When The Going Gets Tough

obama, obama jokes, political, humor, cartoon, conservative, hope n' change, hope and change, stilton jarlsberg, iran, ransom, hostages, vacation, martha's vineyard, kerry

In this tumultuous and wildly volatile political season, it's almost refreshing to see that some things never change. In this case, the fact that the Obama family is winging their way to yet another taxpayer funded multi-million dollar 5-star vacation in Martha's Vineyard and coincidentally getting the hell out of Dodge just as fresh feces is hitting the fan.

In this case, the word "coincidental" is central to at least one bit of that fan-flung poop. Specifically, the claim by the White House that it was only coincidental that the Obama administration flew $400 million in untraceable cash to Iran, after which the regime released a handful of hostages for no particular reason whatsoever outside of being, in the president's words, "really swell guys."

Even Obama's DOJ Department was against the transfer, saying that it would look exactly (and perhaps accurately) like a ransom payment - a feeling shared by Iran's mullahs who declared to their ululating masses in the streets that this was absolutely ransom money. And for that matter, the American hostages were given the same impression.

All of this is being flatly denied by Secretary of State John Kerry, who asserts "the United States does not pay ransom and does not negotiate ransoms," whether it be to cash-hungry state sponsors of international terror or our other mortal enemies, radicalized air conditioners and refrigerators.

Also in the news as Barry heads out to the golf courses is his unprecedented commutation of hundreds of federal sentences for prisoners who were in the pokey for (ahem) mostly low level drug offenses.  Granted, many violent criminals plead guilty to lower level drug offenses in exchange for not being tried for their bigger crimes...but that's hardly the president's concern.

In fact, this president seems concerned with very little other than making sure his freeloading family takes full advantage of their last opportunity to hobnob with the rich and famous while sending the very considerable bill to the working schlubs of America.

All of whom are, in the president's eyes, low level offenders.

This cartoon is from 2009.  Did we call it, or did we call it?

Speaking of Martha's Vineyard, one of Obama's daughters is working in a restaurant there. Making, I gather, a tiny fraction of what it costs to keep her Secret Service contingent there.

And a tiny fraction of the $900,000/yr job Hillary created for her daughter fresh out of college.

The stench of corruption in Washington DC is so overpowering that, even here in the Rockies, I have to check each day to be sure my septic system is still working. Perhaps it will become enough to wake the patriots across the river in Arlington Cemetery. That may be our last chance to exact revenge on the vile oligarchy who now rule the serfs without regard to law or propriety.

He could have given ALL the American citizens 1 million dollars each and still have money left over and yet we're told there is not enough money to fund things like SS, etc. BS all BS. Will this insanity ever end?

Colby Muenster said...

And then there's the damning evidence in the recording of one of the hostages saying they were told they would not be released until the "other" airplane arrived.

But fear not, libtards; this too shall pass unnoticed by the press, the FBI, the CIA and 99.9% of DC bureaucrats.

@Mike aka Proof,
Maybe the daughter will wear short shorts and shake her ass for all the customers!

Has anybody made a chart comparing this president's vacation time and cost to the taxpayers with other presidents? Just wondering........ Oh look, SUVs coming up my driveway. Speaking of which, I just read that a Veteran was arrested for a facebook post critical of the president. Izzat true?

Meanwhile, the president's daughter Malaria demonstrated the dignity and respect that is such an important part of the First Family's appearance by showing her butt and rubbing it on other young ladies while twerking at a concert in Chicago during the DNC.

you misunderstand something. obama HAD to send untraceable cash. ISIS won't accept bitcoin.

@ Geoff: WOW! If she's really the dics daughter, her grandma's DNA really shows.

@Mike aka Proof- I actually support the idea of the youngest Obama daughter doing entry-level work even if it makes no sense economically. There are values learned that way which her parents never seemed to absorb.

@Wahoo- I find Chelsea's shortcut to wealth appalling. Honest work in a restaurant (as I've done more than once) is worth applauding.

@TrickyRicky- That's a wonderful fantasy.

@Judi King- I'm not quite sure where you're getting that "everyone could get a million dollars" number, because logically it just ain't so. If you take the total amount of tax revenue the government collects in a year and divide it by the number of citizens, you'll get a number more like $9000. Currently, MANY Americans are already receiving more than that in benefits...which is why we owe more and more, even without considering all the waste and fraud.

