Barack ORambo

The line separating entertainment from politics has always been thin, but the Obama administration is now helping to erase it entirely.

The Whitehouse has given SONY Studios (who recently hosted a fundraiser for the president) "unprecedented access" to information about the Seal Team 6 mission to kill Osama bin Laden, in order to help make sure that a film of the one and only success of the Obama administration meets a suspiciously-convenient release date of October 12, 2012...
just days before the presidential election.

Barack Obama, who has previously refused to let the American public see meaningful video or photos from the mission, apparently feels that the matter will be handled more
tastefully and accurately on an IMAX 3D screen with a full symphonic score...no doubt with a pumped-up Denzel Washington playing the president (dressed in something other than the golf outfit Obama was really wearing) and barking orders to the otherwise clueless military.

Of course, using the Navy Seals to prop up his flagging political fortunes is nothing new for this president. On Tuesday, Mr. Obama flew to Dover Air Force base to meet the incoming bodies of the Navy Seals who were killed in Afghanistan when a rocket propelled grenade downed their helicopter. The families of the fallen didn't want any pictures taken, and so the event was closed to news media and even Pentagon photographers. But deciding to screw the families of the dead, the Whitehouse publicity team managed to snap a picture of Obama "saluting" the coffins (although it looks much more like he's thumbing his nose) and release it as the Whitehouse "Picture of the Day."

As sickening as all of this is,
Hope n' Change would like to think that the upcoming film presents an opportunity for conservatives to vote against Barack Hussein Obama twice in 2012.

Once at the ballot box...and once at the box office.

Coming way too soon to a screen near you.

Words you will never hear uttered in the White House, 2009 - 2012: "You know, Mr. President, this may be a bad idea".
What kind of environmental toxin could exist there that would cause all their testicles to shrivel and fall off...or could it be that they all share Obama's view of himself; as the firstborn of Zeus and heir to Olympus? I understand wanting to surround yourself with people who share your vision, but sharing your hallucinations??!

Earl said...

Oh, let's share all the success secrets of our Navy Seals force. This is treasonous.

Colby said...

...and just when you thought he couldn't stoop any lower. This is very disturbing and disgraceful. I'm with Earl; treasonous!

I wish no ill will to Ms. Bigelow and Sony; they are just making a film that we knew would eventually happen, but is Al Queda really going to stand back and let the film happen?

Watching the Republican debates last night, I found my self favoring this or that candidate; but in the end, they are ALL 10,000% better than what we have right now.

Why doesn't Obama resign the presidency and play himself? This way he can be the center of attention and go golfing. He's more an actor than a thinker anyway, and he's good at reading cue cards. Still, with all the unemployed around, I'm sure they'll forgo the opportunity to see the movie, since they'll be wary of spending $10 at the theater.

This alleged president sickens me more and more each day.

When I heard about this the other day, I dismissed the impact that the movie would have - figured not that many people would see it. In retrospect, I underestimated the role that the media will play. Pre-release, release, and post-release, all the news shows will play bits of the movie. Anyone want to bet on which part(s) will get played over and over? And which part(s) will go viral on YouTube?

Stilton, when I saw this on the news the other day, I thought of you right away & your treatment is exactly what I expected. When the time comes (when the media starts playing the "hero" thing), Johnny Optimism needs to be put on a medical leave of absence so that you can crank out your new "Barack ORambo" comic strip series!

Really want to be sickened? Did you catch this level of delusion that still exists amongst the Obamatons? This is Stephen Marche in Esquire, "How Can We Not Love Obama?":

Can we just enjoy Obama for a moment? Before the policy choices have to be weighed and the hard decisions have to be made, can we just take a month or two to contemplate him the way we might contemplate a painting by Vermeer or a guitar lick by the early-seventies Rolling Stones or a Peyton Manning pass or any other astounding, ecstatic human achievement? Because twenty years from now, we're going to look back on this time as a glorious idyll in American politics, with a confident, intelligent, fascinating president riding the surge of his prodigious talents from triumph to triumph. Whatever happens this fall or next, the summer of 2011 is the summer of Obama.

I can only hope he's one of the screenwriters.

As a Colts fan, the Payton Manning comparison was especially galling. Manning, or any good quarterback, seeks to move his team in a positive direction, thereby helping the whole team to win. Often they make great personal sacrifices to achieve this. There is no comparison. Obama is a fumbling stumble-bum who couldn't pass gas without soiling himself.

Angry Hoosier Dad said...

Damn...how could I have written "Payton" when I know so well it's "Peyton". Shame on me.

