Unsinkable

Despite the president's attacks on Arizona's immigration laws and law enforcement officers, as well as his assertion that there is a tremendous need for immediate "immigration reform," Obama has decided to take it off the table for now because he doesn't think Congress has "an appetite for it."
Rather, he thinks that Congress should work on something much more urgent than uncontrolled border violence, drug cartels, sex slavery, murders, and millions of people in limbo. Of course, we're talking about the Energy Tax, which is urgent because...uh...because...hang on, there must be a reason...oh yeah! It's urgent because it gives the government more power and money!
Which they will use, of course, to buy deckchairs.

Mahalo for Nothing

The state of Hawaii has now passed legislation allowing them to ignore all requests to see Barack Hussein Obama's actual birth certificate. Which seems like a funny kind of law to pass in a state that should be dealing with economic woes, crushing unemployment, and doctor shortages - but hey, their priorities are their own business.
News services continue to gloss over the fact that Obama's widely published "Certification of Live Birth" is not a birth certificate, and that the only proof of the original document's existence is a sworn statement by a single individual in Hawaii that she once peeked into the lockbox and saw the real thing.
And if that's not enough proof that Obama is qualified for the most powerful job in the world, well, you can just get your damn pineapple somewhere else!
Meanwhile, the president continues to whip up hatred against Arizona for requiring proof of US citizenship. Although if any liberal protestors visit Hawaii's USS Arizona Memorial carrying signs with swastikas, they'd better be prepared for a long swim back to shore. The veterans who guide the solemn tour are getting older...but unlike the president, they're still willing to fight for this country.

Wide Open Spaces

Officials in San Francisco plan to boycott Arizona in response to that state's highly controversial new immigration law which shockingly declares that "illegal" means "not legal," and further asserts that police officers should "enforce laws." Oh, the humanity!
The financial impact of such a boycott has not yet been determined, as there is no record that anyone in San Francisco has ever even considered visiting Arizona. Still, citizens of Arizona are taking the boycott seriously, and are said to be dancing in the streets.
Meanwhile, the liberals who warned that Tea Partiers wearing 3-cornered hats and waving American flags could "spark violence" continue to sponsor rallies in which Nazi swastikas are paraded, while the president dangerously foments fear and anger by telling the mobs that enforcement of immigration law will lead to "police abuses."
Oh, Obama. We wish we could quit you.

Papers, Por Favor

The Governor of Arizona says she signed the nation's toughest immigration bill into law because "We cannot sacrifice our safety to the murderous greed of drug cartels. We cannot stand idly by as drophouses, kidnappings and violence compromise our quality of life." Additionally, Arizona - like many other southwestern states - faces crushing financial problems associated with the unchecked flood of illegal aliens.
Arizona police will now have the right - indeed, the responsibility - to ask for proof of legitimate immigration papers when they have reasonable cause to suspect that someone is in the country illegally. Put another way, the Arizona police will be empowered to enforce immigration laws that Federal law agencies have chosen to ignore.
Although police routinely and appropriately ask all Americans for proof of identity, vehicle registration, and place of residence, the additional ability to ask to see proof of legal immigration is being attacked as "racial profiling."
Barack Obama has strongly criticized the Arizona law, and declares that such enforcement "undermines the trust between police and their communities that is so crucial to keeping us safe.''
But isn't this the same "trust" that was severely undermined when the president declared last July (regarding the Cambridge police) that "there is a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately, and that’s just a fact.”
Perhaps "Trust," along with "Hope" and "Change," should be retired as meaningless and empty words until someone with greater integrity is in the Whitehouse. And until then, we salute Arizona for attempting to restore the meaning of words like "law" and "enforcement."
Update: Angry protesters, some carrying signs accusing the government of Nazi-like behavior, assaulted an opposing demonstrator, then threw objects at police officers, a firetruck, and an ambulance. Dangerous "Tea Party" types on the rampage? Nope - these were hardcore liberals, which is why the media gave the mini-riot the laughably feel-good headline "Immigration Protest is Mostly Peaceful."
Update 2: Just to make sure that racial hatred is stoked to dangerous levels, Barack Obama told Hispanic citizens "if you don't have your papers and you took your kid out to get ice cream, you're going to be harassed." When the president is declaring the police to be the enemy of the people, can total chaos be far off?

The White To Remain Silent
Click Cartoon for Larger Size
As mid-term elections approach, Barack Hussein Obama has announced his plans for "Vote 2010," and his cynical desire to "reconnect with young people, African-Americans, Latinos, and women."
We assume that he'd have to "reconnect" because these are the people who (foolishly) believed in him last time, and who - according to polls - have grown increasingly disillusioned by his actual job performance.
But putting that aside, why wouldn't the president want to appeal to all Americans...or even refer to us as "Americans" instead of continually breaking us into competing ethnic and demographic factions?
Sadly, the answer is the same as it was in 2008. The "post-racial" politics of Barack Obama have always been, and always will be, based on race and the inciting of racial discord in America...not for the purpose of ending racism, but rather to use hatred and resentment to fuel the engines that are pushing the country into socialism.
In this, at least, the president is fully "transparent."

A Lean Piece With No Fatwa

The creators of "South Park," always happy to create controversy and celebrate free speech, used the occasion of their 201st episode to pose an interesting, and potentially dangerous, question.
Islam forbids the display of any picture of Mohammed...so those rapscallions at "South Park" showed someone inside (and completely concealed by) a bear costume. Was it supposed to be Mohammed? The show teases...but leaves it unclear.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone susequently received threats, not for showing a picture of Mohammed, but for creating a premise that invited people to imagine a picture of Mohammed.
In so doing, they not only bravely defended freedom of speech...they also revealed the agenda of those who would threaten freedom of thought.
Hope n' Change Hint: For those who don't quite "get" the tip of the hat to South Park's "now you see him, now you don't" strategy, try reading the last four words of today's cartoon aloud.

Senior Momentum
Click Cartoon for Larger Size
According to the experts at the Health and Human Services Department, Obamacare will - astoundingly - not reduce costs, not improve the quality of medical care, not be "deficit neutral," and will have a significant negative effect on senior citizens - possibly jeopardizing their access to healthcare.
Previous government cost estimates by the Congressional Budget Office were required to use numbers, assumptions, and guesstimates which were provided by the Democrats. The new study, however, uses cost estimates based on something called "reality," and arrives at conclusions than are wildly different than what Barack Obama and the Dems promised.
The Medicare cuts the president is counting on to pay for the new entitlement program are "unrealistic and unsustainable," and the report suggests that 1-in-7 providers of medical services for the elderly could be driven into bankruptcy. In fact, the cumulative effect on older Americans is so bad that one expert has likened Obamacare to a "war on seniors."
Fortunately, that's a war that seniors are well-equipped to fight, being one of the largest blocks of voters in the country. Let's just hope no "senior moments" interfere with the need to "Remember in November."
UPDATE: We've now learned that this report was available for review before Obamacare was passed into law...but the budget-busting truths were buried to avoid "affecting the voting." The promised "savings" were always a lie, and the Democrats knew it.