@Colby Muenster- In my commentary today, if you follow the link about the hostages it will take you to that very story: they were kept waiting in a jet until the ransom showed up on another jet.

Regarding the presidential daughters, the one who is doing honest work is not to be confused with her older ("legal," in Bill Clinton's parlance) sister who shook her ass and, coincidentally, got "work experience" by interning on Lena Dunham's show "Girls," which graphically introduced analingus to home viewers.

@Fred Ciampi- I've seen stats, and believe that Barry's expenses for vacations are higher than usual. I'll also note that when George W. Bush went on "vacation" it was usually to a ranch in Crawford where he engaged in physical labor, kept a low profile, and continued doing presidential work. He did NOT rent mansions, visit 5-star restaurants, or arrange elaborate outings and parties with celebrities and the influential.

As far as someone being arrested for a Facebook post, I haven't heard about it. Although I DO keep an eye peeled for black vans while walking Penny, the official dog of Hope n' Change.

@Geoff King- I actually posted a link to the little ass-waggler in my previous commentary. I can't pretend to get too outraged about it - she's young, she's pretty, and she's probably had a weird upbringing always surrounded by security. In my heart of hearts, I'm hoping she'll someday write a scorch-the-earth tell-all about what assholes her parents are.

@jlw- Apparently there are convoluted ways that an electronic delivery of funds could have taken place...but those funds would subsequently be traceable if they went to terrorists. Giant stacks of cash, less so.

@Judi King- Are you referring to the alleged nekkid photos of Obama's mother, or do you know something about Michelle's mom that I don't?

I guess I am behind the curve here, nothing unusual there, but there are Travel Restriction on Iran. You go there it's at your own risk. So why in the Hades are the taxpayers picking up a $400,000,000 Tab? I would sell my kids for a lot less.
(After they had them a day, I could buy them back at a discount). This makes absolutely no sense in any respect and then the administration from top to bottom lying their keisters off. This was just an excuse to give terrorist a sheit pot full of money to kill us?

Judi King said...

Approx. 300 million American citizens. 400 million sent to Iran.
Yes, I was referring to the pics of dic's mother. Not alleged. His natural children may be alleged though.

Geoff King said...

@ Judi: sorry sis, but that only works out to $1.33 each person, same as if 3 people split $4.

Imagine the following: A voice over the phone says "It's a go.". Soon after, unmarked panel vans pass through a guarded chain link gate and proceed to a quiet corner of an airport and approach an unmarked jet with a crew of nondescript workers loading pallets loaded with cash in various denominations. The plane then departs off into the night to make its shadowy delivery.

Sounds like fiction out of a James Bond-like movie. But it's not. It's how our government operates today, with our "public servants" operating like James Bond supervillans.

And when all of this is discovered, our "public servants" say, "No, it's not like that at all. There was nothing untoward happening here. It's all just coincidence." And we're supposed to believe that just like we're supposed to believe the hundreds-of-millions of dollars that changed hands between various interests and the Clinton Foundation was completely unrelated to the tenure of Hillary as Secretary of State.

To which I must respond: "If this was totally on the up-and-up, why does everyone see the need to conceal all of this?"

Actually watched a Democrat spokeshole on CNN yesterday explain this away as "just complex"; and played the "I'm just an ordinary woman and too dumb to understand how this complex stuff works" card. You've come a long way baby.

An unrelated/related aside: Clinton Campaign Chair’s Undisclosed $35M Russian Deal

A bombshell report released Sunday by the non-partisan Government Accountability Institute (GAI) revealed that John Podesta, Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, developed undisclosed relationships with a Putin-connected Russian government fund.

Get ready for the world's first pantsuit-wearing supervillan.

Clearly we need to knock off 299,999,600 citizens so the math works out. I hear that this is on Ă˜bama's outgoing bucket list...

Ciccio said...

I have no idea why anyone should make a fuss about 4 or 400 or 400 million dollars. As this administration has shown on more that one occasion, it is only some special paper and ink, worth top $10,000 a ton. Now that valuable aviation fuel to fly it there, that is another story.

John the Econ said...

