The Jong and the Restless
Kids grow up so fast these days. It seems only yesterday that little Kim Jong-Un (son of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Il) was learning to drive, nervously going on a first date, and visiting the "Dad & Lad" store to buy his first XXXL leisure suit. And now, in another rite of passage, the presumed leader-to-be of North Korea ordered the bombardment of South Korea while sneering at the United States.
The portly 27-year old was said to be touring the facility which shelled South Korea shortly before the attack, calling into question whether he was really listening when his father said "you can look, but don't touch anything."
Despite the fact that previous provocations from Kim Jong-Il have generated no significant response from Barack Obama, the shelling of South Korea has caused the American president to unleash his much-feared "strategic patience," issue a broadside of statements sending "a clear message of restraint," and there is talk...quietly, fearfully...that as a measure of last resort, the president will consider the use of his frowny face.
In all seriousness, the situation is extremely volatile and dangerous, and the world is now holding its breath. All of which illustrates the danger of letting children run militarily powerful countries.
On either side of the globe.

I don't see Kim Jong as a major threat. He seems to have to have a sincere pride and respect for his people and his nation. I can't help but wonder what he really is dealing with on a day to day basis.
I think this cartoon sums it up, he is more or less a child running a country and unfortunately he is placed right between China and the U.S.A.
I can't even being to imagine what is really going on inside his head.
Just to make that clear, I don't see Kim Jong as a threat, but rather the position the country is in as a threat. So if not being qualified or being a good enough leader to solve the North Korean issues in a rational manner, is a threat, then okay, he is a testament as to why dictatorships are a big problem. And it does appear to be in a totalitarian state.
Hmmm, I seem to remember somebody saying something about us living in a dangerous world, governed by the aggressive use of force. Darn, I wish I could remember who said that, but I'll bet he's right about 98.7 percent of the time.
As the World Turns I hope they both end up in General Hospital.

But I bet when they do the U. S. Tax Payers will pay the bill because Obama always takes care of his buddies or is that Comrades.
The way North Korea is run would be laughable if it were not so dangerous. Remember, they are merely a puppet of Red China for the most part. I know they are referred to as just "China" nowdays, but do not forget it is still a totally communist country, a country that we are in DEBT up to our eyeballs currently, and a very powerful, godless country with nukes.
pryorguy- Perhaps our greatest defense against China these days is that they basically already own us. Unfortunately, North Korea doesn't really bring logic to the table and has a history of being flat out crazy (and having their craziness rewarded by presidents like Bill Clinton). All kidding aside, the situation is genuinely frightening.
for 1000 years people faced with torture and the worst imaginable deaths chose a swift one instead. Do NOT leave your families to die under the "care" of the democratic party. Kill yourself, your children and grandchildren. You cannot fight the combined stupidity of the A----s that elected the "popular professor" who smoked cigarettes and told great stories instead of teaching. He didn't let his grannie suffer. That lady who needed a pacemaker to live 10-15 years? He told her daughter what to do ----DEATH. Abortion, Euthanasia...we don't plan for living out our lives anymore... we sign up to our "EXIT STRATEGY"
Remember "Dreams from OUR father" should be the same as Barrack Hussein Obama Senior. Get good and drunk and drive 110 miles an hour into a solid wall. Give me Liberty or GIVE ME DEATH. Well ....LIBERTY is OUTLAWED.... so DEATH is the other, better option.

Pyro - Speaking of "debt"
I'd like to see / find numbers to confirm this, but I've heard it said that the INTEREST on the debt, that we pay to China, some $300B / year, is roughly equivalent to their military budget. Now, I don't have hard info on either a) what we're paying them or b) what their mil budget is, but I *do* know we're giving them a cubi-metric BUTTLOAD of cash...
and that's just frigg'n wrong.
in SO many ways.
We NEED to STOP the EFFING spending!!!!
I'm reasonably sure that if Barry Hussien will put on his "frowny face" the problem will be solved.