John the Econ:

Yeah, there's got to be something wrong with me too. For some reason, I never could "get up" a man-crush for Obama. I thought maybe it's because of my age (late 50's). Hopefully, 20 years from now, thanks to ObamaCare, there will be some kind of pill available so that we can "look back on this time as a glorious idyll in American politics, with a confident, intelligent, fascinating president riding the surge of his prodigious talents from triumph to triumph".

Pretty desperate move.
1.His Kumbiyah pacifist base is very conflicted about the whole Osama affair, and any posing as CiC stirs that troublesome cognitive-dissonance pot. He was supposed to have all traces of Bush militarism erased by now. Instead, more coffins, more salutes?
2. Too late to con the disillusioned Independents again.
3. The patriot vote these photos are geared to are beyond his reach.

Multiple Fail. Winner: Hilary, who is still waiting in the wings, smelling blood and calculating her odds...

@Readers- It's always interesting to see which news stories touch a nerve...and this one obviously did. It's just wrong on so many levels. And do we really need to see Obama's linen-wrapped body being gently slipped into the sea while Celine Dion sings "My Heart Will Go On"?

@Angry Hoosier Dad- "Sharing your hallucinations" sums it up nicely. Or maybe rather than hallucinations, "insanity."

@Earl- Obama knows that there's no harm in revealing the Seals' operational secrets because they'll be defunded and disbanded when the Deficit Cutting Supercommittee comes to its inevitable gridlock, and the Defense budget is automatically slashed.

@Colby- I don't blame Hollywood for being Hollywood (well, no more than I usually do), but the Whitehouse shouldn't be involved in filmmaking when the country is falling apart. Though there's an argument to be made for involving Obama in anything but running the country.

@Jim Hlavac- I like the idea of Barack Obama playing himself. Which, when you think about it, is a lot like playing with himself.

@Cookie- You've got a lot of company.

@Alan Markus- When the time comes, I'll happily get Barack ORambo out of the mothballs. But Johnny Optimism won't go on hiatus; the more screwed up the world gets, the more his outlook is needed.

@John the Econ- The "How Can We Not Love Obama" article is genuinely nauseating. The Left is so blind that they still don't see that they don't actually love Obama and never did - they love themselves for electing a black president. And (as exemplified by Mr. Marche's words) it's the sort of self-love that "will make you go blind." In fact, it already has.

@Colby- The casting game could be fun and I like your choices. And "Peter Mayhew"...? Now that's funny!

@Andrew- I'm genuinely surprised that there's not been more of a surge among Democrats to draft Hillary for a primary challenge to Obama. If she would just settle on one hairstyle, I think she'd have a good shot.

@Howlsatmoon- I wonder how hard it would be for me to sell coffeeproof keyboard covers in the Hope n' Change Gift Shoppe?

Now if we can only get a screenwriter and producer interested in getting out a movie based on the controversial story, 'leaked by a White House insider' that a few of the officials in his administration, who were dealing with Al Qaeda issues, wearied of trying to get Valerie Jarrett's approval for Obama to okay a raid on a months-long-known location of Osama, did this raid on their own and hauled the Niblick-in-Chief in from the golf course to be visibly present at the denouement and be given the credit to assuage a furious Jarrett. Be an interesting double feature, wouldn't it?

It sickens me that team obama is using the bodies of servicemen killed in action as props to score cheap political points.

It disgusts me that servicemen are further endangered to make a propaganda film with the intent to boost obama's sagging reelection chances.

I wouldn't walk across the street to piss on obama and his cronies if they were on fire.

(Note: I made this same comment to a similar post by OldNFO. I thought I would recycle it here in the name of Al Gore.)

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@A Nonny Mouse- That's the film I want to see, and that's the story that I find the most credible. I firmly believe that the raid on Osama bin Laden took place only because the president was out of options, and the story would come out that we knew where Osama was...and Obama was about to him get away.

@Graylady- I sincerely hope his rotten corpse was defiled before disposal, and I sometimes enjoy imagining how.

@CenTexTim- Using the bodies of servicemen as props is nothing new to Obama. Remember when he delayed making a decision about sending additional troops for months (and months) and then staged a late night picture in which he was saluting flag-draped coffins (again against the wishes of the mourning families) to show that his delay was because he took the matter so seriously.

And yet, when our servicepeople were slaughtered at Fort Hood, Barack Hussein Obama cared so little that his words about the deaths had to wait until he'd tossed his jovial "shout out" to his Native American pal.

He has no respect for our military, or our dead.

Dang! I forgot to cast the main character.

Barry O; Jaleel White

And, My Dog Brewski,
Don Knotts would be a perfect Biden; so would Jerry Howard, but he too is unfortunately not with us anymore.