As for Obama's continuing vacations: I'm not too worried about his & Michelle's post-presidential lifestyle. As we've seen by the example set by the Clintons, there's absolutely no reason at all these days for former Presidents to have to tone down their now accustomed standard of living paid for on other people's dimes.

But I do agree with @Stilton regarding the Obama daughters holding "real" jobs, even if they're very short-term at the vineyard. The self esteem and life lessons they'll have the opportunity to absorb will be far deeper than those imparted to Chelsea Clinton, who trotted out of school into various high-6-figure positions with no notable skills or accomplishments, and now feels entitled to lecture the rest of us on the meaning of money.

Comrade Limburger, you beat me to the post! Of course no Terd World Dictatorship is complete with just graft and corruption. A sprinkling of corpses du jour is always a prerequisite.
But Trump is just soooo "offensive" to our sensibilities !!!!

John the Econ said...

Sorry, but got one more relevant to Obama's mass-commutation:

How Lowering Crime Could Contribute to Global Warming

"...researchers at the Center for Environmental Strategy at the University of Surrey in England estimated the annual carbon footprint of crime in England and Wales, and found that reducing crime could actually cause society’s overall carbon footprint of society to increase."

You see, productive citizens who have jobs & make money (which are carbon-spewing activities) then take that money and spend it on even more carbon-spewing activities, whereas idle criminals locked up in prison tend to be responsible for relatively little carbon emission. So by releasing hundreds of prisoners, Barack Obama is now mindlessly responsible for the release of countless extra tons of carbon into the atmosphere. Chalk up another victory for ISIS!

@ Geoff: Except you need to add 8 0's after your $1.33

My apologies for confusing the two First Daughters. I made an incorrect assumption.

Yes, doing honest, manual labor is something that everyone should experience in their life. Somehow I have my doubts Sasha will not receive special treatment, but I hope I'm wrong about this too. I also like Stilton's fantasy that one (or both) of these young women will awaken one day to rebel against the hypocrisy of their parents.

@Emmantaler Limburger,
So... you're another of those whacko right wing nut job conspiracy theorists? I think it's perfectly normal to have 80 or 90 associates die under mysterious circumstances. Doesn't this happen to everybody?

Seriously, I'm 64 years old, and in that timeframe, a whopping two of my friends have died in accidents. Why can't libtards see the suspiciousness of Shrilly's number being up around 90 people?

Judy,
Please find a calculator, divide 400,000,000 by 300,000,000 and tell us the answer.

Sorry math people! I guess only 300 people would get 1 million dollars. Mea Culpa.

What's Obama's net worth now, and what do you think it'll be in four or eight years? What was it when he entered the White House?

Does he have to declare all the "gifts" of accommodations, meals, golf games, trips (not on AF1 or FLOTUS 1) and so forth as income? Will he have to do so after he leaves office?

@ No Gouda: No bet on that one.
@ Geoff: They just talk. It doesn't matter what they say 'cause it won't be reported by the MSM.

Where did all that money come from? Doesn't Congress hold the purse strings? Denny Hassert went to jail (which is where he belongs) for taking more than $10K out of his own bank accounts. Who managed to get $4m in cash without violating some banking laws? Duh, I forgot, this administration is above the law. I feel sorry for the family of James Foley; they were told that paying a ransom is against the law.

REM1875 said...

The good news is that unlike certain other presidents he does not do working vacations.

Judi King said...

@ REM1875: That is good news indeed. We'd be better off if the whole city of DC left for vacation for a few months. They're too dangerous when they're supposedly at "work".

Tots said...

@Judi and @REM

Amen. If only they could vacation in another country for a few decades.

Dan said...

@Judi and @Rem and @Tots: Someone already suggested that the AC be turned off in DC area Federal Buildings in the summer. I think that'd be a grand showing of solidarity with John Kerry. Fighting ISIS and Globull Warmening by decreasing AC usage. Brilliant!

Maybe we should turn the heat off there in Jan and Feb, too.

Judi King said...

That is a great idea. Especially turning the heat off since they think there's such a thing as global warming. And the savings in utility bills....oh my.

In case you're interested, there is already a petition up at Change.org:

Remove air conditioning from all US State Department property

It's already up to about 40,000 supporters, although we all know this will never happen. Progressive edicts are never intended to apply to the elites.
