Last week, our Progressive cool-aid drinking friend @Ted Brist said:

"Government funding starts with the science and ends with the answer (since they care about keeping people alive in reality). Corporate funding starts with the answer ("There is no global warming") and ends with the science (aka the ass they pulled that out of) that has nothing to with the truth (since they care exclusively about keeping their profits up)."

In response, I was amiss in not bringing a fine example of money corrupting the presumably uncorruptible, academia.

I bring what is a revealing nugget in the Penn State investigation of it's star "climate change" researcher, Micheal Mann for his involvement in the "climategate" scandal. Basically, Mann was cleared of all ethical wrongdoings by the same people who cleared everyone in the Sandusky/Paterno scandal, even though literally everyone from the university president down to the janitors knew that Sandusky was poking little boys in the shower. That Penn state cleared Graham Spanier and others in the know wasn't a big surprise. Penn State's football program represents a lot of money to Penn State. But so does "climate science".

In the report that exonerates Mann, we get this:

"This level of success in proposing research, and obtaining funding to conduct it, clearly places Dr. Mann among the most respected scientists in his field. Such success would not have been possible had he not met or exceeded the highest standards of his profession for proposing research."

So, since he is just sooo successful in getting government grants, then obviously, his science must be above reproach because the government would never give money to anyone incompetent or with an agenda, so we're not going to even bother looking into any of it.

Kinda like Madoff.

How about:

1) Legislating by executive order. Yes, all Presidents have issued executive orders, but BO has taken this practice to new (and most likely unconstitutional) heights.
2) Pushing Congress to pass gun control laws which clearly violate the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution that he has sworn (twice) to uphold.
3) Making back room deals with Russia to disarm our nuclear arsenal…. “After the election, I’ll have more ‘flexibility.’” He is supposed to the OUR Commander in Chief, not Russia’s.
4) Pushing for the UN’s Small Arms Treaty which is a clear violation of the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution that he has sworn (twice) to uphold.
5) Refusing to send help to our Ambassador and citizens who died fighting for their lives in Benghazi. It was more important to get some sleep for a fund raiser in Vegas.
6) Suing the State of Arizona and others for trying to enforce federal immigration laws. An extremely clear violation of the 10th Amendment.
7) Attempting to try foreign enemy combatants in civilian courts.
8) Spying on citizens… a clear violation of the 4th amendment that he has sworn (twice) to uphold.
9) Spying on the press… a clear violation of the 1st amendment that he has sworn (twice) to uphold.
10) Refusing to enforce or implement laws that he doesn’t like, such as existing border security laws.
11) Making snap judgments on local legal matters, i.e. Trayvon Martin case, or the Black Panther’s intimidating people at a polling place, or the “beer summit” fiasco….
12) Telling the American people that White House tours would stop because of the sequester, then spending more money than that to take a vacation. This is a fairly obvious lie.

Yes, most of these things were not directly done by Obama, but he is, after all, the Chief Executive and is ultimately responsible for EVERYTHING that goes on with the people that HE PICKED such as Holder, Clinton, Panetta, Jarrett, Rice...

Bottom line... Liberals were screaming "Impeach Bush" at the top of their lungs for years, and Obama has expotentially dialed up Bush's supposed wrondoings to stratospheric levels. My favorite is when BO lambasted Bush for accumulating (gasp) $4 trillion in additional debt in 8 years. Bush was a rookie by comparison.

Sorry for blathering; rant done.

No commentary? But I come here for the articles --

Meanwhile, similar to what JohntheEcon says -- basically, we're witnessing the end of the two party system, it's not just Obama and the Dems, it Boehner and the Repubs -- the elites think they're getting a one party system with them in control -- while the Socialists and Fundamentalists think they're going to resurrect what we never had -- while the Liberty Minded middle -- aka, some gov't, but not a lot -- will slowly come to the conclusion that the elites, and the two fringes are out of their minds --

So while most people are drifting "independent" -- they are really either opting out, or going Libertarian one way or the other -- it's undefined yet.

But it's not the end of America, it's just the end of the current times in America -- or will be within 2 more presidential terms. Maybe it'll get ugly, like during our Civil War, maybe it won't -- but what we have now is just not going to continue.

(on the unrelated issue, which is going to happen no matter what else, thanks for the nice comments from all on Friday)

It's easy to see,(if you open your eyes and mind), why Oworldtraveller would want to go to South Africa to honor Nelson Mandela; as they have at least two things in common: Socialist views and America hating. Oasskisser has forgotten that we will not forget. Here's a couple articles from a couple news sources:
National Post: 6-28-13

Although never claiming himself to be a Communist, Nelson Mandela by the 1950s acceded to the dialectical-materialist conception of history and was in that one respect, and that one respect only, a Marxist. It is fitting that this was so, the gradual political evolution of his long life not only arriving at the dialectic but illustrating it as well. Remember that the Marxist conception of history views political struggle as a contest rooted in material interests, and that the rival African nationalist theory (for a time held by Mandela himself) was that the African struggle was racial in character — that is, a battle in which whites were by definition the enemy. As the white, liberal and anti-apartheid South African novelist J.M. Coetzee noted, in a 1986 essay Waiting for Mandela, “if the South African regime had come to terms with the ANC in the 1950s, it would have been coming to terms with a fairly peaceable popular movement under petit-bourgeois, social democratic leadership. Instead it chose to brand the movement as subversive and its leaders as tools of international communism.”

