Suck It Up

Okay, okay - today's cartoon is pretty much of a placeholder. And why? Because Hope n' Change looked at all the current news stories and had to run away screaming.

Rolling Stone magazine celebrated the Boston Marathon Bomber as a hip new celebrity who was "failed" by his family and "fell into" radical Islam - guess he's just another victim, huh?

The Department of Justice has created a tip hotline for people to report any accusations or rumors that George Zimmerman has ever offended a black person, because that's as close as Eric Holder can legally come to actually calling for Zimmerman to be murdered by street mobs and get away with it.

Then there's the revelation that the still-hidden Benghazi survivors have been forced to sign nondisclosure agreements to withhold the facts of that terrible night from Congress, and the Pentagon has been lying when it claimed a senior officer had retired and couldn't be called to testify. Nope - just another element of the cover-up.

Meanwhile the search for answers about the coordinated IRS attack on the Tea Party (and widespread,  prima facie voter suppression by the government which may have tipped the presidential election) continues to reveal the involvement of highly-placed officials...getting closer and closer to the Whitehouse.

And sadly, none of the above will probably amount to a tinker's damn.

All of which is why Hope n' Change prefers to turn off the media for the rest of the day, dunk a non-union Twinkie into a glass of Glenmorangie, and say "TGIF" to the week in news...and the horse it rode in on.

FRIDAY BONUS: Obama tries to kick off pre-vacation race war! What an asshole!
Maybe security knew that he takes things he never intends to pay for...

Thanks to this president, we are now officially "post racial-healing."

Putting His Cart Before The Hearse

Egypt is in chaos, our economy is a mess, there is still no accountability for the successful terror attack in Benghazi, "Fast & Furious" guns are still turning up in the murders of law enforcement personnel, Obamacare's major provisions are turning out to be unworkable and, oh yeah, Barack Hussein Obama has made it clear that he believes the FBI, the Florida police, and an impartial jury were all wrong in their belief that George Zimmerman is not a child-murdering racist - thereby helping kick off protests and racial violence around the country.

So what can this busy president do now? Go on vacation, of course! Yes, even though his family has only been back from their African frivolities for a few weeks, they're already packing their suitcases for another luxury stay in Martha's Vineyard, where they can swim, golf, dine at 5-star restaurants, and find other taxpayer-funded ways to solemnly honor the memory of Trayvon Martin.

Who, it now seems, may have been beating the hell out of George Zimmerman not out of personal fear, but because he thought Zimmerman might have been Gay.

Of course, there's no political benefit for Barry or Eric Holder to defend a man who may have been killed (in jury-certified self-defense) while perpetrating a violent hate crime, so we can expect for the racism angle to continue to be propagated by this administration ad nauseum.

When it's not on vacation, of course.

Circle Jerk

In the wake of the George Zimmerman "not guilty" verdict, Barack Hussein Obama - the man who helped kickstart the racial antagonism of the case - has made an official statement about what all Americans should now do to honor Trayvon Martin. Specifically, the president says we should go outside on a dark night and smash our heads repeatedly on the sidewalk until we feel consciousness, if not life itself, slipping away.

Just kidding! What he actually said makes way less sense than that, though has much the same effect on the contents of your skull.

But before we get into actual analysis of the president's dunderheaded and potentially inflammatory political posturing, let's take a moment to reflect on the Trayvon Martin case. It is entirely possible that Trayvon was a scared kid who believed he had to attack Zimmerman in order to protect himself - which would certainly add to the tragedy of his death. But it is also true that, after being attacked, Zimmerman felt the need to defend himself - and, according to a jury, did so within the confines of the law.

So, what did the president have to say? That the death of Trayvon Martin was a "tragedy for America" (ergo, Zimmerman can't possibly have been in the right) and that "we should ask ourselves if we're doing all we can to widen the circle of compassion and understanding in our own communities." Because asking ourselves meaningless questions about how wide our "compassion circles" are will really, really help bring down the number of bullet-riddled Black Americans turning up in Chicago's morgues.

The president also hinted rather unconvincingly that post-trial violence isn't a good idea, saying that "we are a nation of laws, and a jury has spoken" - which pretty clearly says "I don't agree with the jury, but hey - what the hell can you do?"

Sadly, the answer is - he can do a lot, because there are reports that the Department of Alleged Justice is now considering filing new charges against Zimmerman because the administration doesn't think enough damage has been done to the nation's race relations yet.

And can any of us actually take Barry seriously when he says this is "a nation of laws," considering he doesn't bother to honor or uphold those laws if they relate to Obamacare, immigration, gun trafficking, budgets or, like his late not-quite-son, recreational drug use?

Obama also said that "we should ask ourselves, as individuals and as a society, how we can prevent future tragedies like this. As citizens, that's a job for all of us." And, we should point out, the first job actually created under this reprehensible boob in the past 5 years.

But why is he even telling us what we should ask ourselves? Are we, the American people, now universally guilty of some deep moral failing that Barry sees in us, but we've failed to address? Hope n' Change thinks not - and deeply resents the implication.

Better that we should ask ourselves, as individuals and as a society, why we tolerate a race-baiting president who offers meaningless rhetorical pap when what our nation really needs is healing and leadership.