Bruce In KC said...

This has me angry on so many levels....he is putting many more lives in danger for a patently obvious re-election infomercial. This last week four members of our community died in the Taliban shootdown of the Chinook helicopter. Three of them from the Army Reserve unit literally a few short blocks from my home. This community is numb. And this asshole wants to use the return of their remains to American soil as a photo-op?

November 2012 cannot get here fast enough. Let's hope more communities don't get through this travesty between now and then.

Bruce In KC said...

oops, rentend fingers. Last sentence should be "get put through this travesty between now and then" You may all return to your regularly scheduled programming, already in progress.

Andrew said...

Casting: Not even the great Don Knotts could do much with Joe Biden as a character--too flat, too uninteresting, too alcohol-deadened to be interesting. Talk about an empty suit; a loudmouth gladhander who can't hold his liquor.

As for that interesting vision of 'Obama's body slipping beneath the waves'--unfortunately, in salt water, most feces just float.

And cause he knew he doesn't have high enough approval ratings like "Slick Willy" had back when he did it.

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@badlarry- Also, the stakes were a bit lower for "Slick Willy" in the pre-9/11 days. And do we all remember exactly when Clinton decided to stage his cruise missile attack - and interrupt network broadcasting to tell us about it? It was the day that Monica Lewinsky was giving grand jury testimony and Der Schlickmeister needed a BIG distraction. Like blowing the hell out of an aspirin factory.

@Doc-N.Nevada- Okay, "blowing the hell" wasn't intended as a double entendre...but maybe it's one of those Freudian slips that I've been having today. By the way, the date of Monica's testimony and Clinton's sudden desire to start firing missiles was Aug 20, 1998.

in re: the WH picture

1. Obama salutes. Looks more like either Kim Jong-Il or Adolf Schickelgruber.

2. Civilians to Obama's left have hands over hearts, possibly appropriate for those without military experience.

3. Probable military officer (based on headgear) to their left just standing: To me (both career military and a service brat), it seems as if the timing of the "salute" was for the photo-op, and not appropriate to receiving the honored dead. If it were the right time to salute, the military officer would've been rendering a proper one.

That's my opinion, and y'all are welcome to it!

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@Jazz- We're very much on the same page. If Obama is the only one saluting, you know it's totally staged.

moronpolitics said...

I have no problem with this as long as it is considered part of his election campaign and subject to the type of limits on spending that Obama has ALWAYS championed. It that is how it is handled about 5 minutes into the flick all his electioneering money will be used up and he will have to stop ALL ads, speeches and public appearances until after the election.

WAIT. That would probably HELP him.

robsan19 said...

Just a reminder to all, as I am NOT a supporter of this president, it was Ronald Reagan who began saluting the military as the President. He was criticized in the press for doing so, but as I recall, it was justified because he was the Commander in Chief. Since then, all have continued the practice. As a retired military man, at first I thought the practice was inappropriate, because the hand salute is a form of respect rendered between two military individuals, and at the time Reagan had never served. But I saw him rendering the salute in response to a military individual's salute, and the Commander in Chief explanation made sense to me, so I felt it was appropriate. What I don't recall is Reagan saluting in ANY situation other than returning the salute from a military individual.

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@Moronpolitics- At this point there's a pretty good track record showing that the more Obama speaks, the less popular he gets. I'm not sure if the same holds true for his slickly produced campaign materials.

@Robsan19- In principle, I don't have a problem with this, or any, president saluting troops - including those who have fallen. I do have a problem if it's staged as a photo-op, and the jackass can't bother to lift his thumb higher than his nose.

As a qualified hypnotherapist and a cautious listener to Roy Masters I strongly suggest that anytime you are talking to an Obama supporter ( AKA a Codpiece) you use a peremptory tone saying the words "WAKE UP" at least three times during your conversation. "WAKE UP" I am NOT joking. Many of these people are deeply entranced. "WAKE UP" That was just in case some of them are reading here, unlikely as that is. I have, BTW decided to move past my one little blog and make some other web pages. Anyone will suggestions on templates and page builders please let me know. @robsan19,
While he didn't serve overseas, Ronald Reagan most certainly DID serve in the Army Air Corps in WWII. And unlike Slick Willie Clinton and Barack Hussein, Reagan always had--and showed--respect for military personnel. Supposedly, at the end of his second term, Slick started to develop a touch of respect for those in uniform. Barack Hussein has always at least faked the respect.

I'll concede that you are technically correct that Reagan served in the military during WWII. However, it was for PR purposes for the most part as a member of the Motion Picture division.