Former President Nelson Mandela on Thursday called US President George W. Bush arrogant and shortsighted and implied he was racist for ignoring the UN in his zeal to disarm Iraq.
Mandela urged the people of the US to join massive protests against Bush and called on world leaders, especially those with vetoes in the UN Security Council, to unite to oppose him.
"One power with a president who has no foresight and cannot think properly is now wanting to plunge the world into a holocaust," Mandela said in a speech to the International Women's Forum.
White House spokesman Ari Fleischer responded to Mandela's criticism by pointing to a letter by eight European leaders reiterating their support for Bush.
"The president expresses his gratitude to the many leaders of Europe who obviously feel differently" than Mandela, Fleischer said. "He understands there are going to be people who are more comfortable doing nothing about a growing menace that could turn into a holocaust."
A Nobel Peace Prize winner, Mandela has repeatedly condemned US behavior toward Iraq in recent months and demanded Bush respect the authority of the UN. His comments Thursday, though, were far more critical and his attack on Bush far more personal than in the past.
"Why is the United States behaving so arrogantly?" he asked. "All that [Bush] wants is Iraqi oil," he said.
He accused Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair of undermining the UN and its head, Kofi Annan, who is from Ghana.
"Is it because the secretary-general of the United Nations is now a black man? They never did that when secretary-generals were white," he said.
Mandela said the UN was the main reason there has been no World War III and it should make the decisions on how to deal with Iraq.
The US, which dropped atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, had no moral authority to unilaterally police the world, he said.
"If there is a country that has committed unspeakable atrocities in the world, it is the United States of America. They don't care for human beings," he said.
"Who are they now to pretend that they are the policemen of the world, the ones that should decide for the people of Iraq what should be done with their government and their leadership?" he said.
He said Bush was "trying to bring about carnage" and appealed to the American people to vote him out of office and demonstrate against his policies.

@George in Houtx- Sadly, the first cartoon is simply Barry & Michelle touring a prison...but oh, doesn't it feel good to at least imagine they're behind bars for good?

And the second cartoon pretty much sums up my feelings about the immigration reform idiocy going on; the people who became citizens the hard way are being drowned out by the sheer numbers of illegals (and their supported) demanding rights and benefits they haven't earned.

@Emmentaler- Sadly, I think I was fooled by Marco Rubio (as were many others).

@10lbsofcheese- I'm slightly late to the party this morning, and see that others have warmed to your question already and given a substantial list of reasons.

@George in Houtx- The Senate would NEVER convict Barry of anything, which makes the whole impeachment question pretty moot. Darn it.

@John the Econ- You're right that Barry is just the tip of a huge, cancerous, America-hating, stupid, self-indulgent iceberg. He didn't create this horror show, he is simply the star.

And thank you for sharing the story of Mann, who is a successful and respected scientist based (apparently) solely on his ability to get grant money. By Ted Brist's standards, this would also indicate that prostitutes who bring in the most money must be respectable (and probably virgins).

@Colby- "Blathering?!" No sir, you've created a helluva good list and deserve only accolades. Although you're depressed the hell out of me. (wry grin)

@Jim Hlavac- With all of the great comments here, I wouldn't say there's "no commentary" today - I'm just letting other take the lead (and quite well, I might add).

You're right that things can not and will not continue in America as they currently are. And I do bet that it will get ugly.

And finally, there were some nice comments directed your way on Friday. I really like that about this group.

@David in SoCal- Thanks for sharing the enlightening articles about Nelson Mandela - and making explicit what Barry finds so appealing about him. The president loves Marxists, Marxism, and racial strife. And would like to bring more of it to America.

Just a throwback for for our friend Ted Birds Are So Smart Brist: Horrified birdwatchers see rare white-throated needletail fly into wind turbine. As much as you would like to believe that an eagle is so, so, smart - they're nowhere near as smart as even you... And chalk up another "victory" for wind energy, hey?

@Stilton,
Thank you for your kind words. I would actually love to find a list of obama's "accomplishments" that also listed confirmed and reliable references. My piddling list wass just from memory, and I know damn well the full list would not fit in this blog.

@Emmantaler,
Thank you for your post, but i tforces me to make an apology to Brother Ted. I posted the other day that Priuses were coal powered, and that is only partially true. Apparently some Priuses are White Throated Needletail and Eagle powered as well.

Colby said...

Correction... I posted that Chevy Volts ran on coal, not Priuses. Sorry. Priuses run on Liberal arrogance.

Just heard the news. The Democrats have a big problem come midterm elections. I bet I can bet on the topic of tomorrow's cartoon.

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@John the Econ- Well shoot; you WOULD have been right about the topic but I'd already prepped something else for tomorrow (non-topical but fun).

But I really can't just sit on the fact that Obamacare will be delayed until past the midterms "for the benefit of employers who need more time." I want the damn Obamacare bomb to go off by January 1st, 2014 in all its inglorious devastation!
