Memorial Day 2015

obama, obama jokes, political, humor, cartoon, conservative, hope n' change, hope and change, stilton jarlsberg, memorial day

No politics today. Only humility, awe and gratitude for those in uniform who gave everything for this nation. Their loss is unfathomable; their gift to us immeasurable. Let us each strive to be worthy as we celebrate and defend their legacy.

Went to White House.gov to see if the POS POTUS even acknowledged Memorial Day and watched a short video of him darting his eyes back and forth to the teleprompter while he spoke of only those who died in Afganistan as if it was the only war in which US troops were lost. He actually is planning a visit to Arlington today where I am sure he will use the opportunity to say how great he was for supposedly ending the war in that country.

We have the Air Force Academy, Fort Carson, Peterson Field, NORAD, Schriever AFB, and a plethora of military families in our area. I have ample opportunities to thank the members and their families for their service to our country. Obviously, the ones in uniform have the greater responsibility and danger, but the spouse and kiddos play an important role, and I shake the hands and thank each of them for their part in the scheme of things. I also add; "YOU are the ONLY reason I pay my taxes with a smile on my face!" They seem to appreciate that sentiment and every one also reply with humility and gratitude for the chance to serve.
I would suggest others who have the opportunity to thank individual service members to do so in order to bolster the morale of our fighting forces.
